frankyychiji: Shame on you! There are more Muslims in PDP than in other political party in Nigeria.
My question is, when will a Yoruba Muslim be Chief Imam and be the one to site and announce the moon?
Once upon a time, I was traveling by road from kano to Lagos. When we got to around Okene which by the way considered to be more SW than been a northern region by an average Hausa man, some of the hausa Muslims in our bus had to pray in a nearby mosque. But I noticed that rather than go into the almost empty mosque to pray, they pitched outside of the mosque instead. A little enquiry told me that, though it was a Muslim praying ground, the Hausa Muslims nevertheless dont consider it holy enough to go inside and pray alongside the locals.
I don't really give a damn about that, my only problem with Islam are those using it to kill, maim and destroy others. You should know that Hausas regard all southern and middlebelt muslims as fake. Be it yoruba, edo, Igala or Ebira muslims, all fake! Even Nupe & Gbagyi muslims, most of whom speak Hausa and answer Hausa names are not safe in the hands of Hausas |

The Hausa Muslims had to do the prayer again because it was done by a Yoruba Muslim even though he used his money to build the mosque for them. Yoruba Muslims, you are not a real Muslims in the face of your masters Hausa Muslims. Leave all these Yoruba muslims to be arguing nonsense here. When there was religious crisis in Jos, Kaduna or Kano, you need to see yoruba muslims running in their thousands to christian dominated areas for safety, cos Hausa fulanis slaughter them like chickens. |

They ar never Muslim nd I don't consider them as one, am neither Sunnis or shia (we are less concern that in Yoruba land) but for them to hide under the umbrella of Islam to be doing all these is against the will of Allah. No matter how surratul kafirunah has settled all these " Your religion is yours nd My religion is mine " It is forbidden in Islam to practice or partake in any other religion as far ad u ar devoted Muslim.

I jejely left her and follow my fellow southerner. They hav no identity When she said she would marry a Hausa, she probably meant a northern christian and not necessarily a Hausa muslim. She definitely knows that southerners address her people as Hausas hence the use of that word. A lot of northern and middlebelt minorities have no problem being addressed as Hausa by southerners, cos they know that most southerners will never know the difference no matter how they explain. I am a middlebelter born and bred in the south, but my family has always been addressed as hausas here by all neighbors, to an extent that it has stuck and we now identify our own selves as Hausa. You can imagine? I am always against it and correct people but my parents seem very ok with it. |

AreaFada2: That pressing is the "chest pressure" symptom and simply part of sleep paralysis alongside being "awake, fear, immobility, awareness of surrounding, feeling presence of other, breathing diffculty, etc".
The most likely reason is that the Rapid Eye Movement (REM) phase of your sleep cycle is disturbed. REM is a deep phase of sleep in which your brain renders your muscles paralyzed. This is so because it is the phase in which you dream. If your muscles were not paralyzed you could act out the dream experience. Like getting up from bed and running and banging into the wall or run into a road with busy traffic!
If that REM phase is interrupted abruptly and your brain has not freed the muscles from paralysis, you get that experience of being "pressed".
My deduction from simple anatomy/physiology is that most likely your breathing muscles also undergo a slight paralysis but good enough to enable you breath while asleep. But a rapid need to breath faster in that state of fear causes that feeling of dread when you cannot breath as fast as you would like. I stand to be corrected. Very good scientific explanation. But why is it that most times, this experience is always characterized with nightmares? Like being strangled in your dream or something more terrible? This is why many assume it to be a witchcraft attack. |

You will be having several sleepless nights, competitors will be after your customers and life, and lenders will hound you the way they are hunting Innoson. And don't forget the tax men... Especially in Lagos, you pay land use charge, local government tax, LASAA charges, LIRS yearly taxes, and there other association fees you pay all the time. It's as if the Nigerian economy is anti business, and I still don't know how young people can make a break even. I hear you mention MTN and GLO and Dangote, the truth is, I'd you probe the depth of the fiances of these business, you'd know it isn't a one man show. Their invests are senators, governors, ex presidents and current leaders. Please Stay with school. You could even become a politician if you end as a civil servant, or maybe end up running a parastatal or becoming a CEO. You have less stress and you can easily jump ship if the current company you are working for is sinking. Business is insane in Nigeria. Too many forces against you. Please don't waste 20 something years as I have. My younger brother with a PhD is currently the head of language faculty in Atiku's university. Guy makes about half a million monthly and currently owns several properties in Ogun and Lagos while I'm still struggling to pay workers salary. Worrying about maintenance of my factory equipment, worrying about getting fuel for the buses and trucks, and cursing my mechanic and made that a new competitor is opening opposite me. Maybe you are cut for it... Anyways, A word is enough for the... @Brosthink, what this guy Is saying above is not always true. Unless you have enough money or a rich sponsor to sponsor your education up to your Phd level (which will take not less than 10 years) and you also have connections to get a good job after graduation. Then i advice you to go for business (but better still learn a handwork) cos not all ogas are reliable to nwa boys. Many of us after spending many years in school, still come out to start business from the scratch like our mates who never went to school. Education in Nigeria is not worth it! Unless you get to study a professional course like medicine and pharmacy. My best advice for you is to learn a good handwork first and then go for part time education while you develop your business at the same! Never give all you have to education in Nigeria unless you are from a rich background. Funny enough, I am from a fairly rich background, but i regretted giving my all to education since 6 years ago, cos as soon as i got to my final year in school, my sponsor started dissapointing me seriously and i became frustrated and managed to graduate. This affected my results and gave me an extra year and the worse of all, the course i studied was like a useless course which has no job prospect in Nigeria. With this bitter experience, i swore to myself to give younger ones and intending admission seekers a piece of my heart, never to make same mistake again. My younger brother is about to take his jamb and i made it compulsory for him to enrol and learn some advanced IT skills and if possible practice for 1 whole year before he starts thinking of writing post Ume and seeking for admission. Don't make the same mistake I made! |

Well you are wrong cos PDP will not present a christian candidate but most likely a Hausa fulani Muslim candidate? Southern Kaduna people will not vote Buhari cos they know that he will never be the type to secure their interests, not about religion. |

senatordave1: Leave lagos,i think both religions are of equal proportions there.let us focus on kaduna.the southern kaduna people can easily use their majority in southern zone, their 4 lgas in the central zone to dominate the governorship.again, most senators from the central zone are muslims which isnt a coincidence.the only time the christians produced a governor,it was by a slight margin in 2011 while muslims always win heavily. Now i just see that you are arguing for arguing sake. You just don't want to learn. You are not from this region and someone who is very familiar with the history and politics of the place is telling you the whole thing and you are not even paying attention to any details. There are only 3 southern kaduna dominated LGAs in central kaduna. The other one is in Kaduna north. I have stressed this point many times and this shows that you are not following. First of all, Southern kaduna has never been united as one people not until few years ago. I even doubt any complete unity now (especially when it comes to local internal politics). I think there was a time (in the late 90s or so), where there was a serious debate on whether Kaduna state should be divided and how it should be divided. Do you know that the Gbagyi representative came out to speak and rejected other southern kaduna people? He claimed that Hausas and Gbagyis have been neighbors and brothers for centuries and as such they (Gbagyis) will not join other Southern kaduna people to form a new state. Do you know that in Chikun LGA, Gbagyis sometimes favour Hausas over their fellow southern kaduna people in political appointment? Infact let me not start washing dirty linens in public here. SOKAPU is doing a great work in uniting all southern kaduna people, let me not dig up ugly pasts here. Things are gradually getting better, but believe me, it was worse in the past. Zaria always plays divide and rule with southern kaduna tribes just as the Hausas do with Southern Nigeria. Zaria can decide to pick a Gbagyi man for deputy governorship, then come and see the way thousands of Gbagyi people will abandon a Southern kaduna candidate and vote for a Hausa man, just to clinch deputy governorship cos they believe that a Gbagyi deputy governor will better serve their interests than a South kd governor. This is exactly the same thing that happens in Gombe state and is the reason why a Southern Gombe man or Christian will never rule Gombe. Instead of the whole Gombe south to unite and present one candidate for governor, the Tangale & Waja people will rather fight themselves dirty over senatorship and deputy governorship. Did you just say muslims and christians are equal in Lagos population? Pls, I was taking you to be a very enlightened person. I hope I don't change my mind on that. |
Politics › Re: President Muhammadu Buhari Is A Religion In North – Femi Fani-kayode by Nowenuse: 2:24am On Dec 23, 2017 |
senatordave1: If you say that southern kaduna refers to all non hausa fulani tribes in kaduna,i agree.there are more numerous than the hausas.but the hausas are the largest ethnicity in kaduna, dont argue that please.but i still think that muslims are more.afterall if not why are muslims not dominating guber seats in plateau, taraba, benue where christians are more? Or why are christians not dominating in kwara, niger, gombe, oyo, adamawa where muslims are more? Leave lagos,i think both religions are of equal proportions there.let us focus on kaduna.the southern kaduna people can easily use their majority in southern zone, their 4 lgas in the central zone to dominate the governorship.again, most senators from the central zone are muslims which isnt a coincidence.the only time the christians produced a governor,it was by a slight margin in 2011 while muslims always win heavily. If with all my explanation, you still did not understand why Zaria has a stronger political power over Southern kaduna, then i might just have to give up on this, cos it's obvious you are now arguing for arguin sake. Someone asking why muslims do not dominate Benue state politically is like asking why christians do not dominate Sokoto state politically. To start with, can you mention one single town or LGA in Benue where muslims are majority? Only Tivs produce governors in Benue state and they are 99% christians. Pls if you know any single Tiv village that has more muslims, let me know. In Plateau state, the indigenous muslims are just very small. Out of the 50 tribes or more that make up the state, only about 2 indigenous tribes I know that are predominantly muslims and none of them are even among the top 5 largest tribes in the state. People think Plateau state has many muslims because of the Hausa settlers that make noise in Jos. Those ones are not indigenes of the state and can never be considered in some political posts. Taraba is the only state where anyone can argue on why muslims are not dominating. Cos they have a large population here. Muslims have occupied every other position in Taraba state except governorship. Currently, I think muslims have more senators than christians and could possibly have more house of reps than christians. So there is no real Christian political domination in Taraba. The only reason why I think muslims fail to produce governor in Taraba, is the zonning issue based on senatorial district. I have explained this earlier to ItsTutsi (the person who made me join this thread). Let me requote the entire reply i gave him, when he asked the same question you are now asking about why muslims are not dominating Plateau, Benue & Taraba. But pls next time, try to read all through a thread before joinning in any argument, to save us stress of repitition. Cos if you had read my reply to the other guy, you wouldn't have asked this!! Nowenuse: There are about 50 indigenous tribes in Plateau state. Can you pls mention at least 3 of these tribes with a muslim majority?
Only Tivs produce governors in Benue state and 99% of them are christians. Where do you want the muslim candidate to come from? The sky?
Taraba is the only state here with a significant muslim population. 2 out of the 3 senators of the state are muslims. Infact there was a particular time when the 3 senators from Taraba were all muslims. Even Taraba south where 85 or more % are christians, yet they produced a muslim senator. Same thing with Plateau, in Plateau central, Ibrahim Mantu (former deputy senate president) a muslim, was once the senator of the zone and this zone is nothing less than 80% christians. Now tell me, is it possible for a christian to produce senator in an overwhelmingly muslim dominated zone in the north? Hell no! If it has happened, show me.
Governorsip in Taraba is rotated according to tribe and senatorial district and not by religion. The first governor was Mumuye (the largest tribe in Taraba north) and they are mostly christians. When power came to Taraba central where the fulanis have a larger population, they lost it to a Chamba person (which was no one's fault but theirs), now power has gone to Taraba south (Jukun land) and this zone has the lowest muslim population. So you can see that it is quite fair.
Now tell me why power is not rotated to Kaduna south or Gombe south?
For instance, a christian has not produced governor in Nasarawa or Kogi states (which have at least 50% christian each), but no one can ever accuse anyone because anybody that knows the internal politics of both states will know that tribe and tribalism is the most important factor for governorship selection in both states. |

senatordave1: Oga,i like your facts and evidences.there are good but your very biased.it seems you dont understand what is urban and rural.is there a settlement as urbanises like zaria in southern kaduna? No.kafanchan is the largest settlement in southern kaduna and it is not yet a city.that a place is heavily populous doesnt mean its urban.in northern kaduna apart from zaria, the other settlements are not urbanised and mostly peopled by indigenes.if kafanchan becomes a city, majority of the inhabitants will be foreigners.i asked you to mention any city in nigeria mostly peopled by indigenes, you didnt. Another biased point is you saying that hausa/fulanus count their cows during census.it rubbishes all youd fine points.this may be true but even your southern kaduna also inflates population.there is no village in nigeria that doesnt inflate their population.even my village in cross river recorded a population of 3000 when were less than 1000.dont narrow it to the hausas alone,na normal thing.its just like saying only the hausas rig elections when every area in nigeria does it or claiming that only them are corrupt.but i can confidently tell you that the south inflates population and rigs election even mors than the north especially ss/se. You are only misunderstanding me that's why you think I am bias. In Makurdi for instance, Tivs are the majority in the city and outnumber every other group of people combined. In Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti people actually outnumber every other group of outside settlers combined. In Katsina city, Katsina state indigenes most likely outnumber every other indigenes of other states combined. But in a city like Jos which is extremely cosmopolitan, I doubt that the number of Plateau indigenes will outnumber people from other states combined. This is my point. In the Nigerian context, Cities that have had no much history of commerce, education or mineral exploration are usually more or less homogenous. Cities like the examples I gave above like Makurdi, Ado-Ekiti and Katsina, were cities created solely for administrative reasons. So, your point of cities not being dominated by the natives does not apply in all cases. And pls, I understand very well what rural/urban connotes. The fact that the UK has one mighty city london which beats all German cities in terms of size, does not make UK more urbanized than Germany. Southern kaduna may have more smaller towns than northern kaduna. Besides, I am not arguing that Southern kaduna is more urbanized than Zaria. All I'm against is you tagging the whole of Southern Kaduna as rural areas. Southern kaduna has many towns, they are just smaller. For instance, a LGA like Jemaa or Zangon kataf might have at least 5-7 towns with at least 30k people each. because every tribe or subtribe usually has it's own chiefdom headquarters (which is usually a town). As for inflation of census results. Some people are more notorious than others. Especially those who are desperate for domination and the desire to dominate others as seen with Hausa fulani. Southern kaduna people have no such desperation. Another fact that will help us settle all this argument will be to provide the telcom statistics of Kaduna state, LGA by LGA. I think i have once come across sth like this. |

He knows the southern kaduna people will vote against him but as incumbent either they votd for him by force or he will make sure their votes are watered down or create confusion and chaos there while other zones are peaceful.the northwest is his area,he will win there heavily with at least 10 million or more votes.so you think all the votes gej got in ss and obj got in sw are real? A lot are fake and inflated.obj had 1.3 million out of 1.4 million in ogun in 2003,can you beat that? Na buhari go come mumu? What do you mean when you say religious calculation? Southern kaduna people will not naturally vote in accordance with Zaria people. How does that relate to religion. Yes of course, unless the election is rigged as usual. Only then will the margin be higher. But this time, the opposition will fight heavily against rigging. |

Where in the world do we have a city where the indigenous people are more? Almost everypart of southern kaduna is rural therefore it will not attract much settlers and kafanchan is still a developing town.just as there are several christians in northern kaduna, there are several muslims down south.rivers state cannot be used as an example because more than 50 percent of the population are non indigenes.it is the lagos of the south south.almost same applies in delta.use a state where majority of the people are indigenous to that state with low economic activities which would not attract much settlers like cross river, edo, ekiti, bayelsa, ondo, enugu, ebonyi which has same features like zamfara and jigawa.i dont understand your idea of southern kaduna, please explain more because i see southern kaduna as only te southern senatorial district and northern kaduna as northern senatorial zone while excluding the central area.the dominance of governorship seat by muslims also point to a slight muslim edge.i have not seen any state where a particular religion is dominant yet they dont dominate the guber seat. Southern Kaduna as a cultural area is different from Kaduna south senatorial district. The former refers to all the tribes south of Zaria who are not hausa fulani. That is what SOKAPU (Southern kaduna people's union) stands for. Irrespective of your senatorial district, as long as you are in Kaduna state and located south of Zaria, you are from southern kaduna. Lagos state always had Muslim governors until now irrespective of the fact that christians are majority in the state. Go and check the history of Kaduna state. In old Kaduna state, Southern kaduna people were a voiceless minority. Katsina people produced the governor and leaders while Zaria produced the deputy. S. Kaduna took the crumbs. When katsina had their own state, the new Kaduna state was structured to favour Zaria people politically. If not, can you explain how come Giwa LGA that shares boundary with Katsina state was dragged into Kaduna central while Kauru and Lere LGAs that are clearly located side by side with Chikun and Kajuru in the central axis, Kauru was dragged to the south while Lere was taken to the north. All of this to weaken the strength of Christians in Kaduna central and ensure that Zaria people always produce 2 senators. Hausa fulanis are very smart in politics. You can see how influential they are in Nigerian politics and how they are dealing with their fellow yoruba & Igbo majority groups. How much more a dozen of scattered minority groups. Here is the map of Kaduna state below, analyze it You can see how both the pink, blue and yellow colours representing the 3 senatorial districts cut across Central Kaduna.

Like I said, China and India are the most populous countries in the world and are dominantly monogamous. Down in Nigeria, what about Benue state? Is Benue not more populated than Zamfara or many northern states? Or is Benue also an economic centre as you claim Rivers state is? The whole of S. Kaduna is rural? How come in the 2006 census, Zangon kataf LGA with over 300k people was higher than every other LGA in Kaduna north except Zaria which was around 400k? In Kaduna north, aside Zaria, 3 LGAs, Kubau, Sabongari & Soba LGA had above 200k people while in Kaduna south, 4LGAs Jemaa, Kaura, Kagarko & Kachia had above 200k people. Lere LGA in Kaduna north had around 330k people and lets not forget that this area is not dominated by Hausa. All this, inspite of the fact that Hausa fulanis were counting their cows and rams. So, just forget it. Southern kaduna is not what you think.... Go and check the census. It is on wikipedia |

senatordave1: I like your analysis.they are on point.but i believe the muslims in kaduna state are slightly more than christians since most parts of kaduna central and kaduna north are muslim dominated.moreover, the hausa fulani the largest tribe are mostly muslims.why would you even dare say that thr minority areas of southern kaduna is more populous than the zaria areas? Southern kaduna is the least most populous district in kaduna, you can check census data.again,a monogamous community can never be more populous than a polygamous one. In summary, the main topic was about buhari being a religion in the north.buhari has always won kaduna and will still win it by a larger margin come 2019.i see him getting close to two million votes while pdp will not get up to 500,000. Yes, Buhari may win Kaduna come 2019, but the margin will be small, just like in 2011 when Buhari got 1.3million votes in Kaduna and Goodluck got 1.2million votes. It will never be like 2015 when so many southern kaduna people either voted for Buhari or stayed away from the elections due to disinterest. |

I never said that Southern kaduna is more populated than northern kaduna. I only said that in terms of indigenous population, Southern kaduna indigenes outnumber Zaria indigenes. The major population of Kaduna north is centred in Zaria and a large portion of the population of Zaria are not indigenes of Zaria. Unlike a place like Kafanchan or other southern Kaduna areas that are mostly populated by indigenes. Most parts of central kaduna are not muslim dominated. Chikun, Kajuru and Kaduna south are not muslim dominated and they are in Kaduna central. In Kaduna north, Lere LGA has the largest tribe as Kurama and they are predominantly christians. There are also other tribes like Kahugu, Amo & Gure in that same LGA and they are all christians. Can you show me any LGA in Kaduna south that has more muslims? Hell no! There is none. Can you now see how the christians are more spread out than the muslims? Yes, muslims could be more in Kaduna due to the higher immigration of muslims, but even if they are more, the margin would be very small. Your issue of polygamous society does not apply in all cases. Rivers and Delta states are more populated than Zamfara and Jigawa states but the former are mostly monogamous states. The 2 most populous countries in the world are not predominantly polygamous. |

ItsTutsi: haha I don't really care too,but it's like an insult to my reasoning and he took me as a fool for him to have said kaduna has 50% christians..its like saying America has 50% Muslim..hahaha I have gone to school too If anyone claims America has 50% muslims, the person can do well to list the states and cities in America that are muslim dominated. Chikena. I claim Kaduna state is around 50/50 and I brought out facts to back this up which neither you or anyone can disprove. Kaduna state is divided into 23 local govt areas and 3 senatorial districts. Out of these 3 districts, the entire Kaduna south senatorial district with 8 LGAs is completely christian dominated. In Kaduna central & north, 4 local govts which are Chikun, Kajuru, Lere and Kaduna south LGAs have christian majority/large areas which are christian dominated. Chikun is dominated and controlled by the Gbagyis who are of course overwhelmingly christians. Kajuru is dominated by the Adara people, In Lere, the Kurama are clearly the largest tribe and are mostly christians. Kaduna south needs no much explanation. Now this does not mean that there are no numerous christian communities in other parts of Kaduna, but simply they are not large enough to claim majority or up to half of the population of any other LGA. Otherwise we have many Gbagyi communities in Igabi LGA. We have Kurama christian villages in Kubau LGA. We have Kamuku christian villages in Birnin gwari LGA and last but no the least, we have many Indigenous Zaria (or Hausa fulani christians) from Kaduna north. We also have many settlers from southern kaduna and other Christians who live in Zaria and other parts of kaduna north just as we have many muslim settlers who live in southern kaduna and some muslim indigenous communities too! So you see my friend, facts rule! Provide your facts or just shut up. There are over 50 different tribes in Kaduna state and only Hausas and fulanis are predominantly muslims, the other dozens of tribes who are found spread all over in at least 15 of the 23 LGAs that make up Kaduna state are predominantly christians! Or can you mention one single tribe in Kaduna state apart from Hausa fulani that has more muslims? |

mannatech: No. Bro, Kaduna state demographic based on religion is not analysed by only indigenous residents but mostly by its present residents who are from other states. Look at the opinions of people from other regions about the north and that will tell u the willingness of southerners to migrate to the north. Same cannot be said about the Hausa/fulani/kanuri from other neighboring states like katsina(which was once part of Kaduna state) who flood Kaduna to hustle or the nigeriens, Chadians who will quickly claim Nigerians even without proper documents. Yes bro i get you perfectly well. But pls, i never based my argument on indigenes alone. As much as a lot of Hausas and muslims from other states flock Kaduna, don't you think that many christians from other states also flock Kaduna? Do you know how many Igbos and Benue people lived and were born in Kaduna for instance? Many other christians from places like Plateau, Taraba, Kogi, yoruba and even Niger delta also live in Kaduna (although yes I will agree with you that the muslim immigration to Kaduna should be slightly higher) considering the geographical location of Kaduna state (being closer to muslim states than christian states). Infact if we are talking about original Kaduna indigenes (Zaria indigenes VS Southern Kaduna indigenes) there will be no need for any arguments. Southern kaduna indigenes willl beat Zaria indigenes in population hands down. Too many people from Katsina state already living in Kaduna (considering the old Kaduna state). It's like Plateau and Nasarawa. Too many Nasarawa and Benue people living in Jos (cos of old Benue-Plateau state). |
