PoliticsRe: What Is Imo State Best Known For? by NRIPRIEST(m): 1:31am On Jan 23, 2013
Biafra rep: All well meaning Igbos on nairaland should as a matter of urgency call Chino and his ilks to order, or declare them persona non Grata. why is Chino so obsessed with Anambra? Spyder opened a thread on the beauty of Enugu to the admiration and pride of all Igbos yet Chino came with evil intention to damage that thread, now he is trying to do same with Imo! every state in Igboland contributes in making us great. Any more insult from him on Imo will be met with equal venom on his state. Those who live in glass house should not throw stones, I equally have enough diatribes in my arsenal that would cast a pal of opprobrium on him and his entire state, though I would not want to do that because I am pan Igbo and wont like to wash our dirty linen in public but my patience is at the very tip of the cliff. Biko unu duo nwa amadi a odu ka ihere hapu ime anyi n'ile maka ngbe ndi ofenmanu ga eji ya kowa anyi onu, ekwuchala mu nkem!
My brother,I do respect your stand point on the Igbo unity and agenda very much and I applaud you for your steadfastness, however,we Omanbalas will not keep quiet and watch some nonentity drag the name of our great Omanbala through the mud. Having said so,I will advice my fellow Igbo to caution those bad eggs who has been badmouthing Anambra,a state that has given the Igbo an unequal pride and integrity. If you peruse through this thread you will find out that the Omanbalas never wrote any demeaning thing about Imo but still some Imolites ignored the purpose of the thread and started bashing Omanbala and that is unacceptable by all standards. Go through my post history and you will never see where I bashed ndi Imo but they have constantly attacked us for no good reason and you expect us to keep quiet ? Mba nu,nwanne!

Abagworo: Frankly, the level of hatred shown by many Anambrians on Nairaland against Imo indigenes is noticeable even by non-Igbos. Nothing from Imo goes without condemnation from you or Chino and yet when I tell you that we ain't same people you'll be arguing .
Choose who you are and see if I give a fffuck. By the way,try and respond to your brother who threw the first punch before you face me.

Imolites are probably the most educated in Igboland,I give that to them.

Now let's get to the business you just started; You see, people like you are the real reason why Umu-Omanbala will always retaliate and tear you lots down. This thread was started for Imo but you came here to bash Umu-Omanbala because your irredeemable insecurities won't let you.....Yes,we are Omanbala and we call rice "Lice",call London "rondon",richer "licher". But guess what else,if it wasn't for Omanbala you will amount to a baaastaard! You dare call fearless Omanbalas "lilly livered","chest beating" illiterate traders. I'm not surprise because this isn't the first time I have heard such garbage from Imolites and your Enugu weaklings!
But let me spell one thing out for you hateful heart.......OMANBALAS are the ALPHA and OMEGA of IGBO LAND! ITS THE WAY GOD MADE IT....ALL FINGERS ARE NOT EQUAL BUT YOU CAN KEEP HATING. If you eediots dare me to attack Imolites I will gladly do so and make a mince meat out of you monkeys....We will always lead in Igboland because God made it like that!

CultureRe: WHY DID YOUR PEOPLE SELL SLAVES TO WHITES? by NRIPRIEST(m): 2:24pm On Jan 17, 2013
The sacred Nri kigdom never sold slaves. It was an abomination in our land to sell your fellow human being and the penalty is death! Nri kingdom was a safe haven for run away slaves and people who has been rejected and forsaken by their communities, though they were innocent. They were cleansed by the Eze Nri and their bondage and curses broken in the holy land where evil is a stranger. African American are still visiting Nri today for cleansing and restoration.
Our people were very wise and rejected evil practices, little wonder Omanbala people are so blessed.
I heard of Oshiomhole's strides in Edo State and when I was in Nigeria not too long ago, I went to that state to see for myself! It is not a fluke what you are seeing on the pics post by the op. Given the fact that Edo budget is 1/3rd that of Delta and much of the revenue to the state is from small business taxation which is very difficult to rain in, I give his government a thumbs up.

The Benin city water storm project, huge expansion of the central hospital, schools with floor tiles, proper toilets, very comfortable individual desk and chairs, water project in Edo central, dualization in Igarra, Auchi, and one rural road that cuts across 22, I mean 22 villages, just to say a few of the projects I saw with my eyes.

If anything, all the major roads that was being expanded which I saw have standard dividers, with greens, covered walkways, with standard road markings. Sapele road shown in one of the pics was constructed by Setraco and I tell you it is a 6-lane road of very high quality!

This is not to say they aren't areas the government need to improve upon, but whatI can say is where money has been spent, it is obvious to the sincere at heart that it has been good value for money spent. No doubt, if Edo continue to invest in infrastructure in this manner with proper maintenance, the state will become a choices destination for those running away from the dirtiness of onitsha, Asaba, Warri, etc.
Oga mr. gullible, let me quickly remind you that Anambra has a better school system, health system, better road network and governance more than Edo. How many industries has your Oshio brought to Edo. He is wasting tax payers money to beautify Benin to please the Omo n' Oba while the rest of the stae rot in neglet. Anambra is relatively a new state still and you lots are not financially better of than us. Everythin Obi has done he did it with Anambra money. NO BORROWING!!!!

pazienza: Ogidi-idemili,the name of our founder is Ogidi, who was a son of a man named inwelle, inwelle was the son of ezechumagha so,we call our town,Ogidi-inwelle,we don't really know where inwelle and his father ezechumagha came from, but unlike some stupid people,we don't go around creating silly stories to fill in that gap. But my grandfather told me that Ogidi was a troublesome strong man,he would often fight with anybody he met on his way to our present location, but when he met the founder of Obosi town, they fought for days and none of them won,so they made a covenant that their descendands should never fight each other, and they became friends thereafter.
Nwanne,Inwele was an Nri decendant and you don't need a written down history to tell you that. Look at you socio-cultural set-up,dialects,tradions and festivals and you will know.

In a core Igbo family setting the first girl is viewed as the pride of her family and she is suppose to set a good example for others, hence the emphasis on marrying from your own people. Nevertheless,I have seen some first girls who married from other tribes. Note; the first girls are the real "Ada" na eli ukwu anu and they control a lot of respect in the family.

Yes,he do mix them but the Anambra there is more prominent.

From what Yujin,Chinenye and Ihedinobi were saying I understand that Ngwa,Uzuakoli and the town where Yujin hails from speaks a similar dialects. But Yujin, where are you from ? I seems like you were saying you are from Umunze but I didn't understand it very well.
CultureRe: Ndigbo:which Other Igbo Dialect Do You Love And Want To Learn? by NRIPRIEST(m): 1:48am On Jan 17, 2013
odumchi: Flavour speaks a dialect from somewhere in Enugwu and not Onicha. Most Enugwu dialects say "ife" while a minority say "ihe". For example, to say "I don't know", Flavour would say "amahu m", whereas an Onicha speaker would say "amaro m".

Today's Standard Igbo is closest to the Igbo spoken in the Orlu-Okigwe-Umuahia axis of Imo and Abia states, even though Onicha dialect is said to be the most intelligible of the Igbo dialects.
Flavour doesn't speak Enugu dialect but he mixes it with his Anambra Igbo. Anybody that is familiar with Stormrex music would know what core Enugu/\Nkanu sounds like. We also have to bear in mind that some Enugu dialects and Anambra are similar. Sometimes its hard to tell who is Anambra or Enugu because of some of the dialectical similarities. Take Mike Ejeagha for Instant, most people think he is from Anambra but he is from a town that borders Anambra, hence the similarities.

PoliticsRe: Obi Achievement In Anambra State With Pictures by NRIPRIEST(m): 8:01am On Jan 16, 2013
Afam4eva: Peter Obi should learn from Enugu's Sullivan Chime. Those projects are atrocious to the eyes. Is that what he has been doing in Anambra state? A State with so much human and natural resources like Anambra should be ruled by people like Soludo and not laid back people like Obi.
For some reason your Bigoted eyes didn't see the thread where Anambra girl scored the highest mark at the Waec exams and the governor gave her schorlaship to go study medcine. Quite alright Obi road standard are not up to the international standard but the works are evenly spread out through out the state. He had to start from scratch and and needed to at least lay some foundation before we move to the next level. You can run your big mouth all you want but time will tell how much this man has done for the state. You want him to use the little we are getting to build one beautiful road,so you can like him. I say no to that! We might have less standard road today but it enough for now till we finish other pressing issues. Road is not the only thing Anambrarians need; What about jobs, good educatio and schools, agriculture, health and other basic needs of the people. Enugu city maybe more beautiful than Anambra due to her age but our goverment is much richer that Enugu in all ramifications. Anambra owe nobody penny and you will marvel when you hear how much we have in our reserve coffers! We are moving forward and everything has stages and starting a project is usually harder than completing it. Today,Anambra school system is one of the best in the nation, our IGR is getting better and the current tax reforms will lift the state, financially. You have to bear in mind that Anambra was a big mess before Obi came in. He is laying a solid foundation for the state to grow on. Time will tell and all of you critics willl bury your face in shame.
PoliticsRe: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by NRIPRIEST(m): 11:53pm On Jan 15, 2013
Afam4eva: I think Enugu government should think of developing a new city in the outskirts of Enugu that will house skyscrapers and business districts. That will give Enugu an International feel and put it on a pedestal to compete with other cities in the world.
Hahaha.
Dude, you just don't develop or build a new city like that! Your Governor need to take basic development to those undeveloped Enugu towns and open them up for business and you can shape these towns into what you like when business starts booming. And if I may ask,who is gonna rent these your skycrappers when you are done building them ?? Enugu doesn't have the business to complement such project. You need to use all these loans Chime has borrowed and open up all the farming villages in Enugu and watch development come to your door steps.
We need to stop being gullible by thinking Enugu is gonna be like Abuja or lagos by dawn and start thinking about how to empower our citizens because they are the one that pay taxes and if you provide all the needed amenities for people to do their businesses they will succees and contribute to the development of the state. What is lacking in Enugu is grassroot development!

abagoro: I've not stopped criticizing him. I'm happier with him and many other Governors now after realizing they have to work with very paltry and limited resources. I was unjustly comparing them with Governors like Akpabio, Amaechi and Fashola who have been collecting a minimum of 16billion Naira monthly. However Peter Obi has not done much in the Onitsha I passed the other day. Everywhere is still red and the houses look old and worn out. I also took pictures that could give negative impression but won't post them here to discredit his laudable achievements. He could have borrowed money and transformed Onitsha to a modern market.

In Anambra recurrent expenditure is less than 40%,while capital expenditure is well above 70%. Prudence.....Prudence...Prudence...That's what Obi have above all the rest of the governors in Nigeria and that's why he is a member of GEJ economic team and Fashola,Rochas,Chime,Amaechi,Akpabio and all the overhyped governors aren't found fit....Akwaibom,Delta,Rivers,Abia,Imo,Lagos and Edo receives over 80% of what Anambra get from the fed. allocation but Anambra is more financially healthier and more stable than all of them because we owe nobody and our reserve coffers is getting fatter every month.
