chrisagyei: Then look at the region that has Kumasi as its capital just like Lagos city size is different from size of Lagos city.Mind you Kumasi has a 2.5 million people and the who region known as Asanti Region(Ashanti Region) has a population of 5 million people and its over 80 % urban region with larger urban towns aside its capital Kumasi.Mind you Lagos city with its land size has over 18 million population and the whole state with the sake size of Accra has over 26 million population. You must be very very silly and dumb to be comparing a region (Ashanti region) to a city (Abuja). You should compare Kumasi (a city) with Abuja (a city) instead, if you have any senses. Abuja municipality is 5 times larger than Kumasi. Shame!

Nigeria is worse than I even thought.
So this Abuja you keep speaking about is a big white elephant? Genieluv, when I told you Abuja is a soulless city and that's why it can never compete with Mombasa you though I was just Arguing. See now? A white elephant. Why would the government waste lots of money building a white elephant when people in Ibadan and Abeokuta - cities that actually have people - look like cities built in 1000AD and never maintained?
You guys need to do something about your country. You would be so foolish to believe that Abuja metropolitan area with a population of over 6 million people is souless. Abuja is consistently ranked the fastest growing city in Africa and one of the fastest in the world. Allow that illiterate who cannot even construct a proper sentence to beguile you. |

Lagos state DNA and forensic Laboratory for crime investigation.
Lagos state environmental sanitation corps Lagos state neighborhood l with sport bicycles and modern vans.
Lagos state water transport authority, providing modern ferries, modern water terminal with lanes and marine police.
Nairobi needs to open all its suburbs by creating road connectivity Nairobi needs to build world class cities from scratch.
Nairobi needs a modern light rail
There is a need to decentralize the CBD to make Nairobi more developed
There is a need to create iconic projects in every part and not the city
Lagos has three gateways to the island and is constructing a 4th mainland bridge.
Lagos is investing heavily on human capital
Lagos is investing heavily on Transport, that's why Lagos public transport is the most advanced in Africa.
Lagos keeps modernizing its infrastructure in order to keep up with the groaning population of the state. Lagos can boast of thousands of planned cities + the ones under construction
Lagos keeps hosting Businesses, sports ,Fashion and Entertainment and even tourism in Africa.
Lagos GDP is 5th as a countrys Economy in Africa

NairobiWalker: When I tell people like Nowenuse and genieluv exactly this they argue and argue and make ridiculous claims here. Let an honest Nigerian tel them the truth now.
It seems genieluv is the perfect representative of the Nigerian girl. I saw through her hypocrisy from her first point and seems I was precisely right. Which kain mumu be this na. Many Nigerians do not know that they are enjoying cheap house rents because they've never heard of house rent costs in other countries. This is just the same way most Nigerians complained about how expensive things were before our inflation. When inflation came and things became more expensive, we all wished we could go back to the previous time we claimed was 'expensive' The Nigerian who wrote that article claims that house rent in Lagos is expensive because he is comparing Lagos to Warri, Benin, Enugu, Calabar, Kaduna and other Nigerian cities where house rent is cheaper. Wait till he visits Nairobi or Accra and comes back crying on how cheap Lagos is I said it before, Lagos & Abuja have so many expensive houses, at the same time they have cheaper ones (as we have tirelessly shown). It all depends on the area one wants to stay. We showed you a report of a Nairobian complaining of house rent cost in Nairobi, with price tags given. If your brain had understood good analogy, you'd have given us a Nigerian rent story also with price tags. As a Nigerian who doesn't live in Lagos and has never lived there. I find Lagos to be congested. However, mere looking at the nature of Kibera and other Kenyan slums and also those concentration camp houses with thousands of residents in one building, Lagos has now become Eldorado before mine eyes. Afterall, they say you don't know how sweet your mother's soup is until you taste that of your neighbour's mother. |

Danielnino00: I've never been to Ghana but I've meet a lot of Ghanaians both on and off the internet ..I had a Ghanaian classmate in secondary school... Believe me they hate Nigeria to a fault.. its obvious they haven't gotten over the Ghana must go saga... Its even more pathetic when u consider the fact that we are the biggest contributors to their country in Africa.. Just look at their entertainment industry, where will it be today without Nigeria? Is there any single Ghanaian A-list actor/actress that hasn't used Nollywood to hit the limelight.. Let's not even talk about their music industry... Yet u will see a lot of them hating on us...
At the recent Africa women cup of nations which we won in their backyard, the Ghanaians rallied against us in almost all the games we played... if not for our people living there, our girls would have been hearing boos in the stadium all through... Ghanaians are ungrateful bastards. They're just the way Canada is to the USA. Many Canadians talk bad about the USA claiming that they are better of, but at the end of the day all Canadian entertainers ride on the backs of Hollywood to achieve world fame and power. The same Canada hides under the military coverage of the USA. |

NairobiWalker: Why are you so angry? You kept telling us lies about Ghana, now a Ghanaian is here to tell us the truth, you are mad. Indebted in what sense? Based on your stupidity here, I have realized the things Nigeria consider as debts are laughable. Even at the beginning of this thread, some of you used to say Kenya is indebted to you, lol. I wonder what kind of education they teach you over there. So when a president visits you that's a debt? Your president visited Kenya and was wowed by the kind of sophisticated dairy farming that happens here - should we also say you're indebted to us? Dude, Nigeria is too poor to be a creditor. Get over yourselves. You can't even provide your citizens with basic needs and here you are talking about loaning other countries? Are you mad?
Stop being stupid - The average Ghanian enjoys everything in more quality measure than the average Nigerian - better electricity supply, better nutrition, better environment, higher life expectancy, higher HDI, better education, better infrastructure and almost better everything. You need to get over yourselves, you can't just dominate Ghana. I expect this kind of idiotic reasoning from forgiveness, Nowenuse, Obaboon and genieluv. Stop embarrassing yourself. Ghana enjoys better living indexes of course as a smaller nation, the same way Denmark, Norway, Canada & Australia enjoys better standards than the US due to it's large population. I have thrown this analogy to your blockhead countless times! At the end of the day most Canadians, Australians and Scandinavians pack their baggages to the USA in order to live and fulfill their dreams in business, entertainment, fashion etc. And they cannot sit down to talk where Americans are talking. That's the way it is between Nigeria & Ghana. |

genieluv: I wish I could re-like this comment of yours
I am trying to understand Kenya's tax system. Maybe houses are more expensive in Kenya because they pay property tax or other higher taxes. Cos that is the way it is in Ghana. Ghanaians pay property tax according to what I heard. @mtisTheQubit & t1ann, do you guys pay property tax in Kenya?
**** There are also expensive houses in Nigeria. In parts of Abuja and Lagos, a 3 bedroom apartment can go for as high as $300 per month or even far more. It all depends on where you want to say. That's the beauty of Nigeria. And because people are allowed to buy lands almost anywhere in a city and build, you can easily get a new decent house at an affordable price because competition is so much and this causes many to force their prices down in especially newer suburbs. Very very true I observed that only Lagos, Abuja and perhaps PH have those extremely expensive houses. House rent in other Nigerian cities is quite uniform no matter what part of the city you live in. In Warri for instance, a 3 bedroom apartment costs exactly around 20k to 40k per month all over. You can never find a 3 bedroom in Warri that costs as much as 100k per month no matter how beautiful the house or neighbourhood is, but in Lagos and Abuja, you can even see a 3 bedroom that cost as much as 150k per month. God forbid. |

Daejoyoung: lol so you mean those Kenyan buildings posted by Nowenuse with such outrageous prices are also in pretty good condition?? l can post loads of moderate Nigerian buildings from my city warri alone, where the middle class/ lower middle class live and which are cheaper than those Kenyan slummish structures posted a while ago by Nowenuse. ln my area in Effurun warri, decent 3 bedroom bungalows range from #(20 to 25)k monthly. NairobiWalker is an irredeemable idiot who shamelessly argues for the sake of it. genieluv showed him and other Kenyans the 3 bedroom apartment she lives in Abuja and how it costs 25k ($70) per month, they said she was lying. She showed them this picture below from an online source of a nice house in Abuja that cost 29k ($80) per month, then reasonable Kenyans like mtisTheQubit & t1ann accepted the truth, kept quiet and agreed, but the shameless NairobiWalker kept on foaming his mouth saying unreasonable things. I mean, how helpless can the condition of a human beign be that you are shown true facts korokoro but yet you still argue and say rubbish? This was exactly the same thing he did early this year when I splattered his shameless self with online adverts of Nigerian houses and how cheap they were compared to Kenyan houses. He then shamelessly began to say that the Nigerian online house adverts were fake Read this news report below directly from Kenya on how a man who lives in Nairobi laments on how he pays 10k shillings (35,000 naira) monthly for a one room apartment without ventilation (in those overcrowded concentration camp houses ) http://www.ghafla.com/crisis-how-housing-in-nairobi-has-become-a-nightmare-for-millions-of-city-dwellers/People like KiberaWalker aka NairobiWalker live in slums like Kibera and have no idea how Kenya's middle class suffer poor housing. Kenyans seriously need to fix that overpriced expensive slum riddled city they call Nairobi. For God's sake how can someone get a decent 3 bedroom apartment in Nigerian cities for 25k naira ($69) monthly, but in Kenya one pays 35k naira ($100) monthly for a cubicle size 1 bedroom apartment without ventilation in a concentration camp house with thousands of tenants? God forbid ! Kenyans work and live to pay house rents with their salaries. Why won't millions of Kenyans live in the world's largest slums? Cc genieluv2 Edited : Omg! @Daejoyoung I re-read the link and now noticed that the house the Kenyan was complaining about in that link wasn't even a room and parlour (1 bedroom apartment) as I thought, it was a freakinng bedsitter (single room).... I really give up on Kenyans. I now pity them infact. Daejoyoung: l wonder why rent is expensive in Ghana, Kenya and Angola. My brother, I just don't understand why a freaking developing nation should have such expensive houses. My friends who stay in Ghana lament how house rent finishes every money they get. ... It's just a pity There are also very expensive houses in Abuja and Lagos, but the good thing about Nigerian cities is that there is always a decent neighbourhood to suit every pocket size in that same city you live in. Not everyone pays outrageous house rents. Infact majority of Nigerians do not.

rvp20183: You're crazy.Nigeria is a zoo.Kenya is progressive nation with few things to fix.Just pick any index and check.Dont pick outliers like that covenant university. We have two issues that we are sorting.. corruption and hard one ethnic politics.Othewise pick any indicator of progress...and Kenya is almost assured to be ranked top 5 in Sub Sahara..and Nigeria almost assured to be ranked at the bottom. The are no Nigerian companies in Kenya with any serious stake...some off your banks bought struggling family banks with 2 branches and the Helios a London based Equity fund bought equity in some companies.South African cannot hack Kenya..how can Nigeria manage.Dangote still terrified to step in .In 15yrs we have grown our economy from $12B to $90B.Tax revenue includingAIA from $2B to $20B.Be terrified about the next 15yrs.We have halved those living in poverty.Electricity coverage from 12% to 80%.We have built world class infrastructure.Expanded universities from 7 public to nearly 70 plus many private.Enrollment from 50K to o.6M.Primary education enrollment shot up like crazy.Secondary education transition approaching 100%.We can go on and on...but you won't accept our lies.Although every Kenyan always painstakingly seek to provide empirical evidence. With all these, Kenya slum population is increasing. Starvation in the midst of peace and abundance is still an annual thing in Kenya. Why? Because most of the available arable land in Kenya is used for farming tea and flower gardens by Kenyatta & family and other foreigners. Kenya is still predominantly rural. There is so much underdevelopment in large parts of Kenya that people still live stone age lives (turkanas, Samburus e.t.c) People in certain parts of Kenya have to travel hundreds to thousands of kilometres before they can come across any city. Life in Kenya (a developing country) is still very expensive compared to other developing nations who are even doing better than you guys. The economy of Kenya is still heavily dominated by foreigners. In a country that is 99% black, the richest people are from the 1% white skinned minority. Black politicians instead of Black business men are still the richest people in Kenya and these thieves still flaunt their wealth in the faces of the masses. Kenya cannot still boast of a very powerful entertainment and fashion industry. Your entertainment is still heavily dominate by Nigeria & Tanzania. Kenyans have been mentally colonized by the Europeans. There is no celebration and promotion of African cultures, African festivals, carnivals, African attires etc. Rather grown up Black African men prefer to celebrate Blanket & tea parties like teenage European girls. Tribalism is still the order of the day in Kenya in spite of the fact that you guys have a national language (swahili) which should have been used to unite everyone as one just like Tanzania did. Where were Kenyans when Tanzania united everyone in their nation with swahili and buried tribalism? Yet you guys want to still argue ownership, proficiency and promotion of swahili with Tanzanians. |

You just have to wonder how people breathe in these kind of houses without sufficient ventilation. ~~~Nigerians building extension apartments in their compounds for rent is the reason why we don't have overblown slum communities in our cities. Because people with lower incomes can find good apartments for rent in decent houses.
