While things might be a bit more expensive now, living costs will still most likely be way lower than many other towns and cities.
I grew up there and I must say that its a lovely town, I heard transport is no longer as cheap relative to past years. Houses are not expensive too.

I was there last year for a project and I spent a week there. I love the coolness and calmness of the city. The roads are on average, electricity wasn't that bad etc. But when I asked my host about the cost of living, I was aghast. Oshogbo is no longer as cheap as it used to be.

My host told me that houses are now becoming so expensive and you can only enjoy Oshogbo if you're a fraudster, a top tier banker or a CEO in some good companies. I'd have really prefer that place over Ibadan. At least, traffic wahala is not too much there.

Is it big deal in Nigeria? Look at the cycles of politicians we have in power today. From Buhari, to Ekweremadu, Ngige, Okorocha, Tinubu and many others. Same figures when Nigeria was struggling and it's this same figures we have now that the struggling has become greater.

Some of our parents who headed those companies at some point became so greedy so much that in the case of Wire and Cable in Ibadan for example, you'll hear stories of MDs who looted the company till they folded up.

Politicians started the trend of pulling affluent lifestyle into the faces of ordinary citizens, ordinary citizens began to steal and all those companies started dying. Now, even bureaucrats are stealing pensions and gratuities from one another. Many of them would tell you that they're expecting pittance after retirement so they steal as much as they wanted to before they retire.


Our value system is down, really down and sincerely, it will take some very strong consistent iron hands at several levels of government to set it right again. This generation of politicians we have presently don't look fit for the task.

How I wish Lagos could invest heavily in its electricity generation, transmission and distribution, you will be amazed how its economy will skyrocket and soar high, the state has the potential to be among the top leading economies in Africa.

It's already among the top leading économies in Africa but yet, you're so correct. A state like that (and other states that want grow) should have stable electricity all over. With electricity, efficient transportation system, Lagos will just be starting. Housing will be the next challenge.

That someone was a victim of "divorce is bad mantra" does not make divorce good except for half-brains like Freeze who think popularity is achieved by badmouthing others.

As an educator, I can categorically say that most badly behaved children are from divorced homes. Freeze should knock his head on the ground.
