lexy2014: It seems you didn't understand the questions I asked and the previous comments you made that necessitated the questions.
you said that "the Supreme Court cannot determine legal tender".
how then can The same Supreme Court "ensure that the CBN continues to receive old notes according to the law"?
which law gives the supreme court the power to "ensure that the CBN continues to receive old notes according to the law"?
In my second paragraph take note of the word "how" How what oga? I've been plain and very detailed. Try explaining what you mean by "how" |

One last thing, the CBN was not joined in the suit because the governors were trying to be clever by half. The first case against the CBN governor was thrown out of court from the beginning. So they decided to sue the FG which makes sense but you have to direct your judgement to the respondent. Which is the FG. But they also took it to the CBN. Lol. The CBN was not named as a respondent in the suit and therefore cannot act on it. Only the FG can comply with this order and direct the CBN to comply too. When people keep blaming Emiefele I just laugh. |

lexy2014: if you say that "the Supreme Court cannot determine legal tender", how then can The same Supreme Court "ensure that the CBN continues to receive old notes according to the law"? which law gives it that power to "ensure that the CBN continues to receive old notes according to the law"? The CBN Act. Let's tackle them one after the other: 17. The Bank shall have the sole right of issuing currency notes and coins throughout Nigeria and neither the Federal Government nor any State Government, Local Government, other person or authority shall issue currency notes, bank notes or coins or any documents or tokens payable to bearer on demand being document or token which are likely to pass as legal tender. No government, other person, or Authority has the power to determine legal tender in Nigeria. The Supreme Court falls under the "Authority" category. 20. (1) The currency notes issued by the Bank shall be legal tender at their face value for the payment of any amount.
(2) The coins issued by the Bank shall, if such coins have not been tampered with, be legal tender in Nigeria at their face value up to such amount or amounts as may be determined, from time to time, by the BankAgain you see that the CBN are the only authorized authority to issue legal tender and change it. However the last part of this section contains the conditions: (3) Notwithstanding Sub-sections (1) and (2) of this section, the Bank shall have power, if directed to do so by the President and after giving reasonable notice in that behalf, to call in any of its notes or coins on payment of the face value thereof and any note or coin with respect to which a notice has been given under this Sub- section, shall, on the expiration of the notice, cease to be legal tender, but, subject to section 22 of this Act, shall be redeemed by the Bank upon demand.Only the president can approve of the naira redesign. Not just approve, but direct that the redesign be implemented.
This last part answers your question about the Supreme courts role in enforcing the collection of old notes. The Supreme Court will simply enforce this part of the CBN Act.
But like I said earlier, they cannot force logistics. Especially since the CBN says they've destroyed the old notes already and the machines are bad.
To force logistics, the governors have to go back to the Supreme court after giving a reasonable amount of time. By that time elections will be over. |

Elemiewele don meet him match. Why do you think they started instructing bank to collect old notes? It’s simply because people with old note will be frustrated into voting a candidate that can guarantee the value of their Naira of banks fail to accept it. LOL. No one is talking about that. Just the normal propaganda. Who has changed their preferred candidate because of naira notes? |

salesbloo: You see why APC Governors are right
I can deposit 500K in 5 different bank accounts making 2.5m meaning old notes is still a legal tender .....since the deadline specified is April 10 . Alternatively if you have individual and corporate accounts ....500k in each account
On the other hand if the above scenario is not plausible because of BVN, instead of depositing it, since there are no new naira notes, I will just spend it .Why should I return them since there is no new naira notes and no deadline. Let continue to recirculate them, CBN want to scam us again. To get old or new notes you pay as high as 20%
Redesign Policy is completely defeated
Am I right or wrong? No. You have to still route it through the CBN. Funny days ahead. |

“I was here on Thursday, but nobody, no staff of the bank, attended to us. I am hoping that they will attend to us today,” she said.
Evidence that CBN has no capacity to carry out its policy properly but to score political point and Politicians are going to capitalize on this to upgrade their vote buying method.
Nigerian Politicians are smarter & desperate bro, watch out how it's going to play out, the masses will still lose at the end Nah. Whoever is advising Buhari is an evil genius. They've anticipated all the counter moves and are two steps ahead. This news is the reality and contrary to the impression that El-Rufai was trying to create. |

The later seems to be relying heavily of cash inducement to gain access to the North. Which is why Buhari leveled the playing field. He also leveled the players and spectators 😆 |

Northerners knew some governors sold them to Tinubu and Buhari terminated the contract.

Robertgreene1: Interesting... A man I know was boasting that even if Tinubu gives him 10k on election day..that he will reject the money and still vote Obi..and we were cheering him on...But that was before all this madness started... Now that man is literally a beggar...all his money stuck in d bank and he cant withdraw shishi..give the man just 1k now and see if he won't vote Tinubu.. Even me that volunteered myself to work as a Labour Party agent on election day through my dad that is a friend to the LP chairman in my LGA...how will I even see the money to transport myself to and fro the polling unit they will post me to?..just where? The party chairman said the little "tips" they will give us is via transfer..I even helped him transfer some cash to some party agents the other day (or some of u peeps think LP don't need cash for the elections too?) I heard some big PDP Men in my town...some of the richest men in Igboland will even share dollars on election day sef( those men will always find their way around any hurdle) If bubu is serious about curbing vote buying..what happened to posting two or three agents of EfCC..ICPC..DSS..SSS..Civil Defense e.t.c..to every polling units nationwide to stop vote buying..l didn't even add police sef..cus those ones are useless... So Buhari that fought us Igbos during d civil war and has never hidden his hatred for us..will suddenly be fighting Tinubu and Atiku..so that an Igbo man Obi will become President and immediately release Kanu(Buhari's nemesis)... Interesting!!! Who says he's fighting Atiku? Haven't you seen Atiku rallies? Money dey. 🤣🤣🤣 |
