Hello house. I need clarity about some things (Toyota Camry - big daddy series) :
1. I observed that some 2005 Camry cars (for example) were produced in 2004, how come they are tagged 2005?
2. does every 2005 Camry come with the dreaded '13pin' auto transmission? if no, how does one detect which one has it or not?
3. why do people advise against the purchase of the 2005 and 2006 series basically because of the '13pin' auto transmission? is there a way to mitigate against this issue?

I'm planning to get a 2005 or 2006 Camry and want to be sure I'm not going on a 'long thing'. thank you as I await the gurus' response.

d 03-06 Camry never had a gear problem rather some 4 cylinder engine had stripped head bolt issues. 4 or 6 cylinder never had gear problem. The 13pin was next generation especially the 2007 model yyyear.

Hello my people, yesterday, I realized that, Naija fuel doesn't stop our cars from achieving the required MPG o.

On the highway yesterday, I got 28.4 MPG, 8.4l per 100km.....i was wowed.

If the journey had continued b4 I got into town, I probably would have gotten more.

There is nothing bad in a converted, converting a car doesn't from one hand drive to the other means nothing. The problem is a poorly converted car which any car knowledgeable individual can smell from afar, the dash alone will tell the tale mostly.

The easiest way for you to know would be inserting a obd scanner in the port all poorly converted vehicles always have that port non function. Any car manufactured from 2000 upwards without functional obd port should be stayed far away from.

Now to a layman's way of identifying a converted vehicle
1. hand brake would be at passenger side instead of driver side

2. if it's automatic the gear selector indicator (PRND123) on the gear selector would be facing the passenger

3. The wiper big hand would be on the passenger side instead of driver side

4. The child carriage indicator by the dashboard side close to door would be on the driver side.

5. the foot wall of the passenger side would have a clutch enclosure if it was an automatic from factory, if it's manual panel beater would have done some jomo jomo work there.

there are others that can only be identified if you have seen a normal hand before especially when you open bonnet system orientation may be different like compressor, steering pump, battery etc.

My sienna I bought tokunbo 2006 model year is sluggish when climbing up a hill and also finds it hard to climb road bumps, the car was bought 6 of March it was tolled to my place mechanic has not work on it yet just want to get right idea here please help me. The check engine is not ON ,,,, milage is 1000

is it an accidented vehicle, salvage vehicle or clean title? the mechanic still has to check it and scan the vehicle

I am not depressed though but I had great potential and I made some bad choices when I was a teen, sometimes I wish I could move back the hands of time.

Had a potential of joining the Army at a young age when Nigeria was still good, had an offer from a senior officer to be my guarantor turned it down for predegree.

Had an offer to go study in US when I was in 100L turned it down because I was afraid to start all over again and I didn't want to take the risk of the unknowing.

My greatest down fall in life currently is putting family first before myself. If I want to do anything I have to think of my family first if they will like me to be far away or listen to them when they say I shouldn't go else but stay close to home.

I have decided by the end of this year to put my self first even if it's to run away and start my family afresh, I want to take the risk and damn all consequences

before you can get help you need to be explicit and explain things from the beginning let me give you an insight

A week after I started noticing this issue please help me. The check engine light is on and scanner used reveal so so so code (you list the codes if possible). The car location is one corner on MARS etc

Then we can tell you what mechanic needs to do but if your location is close to any guru here and you don't mind trying them then they can assist you or send their apprentice if it's a minor fix.
