People buy and sell for various reasons, and stocks fall and rise for various reasons as well.

I know you know there is a stark difference between price and value. That Ellah has touched N12 does not mean it is worth N12. Do I regret selling, YES. Would I have sold if I knew the future? Hell no! How ever I did not know the future and I took the best decision based on the information I had at the time.

With regards to the insurance sector I believe the biggest issue we have with insurance in Nigeria is cultural and I don't think the bill will address that in the immediate future. However, insurance companies invest in fixed income securities and equities and with both assets giving decent returns the insurance companies should be worth more than they are. So I am bullish on insurance companies but the last result from linkage just wasn't very sexy.

Ellah stock price will certainly drop next week as short term investors will sell off quickly to move elsewhere.

I dont know why they are trying to fly before they learn to crawl. I would have expected them to have allowed their plantation to reach max capacity before needing to raise more capital to expand (if needed).

Also one thing that stood out to me with regards the X Q&A was that he kept insisting the raising capital via equity was cheaper than raising via debt. This goes against conventional wisdom.

In any case whats the rush with the capital raise?

I will be back in the company long before then. No need to tie down capital when gtb is still trading below pe of 3. Cadbury is trading at pe of 3 with Return on equity above 200%. These are actual numbers that I can see today

My problem now is Ellah's latest results is not good,what prompted the rapid rise in price?
When the audited result is announced in the next few months,this same share price will nose dive.
They should do well and sell commercial papers. This is the only news I will appreciate than doing right issue or private placement/ public offer.

I have to thank Ellah for rewarding me to where I think I can stop until I see the next line of action which must be a positive one that can impact on the top and bottom lines.

I was a bit surprised when the CEO mentioned they were prioritising equity fundraising over debt. That said, it's still early days for the company, and the road ahead is long. I exited my position at N4.29 and may consider re-entering in the future.

For now, I see several mature companies trading at deeply discounted valuations, and I can't justify tying up capital in what is essentially still a startup.

In successful ventures the growth phase returns profit that multiplies money like x10 in a shorter period than more mature businesses. New ventures also carry risk of failure. But if there is no failure money multiples like x10 in less than a decade.

Is it really that easy to collect other people's money? Perhaps Ellah will get to 5. Or even 10! But it'll not be the fundamentals that drive the stock there for the next few years.

To claim that management is transparent doesn't even pass the laugh test. They have consistently over-promised and under-delivered over the years. Investors have short memories. Remember those 500 pigs they had? Well, they've "culled" them pigs; the herd was too local and unproductive, apparently, so they now have to breed improved pigs. No more revenue from pigs till 2026 or later.

So focus on oil palm, now that Presco is all the rage. I looked up a series of satellite imagery of the Edo plantation from 2024 and 2025, using the rough location the company was shamed into disclosing. (It's not hard; drop these coordinates into Google Maps and Google Earth, then zoom in: 6°01'46.9"N 5°51'31.8"E.)

If I have the right plantation, which was the only one within 2400 hectares square space from the Oben gas plant, a number of observations:

- There are actually plantings of oil palm. You can see the fronds if you zoom into the cleared area. Optimal industry practice is to space oil palm trees about 9m apart, and you can confirm that is the rough spacing using the Measure Distance feature on Google Maps.
- The planted area seems well short of 500 hectares the company now claims. (First, they only disclosed they had 2400 hectares total, but had cleared 900 hectares.) My best estimate, again using the MD feature to gauge the planted area (which has some error), is about 200 hectares. And I was being extremely generous.
- The planted area does NOT seem to have changed meaningfully from 2024. Maybe they are counting the seedlings in their nursery.

Bottom line, this company get k-leg. Their short-term strategy seems to be to book revenue from milling last-last, raise new equity, then sort out the actual plantation over the coming years. Maybe they'll get there. But that road long. I'd rather stay with Presco.

Investing is not a team sport. I am bullish and I need some people to be bearish so I can accumulate. Thank you for these observations.

Ellah is past tense right now. Lets look to the future. I have spent the last few days loading Cadbury. Q1 was looking very sexy. Forward p.e of 3.5, ROE of 230%. Negative point I can spot is Book Value per share is 4.5, whihc is quite quite low but then again nothing is perfect
