amstardi:Lol, they are not really full whites. They have a lot of African ancestry, they are only mixed. |
walexy100:Yes, there are yoruba speaking villages in the midst of Delta north. They are gradually being Igbonized. They were 5 towns in the past, today 3 of these towns have been Igbonized and lost their yoruba language, only 2 are still able to speak yoruba. They are called 'Olukumi' people. |
Igbobyblood:Bro, I am neither yoruba or Igbo, I am from a minority, but to tell u the truth. The Edo unity project to group all the Edoid peoples as one large majority ethnic group will never work. The British colonizers were the ones who created the 3 major tribes and it stays that way forever. Esan, Etsako, Urhobo & Isoko of today are all very divided and too ambitious on their own to ever return to a Benin umbrella. It will never happen anymore. The time it would have been able to happen was decades ago, had it been all Edo groups were able to come together under Bendel/Midwest, form a common central dialect, everybody learns it and promote it's wide usage in official status, by now about 20 million Edoid people would have had a common language that unites them. Today that is already impossible. Pidgin has taken over. Today, many northern minorities are becoming Hausanized. I am from Plateau state, my people are very similar in languages and cultures with each other and with neighbours like Southern Kaduna, Nasarawa, Taraba, South Bauchi & Adamawa tribes, the British had the power to unite us as one large majority ethnic group, but they never did, instead they tried to Hausanize us by forcing us under Hausa-fulanis. The only reason we have managed to escape Hausanization is because we are christians and u know Hausanization thrives on islam. |
shadeyinka:They only use this language as a liturgical language. It is not an everyday spoken language in Brazil. |
osusuallstars:No, but they use many yoruba words and phrases mixed with other African languages as a liturgucal language. |
kheny12:Santeria is the one practiced in Cuba. The one in Brazil has another name, however, both are very similar and are offshoots of mostly yoruba culture (however, not entirely yoruba). |
StUdY1:Anybody telling you to ignore your work that pays you as much as 200k a month for school is a very big joker! The majority of Nigerians after graduating stay jobless and go broke while others earn peanuts with all their degrees and start building their income all over again from the scratch. I wonder why people forget that we live in a country where only a tiny percentage of graduates get a decent well paying job. The best you can do as one said is to defer your admission for a session and see how things go with your online job. If it continues paying off hugely, try to control your expenses and save enough money to seek part time admission. But leaving your online job must never be an option. |
Seanherck:Pls, I thought this '*966*' code only works with your banking SIM card, what if this sim was stolen along with your phone, what do u do then? |
principal21:Try 0000, this seems like the default pin code for all sim cards. |
Wow, unbelievable. Please we need more of such enlightening piece on front page. Modern African youths have to be fed with more knowledge about their history and events around the world for us to know where we are as a people and what we need to do to progress as a people. Not all the unnecessary gossip gists and nonsense that litter the frontpage all the time. |
Equity15:Of course. |
APOPTOSIS:Who told u that? America controls the internet abeg. They created it, they own it and control most of it. |
Binikingdowm:Correct yourself immediately sir. Hausas drag settlements with natives all over the middlebelt region, from Southern Kaduna, Plateau, Abuja, Taraba and Southern Bauchi. |
Binikingdowm:How about Igbanke (Ikas), Igarras (Ebiras) and Igalas (Ifeku & Ilushi)? |
Datazone:How come u guys forget Kanuris? The only minority tribe in Nigeria to always produce 2 governors in every political dispensation. They dominate and control Borno & Yobe states. Also found in Jigawa & Bauchi states. They are one of the major tribes in Niger republic and Chad. |
goaldynboy:I really wonder how Ijaws can be claiming to be the largest tribe in Nigeria when we have Kanuris, Tivs and even Nupes & Gbagyis. |
musicwriter:You have a point but I think Germany benefits from the EU because they have the best automobile industries and products in Europe. They have something serious to sell. Nigeria has nothing serious to sell and this is what we are saying! |

Hedonini:South South more heterogenous than the North-central? Plateau state alone has about 50 distinct ethnic groups, same with Nasarawa. Southern Kaduna, Adamawa & Taraba may not politically be in the Northcentral but they are also very diverse too just like Plateau. In these areas, you can find 1 LGA with multiple tribes. In my LGA in Plateau state we have 5 distinct indigenous tribes there. Don't even get me started. This is why Hausa is used as a lingua franca. |
Bacteriologist:Thank you very much. You are not wrong my brother, you are absolutely correct. Deeper life members take 'holiness & righteousness' to the extreme that it makes them completely unreasonable. They are extremists. Working or living with them can be very frustrating. They always remind you that you are a sinner and bound for hell (with their actions) just because you don't share their extreme beliefs. They may not tell you to your face, but hey actions speak louder than words. |

tolexy007:The Allies will only join the US, if the US is facing a threat to it's homeland territory cos that is when the US is really threatened, not when the US in engaging on troublesome warfare at others. You guys forget that most EU countries are still in agreement with Iran on the Nuclear deal. Apart from Israel and perhaps Saudi Arabia/Arab world, don't expect any other country to join the US in invading Iran. The EU have no interests in the invasion of Iran unlike they did in Syria. |
distributeinc:@ Bolded. The US has been sanctioning Russia for a decade now, it has not really changed anything much. As long as China & Europe keep on buying Russian gas, the US sanctions are useless. EU cannot sanction Russia when their survival is heavily tied to Russian gas. Russia and China will never allow the US destroy their biggest and strongest ally. Never! Interests or not. |

Rrevampers:Just as oilPUSSY told you firstly, a revolution can never work in a multi ethnic and multi religious country like Nigeria, because it would be instantly 'tribalized and religionized'. Only a renowned or renowned groups of Hausa fulani muslim youths can lead a revolution right now against Nigeria because they are the ones ruling. A revolution lead by others would be played down as grievances because their own people are not in power and such a revolution can never get National acceptance. Any revolution with only regional/tribal/religious acceptance can only lead to a civil war! |
Naajjii:Deal with your delusion. I guess Igbos are the ones mobilizing herdsmen to attack middlebelt tribes or Igbos are also responsible for the religious crisis that always rocks northern/middlebelt cities. People like late Gideon Orkar from Benue of blessed memories saw all these madness and tried to unite the middlebelters and southernerns to cut off the core-north and merge them with Niger republic. I just can't imagine how peaceful and progressive Nigeria would have been without the core-north. I guess an imbecille like you will also say Gideon Orkar was IPOB. Well, I think I am the reincarnation of Gideon Orkar, he may not have succeeded but this time around we will succeed, thank God we are now in an age of social media. Adios. |
Naajjii:I now know that you have a very short memory and you are not worth it. I was the first person to quote you on this thread and I quoted you because you quoted someone and was speaking against a possible relationship between my people and the SE/SS. I told you to face your caliphate because you are not a middlebelter and should never speak for the middlebelt people, hence it is not your business if we should be forming a relationship with the SS/SE. All of a sudden you quoted me telling me rubbish about Biafra. I never mentioned Biafra prior to this time and this is why I called you out on being obsessed with Biafra. Look at the screenshots of the beginning of our engagement below. What a shameless liar! You said you are not a middlebelter and never believed in it, so I called you out because you have no business telling an Igbo who we middlebelters want to associate with. Especially as this post concerns the Tivs and Jukuns who are very proud middlebelters. Yes I am a Plateau man and I may be different from other Plateau people who are calmer and passive perhaps because I was born and grew up in the South and I guess I might have imbibed the loudness of southernerns. Also, I am far more exposed and versed than the average Plateau youth. This is why I stand out among my peers from the region. I have helped to enlighten so many of my people and I am currently the leader of a pressure group of my people. Guess what? My people appreciate my fierceness in protecting the interests of our region. So do not expect someone like me to see nonsense against my people and I keep quiet. I will attack and not just defend. Go back and see the way I dealt with all the southernerns who tried to ridicule the Jukuns/Tivs because of this conflict. If this post had been about Nupes and Ebira people, I would not have wasted my precious time. Nonsense. One idiot sits down in his emirate in Niger state and is speaking for the entire middlebelt against the south. Forgetting that times without number the Igbos/Southernerns have joined forced with our people in Jos and Kaduna cities to fight against these useless almajiris, then you come here to speak against a union btw the Igbos and my people. Better mind that rotten mouth of yours and keep it contained to Bida. Rubbish!
|
Naajjii:You would be the biggest foool of the century if you think I am Igbo. Go to my first posts on this topic and see the manner at which I was bashing all Southernerns in general. Go through my topics since I joined nairaland in 2013. If you still think otherwise, you are helpless. Anyone reading through our posts will go into my profile and check this for themselves and conclude how irredeemably foolish you are with your assertions. The Igbos have their problems as with everyone else. I grew up with them here in Delta state together with SS people. Sometimes I so much hate them, their guts, pride, arrogance and self delusion. At the end of the day, I have sat down to weigh everything and I have come to the conclusion that Igbos are far far far better and preferrable than Hausa fulanis. No point of comparison. I also find them to be a bit better than yorubas. They are the most progressive Black African race and that is what matters the most. So I don't take it an insult if you call me Igbo. I feel proud of Igbos as my fellow country men. I also feel proud of yorubas to an extent, but Hausa fulani (I spit). God forbid. Nothing good about them. Whenever I am in Plateau, I always try to urge my people to wake up and try to be as progressive as Igbos. If for anything, you should be ashamed that with all the Osu caste and Python dance, Biafra war and what have you, Igbos are still far far far better than you and your kind. As a Plateau man or middlebelter, I usually feel ashamed when I see the achievements of Igbos and other southernerns and I look at my own people and we are nowhere close to that. The only thing I admire about my people that Igbos/Southernerns may never get is the culture of trust that still exists among our people. because of the desperation for success, the south has lost the culture of trust and kindness. It is an everyman for himself culture, which is sad. |
Naajjii:Hahaha, a servant of the caliphate is calling someone else a bigot Go look your Emir or Sultan in the face and call him that. Citizens of the caliphate are the true definition of bigots. I'm not the one calling for war. The bigoted thinking facculties and actions of you servants of fulanis and your masters are the factors calling for war. I guess I was the one who called for Boko haram too right? Igalas in the northern axis are mostly muslims, but not with an overwhelming majority. Dekina, Ofu, Omala and Idah are a 50/50 or christians are more. Ankpa is the only place with a clear muslim majority and since it arguably has the largest population among all LGAs in Igala land, it makes northern Igala like 60% muslim. But southern Igala is like 90% christian. Infact it is so christian that in a place like Ibaji LGA, you will never find a mosque in so many communities. This is why Igala land in general is like 60% christian. Otherwise there is no way in hell a muslim majority group of Northern Nigeria would have a christian monarch. It would never have happened. See who called me a bigot. You gladly divided Igalas into North and South just so that you can claim a muslim majority for them. |
