nnamdijonathan: If I here? to win an election in Nigeria, u need to be in the preferred political party of the people. Closing the open gutters in Anambra will cost so much money and there are many more projects that are more important than closing up gutters like paving all the roads in the state, adequate and efficient supply of potable water, connecting the rural communities to the power grid etc. We even need to start tree planting before we commence the covering of the gutters. Talk about how Imo state girls can stop prostitution first before talking of planting trees in anambra. That is more important. The rate of HIV in Igboland is on the increase just because Imo girls are generally harlots. |

Wiseandtrue: Did you say Enugu is a harsh place to reside
What exactly do you mean by that OP
I take it that you have not been to Enugu
But he said the truth there. Enugu is very hot and humid and the town suffers severe water crisis. Enugu lacks groundwater, what you find when you dig for water is coal, coal, more coal and lead. Till today, enugu is fed by water tankers from Awka and other parts of Anambra. Enugu is just an overrated ghetto. |

nnamdijonathan: See how you are talking as if u are a trader. If the government asks you to pay 20k as tax every month, won't you faint? This is not Imo state page in case you are lost. |
Politics › Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by NonsoWow: 8:23am On Aug 02, 2018 |
Purehuman: The only way states get richer is if they keep money flowing within its walls. Or else, they will be making money for other people.
Major businesses should as a matter of urgency relocate to Anambra state if they will love to enjoy it's dividends. States should even put as a clause in handing projects to them. You are very correct. And to add, you shouldn't take that ghostface clown who is fuming that traders pay ten thousand naira in mgbuka serious. Even on a very bad day, a trader in mgbuka won't make less than 100k a day! Yet one clown is saying that a tax of 10k a year or even a month is too much! Our people don't like paying tax and they expect to have their roads paved in gold. On the average, no trader in the big markets should be paying less than 20k a month consolidated tax to the anambra government if we want to have improved infrastructure. |
Politics › Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by NonsoWow: 8:01am On Aug 02, 2018 |
Purehuman: This is good. If you want to enjoy Anambra state, bring your business to Anambra. Exactly. It makes no sense that Anambra will generate so much revenue from people living within the state and then gift it to businesses based in other states. Contractors who want to get anambra contracts should relocate their head office back to anambra. The funny thing is that those contractors don't even get contracts from those states where they built their base because the governments of those states see them as non-indigenes who want to steal what belongs to their people. Yet, they expect anambra government to be giving them contracts for them to be paying as tax in other states. It is senseless. They should emulate Pacchucs engineering and Tamad construction that are based in anambra if they want to get contracts from the government. |

Obiano should raise taxes now especially in markets. Otherwise, he should borrow from banks and pay back with taxes collected from traders. Goodies always come at a cost and the sooner our people realize it, the better. |
Politics › Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by NonsoWow: 7:17am On Aug 02, 2018 |
Who knows the name of the contractor who did the roads in odume layout? They should be given more contracts. There are very good anambra-owned contractors like inter-bau, master holdings, akiota works etc that the anambra government should patronize. The only problem I have with them is that they refused to build their head offices in anambra. Pacchucs does not have that problem and that is why they are getting so much contracts now. Obiano is trying to keep anambra money circulating in anambra and he must be commended for that. |

OMANBALA1: I wouldn't say deceive but over ambitious. He has the will to do it but lets be honest Anambra do not have the financial strength to tackles all the infrastructural needs of the state. We need to increase taxes, that's the only way out. Our people don't want to pay taxes. There is no way a shop owner in main market should not pay up to 20,000 naira in revenue, monthly. These citizens are robbing the state. This is the bitter truth that our people don't want to hear. The infrastructure challenge in Anambra is very enormous and monthly federal allocations are too meagre to address the challanges. The alternative is borrowing hundreds of billions of naira to fund the needed infrastructure but our people have been brainwashed to believe that borrowing is a bad thing. |

The cities are in this order...
ONITSHA and its metropolis
NNEWI and its metropolis
AWKA and its metropolis
EKWULOBIA and its metropolis including Oko, uga, umuchu
IHIALA and its metropolis including Uli, okija, isseke
UMUNZE Awka is by far bigger than Nnewi both in population and in land size. |

Remaining Ikpeazu of Abia to take a swipe against Anambra before we count all completed. Ndi ala, brothers indeed. We are watching this interesting movie. Leave that clown to keep making a fool of itself. We know their wawa people who resisted the legal backing of the oil producing status of anambra at the national assembly that would have seen anambra included in the NDDC. Regardless of the level of their envy and hatred, wawa and other lowlife wannabe igbos are forever inferior to the anambra man. We have nothing in common with them. Their envy will only propel anambra higher and keep them beneath our feet. |

Jerrypolo: They only succeeded in doing that because the Ekiti state election is staggered.
They cannot afford to concentrate military and financial might in Rivers when same election is going on simultaneously in over 30 states.
Things is, Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa (Though staggered too) and Akwa Ibom will remain PDP states for a very long time. All their strongmen are still in the game ready to secure their loot with the blood of any foolish youth that will come out as tools by them and their opponents.
Although Delta state haven't gotten another leader like Chief James Onanefe Ibori (in terms of infrastructure, job and wealth creation as well as grassroot mobilization), the people would rather they die there than move to the APC. Same can be said of the other states mentioned above. Cheerio. Even a primary sch pupil already knows that d rivers election wil b bloody & no sane rivers resident will want to lose his life for a thug like wike who can't pay salaries. |

Ask JTF what happened during the militancy days in the Niger Delta. Ask also what informed the federal Govt to introduce AMNESTY! If APC wants Peace, we will give them Peace. Rivers and Akwa-Ibom are no go areas for APC. We are waiting! If it becomes blood for blood, soldiers vs militants, who will come out to vote for wike? Mind you that wike would need the people to come out and vote since Inec is no more in his control for him to create fictitious figures.. |

Cjrane2: This is commendable.
However, nobody should take Nigerian statistics of Enugu GDP seriously. To them, Osun state has a higher GDP than Enugu and Anambra combined.
Nigeria has the world's most laughable concoction called "data" on almost everything because data is linked to sharing federal allocation.
No data from official government circles in Nigeria is a true reflection of what is on the ground. It is always manipulated for federal allocation. If you are talking of GDP, Anambra has the largest GDP in the south east. Abia state is a distant second. Enugu state is basically a civil servant state and should be third or fourth. |
