Since it's so hard to have someone credible that's unpopular, if it must be northern man, atiku is ok. Atiku is a very secular northerner. He has no time for religious extremism and bullshit. Afterall he is from a religiously mixed hometown, LGA and state. Adamawa state is about half christian and half muslim in population but everyone loves him there. He never discriminates based on tribe or religion, unlike that fulani herdsman cattle rearer from Daura. |

Farmerforlife: Go back and read my comment. I never said people hate Islam. I said they hate Muslims, and apparently, it is only because they are Muslims. Well, I am a Muslim, I have found out that if my rights are taken away from me, Christians will applaud the decision, and not help me. Should I love and continue to be good to such people? I don't think so. This lady is not a radical, she is not bombing anyone, and it is not realistic that some professions be restricted to certain people because of their religious prersuasion, so 'finding out the rules before applying for law' does not wash.
I am not disputing the rules of the law school or interested in that, that is a job for the Muslim rights lawyers who want to do the right thing for their sister. I am only reacting to the comments on NL, by those hateful individuals professing to be Christians. If this is what Christianity is about, then it is Satanic. I wonder if this is what the Jesus in their bible would have commented in this situation.
Thank you for your time, but actions always speak louder than words. Then how do you know that all the people commenting here against the motion are christians? Some are atheists, Agnostics, Eckankars, other religions and even fellow muslims who understand that the law must take it's course above every religious belief. Stop accusing people of the same crime you are committing by wrong generalization. |
Career › Re: Nigerians React To The Hijab-Wearing Law Graduate Who Wasn't Called To Bar by Nowenuse: 4:00pm On Dec 15, 2017 |
Farmerforlife: Did you read what Christians are commenting? Only Christians are allowed to dislike people because of religion? Not one Christian dissented or disapproved of the hateful comments made.
This lady has nothing to do with either radicalism or terrorism. She is a Muslim woman who wishes to follow the tenets of her religion concerning dressing. After spending 5 years in a course, she is expected to choose between her religion or her lost education. I do not see what your implications of terrorism and radicalism has to do with the issue.
I am sorry, your last statement rings hollow in my ears. Islam may or may not be a religion of peace. That is not the point. What I have discovered today is that, going by a sampling of its followers on NL, Christianity is truly a religion of spite, hatred, and rancour... all Satanic traits.
It disgusts me, frankly. In my work, I always make sure I accomodate all the religious requirements of those working with me. I treat everyone equally regardless of religion, and encourage them equally on how to improve their lives, and have even sponsored some of them, regardless of their beliefs, to higher education, when they wished. I can see now that the Christians among them are probably thinking of me as a big fool for doing that. I just hope that my other Muslim brothers take a lesson from how Muslims are thought of by Christians. You are just being unreasonable and whipping up sentiments unnecessarily. Common, you are acting immaturely going by the way you describe yourself. The law profession has it's official dress code for God's sake. If you know that you cannot abide by it because of your religious beliefs, why not stay away? It's as simple as that. Nothing involving hatred here. |

diadem10: You still don't get it, do you? Did you realise an electorate must win over 30 states before he's elected?
Look here, we don't give birth like rats and the reason why our population could be a bit low but the point is SW states delivered for Jonathan in 2011. Even Tinubu rallied and spoke to the Lagosian to vote for PDP in the federal election but ACN in the state election!
Abeg, swerve if you've got nothing to say. Pls how old are you? Cos it's obvious i am wasting my time with an immature deluded teenager. No, you musn't win 30 states to become president. Goodluck lost 12 states of the north and Osun in 2011, yet he was declared president. Buhari lost the 11 states of the SE/SS and Plateau, Nasarawa, Taraba making it 14, yet he is our president. Now, let me educate you. The law is that you must get at least 25% votes in 2/3 of the 36 states (24 states) of Nigeria. Goodluck and Buhari got this in 2011 & 2015. Now in 2011, (let us remove all yoruba states) Goodluck won in the 11 states of of the SE/SS. He won in 7 states of the NC/NE + FCT. Making it 19 states. He got at least 25% votes ore more in Kaduna, Gombe, Kebbi, Borno, Niger and i think either Bauchi/ Kano or/and Jigawa and Lagos state (which we know that at least 25% or more of the voters are not yorubas). So, either ways he met the 25% votes in 2/3 of the 36 (24 states) even if we remove all the yoruba votes. |

diadem10: This one is no more Ibo? Lol.
The rate at which Ibo denounce their tribe is funny yet would scream blue murder when we thrash the same tribe. Lol
And you have the nerves to say without the SW votes, Gej would have won in 2011? The same SW region which Gej swooped except Osun? Lol.
Even Gej regretted over his dependence on the Ibos and the reason why he was constantly visiting the SW for several months to make stupid promises before the Election, even Fashola wasn't happy with the way Jonathan was disrupting traffic flows with his stupid visitation because we never asked him to. Lol. See, If you think I am one of those Igbos with whom you guys display your utmost bigotry with Afonja/Igbo nonsense, then you are clearly mistaken. I am from the north central. In 2011, The north (NC, NE and Southern Kaduna) gave more votes to Jonathan than yorubas. No core yoruba state gave Goodluck up to 1 million votes in that election, but Plateau, Kaduna and Benue gave Goodluck more than 1 million votes each. Go and look at the election results again, calculate all the yoruba votes in that election then minus it from his total votes and see if it would have stopped Goodluck from winning. |

tifany89: Guy you are very sensible and obviously a truthful person . Since when has it become a crime for people to migrate for whatever reason ? People even travel overseas and then yorubas want to die on top of Igbo matter that they went to seek for greener pastures in other states within the same country. The guy is so ignorant that he feels majority of Igbos are outside their region , how myopic can someone be. Wit the way they go about the whole thing , one would think there are no yorubas residing outside their zones . Most of us don't like engaging in all these childish banters but the lies and falsehood are getting too much and if not countered vehemently could begin to look like the truth in no distant time . They are just being very shallow, especially those yorubas who have never left the south-west. Well, I won't blame them much. People who never travel out of their homelands tend to have a very myopic view of life. You can never find a well travelled yoruba person talking like this. Yorubas are littered all over this country. In Delta state where i grew up for instance, you would not believe that i had more yoruba than Igbo classmates in my JSS classes. Yoruba hairdressers, vulcanizers, tailors and other craftsmen abound where i grew up in Warri. Same thing in Jos. Not to talk of yoruba women selling Agbo jedi jedi and all manners of native medicines at every nook and cranny of the country. |

knowledgeable: Yorubas are idiotic in their logical analysis in relation with Igbos, I swear. Categorically, Igbos want out of any kind of relationship with Yorubas period. They have expressed it with civil war, Ipob, on social media etc. You Yorubas are the ones preventing the severance of the so called relationship between Igbos &Yorubas. You are the ones forcing social union with the Igbos by going into marriages with Igbo girls. So you see, if Yorubas over a long/short period of time subtly/violently deal with Igbos, the outcome will favour Igbo aspirations 100%. At least, one of the outcomes includes a sea port in the SS region , so you go figure. You have already participated in Igbo genocide, so tell me what is left. In your little mind, you think they have forgotten/forgiving you people, because they don't talk about it. Igbos are forced into Lagos by forcing them to be Nigerian. As much as I support Igbos on this one. I do not approve of the lie that lack of infrastructure is the only thing that takes Igbos away from their homes. Let's face it. Igbos are opportunistic people who love to maximize every available oppprtunity. Also i think it is because they are traders. There are Igbos all over the north, even in very underdeveloped places and villages. Are we now going to say it is lack of infrastructure that took Igbos there? |

Alcatraz005: You Hausas can kill them off. They are of no use to us. Most of our population reside here and the region is moving on. And I am sure that their population does not exceed a few thousands so you can’t compare it with the millions of Igbos that want to break down our infrastructure. We want the igbos to shift back a bit. Xenophobia is beginning to rare its ugly head in Nigeria. I hope you saw the thread where an Edo State Government official told the igbo street urchins to go back home?
That tells you rising unease with igbo migration is a National phenomenon. This is not about hate but common sense. What is chasing the igbos from home? Why is it so hard for them to stay in the east?
You can kill the Yorubas in Jos because they are clearly useless. We yorubas don’t leave our region because we have all we want here’s and we are a very content people. 2 things. You are obviously an inexperienced child/teenager who has no experience of life or you are a cold and stone hearted individual. Point of correction, i am not Hausa. Do you know how many succesful yorubas in Nigeria whom you celebrate today were born and bred in the north? Besides many of the people whom you yorubas see in Lagos and think they are Igbos are actually not Igbos. Many of them are from the South-south, Benue and probably other christians from the middlebelt.. ... What about the Hausas in Lagos? Lagos was the former capital of Nigeria. So it deserves whatever it gets. Do you know that many Gwari communities in Abuja, Nasarawa and Niger states have been turned into massive overpopulated slums by explosive immigration from all parts of Nigeria? (Your own yoruba people inclusive). Are the Gwari people telling you guys to vacate their lands? |

Also you guys like telling Igbos to go back to the east. I can't speak for the east, but do you know the population of yorubas in Jos for instance? What of Kaduna? You'll be shocked. Do you know that there are 3rd and 4th generation yoruba families in Jos whom their grandparents and greatgrandparents came to Jos during the pre colonial tin minning era? Some of these Jos yorubas can no longer trace their home back to yoruba land and are now claiming Plateau indigeneship. Do you know this? |

We yorubas love the homeland too much. The igbos think it is hate but it is not. If you yorubas love your homeland so much, can you please do something about the constant everyday ritual killings and abductions going on there? No day passes without us hearing news of human abbatoirs from the SouthWest. And it's really sickening and embarrassing. 1} Stop hating other tribes
2} Be humble and continue being hard working 3} Invest more in the SE and keep most of your people in Igbo land
If the above steps are followed religiously, an Igbo man will be voted into Aso rock in less than 20 years. We yorubas will even help you get elected like we helped Jonathan if you follow this advice. I am not Igbo, but which Yoruba votes helped GEJ? With or without yoruba votes in 2011, Gej would have still won the election. North central and other northern minorities were the reason GEJ won in 2011. |
