@Jakumo, Is that all you can say? I mean, really? Fani-Kayode’s mental health or lack thereof is not the issue. The man’s nature is known to all, hence my referral to him as a ‘rabid dog’. But, that is not really the point is it? Whether the stated revenue generated is true or not (and I am inclined to believe that it is), the fact remains that something is very wrong with this picture. If Fani-Kayode was speaking out of turn, King Kong would/should have stepped-up to set the record straight. He didn’t. Now, the issue this throws up is: If King Kong hasn’t come up to say Fani-Kayode was wrong in his claims, why are you lot doing it for him? Why throw yourself in the line of fire so carelessly? I can understand if Odeku does this. From thread to thread I have reprimanded his blinkered view on all things King Kong. I have no idea what you have been writing vis-à-vis King Kong but if I am to go by your claim that you are not a King Kong apologist, it becomes very difficult to comprehend your current stance - very difficult indeed. Also, why didn’t you read the links? You complained about the first not being credible. You said it was written by just ‘some guy in Texas’. I have now provided other links, one of which is a BBC report. Yet, you say you haven’t read them. With all due respect, I do not believe you. I believe you have been confronted with the truth and have (unwisely) chosen to turn a blind eye and go out of your way to introduce other matters. There is no need to sermonise about Fani-Kayode and his smoking habits. That is not the issue. Moreover, what is this your obsession with weed, cocaine and other illicit drugs? Are you trying to tell us something? A cry for help perhaps? I am just asking oh! In sum, the fact remains that King Kong did not refute the claims made by Fani-Kayode so it doesn’t become you to say the man was speaking out of turn. If you have facts to backup your CLAIMS then do share. I am open to a mind change in the face of hard facts. Remember, these sources (if you ever provide them) had better have the same level of credibility as you have required of mine. @Ono, My brother, thank you for your candour. Facts are facts. Let any who still has an argument to proffer take it up with the BBC and other sources. People who are open to the truth do not conduct themselves in the manner demonstrated above. Sometimes I cannot help but laugh at the attempts of many on this forum to catch the truth in a very tangled web. Anyway, let us continue to name and shame all those responsible for the suffering of many in that country. There are no sacred cows in my book. None! A thief is a thief. We stop fighting when we stop breathing. Greetings, comrade. |
Suggestion: This superhero character should also have the power to ban people by merely thinking about it. |

That is true mocha. I have just noticed the discrepancy thrown up by that. My first post actually read daily but that has since been corrected by my subsequent post. It is indeed unclear about whether the income is gross or net. But that is not the only thing that is unclear. The King Kong of a man himself has many 'unclear' qualities. Sadly, our brother Odeku appears to be following suit. |
@Jakumo, Odeku and Mariory, You fellas need to take it easy! Ah, Ah! Why so overly combative? I go start my own oh! All I did was present facts and you are all spitting fire. I find it hard to believe that you guys (avid politicos?) have never come across this issue before. This thing no be today tory. One thing I have never done (or indeed, will never do) is fabricate allegations against that war criminal. I do not need to do that. His record speaks for itself. My assertion is based on the utterances of King Kong’s rabid dog, Femi Fani-Kayode. You guys don’t like the source I provided before? Ok. See: http://www.elendureports.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=124&Itemid=33 And, http://www.saharareporters.com/dn001.php?dnid=25 If you still do not believe those sources (as you lot are evidently so hard to please), see the BBC report: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/4037633.stm Also, the affirmation that the main products of the Farm are only chicken and eggs is very wrong. I have been to the farm on a school trip. I saw with my eyes its size and scope. Others include Palm Oil, Fish, Veggies, et cetera. See: http://www.obasanjofarms.com/welcome.html Yeah, even King Kong has a website! This internet access thingy should not be made available to everyone! When you chaps are done reading, come back so we can talk (I believe apologies are in order). Oh, Odeku, I really don’t expect you to make any useful contribution in this matter – for reasons I have previously identified. I am waiting. |

Odeku:@Odeku, He stole the farm from the Nigerian people under the pretext of OFN so what do you mean when you say he got the farm before he became President? I have also noticed how you have quickly moved from talking about King King to talking about IBB. I am not fooled. Jakumo:"The statement credited to the President of Nigeria Aremu Olusegun Obasanjo through one of the news media that the president’s farm makes an average of $250,000 a day calls for celebration and a thorough review. At the exchange rate of 138 Naira to a dollar the General must be making over 34.5 million Naira per day and with an average of five working days the farming is grossing 172.5million Naira a week, with 50 weeks of work excluding 2 weeks to clean up and maintain the farm the Ota farm must be grossing averagely 8.3 billion Naira in a year. " See: http://www.gamji.com/article4000/NEWS4493.htm Next question? |
Odeku:@Odeku. I cannot help but notice that you have an uncanny knack for defending King Kong’s every twist and turn. While you are entitled to your opinions on all issues related to this criminal and destroyer of communities, I daresay that your opinions bear no reflection of the true state of affairs. If he must start fighting corruption from ‘one place’ as you put it, why is his acquisition of Otta Farms (from which he makes about 34 million Naira a day – while Nigerians starve!) or his acquisition of major shares in Transcorp (200 million – fully paid for!) not as good a place as any to start? |
@Afam, What is it you find so objectionable about my call for peace? If you feel the strong need to continue in what you believe is a reactive measure to the verbal abuse you have received, then that is your choice. I shall leave you to it. Whenever I get involved in arguments on this forum (and there have been many!), I also tend to ignore all voices of ‘reason’ (for a time at least) so I am not one to judge. However, in truth, it must be said that from where I stand, it is quite easy to observe that in this argument, there is no ‘win’ – only varying degrees of loss. |

@Afam and Davidlyan, Please, it is time to observe the ceasefire as suggested by Otokx. The conflict has been suspended and so too should the personal attacks on this thread. Although this thread has since ‘run away’ from me, I have enjoyed dipping in to keep abreast of the thinking of members on this issue. At this point, I am learning very little! Please! |

@Thread, Ordinarily, I should say I’m disappointed at the outcome. However, that would imply that I expected more from Nigeria. This is simply the manifestation of a much greater evil. It is the fruit from a country which continuously sets itself low standards which it continually fails to meet. ono:@Ono, Brother, of all the posts on this thread, yours touched me the most. I feel your deep sense of pain and I return it with a renewed sense of outrage. When one studies the ‘randomness’ of Nigerian politics, one cannot help but notice the patterns that have emerged. However, remember that “it is not those who inflict the most but those that endure the most that shall prevail" (Terence MacSwiney). You cannot, at this time, become weary of saying these things which all know but few readily acknowledge. I leave you with the enduring words of Thomas J. Williams: “Carry on, no matter what odds are against you. Carry on, no matter what the enemy call you. Carry on, no matter what torments are inflicted on you. The road to freedom is paved with suffering, hardship and torture. Carry on, my gallant comrades, until that certain day”. |
