Goinhard:
All jet fuel is kerosene but not all kerosene is jet fuel. You Figure it out
Jet fuel is more refined than normal kerosene. I remember one airport security official, my neighbor in Calabar then, used to bring jet fuel in plastic kegs. They usually siphon from the tanks at the airport and sell. Jet fuel burns with a pure blue flame. I think they added some chemicals for blending. Some unscrupulous marketers pass on normal kerosene as jet A1 fuel. There were some allegations in Nigeria some years back that some marketers were supplying cooking kerosene to airlines instead of Jet A1.

Ethiopia is rapidly expanding its modern railway network, focusing on linking industrial hubs to Red Sea ports and enhancing urban connectivity. Key projects include a $1.58 billion rail line connecting northern Ethiopia to Djibouti ports, local construction of an eco-tourism railway, and high-speed passenger links between Addis Ababa and new airport facilities.Major Railway Projects and Developments (2025–2026)Northern Line to Red Sea Ports: The Ethiopian Railway Corporation (ERC) is pursuing a $1.58 billion, 216 km standard-gauge railway linking the north to Red Sea ports of Tadjourah, Assab, and Massawa to improve trade access.
Addis Ababa-Djibouti Railway:
The 756 km electrified line, which has been in commercial operation since 2017, continues to be a central trade corridor, with new 3–5 km feeder lines connecting industrial zones like AMG Industrial Park and Geda Economic Zone to the main network
.Eco-Tourism Railway: Ethiopia is nearing completion of its first domestically built 5 km eco-tourism railway, aimed at connecting tourist sites to the national rail network, with localized construction lowering costs.
High-Speed Airport Link: A new high-speed passenger train (120–200 km/h) is planned to connect Addis Ababa (Bole Area) to a new airport project near Bishoftu, potentially making it the fastest in sub-Saharan Africa.
Awash-Kombolcha-Hara Gebeya Railway: Maintenance is being finalized on this line, with efforts led by Ethiopian engineers to make it operational.

CultureRe: The Reality Of Double Bride Price In Akwa Ibom by nwakaibe(m): 12:48pm On May 07
UkoAnnang:
angry

Op kindly single out these tribes in Akwa.
Don't say Akwa Ibom in general.

We have many tribes in Akwa Ibom and this nonsense here is not applicable to my Annang tribe.

In Annang tribe cohabitation is prohibited. if a man must live together with a woman, then he must pay her bride price.

Note, in our tradition, bride price is not expensive, in some family bride price is not more than ₦100, while some is as low as ₦10, ₦20 and ₦50 with a bottle of dry gin.

For the father
1. Tobacco
2. Walking stick
3. One traditional wear with strikes of lions or tiger heads (what we call uko ekpe). This wear signify the strength of a traditional Annang man.
4 a traditional Annang cap

For the the mother.
1. One length of wrapper
2. A bag of salt
3. A smaller basin of crayfish
4 one umbrella.
5. 1 stick of dry fish

For the general house
1. 2 cartons of beer
2. 2 create of soft drinks
3. 1 create of malt
4. Football
5. 5. Packet of Cigarette.
6. 1 red and white chalk (usei)
7 1 bottle of dry gin
8. small fishes
9. 1 female goat (this is only applicable if the bride is the first daughter of the family)

The palm wine for the events is to be provided by the father in-law. After drinking the palm wine, the son in-law can put anything or even return the cup empty to the father in-law.
We are not like our eastern neighbours who demand for dollars before the cup could be returned back

With what its listed a man can marry a woman, if the man is incapable to afford these items, his kins men can do so in his behalf.

Therefore the the issue of cohabitation is impossible in my tribe. So the prospective son in-law cannot pay bride price of mother in-law.

Also note that, in our traditional Annang land, if a man refuses to pay his woman bride price, the family of the woman will not accept anything from him, be it food, drink, money, kola, water. The mother of the woman is prohibited from visited her daughter while in such marriage.
These make it more difficult for a man and woman to cohabit in my tradition

OP next time make ur research well and single out the tribe involved in some abominable tradition before thunda faya u
You wrote well but allowed tribal bigotry to cloud your mind. The topic is on double bride price. Why drag your Eastern neighbors inside. There are Annang women who are cohabiting as i am typing.

PRESS RELEASE

ENUGU ROAD TRAGEDY: TEN LIVES LOST, TEN INJURED AS CP GIWA MOURNS, ORDERS INVESTIGATION

The Enugu State Police Command regrets to inform the public of two separate but tragic fatal road accidents that occurred today, 3rd September 2025, along the Ozalla/4-Corner axis of the dual-carriage Enugu/Port-Harcourt Expressway. The crashes claimed ten lives and left ten others hospitalized.

The first incident, a multiple-vehicle crash, happened at about 9 a.m. on the Enugu inward-bound lane. A Howo truck, inscribed Visco Investment Global and laden with bags of white cement, was en route Abuja from Aba, Abia State, when it collided with a Toyota Corolla car that was attempting to overtake another truck on the same route. A Foton bus and a Daihatsu Hijet mini bus, both driving one-way, were also caught in the collision. Sadly, the truck head and the Toyota Corolla car went up in flames, with five occupants of the car burning to death. A passenger in the mini bus was equally confirmed dead by the attending medical doctor.

Similarly, at about 3 p.m. on the same road, another fatal crash occurred. This time, it involved a Sino truck belonging to Global Investment and a tricycle. The truck, laden with cement and driving one-way from Garriki Enugu to Nenwe in Aninri LGA, on the same Enugu inward-bound lane, rammed into the tricycle, leading to the death of its four occupants. They were rushed to the hospital but later confirmed dead.

Ten other persons, injured in the separate crashes, are currently receiving medical attention.

The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, psc, while mourning the tragic loss of lives and commiserating with the families of the deceased, has directed the State Motor Traffic Department to carry out a diligent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accidents.

The CP describes the crashes as avoidable and strongly cautioned drivers to exercise utmost care, especially during these Ember Months, when road traffic usually increases and accidents are more frequent. He reminded motorists that no journey is worth the loss of lives, urging them to shun recklessness, obey traffic rules, and prioritize safety over speed to prevent further tragedies.

I am married to a Igbo man. We are based in Italy. We have 4 children 3 together. I have 3 girls for him. I tested positive for baby number 5 and we were discussing about the gender, my husband said something that makes me feel so bad.
He wants a son so bad. He said in Igbo tribe, a man is nothing without a son. I asked him what if we had another baby girl he said he will have no choice but to go to Nigeria and marry another woman who will bear sons for him so he can be a real man.
I asked him if he was serious then he changed his words saying he was joking, he doesn't mind the sex of our baby as long as the baby is healthy that is what matter.
I have been restless since he has mentioned about marrying a second wife even though he said it was a joke but I know that he wasn't joking, he was serious.
I want to know from igbo people, is it true that a man is nothing without a son and also what if the wife only bore female children is it compulsory for the man to marry a second one in Igbo tribe to bear him sons?
He should be grateful that he has kids. What of those that married, tried IVF etc and no child to show for it?
It is more of an individual thing nowadays.

BusinessAMCON Debunk Plans To Take Over Dangote Refinery by nwakaibe(op): 8:55am On Aug 11, 2021
Contrary to some reports that the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) could take over the Dangote Refinery over debts owed by the Dangote Group to banks, the corporation have denied such claims, saying it have no business with the group.
Some online news platforms had on Tuesday reported that Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, could forfeit the Dangote Refinery over a $7 billion debt burden owed to commercial banks in the country with a possible takeover by AMCON.
AMCON, however, denied such plans. It said neither Dangote Refinery or the Dangote Group are on its debtors’ list, hence it couldn’t have plan to take over the assets.
Head of Corporate Communications at AMCON, Jude Nwauzor, told LEADERSHIP that since the Dangote Group is not on its debtors list, the rumour that it was planning to take over the assets of Dangote Refineries is false.
Multiple sources in the Dangote Group also said the report was “false and malicious”, as the group has the capacity to service and pay its debt.
AMCON had in 2010 purchased 12,743 bad loans worth N3.8 trillion from 22 Eligible Financial Institutions (EFIs) for a purchase price of N1.8 trillion.
According to AMCON, Dangote Refineries was not part of the bad debts that it took over and there was no way it would be taking over the assets of the company now.
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) had recently approved the acquisition of 20 per cent minority stake by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in the Dangote Petroleum and Petrochemical Refinery.
LEADERSHIP reports that Dangote Oil Refinery is a 650,000-barrel per day (BPD) integrated refinery project under construction in the Lekki Free Zone of Lagos.

When Sardauna was killed by coupists in 1966, Tivs were so bitter with Igbos because they thought he was their brother having offered them some positions in his northern Nigeria Govt. Many Igbos who had escaped slaughter in the far north were waylaid and slaughtered in their thousands by Tiv mobs who blocked the roads to take revenge on behalf of the Fulanis.
When the civil war broke out, the bulk of the foot soldiers on the Nigerian side came mostly from the old Benue/ Plateau State while the Fulanis controlled the Officer cadre led by the genocidal Murtala Mohammed and also had Buhari. They were protected by not being deployed to very risky fronts.

Also If the World Health Organization tells you to take an expired Vaccine, then know that there's something going on that you don't know about. How do we know the ones brought to Nigeria isn't also expired? These countries received the vaccine before us. But the point here is that WHO wants you to take something that's expired. I work closely with CACOVID and can tell you about the vaccines. CACOVID is the private sector led Coalition Against Covid. If the WHO and other global bodies ask you to keep and not destroy expired vaccines, keep and wait for further instructions. Some of the vaccines brought to Nigeria expired sometime in April, hence they stopped vaccination and waiting for a fresh batch.

There actually needs to be proper channels for adoption and wilful release of children to foster homes by parents who can't cater for them. We need to accept that reality in this part of the world so that people can stop doing things like this the wrong and criminal way.
Not everyone is financially capable or otherwise capable of caring for children. The whole adoption and foster home approach in Nigeria seems virtually non-existent.
Too bad!
The Govt made adoption of babies in Nigeria to be a herculean task, costing arm and leg and a whole lot of legal work.
But if the law id made easier, she would have gone to a motherless babies home and handed over the baby, sign some documents and move on.
