SEVERAL MUSLIMS INCLUDING NORTHERNERS ALSO HATE WHAT BOKO HARAM HAS BEEN DOING SO WHY ARE WE TOO BLIND TO SEE THAT THIS IS THE CONFUSION THEY(BOKO HARAM & THEIR SPONSORS) HAVE ALWAYS PLANNED - CONFUSION BETWEEN CHRISTIANS & MUSLIMS. IN THE WEST,SOUTH & EAST OF NIGERIA, HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT MUSLIMS & CHRISTIANS FIGHTING? EVERYONE LIVES IN PEACE. SO WHY IS IT ONLY IN THE NORTH? THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NO NEED FOR NIGERIA TO SPLIT RATHER BLAME JONATHAN FOR HIS WEAKNESS TOWARDS THIS WHOLE SITUATION & HIS TOTAL CLUELESSNESS AS A LEADER. if you can't learn to discipline your kids & show them what's right from wrong, why wouldn't they become wayward. I knew there is someting of a darkness about this person ALHJ_HARAM when it comes to igbos still alive til date, you just cant help it can you,why must you wallow in pain that IGBOS AND FRIENDS are celebrating their hero, why is it eating you up that people have a real hero,a selfless hero to celebrate? did anyone stop you from celebrating a true hero if you have one, which im sure in yorubaland you have honest and selfless men like GANI R.I.P AND WOLE SOYINKA a man worth celebrating and emulating, honest and selfless but you cant see it in him, instead you will plot his down fall cos for you, he soyinka doesnt do your hypocritic and selective business just to suit your evil agenda.Im advicing you to leave igbos or the entire southeast and southsouth alone it's clear that your only interest regarding them is only evil wish BY APPLYING ANYTHING you can think of to make sure that you turn everything to negativity,by the way when was the last time you said anything human about our president GOODLUCK JONATHAN apart from your usual name calling odechukwu this ratardeen that cos he didnt come from your favourite parts of the country right? Just go and celebrate the likes of GANI R.I.P AND SOYINKA i do celebrate them too even though i'm igbo or you can go jump off and drawn in the nearest river or sea and no one cares about the depression you have brought upon yourself.AS FOR THE IGBOS WE WILL CONTINUE TO CELEBRATE OUR HEROS LIKE KADUNA NZEOGWU R.I.P AND HIS FAMILY,NNAMDI AZIKIWE R.I.P AND HIS FAMILY,PHILLIP EFIONG R.I.P AND HIS FAMILY AND MANY OTHERS AND OFCAUSE CHUKWUEMEKA ODIMEGWU OJUKWU NO MATTER WHICH EVER WAYS CRAFTY AND SICK PEOPLE LIKE YOU( ALHJ_HARAM) TRYS TO PUT CONFUSION. alj_harem: usual ranting. Ok answer this questions truthfully in your heart/head
What did Ojukwu fight for ?
Who was he fighting against and for what reason ?
If you say he fought for igbos been killed in the North, then why did he not fight against the north ?
Moreover if he is fighting for Igbos been killed in the north, What has ijaw, ibibio , efik etc got to do with Igbos and Fulanis ?
Why did he invade and kill the Mid-west people, was he fighting for them as well or trying to expand his new found country ?
Why did he have to fight Obj and co at ore ? What was he doing in ore at the first place ? To reach the capital when it was predominately occupied by a neutral group ?
Where Ibibios, ijaws etc killed in the north as well ?
Why did he not try to LOOK FOR PEACEFUL SOLUTION instead of allowing biafra people to be killed only for him to run away ?
If he truely love baifra, then Why did he try to contest for the presidential seat 1999, 2003 and 2007 ? was it about power ?
Why would he call Awo the best president we never had if truly Awo did all those atrocities u people cry on him ?
this are the questions I don't need reply but just for you to think of and be honest because you see, to keep an open unbiased head, you need to view things from an OBSERVER POINT OF VIEW. |

Thank you and God keep you and people like you. Madamot: At the end of the day, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However, what I cant get over is the nasty and crude language that is used to give a contrary opinion! As a non Ibo who has read widely on the Biafran war, I do believe that it is a cruel and terrible part of our history that must be addressed and put to rest thereafter. Most Wars in recent history have had some form of reconciliation fact finding Commission/Tribunal that has investigated atrocities committed that are contrary to civilized rules of war. Horrific things were inflicted on Easterners in the name of The Federal Republic of Nigeria, which means in the name of any Nigerian who was not from the East. Apart from the spiritual repercussions of this, being abusive and nasty, 40 years later certainly is not going to help. There is a deep pain that will not just go away or be forgotten and must be addressed. That Ibos today are prospering and are on a rising and blest projectile that has not even started is only by the Grace of God and should not be an excuse to ignore or deny the need to come together as brothers and sisters, comfort and wipe away the years of hiden pain and resentments. If this is not done, then the future is not bright as the festering sore will eventually consume all, one way or another. |

@ndu chucks. You mean like the NZEOGWU style, and how does one know it's not gonna be blamed on the igbos or any other ethnic groups?you have to understand why some people will be sceptical to how other people would love to see it.As for me i support anything that would end the sufferings of the poor and get back our dignity, but we must aknowlege first that it's not gonna be easy given our ethnic history, and that is where we the youths really need to work extremely hard togain each others trust at certain level, cos those politicians we think that relate to ethnically or religiously do not in any way give a damn about us,and sooner we realise this the better is.So we might not be of one ethnic or religion but one thing is for sure,we have one common enemy and that enemy (leaders/politicians)are more deadly than any difference they made to believe we have, and also we should stop defending them at all cos all they know and believe in is to give us a cup of garri/rice any time there is election. So it will be better for us start a none violence movement for the youths nationwide with zonal branches and also outside nigeria, where we will first start by working hard to educate ourselves that our problems is not down to our ethnic/tribal or religious differences but lack of our effort to realise that we have been used and fed crap for too long by these draculas including some of the press.SO LETS START MOVEMENT WHERE WE WILL SEE EACH OTHERS AS FELLOW SUFFERING YOUTHS BE UNITED IN LOOKING FOR LEGITMATE MEANS TO SHAKE OFF THIS COMMON ENEMY AND NEVER LET TRIBAL OR RELIGIOUS SENTIMENT TO COME BETWEEN US.With this i can garrantee you we will be a force to reckon with, those socalled owners of nigeria will begin to be fearful even when we the youths movement didnt even threatened anyone with violence, and this could be due to the level of unity and understanding (free from their useual brainwash )that would be seeing among us. |

We will not entertain any children of those who participated in committing war crimes against us like you,to be telling us who did what while they make themselves look innocent, that is my stand.SINCE WHEN DID YOU EVER START SYMPATHIZING WITH US BY THE WAY? T8ksy: @ Bolded One, Good! So, you freely admit that Nzeribe was selling arms (legally or otherwise) to the nigerian govt to kill his fellow ibos during the war? Oh well, i guess he must have been another nigerian "nationalist" (like Dr Nnamdi Azikwe), who did not support Biafra-Land of rising sun. In that case, there's nothing morally wrong in Arthur Nzeribe making billions from his business deals with the nigerin govt. which saw to the death of millions of innocent lives- his own people! It can safely be assumed then, that Chief Arthur Nzeribe is a man who doesn't give a ratsarse about his own people. But somehow this same "arms dealer" became a voice of "the people" in Imo's house of senate, in the third republic!
@ Bolded Two,
So, arthur nzeribe simply went for the lesser (or bigger) evil? Its just unfortunate that his choice coincidentally happens to go against the people's wish, which they had demonstated at the polls. Arthur Nzeribe has never fought for the masses in nigeria- not even his own people, he did not fight with the people in 1993. So how come he is now attempting to dress himself in the garb of a social critic?
The man is a fraud, jo! Let him just go and sit his dumb armsdealer's ar.se down in his palatial palace luxurianting in the fruits of his "blood money" and leave us alone. We are not interested in anything he has to say as we know from his antecedants, that whatever it is, will not be in the interest of the common people. He should JSTFU!!! |

Whether we have been known as igbos or not from the time of ADAM AND EVE, in the northern part or western part of nigeria and else where you are only known as igbo and nothing else,so it's only in igboland that one is known to be of ENUGU,ONITSHA/ONICHA,ASABA,OWERRE.NDOKI,ARO,IKWERE,ABAKALIKI AND SO ON which is a simple thing cos those who see us as igbos outside igboland are not stupide. ChinenyeN: False. Show me the evidence. Show me where in oral traditions these groups claimed to know what "igbo" is. Come and tell me about Ngwa oral history and traditions and tell me "we have always been known as Igbo". You keep making all of these claims, but what do you even know about the people you are making claims about? What do you know about Ngwa? What do you know about Ndoki? What do you know about Asa? What do you know about Echie? What do you know about Ikwere? What do you know about Akpohia? What do you know about Ohnuhnu? What do you know about Ahiara? What do you know about Okpala? What do you know about Ulakwo? Please, tell me. You insist that "we have always been known as Igbo", but you cannot tell me anything about the aforementioned groups' traditions.
In short, this is just like the claim of Nri hegemony in that thread about Nri visiting Virginia. One OfoIgbo insisted on Nri cultural/religious hegemony, even in the face of contradicting evidence. He even went the length of being so bold as to say to me "such and such never happened in Ngwa", and that is exactly what you are beginning to sound like right now (note, this is not an avenue to get into anything about Nri. The above is just an example, comparing the nature of your claim to that of OfoIgbo).
KC is correct about what he said about Ngwa people, me inclusive. I don't have a problem with us being Igbo people (which Ngwa does?), but I do have a problem when people make it a priority to make over-reaching claims like "we have always been Igbo". I have a problem when Igbo people, who are ignorant of certain people's traditions, culture and society make such blanket and unfounded claims; struggling so hard to forge a false sense of some kind of "homogeneity in antiquity".
We are Igbo people now, but that doesn't mean you have to lie about the past; "we have always been known as Igbo"; abaraka. |

There's a north, south, east and west in everything, even in Ngwaland there's a northern(Isialangwa) and a southern(Obiomangwa) axis. I simply don't understand why you are so keen to establish this division in every Igbo thread.
