Politics / Re: Lauretta Onochie Reacts As Atiku Wins PDP Presidential Ticket by Nwaohafia1: 5:05pm On Oct 07, 2018
Ebullience:
The Presidency on Sunday reacted to the emergence of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate ahead of the 2019 elections.

Atiku scored 1532 votes to beat 12 other contestants who had vied for the party’s sole ticket.

The PDP’s National convention chaired by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State held in Port Harcourt between 6th and 7th October 2018.

However, in a swift reaction, Buhari’s Aide on New Media, Lauretta Onochie, while congratulating Atiku, said his emergence has made APC’s job easy.

You see. In football back in the days in Enugu. This kind of statement is what we call 'Amasi'. That is a playing a mind game

Before any wrestling match, the weaker person barks more than a dog as if he will win.

Well, Laureta Onochie, we will soon welcome you to PDP before 2019.

Atiku will best Buhari like a baby

PMB has never ever lost any election to Atiku. He has always even beaten Atiku right in his Adamawa and you say APC is jittery.

That codeine you are on is bad for your mental health. Stay off it

What you don't understand is that greater percentage of Nigerians and northern elites are angry with Buhari. Before 2019, you will witness a massive defection from APC. Save this comment

This is the résumé of Lukas Yla, a 25-year-old looking for a job in San Francisco. While most résumés are put in a giant stack or rarely read in a cluttered inbox, Yla has changed the game. And the results have been tremendous.

Yla brilliantly designed his résumé inside of a deluxe (and yummy!) box of donuts. Posing as a Postmates delivery man, Yla hand delivers the boxes to recruiters and Tech firms. The box opens to deliciousness but also to Yla's well crafted résumé inside.

Yla noted, "I had 10 interviews so far and I haven't delivered donuts to all the companies I admire and love what they're doing yet"

Recruiters, marketing pros and people in general love this kind of approach, it's something you didn't expect, fun and out of the box."

His tasty idea to set himself apart came after experiencing the fierce competition for tech and marketing jobs in San Francisco.

"I was looking for the most direct way to reach decision makers at the companies. I thought, that I might fail competing only on 'resume' level with other candidates that have work experience in San Francisco." He said.

What do you think of this approach? Do you think this approach can work in Nigeria?

What does the Independence Day, 1st October, mean to you?

For Common Wealth Of Zion Assembly (COZA) members in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, it was a day to reach out to the less privileged in a community in Rivers State. People who are sick but cannot access the high cost of medical care, people who are hungry but cannot buy food, people who are naked but cannot buy clothes.

Food, Clothes, Medicines were shared among other things too numerous to mention. Souls were also won for Christ. Many cultists surrendered their arms too.
This is in celebration of Nigeria at 58. Together we can build a better nation.

Health / Re: Health Benefits Of Titus Fish by Nwaohafia1: 2:37pm On Sep 01, 2018
Lazyreporta:
Oily fish is rich in omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, which have been shown to reduce inflammation and potentially lower the risk of heart disease, cancer, and arthritis. Both white and oily fish are good sources of lean protein. White fish contains fatty acids, but only in the liver, and in smaller quantities.

Cardiovascular disease
Consuming oily fish can help protect against cardiovascular disease, according to the AHA. A study published by the American Physiological Society suggests that fatty fish oils can also protect the heart during times of mental stress.

Rheumatoid arthritis
A study published in the Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases journal linked an average daily intake of at least 0.21 grams (or 210 milligrams) a day of omega-3 with a 52 percent lower risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Other research suggests that omega-3 fatty acids might protect against the future development of RA.

Dementia
Among people who abuse alcohol, fish oil may offer protection from dementia. Brain cells that were exposed to a mix of fish oil and alcohol had 95 percent less neuroinflammation and neuronal death compared with brain cells that were only exposed to alcohol.

Mouth and skin cancers
Oily fish consumption may protect against early- and late-stage oral and skin cancers. Omega-3 fatty acid has been found to target and selectively inhibit the growth of malignant and pre-malignant cells at doses that do not affect the normal cells.

Sensory, cognitive, and motor development
Consuming oily fish during the last months of pregnancy can have positive effects on a child’s sensory, cognitive, and motor development, research suggests. The same study did not find that breast-feeding offered the same benefits.

Asthma
The children of women who regularly consumed salmon during pregnancy may be less likely to show signs of asthma at the age of 2.5.

Protecting vision and memory
DHA can protect against vision loss. Scientists have identified a linkbetween oily fish consumption and a lower risk of vision loss in older people. A study published in PLOS One indicates that eating oily fish may improve working memory.

Breast and prostate cancer
One meta-analysis of nearly 900,000 women has linked a higher consumption of oily fish with a lower risk of breast cancer. However, another team found that men with high quantities of omega-3 oil in the their blood had a higher risk of prostate cancer.

Politics / Re: Sowore Rejects PACT Result After Fela Durotoye Emerged As Consensus Candidate by Nwaohafia1: 7:07am On Aug 31, 2018
misano:
Presidential aspirant, Omoyele Sowore has rejected the PACT result after Fela Durotoye emerged as consensus candidate.
According to the Sowore’s campaign organization, the party never participated in the straw poll.

Durotoye who was part of PACT (Presidential Aspirants Coming Together), emerged as the consensus candidate at the party’s meeting on Thursday, beating the likes of former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Deputy Governor Kingsley Moghalu and Omoyele Sowore, publisher of Sahara Reporters.

Sowore who should by virtue of the result withdraw his candidacy and support Durotoye said in a statement that he was not part of the selection process.

“On Thursday, the Presidential Aspirants Coming Together (PACT) selected a Consensus Candidate from amongst the aspirants who participated in the straw poll. The TakeItBack Movement and our convener, Omoyele Sowore, were not part of this action,” the statement read.

In the statement signed by Dr Malcolm Fabiyi, the Director General Sowore2019 Campaign, it said: “Our position at the TakeItBack Movement has always been that a United Front of progressive forces is essential for wresting power from the status quo politicians. We believe that our voices are stronger together. As we’ve stated previously, the successful cooperative struggle which several youth presidential aspirants participated in, to extend the voter registration exercise, clearly demonstrates the power of a United Front.

“However, we have also been very clear in our position, that the choice of who becomes the leader of almost 200 million Nigerians should not be determined by only about a dozen people, in a nation of 180 million persons. As democrats and progressives, we believe that leaders should emerge, only through a transparent process that allows the millions of Nigerians that are yearning for national development and transformative leadership, to have their say in electing their own representatives, in free and fair party primaries and eventually at the national polls in February 2019.

“Our unwavering commitment is to a fair and transparent democratic process that includes party primaries and coalition building. As all the political parties stage their legislative, gubernatorial and presidential primaries between now and October 7th, 2018, we enjoin all Nigerians who desire national transformation to participate actively in the political process by joining political parties or competing for elective positions.

“For those seeking a political platform that stands solidly with the Nigerian people and is not aligned with either of the twin evils – the APC and PDP – that have ravaged Nigeria for decades, we invite you to join us in the African Action Congress.

“The democratic process is about more than just the presidency; it is our aim to fill elected offices across Nigeria, from councillorship to the Presidency, with young men and women who are tired of the status quo and are truly primed to reclaim Nigeria.

“We have heavily subsidised our nomination form fees to give brilliant and progressive minds across the country a chance to make their mark on Nigeria. Our complete fee exemptions for the disabled, youth corpers, honourably-discharged defence personnel and serving or retired teachers, nurses and emergency service workers, prove that we are committed to building a greater Nigeria.

“The TakeItBack Movement and the African Action Congress party are committed to creating a Nigeria that works for all, not a select few. We thank all the millions of Nigerians that have supported our campaign for transformation thus far.

“The road ahead of us remains a long and arduous one. With your continuing support, we will remain steadfast in demanding a fair and equitable nation, that works for all Nigerians.

“Onward together! Let’s TakeItBack with action and determination!!”

Foreign Affairs / Re: Court Orders Trump To Unblock Critics On Twitter by Nwaohafia1: 10:40am On Aug 30, 2018
goldcoinhub:
A court ruling on Wednesday has ordered President Donald Trump to unblock critics on Twitter with the claim that he can’t shut out opposing viewpoints.

A federal district court judge in May ruled that blocking people from the president’s @realDonaldTrump account violated First Amendment free speech rights in a case brought by The Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University.he seven people named in the suit were unblocked as the decision was appealed.

The institute tweeted on Wednesday that it had gotten word that many people on a list of 41 more Twitter users it had given to the Department of Justice had also been unblocked by @realDonaldTrump.

“We’re pleased to see the White House take steps to comply with the district court’s ruling that the First Amendment prohibits the president from blocking Twitter users simply because they have criticized him,” the institute said.

“However, we continue to receive reports that individuals beyond those we identified remain blocked from the @realDonaldTrump account.”

The institute argued that it was incumbent on the White House to immediately unblock any Twitter users shut off from the president’s account because of political viewpoints.

The Justice Department in June vowed to appeal the ruling, which the institute expressed confidence in defending.
