Foreign countries will continue to employ because only few countries have the required skilled labour to care for their population. Classy? How many of such buildings have you entered?

Let me tell you a little story:

A certain department in the University of Ibadan was moved to their "permanent site" because of this TETFUND project. The project itself was awarded in 2009 but the money for constructing it was not released until 2017. They started the building then and it was finally completed in 2020.

Here's the problem: the money that was released is exactly what was approved since 2009. They didn't include the inflation rate. As a result, the building had a lot of errors. If you visit this building today, you'd see some of the tiles already coming off. They didn't even include furniture and fittings. The toilet were abysmally fixed, lighting problem, lecturers who brought their ACs with them from the former site have to fix it with their own money. The ones that have no money dumped it aside.

Apart from the lecture hall that had some chairs, chairs for the rest of the building was provided by the alumni body. The conference hall is as empty as the atmosphere, ditto for the cafeteria. In fact, of you're in the compound of this building, you'd think the contractor is coming back to finish the work tomorrow but it has been like that since 2020.

This also goes for many of such project. Tertiary education in Nigeria needs help and the stipends from the government can never sustain them. Forget about the TETFUND scam. There's a lot more to tertiary institution than uncompleted or abysmally completed structures.
