Can't you see his facial looks? Half fulani, half ibo And what is the need of this? Must you yoruba tribalists here try to involve the Igbo in every display of stupidity? Now i think it's very obvious that yorubas are the troublemakers on nairaland. Myself who asked the question am not even an igbo, but from the northCentral and see how many of you yorubas want to turn this into tribal war against the Igbos. |

Esji80: I am not saying a northerner can't get vote from Northerners, but Atiku has failed northerners. He was one of the strongest VP since the advent of democracy in Nigeria, despite spending 8 years as VP; d road leading to Adamawa from Gombe has been in a dilapidated and deteriorating condition he couldn't do anything.Baba PMB is now fixing d road.Even in Adamawa,d road leading to Atiku's village is in a terrible condition.Atiku's only achievement as VP was privatization of some Government agencies to enrich himself and his cronies. And who said Atiku has failed northerners? He has created employment opportunities for thousands of his people with his massive investments. How many people has Buhari the dullard employed? Did Buhari build the roads of all the villages in Daura before he became president? |
Politics › Re: Atiku: 8 Commissioners Dump APC In Adamawa by Nowenuse: 4:00pm On Dec 05, 2017 |
Esji80: Sir, I didn't classify north into NE,NW and NC.I said Kwankwaso has more political structures in the NORTH than Atiku.Afterall ,NW has the highest number of voters.
As per sending Baba PMB back home, time will tell. The Arithmetics is clear and bold, 100 Atikus CANNOT send PMB back home. Most of those ranting sai Atiku online are from d SE. Well, i am now doing the classification because the people of the NW, middlebelt and NE are not the same people and do not always vote in similar patterns as history has shown. It's just like someone generalizing that one candidate will win the entire South, when we all know that yorubas and Igbos do not always vote in similar patterns. Yes, northwest has the highest votes, but a large chunk of these votes from Kaduna and Kano belong to people from the middlebelt and people with similar ideologies with the middlebelters like Southern Kaduna people for instance. Atiku has great support in the NE and NC and not just among the igbos. I for instance am from the NC and many of us rather vote Atiku than that your Buhari dullard who has nothing upstairs. |

So Atiku can only manage to get votes from his fellow biafrauds. Kwankwaso has more political structures than Atiku in the north.
Sai Baba PMB PMB/PYO till 2023 Point of correction! Kwankwaso has more political support in Hausa land (North West). Here in the middlebelt and North-east, nobody gives a flying fvck about him and we are definitely sending Buhari back to Daura. |

Politics › Re: Is Atiku Actually A Fulani Or Chamba Person? by Nowenuse(op): 2:21pm On Dec 05, 2017 |
Campusity: Atiku is very likely Chamba.
That he is accepted by the fulani rulers and the minorities in Adamawa shows he is good at ethnic balancing. Remember he stood solidly behind Boni Haruna (a minority and a Christian) for governor of Adamawa for two terms. For 95% of political power brokers in Adamawa, that would be unthinkable for them to do.
I give it to Atiku, he is not a religious or tribal bigot. He also knows how to spot talent.
But is that enough for 2019? Is that enough to #Atikulate?
#LetTheGamesBegin Thanks. Very true. Atiku is definitely a detribalized Nigerian unlike our current president. If we have only Atiku against Buhari come 2019, we will Atikulate. |

Politics › Re: What Nigerians Do Not Understand About The World by Nowenuse: 6:48pm On Dec 04, 2017 |
ezeagu: If you look at nairaland's politics section, it's still filled with ethnic bickering despite the news that thousands of Nigerian youths are being traded as slaves in the Arab world (not just Libya).
One thing black Africans in general do not understand is that no matter how much animosity there is between ethnic groups, all other groups are looking to exploit and even possibly wipe out black Africans because they see them as weak links.
How is it that there is a protest against an ethnic group in Nigeria, but the worry over youths in Libya has not gone past the internet in Nigeria? Is it because it's easier to fight inside, or because the average black African does not have the guts to face Arabs, Chinese, Indians, and other races? Imagine if this enslavement were to have happened in Ghana, there would have been a war between the two countries citizens, but not a pim has been said to Arabs.
Therein lies your problem. I commend the beauty of this post OP. However, as beautiful as this post appears, i see no reason why Nigerians should attack the Arabs. If we had self respect and dignity for ourselves, they wouldn't have treated us as trash. Did you not hear that Nigerians and fellow west Africans were the ones selling their own people to these Arabs? Exactly the same scenario that played out during the transantlantic slave trade. We have always been the cause of our own problems. |

Pls this is not for the sake of tribalism and should not be hijacked by tribalists.
We know Atiku is from Jada LGA in Adamawa state. This LGA is actually owned/mostly populated by Chamba people, although with some fulanis settlers as usual. I have never seen Atiku identify himself as fulani or any other tribe (which is good though cos he's obviously not a tribalist).
Anybody from Adamawa or Taraba to actually confirm this? |

hamzeiy: Coming from someone that has travelled a lot, I am from north central and I have been to all the states in the north central onther than jos. I have only been to the outskirt of jos, I have been to all the southwestern states, northwestern states other than jigawa and sokoto,i have been to all the south south states except cross river and akwa obom, I have been to south eastern states apart from ebonyi, and I can categorically tell you the most undeveloped region in nigeria is north east followed by my region (not proud of this) north central while the most developed region is southwest then north west. There is no debate on this fact other than in experience, lack of exposure and unnecessary bigotry. Though when you single out states like imo compared to some southwestern states the difference. In beauty and development might be clear . Other than rochas okorocha,s state most south-eastern states shouldn't be compared to any south western state. And for those comparing Port H to lagos. They are not comparable though PH is more developed than other southwestern states. You said you have not been to Jos, then why conclude? Our beloved north- central cannot be the 2nd to last when we have Abuja. Besides Abuja we have Jos and Ilorin and these 2 cities are quite developed compared to many other state capitals in Nigeria. |

Mbediogu: You appear not to know that history made cannot be unmade. By the way, why is Nigerian history not taught in Nigerian schools? Let us agree that we shouldn't shade anymore blood. The only way to ensure such and reassure all is by RESTRUCTURING which your people resist to the last drop. All southerners are now calling for seccession and your people are threatening war. Is a just war not better than an unjust peace irrespective of who wins in the end? Visit Ogoniland, Okrikaland, Gbaramatu etc then come for further discussions. I bet you will cry for those people for days. The igbo case is worse in all directions yet your people are comfortable to say Nigerian unity is non negotiable - whatever that means. It will be non negotiable for a while. Hausa- fulanis are the ones against restructuring, not my people. Some north central e.g Plateau & Nasarawa governors have come out to support restructuring. Besides i think 2 Igbo governors have come out to reject restructuring (Ebonyi & Imo governors). So you can see that it is not a one-sided problem. |

SAVAGEBETS: Emm, as much as I appreciate the effort you put into this response about ibadan I must say virtually everything here is a false. I lived in ibadan from 2015 till I relocated December 28 2016, my friend did same too, I'll make this as short as possible.
I have lived almost everywhere in this country and for the Op let me say this Ibadan it's not cheap, at least not a place to start up life. You want a cheap place to start up life? pick any state in the the middle belt or North central. I lived at Omolayo Estate Akobo and during my time there I found the following. #Ibadan is big yes. #Transportation in Ibadan is not cheap, example I went from akobo to palms shopping mall to get something which I still didn't find and back home and that cost me 800 Naira to and fro. My cousin lives at Akingbile and going to visit him gulps about 1k. Ibadan lacks good road network do a journey that should take 15mins takes 45. #There's no light generally in ibadan, if you want to enjoy light make sure you rent a house in an area where at least 80% of the inhabitants use prepaid meter example from general gas down to ojurin and here's why, Nepa sends light to such places cos if they don't people won't exhaust their units and reload and they need them to so we almost always had light at akobo and if we didn't then we know there's really no light in ibadan. Now Op I hope you're Yoruba and if you're not I hope yoh can speak it fluently if not please forget yorubaland if it's not Lagos, yah y'all can have my head for that but I'll say it, they can discriminate for Africa and they'll rub it at your face while at it, to an average Yoruba man only three tribes exists, if you're not Yoruba you better be Hausa and if you're not then forget it "omo Igbo ni yen" and most of em just don't like an igbo person, once you're classified igbo threat level goes up, but the exposed and well travelled ones are very good to deal and work with. Not being able to speak the language fluently automatically drops your chances and position in the pecking order even if you're the most qualified in a formal environment.
Accommodation is not cheap if you want a sane environment with light, there's no such thing as a room self contain outside school area, and crime rate is high in the school area, your house can be burgled between yoh going to church and getting back in the afternoon and same goes for other areas too cos there people run when there's a security threat for fear of reprisals unlike the South or east where they mobilise and apprehend. Also what they call self contain is you having your own room with a personal toiletif you get the masters bedroom in a flat or a shared toilet, such will set you back minimum 130k to 170k.
I'm currently in Minna 17th state for almost a year and I can tell you it's your best bet if you're starting out, you can scout for jobs in Abuja and kaduna from here. Here I rented a standard room and parlour self contain apartment in a fenced secure compound with water in town for 80k tho the other two tenants who joined paid 100k do landlord had reviewed his price I guess, it's peaceful here, I work online so I can live anywhere I want. No religious crises here, it's the most peaceful of the North central state. It can be boring cos it's not crowded and hot tho. dazall. Worthy mention are Yola, Benin, Ilorin,Makurdi,Jalingo, jos and generally middle belt and North central states. @OP 1realBobby, i hope you have heard? If you are not yoruba and can't speak yoruba, just forget yorubaland. The middlebelt cities have to be your best bet since it's apparent that you no longer want to live in the south-south (which of course is quite expensive). In middlebelt cities, there is no tribalism and ethnic discrimintion due to the plurality of languages and tribes. It is not like Yoruba land, Igbo land or Hausa land where if you cannot speak any of the 3 major languages, then you are stranded or discriminated. It is also the cheapest region in Nigeria. |

Mbediogu: You should know na. Isolated and transient skirmishes between kindred clans (something that has been there for aeons) are different from the skirmishes are different from the earth quaking tsunamic and well planned bloodshed that goes on all over a region at the same time. Even if you dont know, Nigerians know. My grandfather, grandmother and two uncles whom I never knew never made it back from Kano in 1966. But I served NYSC in the north (Benue) and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Tiv, Idoma, Igala are great hosts. I dont know your part of the north. Benue is more of the middlebelt. Southerners have never been killed or attacked in any part of the middlebelt except maybe the Biafran war. Were Igbos not also attacked in the midwest and yoruba land during the war? Did that stop them from migrating back to those areas after the war? Heck, there are millions of Igbos still living in the north. Did your people not also tell you how they tied big stones to the necks of all northerners in Onitsha and threw them all in the River Niger to drown? The war is the past. You are talking of the welcoming nature of middlebelt tribes (Tiv, Idoma n Igala). Do you know that the Biafran army attacked, bombed, killed and raped many of them in Kogi & Benue boundary areas? Pls we all have decided to leave that ugly past where it belonged and move forward. It's also good to see how you played down the Southern problems. My family was in Warri around 2001 i think, during the Ijaw- Itsekiri crisis, my mother was almost hit by flying bullets in Okere market where dozens of dead bodies were flat before her eyes. Go and ask about that crisis that shook the whole of Warri and brought the whole city to a standstill. See how Badoo members are killing people in their sleep all over Ikorodu, Lagos. I have relatives still living there in the heart of Ikorodu. Or is it not the same Lagos where we hear of our people who board vehicles and never returned home? (ritual killings). Does such happen in the north? Hell no! See my brother, let's just forget these things. Nowhere is free from problems. |
