Christianity EtcRe: Believers Loveworld! Building A Happier World With Love by nwakaibe(m): 9:58am On Apr 16, 2009
SirJohn:
Wow, Bro Donnie, we seem to have some testimonies in common except of course for the frequent car crashes.

I left CE completely Dec 2008, at that time, I seriously needed promotion in my job. I quit tithing and all other false forms of giving. It wasn't easy quiting as this was what I have consistently practiced for over ten years.

January this year, I got a rather unbelievable double promotion, the aftermath of it still rocks my former office. I earn over three times what I do before, I have a brand new official ride plus driver attached to me.

Just yesterday, I got the biggest cheque ever written in my name infact, I'm looking at the cheque as I write. The beauty of it all is that I didn't have to do any 'dangerous giving' for these blessings to come.

Catch ya later, I'm on my way to work in my new ride. Cheers!
May be, God is blessing you for the seeds you have sown in the past. wink wink wink

That is why one needs to know what they all stand for because they are different sorts of movements or groups which were coined by people. Most of these groups(I won't say all;but would specifically mention the word of faith movement and the Pentecostals{which are also rooted in WOF})have completely missed it in terms of the teachings or message of the bible. Many people who call themselves 'Christians' have associated themselves knowingly or unknowingly to these different groups and by so doing have lost their way.
One can't call such Christians, because Christians are supposed to be those who walk and live according to the word of God; with more emphasis on the new covenant.
So what is wrong with word of faith movement? do they teach the basic tenets of the gospel? where do we go from here? Your answer left more questions. I need something more detailed. That is a contrast between what the bible actually says and what the WOF says.

Nwakaibe,

you may choose to be responsible in whatever way you deem fit, but you will be an infidel if you don't first take care of your household.

What we need to address here is motive. Are you giving to fulfil all righteousness, out of compulsion and because you want your pastor's approval?
Here you go again cheesy cheesy cheesy.I take good care of my family. Most of the people i help are not from the church i attend. So I am not giving to gain any pastor's approval. I give because I see needs and decided to use what I have to meet some of them. My motive is out of love, giving and helping brethren.
While in school, a lot of brethren gave to help me.after school, a lot of brethren helped me to move around by giving cash gifts. They showed me love. So I have experience of Christians helping one another. I understand what it means to share what you have out of love. I understand what it means to care for one's family and relatives. I wish i can arrange for you to visit them to have a first hand information of what I am saying.
I have a simple philosophy of life; of what good are worldly goods if not to help those in need.

KunleOshob:
@Nwakaibe
It is not right as a christian for you to boast about the good deeds you do, you should keep it between yourself and God so that God would reward you. I can't remember the exact verse that said that now but would post it if i remember. wink
I only stated not boasted of what i have being doing to show that some Christians still do them and yet have nothing against programmes like The Experience. Every time some people will talk about taking care of the poor, orphans, widows. We are doing it.
KunleOshob:
You can start by personally implementing the directives of this scripture; James 1:27:
27 Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.
so it is part of my my reply to your post. love you bros cheesy cheesy

God bless u Oshob.

Nwaikabe,

u don't need any road map. Your daily living should reflect the Christ in you. If u need a starting point, then start with this; . . .

ask God to come into your heart and be saved. then start reading your bible like you should.
These I have done since cheesy cheesy cheesy
I have been taking care of needy people around me, paid house rents, JAMB fees, assisted many brethren financially. Even in the new year, I am aside a portion of my salary to help needy children.
I read my bible.
my opinion is this, i strongly believe we Christians have lost the key to our faith and we are all busy pursuing after shadows, before we forget the bible says "we are the light of the world" and its so surprising to see Christians spending over 30million on a 1-night concert and outside there there are over 3million souls dieing over hunger and drought in Africa is it not a shame, i swear if i see another faith that professes and practices all the teachings of Jesus and Jesus is their head i will quickly leave this pentecostal madness

1. where are the days of rural evangelism, do you know that if one can invest just 2million naira on hiring of equipments for rural outreach and some 21st century gadgets (projectors and flat sreens) can you imagine how many "lost souls" will sit down and watch movies and weep and turn away from their wrongs

2. imagine if we take 3million naira and sponsor some poor and less privileaged families to good schools after saving them, now thats what i call spending for Gods kingdom rather than using it to invite don moen and their likes , don't get me wrong i like the singer alot

3. i thought we are supposed to bring hope to a dieing world,if yes so why coundnt we use those million naira and spend to build good schools for the rural areas,, , "bible said let our lights so shine before all men that they will see our good works and glorify God who is in heaven"

i really think that it was God himself who really brought that rain on their EXPERIENCE foolishness! . . . . . its really pathetic
My friend, why not raise the required money and lets embark on some rugged rural Evangelical outreach. Instead of complaining, start somewhere.A lot of churches are doing serious rural Evangelical outreaches. Some are picking children off the streets and feeding them, clothing them and sending them to schools.some have built schools dedicated solely for the education of the poor.
A colleague from Fountain of Life recently told me of two houses the church keeps for homeless people, a hospital for the poor, training of people in various schools and renovations of schools in the area. Daystar is doing the some. Redeemed conducts a go a-fishing programme.Chosen conducts crusades almost every where. Christ Embassy has an inner city mission programme. I got a magazine from the mission detailing their projects in Rwanda, Burundi, Zimbabwe,Congo etc.
So start something and invite me. No hard feelings bros.

Christianity EtcRe: Speaking In Tongues by nwakaibe(m): 5:05pm On Nov 25, 2008
After being born again, you still need to work on your behaviour. You must take necessary steps to stop your old life style. It is your spirit man that got born again not your physical body. Therefore the natural desires of the flesh still remains. The Bible says Mortify your members. It is you that will put to death the members of your body.
That is the problem with the young lady. She needs to work on her self. She should put to death the works and demands of the flesh.
it pains me when I come across young people who really desire to serve the Lord but are caught in immoral life style. I know on first hand basis what it means to struggle against the desires of the flesh. I think churches should have dedicated units to address these challenges in youths.
Why I am saying so? This problem cuts across all the churches. I know what I am saying. I have had the privilege of interacting with young people from different churches who have such problems. I led a campus fellowship and functioned as a youth pastor in my former church.

TSUMANEE SPIRIT.jumani spirit. cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

This is what the tsumanee spirit does; it is powerful but can only be conquered by the blood of Jesus, the anointing oil and through deliverance. You can play with the name of Jesus but you cannot play with the blood of Jesus.
So PST Chris preaches against the blood as not being very useful now. He also preaches against deliverance and the use of the anointing oil. huh huh huh

Please take time and listen to Pastor Chris and understand what he teaches on the blood of Jesus. He always teaches on the need to get the word of God into your spirit first. Go for the word and when you get hold of the word, keep saying it, dont stop talking it. The Bible says in the City of Ephesus so mightily grew the word of God and prevailed. This is what he lays emphasis on. He always directs people to the word. cool cool cool

@ Nwaka

Haba, small small now huh

I have never seen a mother feed her baby inside the Church hall, they either go to the back of the church, the children's church or the nursery to breast feed.
wink wink winkWhat of churches in villages that lacks children's church or nursery? I grew up in a tiny village. Nursing mothers in full glare of the crowd will just go ahead and breastfeed their tots. Trust those little tots, that is the time they will prefer to play and make noise.
Other mothers will whip out feeding bottles, infant formula, cereal tongue tongue tongue and make the food right there in the church. As children then, how we wish that the mothers will for a moment let go of the infant formula cheesy cheesy cheesy, we would have dealt with it.
But, mothers are very wonderful.Imagine, breastfeeding a baby in the open. When I reflect on this, it makes me appreciate my mother more and more. Only that age is telling on her. cry cry cry cry.

@donnie, smiley smiley smiley smiley. Relax your nerves. The poster did not call pastor Chris to the work he is doing.since he is making his comments from a distance, he lacks full information to make an objective comment. So dont follow anyone in name calling. Just maintain a walk and heart of love. the master's work must go on irrespective of critics who do not take time to verify information. See you at IPPC. Hope you are ready cheesy cheesy cheesy

@pilgrim 1, thanks for the gentle correction on donnie's outburst. wink wink. I know how it feels when people post comments they have not fully verified.
To tell you more about Christ Embassy,we are sold out to the gospel. we reaching out and touching lives. for example, our inner city mission takes care of kid in the streets. Here, we pick abandoned kids, house them, clothe and send them to our schools. The quality of the schools are in line with the BLW standards. They attend school free, feed free, housed free and clothed free.
Some of the poor kids attend school from their parent's houses.the only condition required for admission is being poor.Partners of Inner City Mission take care of all expenses. The inner city mission is important and Ps Chris usually tells us"every child is your child, give them a hope'.
Several people are under his scholarship scheme. I was present at one night of bliss when he awarded a scholarship to a very sick girl who was healed at an earlier programme. The scholarship is to run till university level.
We have the healing school. This is my major partnership arm. I am always excited to see once deadly sick people receive a new lease of life through God's grace. Here people are taught the basic principles of faith and then prayed for. Most of the people attending healing school may have lost their businesses or jobs due to long periods of sickness.
In the end, an arm of the school helps such people re-start life through giving them money.
we have testimonies of several people from Saudi Arabia, Egypt,Yemen, Iran who converted to Christianity after attending healing school and God healed them of their illness.
The church in Egypt was started by a man who was healed at the school. He couldn't contain the testimony and many people who know him before surrendered to Christ because of him.
This is just a brief but on a less busy day in the office,I will offer more insight into Christ Embassy.
Again thanks for the loving correction kiss kiss

I worked as a crack finance reporter for six years and emerged as the National Vice Chairman of the finance Correspondents Association. So I know and understand journalism. This is SO TRUE of Christ Embassy. Everything comes at a price. You neglected to mention that his and his wife's pictures are splattered all over everything related to Christ embassy or Love(the)world. In Rhapsody of Realities, their pictures appear on every single page. Their headquarters in Ikeja looks like a shrine to Chris, with life-sized picture banners and all. And all their "pastors" are clones of him. sometimes i think the "christ" in Christ Embassy is the full form of his name, Chris. But are you sure they charge for seat bookings?? is the commercialization so absolute?

Also, like kunleOshob has asked, how can we verify the credibility of their net worth like you've estimated?
cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy Well, booking of seats at major Christ Embassy is just to have an estimate of attendees. The reason to help the workers provide enough logistics in terms of seats and mobile toilets. No body pays for seat booking.
For the poster, critics will always abound but all our works will be tested by fire.
