Carlosein: Well, the rules made by the church are designed to teach us self control, to bring our bodies under the control of the spirit. But as time went on, some of us decided to move on. Actually, I joined one of the charismatic groups in the church and then . you understand . I had a swell time time with the charismatics. We were at St Patricks Awka i think in 1985 for eastern regional conference. However, persecution arose from here and there from people who want to subdue us. . So i moved on. But today they are my good friends . Hope i answered your question. |

Carlosein: feel to rollick with you people . It is a long time i have not heard mass and the church demands that you hear the mass every sunday and on holy days of obligation. Also, I have not been to confession in the last 19 years thereby violating the rule of confessing ones sins at least once in a year especially during the period of pascal. . Also i have eaten meat on the days the church debars faithfulls fro meat consumption. . Well, i am gone but still remembers my catechism. |

I am not a member of TB's church. Never come in close contact to him but please what qualifies him to be fake? Substantiate your answers with relevant bible verses. Enough of name calling without strong evidence. I don't repeat what people say unless they bring forth their evidence. |

Tgirl4real: It is becoming fashionable for people to say and post what they are not sure of. Tgirl4real be sure of your facts. When xtians embark on name calling without facts, I get amazed. How many people have you interviewed and they told you that Pst. Chris manipulated them? He is not looting his members. At least I am one and I know how the church operates. I am a regular at the blog owned by a top member or pastor of Crown. I deliberately refrained from posting there but sent him a mail when one issue came up. and I repeat what I mailed to him, "be sure of your facts before posting". lest on the last day or when Christ comes, we are found to have borne false witnesses. Xtians should not just run their mouths for the sake of bashing or speaking. |

Pilgrim1. I feel you. You may wonder why some BLW members go beyond the bend at times. The level of name calling among xtians on some threads is mind boggling. So guys who are not yet matured can go off the cuff. despite being persecuted severely by my dad when i got born again and left the catholic church, i still love the old man. i am very proud of him . at least he sent me to school. so just say anything against him and the rest is, .will get back to you later |
Religion / Re: Chris Oyakhilome Is A Phoney by nwakaibe(m): 2:52pm On Sep 09, 2008 |
If people ask questions and engage BLW brethren on issues they haven't made clear, all of a sudden non-BLW brethren are of the devil, not so? It is the same Scripture we are discussing - and if you make an unclear statement and are called upon it, why should the enquirer be "of the devil" simply because of that? Did people not ask the Lord Jesus Christ numerous questions? Did He accuse them all of being "of the devil" because they asked questions as regards the above, i may not know the number of BLW members you have interacted with or the level of their maturity. Like I stated in another thread, I am a member of Christ Embassy or BLW. I have serious friends from Deeper life, Watchman, Lord's Chosen, Anglicans and Catholics. I focus on the common faith that was once delivered to the believers. I believe in divine healing, health, prosperity. The salvation package includes all these and even more. But i have met people who insist that salvation package is strictly for being born again and then what ever we see in life we take. to cement their position, they refer to Eccs. , time and chance happen to them all. well, i strive and endeavour to walk in love. i may win the argument but not the heart of the person. the ultimate is heaven which should be the goal and end point of every xtian. however, i have seen a lot of unnecessary name calling in here and a number of blogs. this should not be the spirit. Like i told one Jehovah Witness in my office who accused me of believing things that are not realistic, i believed with my own heart and not her own. So pilgrim1, at Christ embassy, we dd not embark on name calling. |

davidylan: davidylan wetin we do you? abeg allow us enjoy our rhapsody. but to be serious, what is eternal life and when does eternal life start, now or in the life to come. well the last time i checked, the bible said we are partakers of the divine nature. put this together and what you have is a victorious life. |
Religion / Re: Chris Oyakhilome Is A Phoney by nwakaibe(m): 11:04am On Sep 03, 2008 |
One thing i have come to realize is that though Christians bear the name of Christ, that is are saved, we may not operate on the same level of faith, understanding and walking in love. I was born and breed a pure catholic. even thought of becoming a reverend father. joined the charismatic group as a very young chap. before then i thought that all xtians out side the catholic church are doomed. well i now know better. Today i have deep and good friends from Deeper Life, Watchman, Lord's chosen and even MFM. we focus on the need of the hour, getting people saved. it boils my heart when xtians lose their focus and focus on the minor. So the problem is the individuals level of maturity. |

A_K_O: A_K_O Well if you say something about my pastor and it is false, i will point it out. but if you persist in spreading the falsehood, i will just shrug my shoulders. no name calling. Pastor Chris is my pastor and one thing i have learnt from him is to hold my peace even when people are spreading false hood. |

It pains my heart when people run down men of God without proof. as a journalist i have several proofs that miracles recorded or that happen in Christ embassy are real. Lanre Oyetade is the Group Business Editor of Tribune Newspapers. while watching atomshere for miracles, his case was mentioned and he was healed of a problem in the feet or toes. open the pages of tribune where he anchors personal finance and you can get his number. call him. it is a lazy man's argument that miracles that happen at Christ embassy are not verifiable.people making such claims should do well to investigate and verify whether they are real. i know of at least three people who attended healing school of embassy and are doing fine in their health. last word; Rom 14:4 Who are you that judges another's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. But he will stand, for God is able to make him stand. this verse is very true. |

Ify, part 2 of the series. Mbe follows Nkita to wrestling fair. Before the appointed day, Mbe went and got himself a new cutlass which he kept sharpening with salt and grinding stone. Mbe would strut around throwing up the cutlass and catching it. He suddenly dash into the bush and slash at trees demonstrating how he would slash the necks of mkpi he will won at the fair. He went to Nkita’s house and showed him the knife and did a warrior’s dance saying that his father Aniga was a renowned warrior of note. Nkita told him to sheath the cutlass until he wins at the wrestling fair saying that you have to hold the egbe(kite) in your hands before asking whether women can partake of the meat. On the appointed day, Mbe was at Nkita’s house early in the morning. He came with ten ropes and after the morning ritual of nzu and oji, they left together for the wrestling fair. On the way, Mbe was regaling Nkita of his prowess in manly activities such as wars, farming, wrestling and others. Nkita advised Mbe to save his breath and used it at the arena. Very soon, the duo arrived at the arena and registered their presence. The organizers of the fair came and read out the rules of the competition saying that while some go home in triumph, others would go home in tethers being led as trophies. Those who did not agree should pack their bags and go home or cheer from the side lines. Nkita quickly went into action and asked Mbe to watch him do the first wrestling. He touched a big fat mkpi and two of them begin to slug it out. Very soon, Nkita did a special trick and the mkpi was down. He went and tethered it at where defeated animals were kept. He told Mbe to come and prove his wrestling prowess. Mbe greedily pounced on a big mkpi and in a twinkle of an eye the he-goat had Mbe on the ground. Mbe begin to plead with Nkita not to allow the mkpi take him home. Nkita listened to him and bailed him by sacrificing the goat he won early on. With that done, Nkita asked Mbe to stay on the side line and not wrestle again. Nkita now swing into action and in short time ten mkpis. Mbe out of envy went to wrestle again and was defeated. The victor tied him to the stake. When Nkita came to tether another, he saw Mbe tied up at the stake. Mbe again pleaded to be saved. Nkita being the person that brought Mbe to the place again saved him. As the fair was rounding up, Nkita saw one old mkpi suffering from afo osi-sa (diarrhea) and Mbe to wrestle that one. Alas Mbe could not defeat that one. But as the judges were momentarily distracted, Nkita kicked off the mkpi legs from behind and Mbe pushed him down. He now used all the ropes he brought and tethered the goat. It was now time to go him, while Nkita took along the twelve he goats he won, Mbe was dragging the only one Nkita helped him to win. Mbe was busy plotting how to cheat Nkita out of his prizes as they headed home. He was envious of nkita's success and decided to use tricks collect the mkpis. Wait for the continuation. |

Ify rove take this one for a start. will complete it later. Mbe follows Nkita to wresting fair. In the early days when animals still retained the power of speech and Lion was the king of the jungle, there were foot paths under the palm and ukwa trees while lizards still moved in twos and threes. Then the tree tops were the natural abode of the osa and uze, while stories were still told under moon lights. There was a terrible famine in the animal kingdom. Rains refused to fall at the appropriate time, grasses dried up and the animals could not find food to eat. Following the famine, many animals started dying off while those that survived looked skinny and bony from the hunger effect. Only Nkita among the animals was looking healthy and most animals thronged his house to find out his secret. Nkita being a shrewd animal refused to divulge the source of his well being. Mbe being a tricky fellow and full of cunning decided to break through Nkita’s resistance and discover the secret to his food source. He visited a counselor to advise him on how to win Nkita’s favor. The counselor told him that Nkita loves fresh palm wine and advised him to go to him with a calabash of fresh one. One early morning, Mbe arrived at Nkita’s house and started praising him on his skills as a hunter, trust and speed. The praise singing continued and Mbe brought the calabash of palm wine and presented to Nkita. After the normal ritual of breaking of kola nuts, Mbe presented his case to Nkita saying that Nkita should help him. Nkita gave him large pieces of meat and Mbe was thrilled and asked him for the source. Nkita told Mbe that he gets the meat from mkpi (he-goat) he wins at wrestling fairs held weekly at the goats’ village in the neighboring community. He explained that in the wrestling fair, who ever is thrown down belongs to the victor who is free to sell him or slaughter him for food. Also the victim could be redeemed. Nkita then asked Mbe whether he is a good wrestler. Mbe replied that his father was the wrestling champion of his own and the skill flows in his system. He asked Mbe to come back early morning in two days time so they can proceed to the wrestling fair. The wrestling fair holds every two igbo market weeks. He also drilled it into Mbe’s ears that the rules meant that if he is thrown, he becomes the property of the victor and Mbe accepted agreeing to meet Nkita on the agreed date. |
