tonye-t: My friend, why not raise the required money and lets embark on some rugged rural Evangelical outreach. Instead of complaining, start somewhere.A lot of churches are doing serious rural Evangelical outreaches. Some are picking children off the streets and feeding them, clothing them and sending them to schools.some have built schools dedicated solely for the education of the poor. A colleague from Fountain of Life recently told me of two houses the church keeps for homeless people, a hospital for the poor, training of people in various schools and renovations of schools in the area. Daystar is doing the some. Redeemed conducts a go a-fishing programme.Chosen conducts crusades almost every where. Christ Embassy has an inner city mission programme. I got a magazine from the mission detailing their projects in Rwanda, Burundi, Zimbabwe,Congo etc. So start something and invite me. No hard feelings bros. |

After being born again, you still need to work on your behaviour. You must take necessary steps to stop your old life style. It is your spirit man that got born again not your physical body. Therefore the natural desires of the flesh still remains. The Bible says Mortify your members. It is you that will put to death the members of your body. That is the problem with the young lady. She needs to work on her self. She should put to death the works and demands of the flesh. it pains me when I come across young people who really desire to serve the Lord but are caught in immoral life style. I know on first hand basis what it means to struggle against the desires of the flesh. I think churches should have dedicated units to address these challenges in youths. Why I am saying so? This problem cuts across all the churches. I know what I am saying. I have had the privilege of interacting with young people from different churches who have such problems. I led a campus fellowship and functioned as a youth pastor in my former church. |

TSUMANEE SPIRIT.jumani spirit. This is what the tsumanee spirit does; it is powerful but can only be conquered by the blood of Jesus, the anointing oil and through deliverance. You can play with the name of Jesus but you cannot play with the blood of Jesus. So PST Chris preaches against the blood as not being very useful now. He also preaches against deliverance and the use of the anointing oil. Please take time and listen to Pastor Chris and understand what he teaches on the blood of Jesus. He always teaches on the need to get the word of God into your spirit first. Go for the word and when you get hold of the word, keep saying it, dont stop talking it. The Bible says in the City of Ephesus so mightily grew the word of God and prevailed. This is what he lays emphasis on. He always directs people to the word. |

affee: What of churches in villages that lacks children's church or nursery? I grew up in a tiny village. Nursing mothers in full glare of the crowd will just go ahead and breastfeed their tots. Trust those little tots, that is the time they will prefer to play and make noise. Other mothers will whip out feeding bottles, infant formula, cereal and make the food right there in the church. As children then, how we wish that the mothers will for a moment let go of the infant formula , we would have dealt with it. But, mothers are very wonderful.Imagine, breastfeeding a baby in the open. When I reflect on this, it makes me appreciate my mother more and more. Only that age is telling on her. . To my old woman |

@donnie, . Relax your nerves. The poster did not call pastor Chris to the work he is doing.since he is making his comments from a distance, he lacks full information to make an objective comment. So dont follow anyone in name calling. Just maintain a walk and heart of love. the master's work must go on irrespective of critics who do not take time to verify information. See you at IPPC. Hope you are ready @pilgrim 1, thanks for the gentle correction on donnie's outburst. . I know how it feels when people post comments they have not fully verified. To tell you more about Christ Embassy,we are sold out to the gospel. we reaching out and touching lives. for example, our inner city mission takes care of kid in the streets. Here, we pick abandoned kids, house them, clothe and send them to our schools. The quality of the schools are in line with the BLW standards. They attend school free, feed free, housed free and clothed free. Some of the poor kids attend school from their parent's houses.the only condition required for admission is being poor.Partners of Inner City Mission take care of all expenses. The inner city mission is important and Ps Chris usually tells us"every child is your child, give them a hope'. Several people are under his scholarship scheme. I was present at one night of bliss when he awarded a scholarship to a very sick girl who was healed at an earlier programme. The scholarship is to run till university level. We have the healing school. This is my major partnership arm. I am always excited to see once deadly sick people receive a new lease of life through God's grace. Here people are taught the basic principles of faith and then prayed for. Most of the people attending healing school may have lost their businesses or jobs due to long periods of sickness. In the end, an arm of the school helps such people re-start life through giving them money. we have testimonies of several people from Saudi Arabia, Egypt,Yemen, Iran who converted to Christianity after attending healing school and God healed them of their illness. The church in Egypt was started by a man who was healed at the school. He couldn't contain the testimony and many people who know him before surrendered to Christ because of him. This is just a brief but on a less busy day in the office,I will offer more insight into Christ Embassy. Again thanks for the loving correction |

A_K_O: If some of them start granting press conferences, it would be tagged a show off. It remains my personal opinion that preachers should the pulpit, evangelism, soul winningetc and leave press conferences and journalists for the politicians, bankers, etc to handle. I worked as a crack finance reporter for six years and emerged as the National Vice Chairman of the finance Correspondents Association. So I know and understand journalism. I have to express gross displeasure with a lot of journalists in the way they misrepresented facts. For me, leave preachers out of the press. A_K_O . carmelily: Well, booking of seats at major Christ Embassy is just to have an estimate of attendees. The reason to help the workers provide enough logistics in terms of seats and mobile toilets. No body pays for seat booking. For the poster, critics will always abound but all our works will be tested by fire. |

pilgrim.1: You are right on the mark. Maturity in faith enables to see where we are missing it on own part and stop pointing accusing fingers.Severally, I have pointed out that I have good friends from different churches and our point of meeting is love. I attend Christ Embassy but I have good friends from Redeemed, Watchman, Chosen and Deeper. We leave the frills or non essentials of whether to use makeup, deodorant, body spray or head tie and focus on the main commission, the job of soul winning and discipleship. At times, I shudder at the way some xtians tear each other down in the name of proving a point. I posted a case of testimony as well as supplying information as how to locate the testifier, I was labled a non credible source . I just smiled co I know fully that what I posted is true. I think we have a lot that binds us. But for those who feel otherwise, No hard feelings. Maturity is a continuous process and while we are on it, lets save our mouths, sorry fingers from typing all manner of things in trying to put across our points. Love you all |

let me paste the relavant verses in different versions for more clarity. Maybe I will come back and pose some thoughts. Message translation 23 -26Let me go over with you again exactly what goes on in the Lord's Supper and why it is so centrally important. I received my instructions from the Master himself and passed them on to you. The Master, Jesus, on the night of his betrayal, took bread. Having given thanks, he broke it and said, This is my body, broken for you. Do this to remember me. After supper, he did the same thing with the cup: This cup is my blood, my new covenant with you. Each time you drink this cup, remember me. What you must solemnly realize is that every time you eat this bread and every time you drink this cup, you reenact in your words and actions the death of the Master. You will be drawn back to this meal again and again until the Master returns. You must never let familiarity breed contempt. 27 -28Anyone who eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Master irreverently is like part of the crowd that jeered and spit on him at his death. Is that the kind of "remembrance" you want to be part of? Examine your motives, test your heart, come to this meal in holy awe. 29 -32If you give no thought (or worse, don't care) about the broken body of the Master when you eat and drink, you're running the risk of serious consequences. That's why so many of you even now are listless and sick, and others have gone to an early grave. If we get this straight now, we won't have to be straightened out later on. Better to be confronted by the Master now than to face a fiery confrontation later. Amplified version 23For I received from the Lord Himself that which I passed on to you [it was given to me personally], that the Lord Jesus on the night when He was treacherously delivered up and while His betrayal was in progress took bread, 24And when He had given thanks, He broke [it] and said, Take, eat. This is My body, which is broken for you. Do this to call Me [affectionately] to remembrance. New Living translation 22 What? Don’t you have your own homes for eating and drinking? Or do you really want to disgrace God’s church and shame the poor? What am I supposed to say? Do you want me to praise you? Well, I certainly will not praise you for this! 23 For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself. On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread 24 and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, “This is my body, which is given for you.[f] Do this to remember me.” 25 In the same way, he took the cup of wine after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood. Do this to remember me as often as you drink it.” 26 For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until he comes again. 27 So anyone who eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord unworthily is guilty of sinning against[g] the body and blood of the Lord. 28 That is why you should examine yourself before eating the bread and drinking the cup. 29 For if you eat the bread or drink the cup without honoring the body of Christ,[h] you are eating and drinking God’s judgment upon yourself. 30 That is why many of you are weak and sick and some have even died. Young literal translation 23For I -- I received from the Lord that which also I did deliver to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which he was delivered up, took bread, 24and having given thanks, he brake, and said, `Take ye, eat ye, this is my body, that for you is being broken; this do ye -- to the remembrance of me.' 25In like manner also the cup after the supping, saying, `This cup is the new covenant in my blood; this do ye, as often as ye may drink [it] -- to the remembrance of me;' 26for as often as ye may eat this bread, and this cup may drink, the death of the Lord ye do shew forth -- till he may come; 27so that whoever may eat this bread or may drink the cup of the Lord unworthily, guilty he shall be of the body and blood of the Lord: 28and let a man be proving himself, and so of the bread let him eat, and of the cup let him drink; 29for he who is eating and drinking unworthily, judgment to himself he doth eat and drink -- not discerning the body of the Lord. 25Similarly when supper was ended, He took the cup also, saying, This cup is the new covenant [ratified and established] in My blood. Do this, as often as you drink [it], to call Me [affectionately] to remembrance. 26For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are representing and signifying and proclaiming the fact of the Lord's death until He comes [again]. 27So then whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in a way that is unworthy [of Him] will be guilty of [profaning and sinning against] the body and blood of the Lord. 28Let a man [thoroughly] examine himself, and [only when he has done] so should he eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29For anyone who eats and drinks without discriminating and recognizing with due appreciation that [it is Christ's] body, eats and drinks a sentence (a verdict of judgment) upon himself. |

pilgrim.1: There are testimonies from different parts of the world of folks' lives being changed by using the lessons in the devotional. The bible lessons are designed to impact on different aspects of a man's life. Now, You or my self may not be able to reach such people, butsomehow, a copy gets to them. So it comes as a bearer of good news, the same some of the exhortations on the e-xtian fellowship on Nairaland. I have heard a testimony of how reading a small xtian booklet written by a Nigerian author saved a man in Germany. Now the author had not been to Germany before but somebody from Nigeria somehow gave the booklet to the man and there was a change. The author of the booklet is Pastor Cosmas Ilechukwu of Charismatic Renewal Ministries. In essence, that small book was a bearer of good news and ministered to the man in Germany that God loves him despite the circumstances. It is in that context that Rhapsody is dubbed messenger angel. It is not dubbed messenger angel in the context of heavenly angelic beings. It is in the context of the Bible lessons it contains and reaching places we may not physical reach. |

Yesterday, I remembered this song.It is the journey of the xtian. 1. I'm pressing on the upward way, New heights I'm gaining every day; Still praying as I onward bound, "Lord, plant my feet on higher ground." Chorus Lord, lift me up, and let me stand, By faith, on heaven's table-land, A higher plane than I have found; Lord, plant my feet on higher ground. 2. My heart has no desire to stay Where doubts arise and fears dismay; Tho' some may dwell where these abound, My prayer, my aim, is higher ground 3. I want to live above the world Tho' Satan's darts at me are hurled; For faith has caught the joyful sound, The song of saints on higher ground. 4. I want to scale the upmost height, And catch a glimpse of glory-bright; But still I'll pray till Heav'n I've found, "Lord, plant my feet on higher ground." This song inspires me any time I sing or hear it being sung. I beg, is it song, sang or sung. I tire for this oyibo |

KunleOshob: Let me first and foremost give you a view into my back ground, I was a journalist with one of the leading national Newspapers located on Oshodi-Apapa Expressway. I quit journalism in Oct 2007. So I understand the way and behaviour of Journalists when reporting. From the same event, you would see conflicting reports and wonder what happened. If i am to be a pastor, I will not allow them to cover events in the church i pastor. They can attend the service and take notes like any other person. Officially invite them, no. Second. There is no need for you to believe me. Just believe God.simple. The whole essence of our believing is God and not in fellow mortals . Like I usually point out, I have friends that range from Catholics to Anglicans, Lord's Chosen, Deeper Life. Our point of contact is Jesus saves and the love of God. Third.I will never fabricate testimonies to prove a point. I only directed Naira landers to a journalist who i met in the course of pen pushing who testified to some of us what happened to him. Up till now , Pastor Chris doesn't know about the testimony. I will post the requisite testimonies in due time. This is about a national figure healed in may. People have seen him in the past very sick. Details soon Fourth. The Healing School is more of a place for teachings and bible study series on Faith. I have seen churches call their bible study sessions School of the word while others adopt school of faith, digging deep etc. It sounds funny to see what commotion different names for the same thing causes. I told a lady in my office that her church has a camp ground in my mother's village, she protested seriously and said it is called assembly ground. Well, what is the difference between six and half a dozen. Fifth. In all, let love be the focal point. It is not Chris work, Not my own work< not Naira landers or Seun's work but God's work. He is the final arbiter. |

Carlosein: Today's reading is a reflection of what goes on in our society. Our leaders want us to bow to them as they repair public infrastructures or provide the basic necessities of life. Not doing good when we are to do it is sinful. During the celebration of the mass, the priest leads us in the confession statement and we say, for I have sinned through my thoughts, words and deeds and through leaving undone the good deeds I am supposed to do. Though this a paraphrase of the prayer, I think if our leaders in Nigeria should pray and take time to reflect on it, they will pay more attention to the good of the common man. Think of the good deeds of road construction left undone, who then is responsible for hundreds that perish on such roads. The list is endless. It is time they realise that leaving goods deeds undone is sin. . |
