saasala: I joined Christ Embassy on the 31st/1st night of 2006/2007. It was my first time of being to the church after much persuation from my sister. I fell in love with the church instantly and decided to make Pastor Chris my man of God and spiritual father after hearing the sermon that day. It was the sweetest sermon I have heard in years.

Christ Embassy is a great church with men and women especially young people boiling with the word God. Christ Embassy thought me to know my rights in Christ and defeated all manner of fear whatsoever. After about a year of joining I started speaking in other toungues and began functioning sufficiently in the cell.


I stopped going to church (not just Christ embassy) more than a year ago because:

(1) The church doesn't tell people what God wants them to hear but what they want them to hear: Because C.E doesnt want to lose its members, the pastors dont preach against adultery and fornication. They dont preach against the members exposing their body because they dont want to lose them. They tell you to sow seeds to be blessed of God. You are asked to bring all the money you have earned in the first month of every year as first fruits, depriving yourself and spouse of necessary amenities.

(2) Men are coaxed into sowing their entire earnings as seed: My sister and her hubby attend the church and because of the seeds the man has to sow, he couldnt give his wife enough money to start her business making them argue over and over and over again, at a time almost tearing their marriage apart.
I know of a sister whose whose husband work in a reputable company, they almost got divorced (dont know about now) because the man would sow everything he has to the church, not giving the wife enough money to take care of her self and the children.

(3) Christ Embassy dont teach you how to give to your fellow humans, they only teach you how to give to the church alone. If you ask your fellow member to borrow you say 100k for business, they wouldnt do it, the next sunday you see the same person sowing 200k.

You have to sow into these arms: Rhapsody Of Realities (owned by Pastor chris and Anita), LoveWorld Plus (owned by pastor Chris), LoveWorld Media (owned by Pastor chris), Campus Ministry, Stage Set, Inner city mission, Healing school etc etc

(4) Christ embassy organizes a particular event every year end "The Love World Award Night" Where the biggest givers in the ministry are being giving awards for their givings. Are we not supposed to be rewarded by God and not men? People started giving, not because they wanted to please God but because they want to recieve award from pastor Chris. They later brought the award night down to every satelite church while still holding on to the big one, thereby making members deprive their families of necessary things.

I became a choir cordinator in early 2013 after my gifts as a guitarist and drummer was discovered by the pastor of the new satellite church I joined when I relocated to another town. I left the church about 7 months after. During my time as the choir coordinator, one of the choir members, a young man of say 23 years wanted to learn video editing from me. I told him to get a laptop first. He told the pastor about it. The pastor told him he has a laptop than is strong enough to edit videos. The pastor is well to do, he has a good job drives a clean car and his kids and wife look like they are from above. The pastor told the brother to pay for the laptop knowing fully well the young man is jobless, he later started disturbing the guy with phone calls asking him to send the money into his account. That brother, just like me has stopped going to church because of this, my own reason for quitting is different though. Imagine!

The one who gives is praised and worshiped while those who dont are looked down upon. Bottom line is that, you are forced to give, I mean to give all your dime and neglect the needs to the extent of neglecting the needs of your wife. They force you to pledge and pay up to the last dime. I left the church owing thousands of niara.

That is the same with all the rich Pastors in nigeria, no one is better and all have the same story.
all they want is money from their stuped followers.

you mean to tell us that all the houses in your city are much stronger than that of TB Joshua.
the MOG does not have sufficient funds to erect a durable structure like the people in your city right?

That an aircraft flew over the building is not strange. This is common in Lagos where planes fly over residential areas to get to the airport.
The real cause of the tragedy is likely to be faulty construction works.

I know this the main hospital in vienna has a helicopter place that they can bring a sick person direct to the hospital and nothing happen, they come sometimes 10 times a day.

All our big hospital have this and nothing like this happen.

Just see it in the news in my country, europa, about the building it was a short clip, but what I see look so nonprofessional, I never see something like this in my country when this happen.

I could remember that happen some month ago that a man want to die and he put on the gas so the last storey of the 4 floor building was destroyed only people from the red cross and the rescue service where near the building no other people, all the streets where closed you could only see what happen from about 100 meters.

I have the fear that more than 40 people lose their life.

This is clearly a result of poor construction or structural design.

Than in the city i live we must have this every month because sometime the plains have to fly over my city and some big planes go down that you feel they will just hit the next house.

What i see in this video, that shows that something with the building was not okay perhaps they didnot use much steel for the buttless so with the time the building will collaps.

Every engineer know that without steel you cannot build a house like this. Also when they didnot use much cement and less steel it could happen.

sandijey: That's what I was told too. That the foundation of the building is very strong. When I passed the street the last time I saw the building. It looked very solid. So what happened. Anyway we can only speculate. Tb Joshua himself said it was a terrorist attack. All I no is let God be true and let others be liars.

It could look very strong but when you dinot put much steel in the buttress it will collabs, and when you look at the photos it could be very possible that they didnot use much steel.

Gaidenk: Just saw the footage,seriously that building went down like grenades where planted in its foundations. There's more to this than meet the eye. With my lil experience with buildings i do not think airplane vibrations would bring down a building in such way,unless some sort of substance or device was dropped on the roof as the plane flew past. When you build a building like that you need steel, and when you didnot use much steel the cement cannot bear the upper storeys, so this could be the ppoblem, what i see from some photos because it looks if the buttress didnot have much steel in it.

The plane was there 1 hour before that happen so that is not possible.

In my country it is not possible to put on a two storey building 4 more storeys on in because do you know about statik or this is something what nigerian engineers didnot learn at the University.

Actually my frustration is that I grew up in an era when Nigeria was much much better than it is right now. I would not trade my Nigerian citizenship for any other.
It is because I can clearly see the faults, the faulty thinking patterns, the attachment to sentiments when it is not necessary, the clear perversion of cultural values, that is what makes me me soo sad, even combative.

I grew up in era where a thief, a person of questionable character was put in his proper place in the community. I grew up in an era, not too long ago, when parents and kinsmen took responsibility for the shameful conducts of their wards. I grew up in an era that when someone takes an oath or swears an oath, it stood for something true and meaningful.

I have said it before that the Babangida era changed everything in Nigeria for the worse, and it coincided with the explosion of the evangelical movement, the era of miracles and less personal responsibility.

Yes, I am definitely angry at what my country has turned into. Everything that is happening in Nigeria today, all social and economic dislocations were clearly predicted by me as far back as 1992.

This pastors are so foulish just got some information today, about Adeboye that he didnot got a small church when he got it from his mentor.

It is not possible when you have a two storey building that you put on this building 3 or more storeys that is the problem but i could remember that, it must be last year when they same happen to an other church in Lagos that a building they want to put an other storey on it collaps.

You are definitely right. There is indeed self hatred that is so common among Nigerians.

I used to think that Nigerians were the kindest people on earth.

I once went to an Anglican Church in Canada, a very small church, that emptied their treasury and raised a bit more to $8000 to rebuild dilapidated primary school in faraway Mali. I eagerly donated because it touched my heart.

Can or has Adeboye, Oyedepo or Oyaks raised or given a kobo to build or repair any schools in any remote village in Nigeria, let alone elsewhere?

Where are their hearts, especially in these times of great need all around them?
Are they hoarding their billions for Jesus?

We make the same in my country with a school we build new in Kenya for about 600 kids it is at the moment a primary school and a kindergarden but we will have next year a secondary school the building is growing.
