If you look at the rear pix you posted, your trim is Td4 that means you have a BMW m47 2.0L diesel engine in that vehicle, I am not sure whether it's a 4x4 but if it is, then you have an advantage in the off-road segment and your fuel consumption would be great.

Your next line of action should be how to take care of a diesel engine, you can also research the M47 engine, it's likes and what to watch out for.

I have read the reviews on the website above & there isn't even 1 positive review about the car which is biased. Every car has its positive & negative sides.
Even if you check the online reviews on 1999 Toyota Camry, you will still read alot of negative comments about it. AMERICANS COMPLAIN ALOT.
Update: Transmission of the MO has been certified ok & vehicle has been purchased. Servicing is in progress atm.Just bought a new set of Camshaft/crankshaft positioning sensors too.

Buy it, you would enjoy every drive in it.

The freelander is a no go area for the petrol Engine be it 4cylinder or 6cylinder, the Rover k series engine are the most grossly engineered piece of crap.

The diesel case is different with the BMW manufactured engine or the Rover diesel, you are covered. The manual transmission would ensure the vehicle last you till you grow old.

I dropped this info because you have a diesel engine don't let anybody coerce you into ever switching to petrol Engine cause that would be the beginning of the end.

It's easier to diagnose the default settings by checking fuse, relay and cable. Running a new separate wire can cause draining of battery over night (parasitic drain).

No info on the 2003-2006 Nissan MURANO.
I saw a clean Toks 2004 Murano going for 950k. Did a test drive & it was smooth with no check engine lights on the dash(will still have it inspected by an expert anyways).
I see these cars on the road on a daily basis but people keep telling me to RUN from it that it is not a reliable vehicle even if you service it with the required fluids (Nissan NS-2).
Plz I need advice here from experts & Murano owners here(if any).
Should i BUY or PASS? It's urgent cuz I may seal the deal this week.

Murano has 2 major issues in Nigeria

the gear is a CVT and the gear oil is Nissan NS-2 but the NS2 must be OEM not clone or fake.

The AWD Murano has a transfer case after certain use, the seals degrade causing leaks which eventually leads to failure the worst case scenario for this is total gear failure too.

What you must do for the transfer case is to be observant and any leakage should be tackled using the required sealant for effective cure.

One more thing, Nissan doesn't like Abuse, bypass, remix, managing, Akagum owner etc goodluck

if the engine is a V6 you are in luck. it's the ESL 3.0 V6 fitted into Peugeot 406, 407, 605 and some citreon vehicles. I can deduce the gear should be same fitted to the Peugeot, if it's same then you definitely don't want to buy an automatic transmission but a manual transmission.

350k is way too high I can only buy a working unit not more than 250k these one nah apako too expensive for 350k my personal opinion

1st tip is to enroll in a 2years Automotive technical school.

2nd tip is 5years experience in automobile repair.

in all it would cost you atmost 7years to be able to identify a good Engine by just looking at it. if you don't have the time for that the shortcut is to pay an autotechnician with the required skill set to acquire the Engine and replace it in the said vehicle. it's cheaper that way

Though I understand Highlander is heavier than Sienna yet I think the difference is quite significant. Could there be something wrong? Ofcourse I have no intention of bursting my silencer pipe

My sienna is always in too shape.

I live on the island and work on the mainland (Ogudu) I am always zooming to work no traffic

I also go to Ogun state regularly I leave early and only get caught up in traffic less than an hour

I maintain 90km/h only exceed that when I intend to over take.

I don't pack load and my suspension is stock.

5W40 all the time and platinum twin tip spark plugs buy fuel from only MRS, NNPC and TOTAL.

The Highlander comes in 3 configuration s

2.4L i4 should have a better fuel economy than the sienna

3.0L V6 FWD should be identical to the sienna

3.0L V6 4WD should be just a stone throw from the sienna.

Then also note that I do more of highway driving in my movement when your journey is follow follow traffic in lagos, please stop calculating fuel economy cause you can run mad.

but your 260miles on full tank is alarmingly bad haba my Navigator V8 would do 320miles in city driving only with traffic.

A Scion is a Toyota the TC should be identical to Toyota Avensis.

You should focus on Benz if you prefer German. Don't go near that A6 as for the X3, You will need a good technician for fixes

The gas mileage of the g35 is not really that poor/bad unless there is an issue or you are often stuck in traffic.

I have being using the g35 (2003) for 4+years and my combined gas mileage is about 20miles/gallon on regular petrol (without boosters).

Daily driver. That's the only car I have, sef.

Your 2003 G35 uses a VQ35DE his G35 uses a VQ35HR (High Revving)

It uses same engine as the early G35 and identical stats with Maxima the M is heavier, the VQ would find it easier to pull the G35 and Maxima than the M, later on the G35 had a newer Engine with 7speed instead of 5 speed transmission.

The car has no general problem, the car resale value isn't poor but too many competition so selling may take a while, fuel consumption is above average but better than SUVs
