Please I really need help as regards my mum's visa refusal.... I am planning to reapply by march but this time around I will be sponsoring her. I will use my UK statement of account. I hope it wouldn't cause an uproar? She can't sponsor herself again because we can't prove that the funds in her account actually belongs to her. She is just a trader, although with put business in her refused application. Is there anything I should be worried of? Also, for properties as tie back home, what document should be uploaded, receipt of land or the survey? I will attach the refusal letter again.
Also is 5thousand pounds convincing enough to apply with?
Do I need to attach all payment slips to prove the source of funds. Do I need any other documents from the UK here to support her application.
I just put to birth hence I am inviting her.

Sorry dear for the refusal. I applied for my mom too, although I didn't give birth, we invited her for our anniversary and also for holiday and stated she will be staying for two weeks.

What I did was:
My mom is not earning any pension because she didn't work for government, she lives in the village and hence does farm work of which most times she sells farm products. There were times when I was still going to spend holidays with her in the village, I followed to farm and you know out of memory sake, I took pictures of her farming and both of us together as well. Lol, I never really imagined that I would use those pictures one day for visa application.

So since she does not earn and no salary reflects on her account, I told eco that my mom is a petty trader and farmer who sells her farm products in the local Market and hence deals with direct exchange of cash and as such it does not reflect on her account. We explained all these on a cover letter. Even explained that her account is joint because she owned it with my dad before my dad died. The account is bearing their both names.

So we stated that we will sponsor her and we will spend 3000 pounds.. myself and my husband..1500 each.

We submitted:

Our six months statement of accounts both individual and then about three months statement of account from our joint savings.
Our Brp cards
Visa pages
Six months pay slips
The picture I took with her in the farm
Proof of address
We drafted anniversary invitation letter

We usually send her money every month, so that was really the only deposits entering her account, and of course we Also explained she receives regular allowance from her children to add to her farming business.

What I will advise is for you to take ur time and explain her circumstance on a cover letter, so that even if they have doubts or questions to ask, cover letter will carry every information.

On her cover letter, we even explained where my little niece and her aged mother (who we put on the application form that both stay with her) will be staying pending her arrival..we don't want to take chances and make dem assume no one will take of her dependents while she is away and hold on to it...we further explained she will also like to return so she will start her early Year farm harvest..

So just detail her way abouts on a cover letter

You might also want to include pictures of your scan that showed your expected date of delivery, or any proof showing ur delivery details
UK usually considers grandparents visiting their grandchildren..
Good luck

Let her come with a good supply of her medications. You can register her at your GP surgery as a visitor. You can also do travel insurance with AXA Mansard if you are keen on getting her a travel insurance.
In emergencies, visitors don’t pay for emergency treatment, except if the person is admitted on the ward.
. thanks for your input. Really appreciated. I'm a health care worker and I have seen one or two patients admitted on the ward without insurance. One young guy fainted at the airport and they brought him straight to the hospital. I don't know how they went about the bill though, but it's not something one should pray for. But something to be prepared for. That's why I prefer the travel insurance.

Thank you for your response. I will make enquires regarding the insurance as i can understand the need to have the protection in place. I'll copy you in if I find any tangible information.

Ironically, my mum just received her collection and dispatch of document emails few minutes ago. I had zeroed my mind on another month wait. No refusal email so far. However my dad's application is still at DMC.

Biometric done 21st January 2022.
DHL tracking is showing dispatch last night
Two weeks two days

Thanks a lot, I got a collection email for my mom too this morning.

Congratulations in advance. It sounds like good news. The current trend is no refusal email in inbox or junk means approval.

Please when was the biometric capture date for the application, I have an outstanding application for my parents, trying to gauge how long this process might take.

Sorry, I do not have any information on health insurance. It's not something I have ever considered, it'll be interesting to know the benefits and cost. If anyone has experience please it will be helpful.

In the past I've just taken my mum to our local gp, registered her as a visitor. She had consultations and was prescribed medication which we paid for. We also have to pay for her prescriptions at the pharmacy although prescriptions are free in Scotland. We keep all the receipts for visa applications and it has never been an issue.

She captured on 30 November last year.

Ok, I'm in England and I'm afraid because I don't know how much prescriptions cost here. And also if there is emergency that may require A&E intervention, it will be too expensive. No one prays for such though.

Hello all, please I’ve been waiting for a decision on a visitors visa application which has been carried out since 22nd November, and it’s still at DMC stage.

Is there anyone else who made their visiting visa application in November and still waiting, because I’ve been following this thread and some people who applied even in January have gotten their applications approved already.

Is there a special issue or so ? Or is the UKVI clearing applications from the earlier batch, it’s been so frustrating…

Did for my mom since 30 November.. still at DMC though..so frustrating

The email just needs to state your intentions in a respectable tone; there’s no science to it.

Example below:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Good Afternoon and a Happy New Year to you.

I would like to know if a decision has been made on this application? The application was submitted X months ago with the biometrics done over X weeks ago. Do kindly share status.

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Your Name

Self service is the best option you can use. Just scan all your documents with your phone or wit a scanner and save either on your phone or laptop depending on what you want to use to upload your docs. Then you can also get a soft copy of your Bank Statement and save on your phone or laptop as well. Then you create folders for each documents you have so that it will be easy for you to identify them when uploading. It's as easy as that

Wow. Thanks so much

Since you and your husband are sponsoring her, you guys would be the one to write the letter of sponsorship. Specify in the letter if you are sponsoring her whole trip 100% (flight, accommodation, feeding and other miscellaneous) or if part of the trip for the period of her stay between so and so date. Also state the purpose of her trip and where she would be staying. In addition, provide a brief of what you do or where you work and include where the fund will be coming from. Salary, investment, savings etc stating the specific account statements. In the letter, you could state what other documents you have attached as financial proof and also proof of family ties as applicable.
Hope this helps.

Ok. Thanks so much.

But does she need to write any cover letter

Good morning all. Please my mom's TLS appointment is next week Tuesday. I want to print my statement on Saturday because my salary is coming tomorrow. My husband and myself are sponsoring her trip.

We created an email for her to submit the application. So it's more like she filled it herself.
My question is: how do we go about cover letter for eco. Do we (sponsors) need to do the cover letter or should we do it as though it is my mom addressing it to eco about her visit?

We have pictures to support that she is a farmer although her earnings doesn't reflect on her account statement....is she the one to describe her account statement and describe the pictures to be attached?

How do we come in as sponsors..

Please I need help

The only issue I see in ur application is the 10years old child. If she travel for d holiday who is going to take care of her. Uk is very serious about kids u know dat & they can use it as excuse. If she has not gone for biometrics try and explain with a cover letter where she ll stay when u Mum travel.

Okay, thanks so much

Going through your write up, it looks like I made a little mistake while applying for my mom to come and visit my husband and I in the UK...

Firstly, her address on her bank account is our village address, but she is in Lagos now to visit my brother and we used my brothers address..if the both addresses do not match, will it cause any issues?

Again, we chose my mom is a a farmer and earns around 500k per annum, plus additional money from children..... but there is no proof of any deposits from her farming business.. how do we explain to ECO about this...

I have pictures I took with her in the farm few years back which I will also upload.

We also filled that she is living with her grand daughter who is 10 years and will love to come back to unite with her after visiting...

We will also put on the invitation letter that she will return in order to harvest her farm products...

Again, our UK accounts we use for expenses and also salary account..we have a joint account where we transfer money to. If we only print our individual account statements and submit without attaching the savings acct, will it cause issues? Or should we put savings account as well..

I look forward to ur response please

Address on bank account statement does not mean if still your current home address, because if is not your permanent home when you open the account there's a probability that you can changed the residents location home address at any point of time .
