Refering to the BOLDED:

Since NL Muslims are given VIP treatment, how can one talk of diversity, help or favour when almost HALF of the community is secluded in a VIP section. Is this not contradictory? Its either all sects are combined or MAJOR sects are given same VIP treatment. Seeing that this bias is intentionally done from Management, I have NO business anymore on NL. Cheers.

Apart from politics, family, culture, science and technology and sometimes education, this is the only section were knowledge is shared everyday. A lot of people, irrespective of religious affiliation have gained a lot from that section already.

Don't you think the other section might be envying us?

Unless you are new to NL, your statements (especially the bolded) are false. I have seen Christians debate scriptures and beliefs here. You should know there is diversity in Christianity also. It is quite interesting and can be more interesting but for unneccessary trolling.

As for the envying... funny, when I look at the advert rates for other sections and see that for the religious, the difference is clear.

Well, you may want to read that in other bible versions like AMP then come back and tell me what you learnt.
As for the others (1 - 9) interesting list. However, I barely see as errors in Historical documentation which goes further to confirm that the various events DID HAPPEN. They have little to do with the Sovereignty of God.

Example:
I spent close to 5k at the market yesterday.
I spent 4k at the market yesterday.
The amount spent matters little except to an Accountant. However, we can establish that I spent money at the market yesterday.

Now let me correct a misconception. The bible contains words of Man, Devil and God. It also has narration of events.
When Jesus said "Heaven and Earth will pass but my word will not pass". This did not include a narration like "As Jesus went to Jericho" should also not pass away cos its in the bible. A simple understanding of English context will help.

Most folks (myself inclusive) appreciate NL as a platform that reflects Nigerian society. Politics, Entertainment, Science etc all have the Naija vibe. This makes us feel at home using the site. There is however a bias is noticed in the religious section which I must bring to your notice.

Users are prompted to a TERMS OF USE before posting in the Islam section. (picture attached below). This is welcome developmemt as it will bring some sanity to that section.
As you know, Religion in Nigeria is a sensitive issue. The same sanity in the Islam section is NOT the case for Christianity (another major Nigerian religion). Sir, why is this so?
According to Wikipedia the ratio of Muslims to Christians in Nigeria is about 1:1. Muslims (49.3%), Christian (48.8%)

Based on the above, I suggest that a Christian section be created so we can exercise our faith and freedoms as the Muslims do.
I suggest a section for "other religions" which is about 2% to also exercise their beliefs also. This I believe is a fair approach.

May I add that this will in NO way cause fragmentation as 2 sections exist already. So adding 1 extra for Christians while leaving the default for the Others (2%) will be fine. This may even increase advert revenues for a Christian specific section. I look forward to a favourable response. Thanks.

Intelligent Design cannot be trashed cos it is evident EVEN BY SCIENCE. What was trashed is attributing it to God. These are 2 different things.

Example: Man an intelligent being exists. If I say God made man. This can be seen as an unscientific statement as you will have to explain who God is (which man can't explain cos God so designed it). This doesnt remove the fact that man is intelligently made by an UNKNOWN designer. Get the difference?

Let look at this the Scientific way. Hypothesis are made to understand certain phenoms in nature.
Big bang was proposed as the basis for the Universe. Work is being done to prove or debunk it. Till then, it is widely accepted. Not as the truth, but a work in progress.

Now same logic to intelligent design. If a man said an invisible artist caused it or he said his grandfather did it. What stops us from working with that till it is proved or debunked?

This is why the debate between Theist and Atheist will continue till the next generation. No one can debunk the other but each one thinks their logic is better.

Like I said before, you cannot debunk a percieved falsehood with another. Its a waste of time, See how long this thread is but yet none can prove or disprove God. Does that not ring a bell? Look online, its a mess of inconclusive materials.

Ever seen those beautiful pictures from NASA of Space. Breath taking. I love art. Can you really tell me that I can randomly pour paint on a canvas and come out with a masterpiece. It defiles login. Can you tell me a car came about by collision of metals, plastic, oil, water and petrol overtime? Really?

PS: From a neutral view, I will prefer the idea of an invisible creator than the idea that a car came about by collision of metals, plastic and petrol over time.

Even if the oceans were drinkable, they will NOT be inland so those in land locked areas will still not have water to drink.
Every wondered why fresh water is inland (streams, rivers, lakes) and oceans are outside? Does such a design not ring a bell even to a 5 year old?

I was just thinking about NumberOne2 defense of the Bible and it occurs to me again that some people sincerely believe the Bible is 100% true. When I hear people assert this, I wonder how they know. I guess there are two ways:

1) Find sufficient extra-Biblical evidence to show definitively that every sentence is true, that every internal contradiction is not really a contradiction and that every piece of scientific evidence that contradicts the Bible is fatally flawed.

OR

2) Just go-ahead and believe the Bible is inerrant for absolutely no reason and ignore its contradictions, ridiculous, far-fetched stories and known errors.

Since no-one on Earth has ever managed to achieve (1), we can confidently conclude that ALL Biblical inerrantists use method (2).

That shows it takes a special kind of person to be a Biblical inerrantist--the kind of person I never want to be.

I am NOT an apologetic. I don't need to explain the scriptures to anyone except a believer. Infact this is my conclusion: MAN DOESNT NEED TO PROVE GOD. THERE IS ENOUGH EVIDENCE.

As for Atheism, its just an alternative to believing in God. It only questions God's existence, but doesn't provide ANY answers.
So if you say Christianity isn't absolute and we know Atheism isn't then what? So the debate remains (as in previous generations before us) till we all hit the grave. Cheers.

Matthew 16v28 -Verily I say unto you, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in His kingdom.

Throughout the ministry of Jesus, He preached, "Repent : for the kingdom of God is at hand or near" -(Matthew 4v17, Mark 1v15)

The question then is, If Jesus preached that the kingdom was near, when did the kingdom come?

Daniel 2v44 -And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

In the days of which kings will the kingdom of God be set up? In the days of the kings of the roman empire.

(Note -The roman empire is the fourth kingdom represented with the legs of iron, and feet of iron with clay). Please read the entire chapter of Daniel 2; to see the dream of Nebuchadnezzar and the interpretation of Daniel.

According to the prophecy of Daniel in his interpretation of the dream of Nebuchadnezzer; the kingdom of God will come and be set up when Jesus rose from the dead. Because Jesus was the stone cut out without hands (Daniel 2v34), that struck the feet of the statue; to set up the kingdom of God that later became a great mountain (Daniel 2v35).

So the kingdom of God came and was set up when Jesus died and rose. The kingdom has come since when Jesus rose. Presently it is still being established in the hearts of men; and in the age to come, it will be established in the earth. But it has come.

So the writers of the scripture did not goof, and Jesus did not make an unfulfilled prophecy when He said;

Verily I say unto you, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in His kingdom.

Because those who saw Christ in the flesh after His resurrection, in His glorified incorruptible body; actually "saw the Son of man come in His kingdom". Because at the resurrection of Christ was when the kingdom was set up.

And many people were indeed standing there when Jesus was talking who did not die until they had seen Jesus in the flesh after His resurrection, in His glorified incorruptible body.

1Cor 15v5-8 -And He (Jesus) was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

After that, He was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

After that, He was seen of James; then of all the apostles.

Amd last of all He was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

Those who had the privilege of seeing the resurrected Christ in the flesh, in His glorified incorruptible body, can be said to have seen the son of man come in His kingdom. Because that was when the kingdom was set up according to Daniel 2

The coming of Christ that will be announced with a shout, the voice of the archangel and the trump of God; is actually when the kingdom will be phyically established on the earth and Jesus will be bodily enthroned on the earth. But that is not when the kingdom came, the kingdom came at His resurrection.

When people don't know how to interprete the scriptures, they say Jesus goofed, or that the writers made a mistake. That's not true. You really do need the Holy Spirit.

The Great Tribulation cannot be researved for Christians. This will be an injustice by God's standards.
However, if before or after the tribulation, what does it matter? Some will die before then and face their before others. The key is just be ready. Jesus said:
Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. - Matthew 24:44

These vehicles are no longer common in Nigeria.

You however travel and still see some of these cars in top shape.

Why will a 5 year old baby be thinking what he will be doing in next 85 years when he is rightly seeing hiis or her granny? Well a five year old baby doesnt think so cos his thinking abilities has not reached to that extent.

Refering to the BOLDED. I don't know what you think Christianity is but my life isn't a boring one. I love cars, sports, cinemas, riding horses and general hanging out. These are fun and aren't sins.
