Please who has an idea of how many hours an average worker in Nigeria works??

For the purpose of learning, I would like this to be pushed to the front page so as to enlighten the ignorant ones amongst us the dangers of working long hours, who also think that working round the clock/long hours is "HARDWORKING" as some of my men would say.

The average working hours in Nigeria is 12hours, including weekends and public holidays. No rest, the more you eat, the more you get lean.

Nigerians work more than that: doing strenuous jobs for long hours. Imagine working at least 12 twelve hours everyday, including weekends and public holidays.

In Nigeria, office workers work an average of 10hours in a day (that is 50 or 60 hours in a week as weekend rules varies among enterprises), while factory workers work at least 12hours in a day including Saturdays, and in some places, on Sundays. That is 72 and 84 hours a week. It is even worse under contractors; they use you like a donkey.

That must be one of the factors that is reducing the average life span in Nigeria.

Does anyone wish to fight a war before it's fought? War is just the outcome of intolerable failed agreement. It happens accidently. The once that have been fought before now, no one sat down and wish them.

At op in addition to comparing what would 500 naira get in Nigeria to what 1 dollar would get in USA, you should also compare the proportion of minimum of 500 to minimum wage in Nigeria and the proportion of 1 dollar to minimum wage in the USA. This will give an indication of how many percentage of your salary goes into the purchase of an item in which these percentage will then be compared item by item for the countries.

This is how intelligent people discuss. Intelligent people discuss in real term not in nominal term. 1dollar or 1naira does not make an economy. When you mention minimum wage, employment, wealth dispersion, cost of living, inflation, CPI, social amenities, etc, then I know you are talking intelligent.

Working with an Easterner will only transfer the burden of the job to you while he walk about (with different excuses).

My experiences with most of them have not been sweet so far.
