Good afternoon everyone. Does Kenya Airways require transit visa? Is the overall experience with the airline okay enough? |

Good morning everyone. Thank you for all the support here so far.
I'm not sure if this has been addressed in previous posts, but... I just did my biometrics yesterday. Please when and how could I be informed if there'll be an interview? |

offwego: Probably the Institution has assessed your NECO English language grade not to be at the right level for their Masters programme. To be sure, send them an email highlighting your NECO English grade and request that they confirm if this covers for the pre-sessional English requirement. I believe their response will inform your next steps. Thank you very much. I had a C4 in English though, but I'll wait for the response to my email then follow up from there. Thank you very much! |

Sheggy13: I think taking IELTS is cheaper than that pre-sessional English course. Another approach is you get a letter of English Proficiency from the Registrar of the University you had your first degree and upload in place of English test. I know someone who did this and cost him just 2k, and it was accepted by Gloucestershire. Ah this will be really helpful. I can easily get the English proficiency letter from my school. I'll just wait for the Gloucestershire's response to my email. Thank you very much! |

offwego: Kindly provide additional information. what course did you apply for? do you not have the standard English Language qualification in WAEC? I applied for MSc Data Science and actually use NECO. While applying, I was asked to choose the pre-sessional English test if I didn’t have IELTS. Little did I know that the pre-sessional English test will cost over £2k |

Good evening all.
I received a conditional offer from the University of Gloucestershire. As part of my condition, I was asked to take a pre-sessional English course.
Can I still bypass this by taking IELTS instead? |

I think the number of likes those that started these tribal comments got urged them to continue. Any other type of violence can be allowed to fester on, but not a sensitive issue as tribe.
I advice we desist henceforth.

ndubuis: Can never understand why some drivers will prefer cash to card trips and then turn around to accept bank transfers. You may never relate, the mentality of some of these drivers. Strange at best.
Some riders make outrageous requests quite often and when you decline, they will say "but other drivers don't use to complain" .
I don't know if it's poverty, illiteracy, lack of planning, low self-esteem or a combination of all of the above that is plaguing some drivers. I’ve never used my card on any of Bolt or Uber for a trip though, but I’m guessing I’ll be immediately debited once the trip ends. Drawing from personal experience, it’s also difficult to trust drivers too. Two recent experiences tell my story: 1. A friend requested for a ride on Bolt from somewhere after Shrine to Orile Road in agege. He was on a discount, so it’s expected that the trip shouldn’t even be more than 700 max, but the driver simply refused to show us the price when we arrived and insisted it was 1k. He even began threatening us so I just had to give him the money for peace to reign. 2. A friend visited yesterday afternoon. She requested a trip from somewhere in Badore road to my place still in Ajah. Trip estimate was 700-800; there was no traffic at all, but trip ended and driver says it’s 1200. I paid for the trip when she arrived, so he showed me the trip details. I paid cos I didn’t even know the distance (I’m new in the area). It was only when she was leaving that I learned about the estimate. The trip estimate back to her location was 800-900, and ended at #800. No stress. So, with cash, I feel more secure. I can dispute a ride if I feel a driver has cheated me, but I’m not so sure how that will work with a card trip. I haven’t really had bad experiences using Bolt and Uber in Lagos though, but I try to prepare in advance just in case. |

izzou: You have actually turned this table many times that you've forgotten what your stance was from the beginning
You started by saying it was wrong to talk down on a side hustle that pays... And that who cares about a cv these days(Meaning getting the Benjamins was more important)
You still said you sell clothes as a side hustle, compared to your accounting career that doesn't bring anything tangible
Someone asked you to resign then and you said No, you're in it for self development
So you sell clothes, to develop yourself in Accounting, but when someone was advising drivers here to channel their energy to career growth, you came for their head Abi?
You have said so many different things in different comments I think what she’s saying is pretty simple. She only does her side hustle because her accounting job gives her the time to pursue extra bucks; but the side hustle is not her ultimate goal. She needs the extra bucks to survive today, but in the long run, she should be recognized as a top level accountant. In the same vein, I think you’d have continued with Uber if it gave you the time for your current self-development plan. You had to quit because it didn’t allow you walk the path leading to your ultimate goal. I think this issue is pretty straightforward to understand for everyone. Everyone contributing here have made sense, one way or another. We should just be more open to understanding each other. |

radautoworks: It never ceases to amaze me how fast things degenerate on NL. It makes sense in a verbal discussion where things may have been misheard but in WRITTEN SPEECH
Las las una go dey alright Lol... I guess pride plays a major role in all of this. It’s an anonymous platform where we can all climb on our high horse, and not care whatever view the next person has. It’s only on NL I see how difficult it can be to accommodate the different perspectives of others |

You are all asking the right questions before making purchases.
I am still searching for a reasonably priced car to buy on this thread, as soon as i do i will make contact, hopefully it will not take forever for the thread owner to respond and accept my money. “Reasonably priced”. So the cars the OP has been posting are what? Premium priced? Hmmmmm... I’ll prefer to say nothing more. |

I used to follow this thread for a while until the stresses of life distracted me somehow... lol
I do not know if this topic has been addressed here but I’d like to ask... what are the thoughts about Stanbic’s money market? Is it better than Tbills? What are the standout differences?
I will really appreciate any helpful responses before I make my next move. Thank you so much great house! |

pocohantas: Once I declare intent, you accept and we have a LEGAL BACKING, I am a partner. I can decide to go home and sleep, depending on the agreement...I am still a PARTNER. Just like a typical employee can decide not to turn up at the office you know? Like the employer reserves the right to hire and fire at will, the car owner reserves the right to give and withdraw the car at will. It is a typical employer-employee relationship my friend. For whatever expertise the driver is bringing, he/she will incur absolutely no losses if things turn sour. Plus, there are loads of drivers out there willing to take up the former’s chance. I don’t think that is a partnership of any sort. |
