Element is same as a CR-V only body shell is different.

I would only advice you pick Element if you can live with the rear seat of 2 against 3 of regular cars but where the element trumps is cargo space. that your fridge, mattresses, cushion chairs, 42inch TV's The element will swallow it easily.

sienna doesn't have camber issues, no factory gear defect and the body is rock solid than Odyssey.

The 4 cylinder I think 2000 to 2002 had serious gear problem and highly underpowered but the V6 and 03 to 04 i4 were fixed.

The car design is a complete turnoff to me, it is the real big for nothing.

The body falls apart after long use, the rear leg work are prone to negative camber but I believe the shocks is better than sienna at the rear.

The materials used In the underbody lack water protection so expect rust in underbody if area is waterlogged or muddy. Worse if the vehicle is from Canada.

Above all I did advice if you intend to make the car a keeper the body after several years would make the value extremely low. That year itself has a very bad resale value for a minivan Nissan quest get rep pass am

Pontiac Vibe is the only viable car because it shares part with Toyota Matrix/Corolla. The vibe was a joint venture between Toyota and GM built on the matrix platform.

Any other Pontiac is a bankruptcy buy especially when your market is Nigeria. Though if you can get the classics like the Pontiac GTO, the V8 powered G6, Solstice convertible etc then maybe just maybe you can get a collector to buy.

Pontiac was pulled out by GM in 2010 so any other Pontiac you buy, OYO is your case.

You can import vehicle from UK but I don't know whether they have auction sites like the Americans but vehicles there are cheap the only major issue is the hand drive they come as (RHD).

In Europe some corolla are known as Auris I don't think it is known as that in UK. But the corolla sold in UK is an hatchback available in 3 or 5door with the 1.4L engine.

In latter years the corolla hatchback was discontinued to pave way for the auris, it's really a complicated something but from 06 I think the hatchback was axed and the Auris started its life.

They have told you how much custom papers would cost, the real question is are you ready to foot that bill. The amount you paid for the vehicle is exorbitant.

You paid custom fees to Benin republic but ommitted that of Nigeria reason why paying real duty is cheaper at tin can than from Benin republic.

I don't really see the big difference between a 2003 corolla and a 2007 corolla maybe because we have 2 of them and I have weighed them side by side. The only difference I know is in CE with manual windows all the other corolla years are identical except sport which wears skirt join the leggings

since you are already afraid of the CVT in Nissan, the Hyundai is a good buy, reliable and parts are bound. The Nissan isn't bad the 2.5L or 3.5L engine are as good too, but I did pick a sonata over the Altima if I don't have a professional abound in my location

This car unfortunately has been a huge money pit for me.

Apart from the dumb engine, every other part is in great impeccable condition; not a single rust, minimal scratches and the AC is as cold as any AC can get.

At this point, I am just trying to build something reliable that can be used at home or for city trips... giving some value to something almost as valueless as a discarded refrigerator.

Selling as is is not a good option. It implies I am throwing in the towel and not using this chance to learn something new. I don't do that.

These engines were not built to be repaired. They are powertrains meant to be discarded after usage...you can read online comments about them. How Kia would design such monstrosity still baffles me. One critical component of an engine that we all fail to even remember are the thread holes. Thread holes for the bolts and the threads themselves. If the Kia Rio engine should overheat just once, the thread holes start degrading to the point where camshafts can't sit in one place, the tappets get loosened etc....

Now, the alpha engine you mentioned is a very good choice. It is cheap, strong, built like normal engines and repairable too. I even have a 2008 Kia Cerato I can use as a donor.

Have you seen or heard of this engine been used as a swap? Would really appreciate more information.

These particular generation has not been done though. I found for the former a Mazda engine and someone was talking about Honda k series engine. There are other reliable engines that would fit your manual transmission in a heartbeat but I don't know how easy it is to source them, am talking about the diesel engine fitted to the Hyundai getz.

I am actually interested in the swap because the car is damn cheap not because of resale value but the shitty engine most people don't wait for it to overheat or out of warranty before they dispose off of it

for three years when I flogged my sienna everyday for 6days a week I hovered around 6xxx to 7xxxkm before I changed my oil every 6months that's 12k km or 14k km a year. if I travelled to Ogun state which has always been once in a blue moon for that year then I hover around 16xxxkm for that year

why don't you rather source for the 1.6L gamma with GDI made for the US market, that would be more solid.
