ItsTutsi:Now let me clear your ignorance! Kogi state actually has 3 major tribes, the Igalas (who dominate Kogi east) and are the largest tribe, then the Ebira taos(Kogi central) and Okuns/yoruba (who dominate Kogi west). Now, the Okuns are clearly predominantly christians, this cannot be argued (around 80%). The Ebiras taos are clearly predominantly muslims (around 70%). While the Igala is the issue. It is difficult to tell between muslims and christians who is more here. However, over the years, more and more Igalas have been converting to christianity and it now seems as if the christians are now slightly more. You also have other smaller groups in Kogi like the Kakanda, Kupa & Bassa (who speak Nupe- like languages), the Ebira koto, Ogori magongo and Gwari. Kakanda, Kupa and Ebira koto are clearly predominantly muslims, while the Ogori magongo, Bassa and Gwari are dominantly christians. Now, my facts are easily verifiable, and do you know one way you can verify this? FACEBOOK. Go to facebook groups and fora! If you want to confirm, just google for an Igala facebook group, Ebira or Okun facebook groups, then pls check the names and profiles of the people you see there and judge! You don't just sit down in your town in Katsina state and conclude that some states are predominantly muslim because these states produce muslim governors! That's gross ignorance and stupidity. I have been an administrator of different middlebelt groups, both online and offline, so i know the demography of my people quite well! As for Nasarawa state, this state has around 30 or more ethnic groups! Of which some major ones are Eggon/Mada, Alago, Gwandara, Gbagyi, Migili, Nungu, Afo, Kanuri, Agatu, Tivs, Ekye, Nakere, Yeskwa, Jukun akyekura, Gade, Egbura (Ebira toto/opanda), Bassa, Hausa-fulanis e.t. c Now, Eggon/Mada are clearly the largest tribe which cannot be argued by any true indigene of Nasarawa state. Only that sometimes, they are regarded as distinct tribes. And even if they are divided, Eggons can still boast of being the largest tribe in the state (they have communities in 6 out of the 13 lgas of Nassarawa state). Alagos can also argue to be larger than Eggons and it could be true. Now Eggons and Madas have clear christian majority population, though with significant muslim minority. Some tribes like Migili, Yeskwa, Nakere (Buh)and Tivs have almost 100% christian population. Infact you can hardly find a muslim indigene from these tribes or a muslim dominated community. If you doubt me, check their facebook groups and confirm. Some tribes like Akyekura (jukun), Egbura, Kanuri and Hausa/fulani as usual have almost no single christian indigene. Tribes like Afo have a clear muslim majority with significant christian minority. Tribes like Gbagyi/Gade have a clear christian majority with significant muslim minority. While many other tribes like Alago, Agatu, Rindire, Gwandara e. t. c are almost 50/50, you cannot tell who is more. Now with this, tell me why anyone should just sit down and conclude rubbish about Nasarawa state? Cc mannatech |
ItsTutsi:Where and where have you been to in Nasarawa and Kogi states? How many indigenes do you know from these places? Do you know the complete demography of these places? Do you know the tribes that make up these states and the local govt areas they occupy? How much researches and inquires have you made about these people? How much of their history do you know? If you do not know all these, then just shut up and hide your face for displaying your ignorance here. I do not just cook up statistics here because i actually know the thorough demography of the northern region (especially the middlebelt and northern minority areas). |
mannatech:Pls are you referring to me? If you are, can you pls tell me by whom or where was this 60% muslim Kaduna state population ascertained? Can you please bring facts forward to buttress your claim? Out of the 23 local govt areas that make up Kaduna state, 11-12 of them are dominated by christians and indigenous tribes who are mostly Christians. Can you disprove this? |
ItsTutsi:There are about 50 indigenous tribes in Plateau state. Can you pls mention at least 3 of these tribes with a muslim majority? Only Tivs produce governors in Benue state and 99% of them are christians. Where do you want the muslim candidate to come from? The sky? Taraba is the only state here with a significant muslim population. 2 out of the 3 senators of the state are muslims. Infact there was a particular time when the 3 senators from Taraba were all muslims. Even Taraba south where 85 or more % are christians, yet they produced a muslim senator. Same thing with Plateau, in Plateau central, Ibrahim Mantu (former deputy senate president) a muslim, was once the senator of the zone and this zone is nothing less than 80% christians. Now tell me, is it possible for a christian to produce senator in an overwhelmingly muslim dominated zone in the north? Hell no! If it has happened, show me. Governorsip in Taraba is rotated according to tribe and senatorial district and not by religion. The first governor was Mumuye (the largest tribe in Taraba north) and they are mostly christians. When power came to Taraba central where the fulanis have a larger population, they lost it to a Chamba person (which was no one's fault but theirs), now power has gone to Taraba south (Jukun land) and this zone has the lowest muslim population. So you can see that it is quite fair. Now tell me why power is not rotated to Kaduna south or Gombe south? For instance, a christian has not produced governor in Nasarawa or Kogi states (which have at least 50% christian each), but no one can ever accuse anyone because anybody that knows the internal politics of both states will know that tribe and tribalism is the most important factor for governorship selection in both states. |
ItsTutsi:Can't you see your level of bigotry? Is governorship election supposed to be based on religion? The kind of christianity practiced in the north heavily discourages politics. This was the mentality that made many northern christians lag behind in politics for long. Another thing is that most northern Christians used to think that they and the muslims were one and all northerners together. They are just realizing that they have been wrong all this while and things are gradually changing. Only that it will take a long time for them to catch up with the muslims who have been taught and mastered politics coupled with religious bigotry from time immemorial. People who have been taught that it is a sin for an infidel to assume political authority over them. |
ItsTutsi:What is this? Don't you understand simple English? I said there is no clear majority in Kaduna state just like in Nigeria...... Christians & muslims, who is more in Nigeria? Christians will say they are majority, muslims will say they are majority. And if you truly try to balance the statistics with states and ethnicity, you will see that it is almost a tie..... This is the same case with Kaduna state. There is no clear majority. Pls if you have facts, bring them forward. I have my own facts. |
ItsTutsi:Kaduna state is almost equally split between adherents of both religions. If there is any margin at all, it will be very small. I know the in and out and the complete demography of Kaduna state. If you have facts, pls try to disprove it. Kaduna state does not begin and end in Giwa, Kubau, Zaria or Makarfi, okay? There is an entire LGA, towns and communities in Kaduna state without a single mosque |
ItsTutsi:What does this rubbish about Muslim dominated Kaduna means? The entire Kaduna south senatorial district with 8 LGAs is Christian dominated. Other LGAs in Kaduna central like Chikun, Kajuru and Kaduna south are also christian dominated. Even Lere LG that is under Kaduna north is christian dominated. Out of the 23 LGAs that make up Kaduna state, 11-12 of them are domiinated by Christians, so stop spreading your fake facts. mannatech, i guess you'd have explained this better for him. |
senatordave1:How can you say only Warri south LGA is developed in Warri urban area? The entire Uvwie and Udu LGAs are urbanized and now Uvwie is developing into Ughelli south already. |
Oria1999:Where else in Edo state can be called a city? Ekpoma, Auchi, Okada, Ubiaja, Uromi or where? In fact there is no where in Edo state that you can compare to Ughelli/Agbor/Sapele in Delta state aside Benin. I've lived in both states almost all my life. |
udeh3:Sincerely Delta state would have been the most developed. The only problem is lack of modern infrastructures and amenities. If Delta state can be well organized, men, it would be among the highest ranking states in Nigeria. |
nnamdijonathan:I really don't understand how people are ranking Edo above Delta state. Edo that has only Benin as the only city and developed place, Unlike Delta that has Warri and Asaba. |
engrchykae:How can you say Delta has only Asaba? What about Warri? ...you don't know that Warri is 2-3 times bigger than Asaba? Warri just has a problem with bad roads. Otherwise, it is bigger than Aba and Onitsha in size. Delta state also has Ughelli, Agbor, Oghara and other fast developing towns. |
mtis: Oh I get it. My English is too complex for Kenyans to comprehend. Or maybe Chinese (the new official language of Kenyan workforce) Or Hindi (the official language of Kenyan elite and upper class). Sorry, my bad. Lol |
ekesol:Gbam ! |
gallivant:Seems like you are insane. You don't just take people's comments and interpret the way you like from your confined mind. What I meant was that no other African country was better than Nigeria in every sphere. Some are better than us in some spheres while we are better than them and others likewise in some other aspects. |
Mynd44:FYI , fulani herdsmen are now a worse threat in the NE to Boko haram...... And so far so good, it is clear that Buhari is taking sides with the fulani herdsmen. Watch how the Bachama people, Jukun people, Mambilla, Higgi, Mbula, Tangale, Chamba, Marghi, Waja, Bura and all these non fulani and non kanuri tribes will vote massively against Buhari in 2019. ....They did it before in 2011 and will do it again in 2019. Many people were just deceived by CHANGI in 2015 and have now realized their mistakes. |
safarigirl:Yes, APC won governorship elections in Nasarawa and even in Plateau state but lost presidential. The reason is simple -- INTERNAL TRIBALISM! Eggon/Mada are the largest tribe in Nasarawa state and all the other tribes in the state are working against them from producing governor, cos they know what they will be in for. Same thing in Plateau state, all the other tribes ganged up against Berom (the largest tribe) cos it was obvious that this tribe through Jang wanted to turn Plateau to their private estate. |
safarigirl:Pls pls get your facts correct. Buhari has never won elections in Nasarawa state, not in 2011, not in 2015. |
NgeneUkwenu:Which Nasarawa state? The one in China or Nigeria? Buhari has never won Nasarawa, pls go and check your records again. In 2015, Plateau and Nasarawa together with FCT were the places he did not win in North central. Pls stop embarrassing yourself here cos you are speaking with a core north-central indigene! |
Caseless:Buhari can never win NC. Impossible. He can only win Niger state and perhaps Kwara state (if Saraki supports him). |
Mynd44:You really do not understand the demographical make up of the north east, do you? Most tribes in Taraba and Adamawa have been heavily affected by fulani herdsmen which Buhari has done nothing about. Even in 2015 elections, at the height of APC changi sweep, Buhari still did not get up to 80% of the NE votes, how much now? Let me tell you one thing, 95% of the christians in the North-east will not vote Buhari. Just as they rejected him in 2011. And if you know the north east, you will agree that at least 1/3 of the people there are christians. |
NgeneUkwenu:Rubbish. North central can hardly be rigged! Why didn't you include Plateau & Nasarawa to your fake wish na. Bello can only rig election in Ebira axis. He cannot try that in Igala and Okun areas. And that is useless cos as usual Ebiras always vote for Buhari and they are in minority. As for Benue state, Tivs do not play such nonsense politics of rigging. Go and check history of Benue elections. |
Mynd44:This census is a sham. There is no way that Buhari will have more support in the NE than in the NW. Everyone knows that NW (Hausa heartland) is Buhari's greatest stronghold. The highest Buhari can get from NE is 55-60%. Mark my words. As time goes on, watch Buhari's support dwindle in the NC. It will go as low as 30% or even lower before the 2019 election. |
Caseless:How can you prove this? |
aquatex:Wikipedia can be edited by anyone. A better source is needed. |
Kenyanstar:Where did you see me arguing that other countries are not developing too? Many African countries are developing. Just that there is no need for the comparisons. We are all developing at our different paces and in different sectors. |
obaaderemi:Many Nigerians are very shallow minded and easily deceived. They just see a picture of another city in Africa or perhaps just tour a single beautiful part of that country, then they hurriedly declare that country better than Nigeria. Truth is that no pure black african country is better than Nigeria in all ramifications. |
Daejoyoung:Kano and Kaduna are quite developing better than most Nigerian states, the only problem with these places is the illiteracy of the masses. Kaduna has a better social life than Kano because of the high christian population. Education is also somewhat better in Kaduna. |
shervydman:Many people just comment irrationally and with negative emotions on Nigeria's development cos they feel Nigeria deserves better than what we have on ground. |
arinzeejikonye:Oga mi, I troway salute and 3 gboza 4u ![]() Keep up the good work. I admire how much you keep in touch with development in this country. arinzeejikonye:Where is this located? |

..i can decide to be deluded and a bigot by saying enugu and abia have 50% Muslims,I'm just reading and laughing at ur stupidity..u should have also said Zamfara and sokoto have 50% christians..dude no matter what I say,it won't convince u bcuz u have made up ur mind, but ur highly delusional to say kogi, nassarawa and kaduna have 50% christians
,whatever suites ur narrative and makes u feel better..thats why y kaduna has never had Christian governor apart from that other guy
