By grave, I mean Hell (a place without hope). When Jesus refered to the dead as sleeping what did he mean? There is a life after death which is NOT in the grave.
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: - Hebrew 9:27

At least, that preacher said the real you, the real person is immortal. So why did you christians believe the real Jesus die, when he is indeed immortal ?

Jesus became 100% flesh. All that pertained to flesh pertained to him.
He could be born and die, be betrayed, be flogged, feel cold and heat. These are things felt by mortals. Jesus family had to run to Egypt to escape death because he could be killed by Herod. Jesus was VERY mortal.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. - John 1:14

It was God who raised Jesus from the dead. If God did not raise him, he will still be in the grave.
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. - Romans 8:11

This is why Apostle Paul said Christ is the firstfruits of the dead (sleep).
But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. - 1 Corinthians 15:20-21

When God raised Jesus, death had no hold anymore on the new man (born again).
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. - 1 Corinthians 15:20-22

Before then, when man died, he went to hell. That is why Satan was happy when Jesus died. He hoped to keep Jesus in Hell. Big Mistake - Jesus died as a BIGGEST SINNER ever (with the sins of the World) and went to hell but not to stay. He went to free the righteous ones.

That is why Jesus said in Revelation:
I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. - Revelation 1:18

So you left your local Church because of hypocrisy of the brethren. That I can understand.
However, to deny that God exists because of perceived hypocrites in church is just flawed and inconsistent. Here is why:

1) You do not quit your job because your employer tells you to do something that he himself would not touch with a ten-foot pole.
2) You do not withdraw yourself or your child from school because a teacher teaches one thing and does something else.
3) You do not quit playing a game you love because your friend cheated in the last game you played.
4) You do not leave your country because the President said one thing and did the opposite.

Sure there is hypocrisy in the church, but that is because there are human beings in the church. As long as you deal with human beings, you are going to deal with hypocrisy.

Do you want to get away from hypocrisy?
Dig a 20-foot hole in your back yard, jump in, let someone cover you with dirt, and even then you are going to be sitting down there in the bottom of that hole with one hypocrite.
There is not a one of us breathing air that is as consistent as we ought to be, but the person who says, “I'm not going to be a Christian! I'm not going to serve God! I'm not going to get involved in the work of the church because there are hypocrites in the church,” is just logically inconsistent!

If we do not use that kind of thinking anywhere else in our own lives, how can we do it in our relationship to God? Despite the hypocrisy of the Pharisees and Sadducees, Jesus still went to the synagogues right?
There were many, many misconceptions that we have to get rid of to understand truly what the Bible really teaches. The key is to study the Bible for yourself. That is why Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit… to teach us all things.

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. - John 14:26-27
