Jobs/VacanciesBeware Of Fake Nscdc Recruitment Sites by nyabingi(op): 4:53pm On Mar 03, 2013
Hi guys, I was flipping through the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps when i found this press release:

Recently there have been reports on employment racketeering in the Corps. Worried by this allegation, the anti-graft section of the Corps intensified more efforts in unveiling those behind the shady business. However, it was discovered that, it is an attempt by mischief makers to dent the image of the Corps as they have done it successfully to other agencies without been challenged. Due to the fact that the Corps as one of its policy thrust is to ensure transparency, credibility, equity, justice and fairness in all her exercise especially by involving other security agencies such as EFCC, ICPC, Police Armed Forces, NGO, Transparency and Monitoring organization amongst others to monitor her recruitment process in line with the Federal Character Principle.

It is on the basis of these that the Corps decided to partner and work hand-in-hand with the EFCC and ICPC to clamp down on fraudsters who are internet scammers and impersonators defrauding applicants of their hard earned money.

The Corps dragnet in tracking down fraudsters using her name to defraud applicants however yielded positive result as luck ran out of a three (3) man syndicate who impersonated the Commandant General’s aides claiming to be staff of the Corps.

The gang comprises of one Mr. Wilfred Ahatuamen who is the principal suspect and claimed to be an aide to the Commandant General with one Miss Grace Benedict, his girl friend who also claimed to be the Commandant General’s Secretary alongside Ikechukwu John who is one of the accomplices.

The said group collected the sum of N280,000.00 from one Mr. Bojor Bobori under false pretense that they were going to offer him job into the Corps and he is to pay the balance of N20,000.00 when the appointment letter is issued to him.

The corps wishes to express that the said persons have been interrogated and will be handed over to the EFCC for further interrogation and prosecution in order to demonstrate transparency and sincerity to those with contrary views, misconceptions and misguided opinions, who have at one time or the other written against the Corps
credibility with a view to denting her image, that the Corps’ integrity is intact and thus it cannot be traded for any paltry sum in the name of employment.

Also to prove to government and the entire citizenry that the Corps has never and will never be involved in shady deals, the Corps had earlier arrested over 560 suspects out of which 135 suspects have been successfully prosecuted. Therefore these suspects recently arrested marked another breakthrough in the cases of impersonation where the fraudsters paraded themselves as members of the Corps and most especially claiming to be aides to the Commandant General. Meanwhile, they have no relationship whatsoever with the Corps talk less of been aides to the Corps Boss.

It is worthy of note that the handing over of the suspects to sister agencies such as EFCC and ICPC is to assure Nigerians of the Corps incorruptible stance and to prove that if other agencies can assist in prosecuting them, it will prove the Corps sincerity in handling the issue of employment scam within the system.

Several public enlightenment program on Radio, Television and Newspapers have been carried on the Corps recruitment process, yet desperate job seekers still fall prey to the activities of scammers, by this efforts, applicants should note and face reality that the Corps is not in any way recruiting, so, buying of form, applying for recruitment on-line, paying of money to anybody amongst others is completely a waste of scarce resources and it is uncalled for.

The Corps is therefore using this medium to appeal to all patriotic citizens to assist in arresting everyone who specializes in duping fellow Nigerian because of their predicaments in the labour market.

Also, these amongst others are the websites designed for
the purpose of this nefarious act –
www.nscdc.wapka.mobi, www.federaljob.com
www.ministryofinteriorrecruitment.com;
prince omotosho among others.

So far 20 persons connected to internet fraud have been arrested and prosecuted.

Applicants and the general public should take note as the Corps will not take it lightly with anyone caught denting her image and shall not be responsible to those who refuse to yield to the warnings and fall prey to the act and cry foul thereafter.

THE QUESTIONS IS WHY DOES THE NORTH HATE IGBO PEOPLE SO MUCH MOST OF YOU MAY ADD SENTIMENT TO THIS, BUT AN AVERAGE IGBO PERSON IS BASICALLY ON HIS OWN WITHOUT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT'S HELP WHILE REVERSE IS THE CASE IN THE NORTH, YOU'D OFTEN SEE A LONG STRETCH OF TARRED ROADS WITH FEWER VEHICLE PLYING ON THEM IN THE NORTH WHILE EROSION HAD EATEN THE BETTER PARTS OF ALL MAJOR ROADS AND POT HOLES BEING THE ORDER OF THE DAY IN THE EAST, WHY DO YOU THINK THEY KEPT PLAYING POLITICS WITH THE SECOND NIGER BRIDGE EVEN AS THE ONLY BRIDGE LINKING THE SOUTH EAST TO THE REST OF THE REGION IS ON THE VERGE OF COLLAPSE. THE MOTIVATION THAT KEEPS THE IGBOS GOING DESPITE ALL THESE IS THEIR ENTERPRISING NATURE AND THE FACT THAT THEY ALWAYS PROSPER NO MATTER WHAT, TAKE AN IGBO MAN TO THE DESERT, HE'D STILL SURVIVE AND MAKE MONEY THERE BUT IF ANY OTHER TRIBE TRIES THEY FAIL,I BELIEVE THEREIN LIES THE GENESIS OF HATRED THE NORTH AND SOME SECTION OF THE WEST HAVE TOWARDS THE IGBO RACE--IF YOU ARE A SOUTH EASTERNER WHO HAD LIVED IN THE NORTH YOU WOULDN'T BE CRITICIZING THE OP'S WRITE-UPS ON THIS SUBJECT MATTER!

Music/RadioRe: Lindsay...brown Ep..(this Is A Complete Asa Replacement) by nyabingi(m): 5:29pm On Feb 20, 2013
In the history of human endeavors Music inclusive, no body has been able to replace somebody either by doing same thing as the other did no matter how hard they try, we are all uniquely made by God almighty. I love listening to Bob Marley's music and since his death I have been among those still waiting for at least one reggae act that will sing like him, most of us in the reggae community though that his children Ziggy, Stephen, Damian or Rohan may give us that little kinkky feelin' we get when listening to Bob sing but were actually dissapointed, why because these individuals though fathered and nurtured by the late singers are also unique in themselves. Ziggy sings well so also his brothers non can fit in the shoes of the great legend.

the same also goes out Baba Fela, Art Alade etc, their children can never replace them. I say this because of the subject matter here, the musician in question may tend to sing like Asa but when you place both of them on stage you will know that they are different, its always good for individual musicians to come up with their own unique style in music by so doing they will stand the test of time...Tuface, Sound Sultan, Faze, Ik dairo, Art Alade, Mode9, Lord of Ajasa, Nigga Raw, all have their styles and this is what makes them tick!!!

PoliticsIs It Now Ihejirika’s Turn? – By John Okiyi Kalu by nyabingi(op): 8:15am On Feb 03, 2013
There is this piece circulating online on army promotions under General Ihejirika. The author, apparently sponsored by faceless failures, alleged that Ihejirika was promoting his Igbo brothers over Northerners to achieve an “Igbo agenda”.

Here is what I know.

Unlike other past Army Chiefs, Ihejirika insisted on competence and merit as a basis for promotion to very senior positions in the Nigerian Army. To give teeth to that policy and engender competence and professionalism, he invited an external body to administer promotion examination for those within the relevant cadres.

If Igbo or Yoruba man passed that exam and the author’s sponsors fail to make it, should we promote the “olodos” and sacrifice competence and professionalism? All the while “federal character” and “we we” were used as basis to promote all manner of misfits in the army, how did Nigeria benefit? Apart from coup plotting induced pot bellies and class looting of the nation, what did we gain from past promotions?

Let the author of that vile piece summon the courage to publish all promotions made in the Army from 1979 to date. It will help the whole world see why everything is wrong with Nigeria. Don’t forget that even out of power, militicians replaced themselves with their civilian minions made up of slightly more incompetent people at all levels. Even then they still find themselves retiring and contesting elections to continue the suffocation of Nigeria to death. To them, merit is “haram”.

For Christ sake people should also stop insulting our sensibilities by flaunting fake population figures in public discussions. We are not in the dark ages and anyone who cares to know the truth about Nigeria’s population should simply go to google earth and see how many buildings are there from Abuja to Sokoto. Even the British have long accepted complicity in this census fraud. I challenge any living Nigerian to swear that those figures we bandy about as census figures truly represent Nigeria’s population distribution. If you lie let your story be Nigeria’s story. Great potentials but negative growth for 52 years.

Let it be known that any system that is based on merit will favor the Igbo man and competence driven Nigerians, naturally. If the rest of the country is not ready for merit based progress let them reconsider keeping Igbos in Nigeria. It is wrong to force them to remain in Nigeria while living in mortal fear of them. Like I’ve said severally, a key reason Nigeria is not moving forward remains her fear of the Igbo man. That mind set have led to a situation where every single national system must have a viral program that says “keep Igbos down”. A country committed to keeping one section down will remain down to keep that section down. It is better to seat down and tell them to go and form their own country so that those who choose to remain will progress (or retrogress) without Igbophobia.

Even our national football team is now a victim of this “I love, I no love” attitude towards Igbos. One so called activist recently posted thrash on how the match allowance paid to the national ogbono team mean enriching the Igbo nation. The emergency activist forgot that the glorious USA 94 team was also an “Igbo team”. With the exception of Yekini and 2 others,, the rest of those who made up the first team were of Igbo Origin. I can tell anyone without fear of contradiction that the team excelled because Westerhoff made his team selection based on merit. All the coaches after him were forced to operate under the “national agenda”.

Not long ago, we saw similar propaganda being circulated against the former head of immigration. She was sacked two weeks ago. It was also deployed against Barth Nnaji and he lost out. Such propaganda is hardly deployed against the locust and cankerworm of the Nigerian nation. They can steal N37b police pension money and get 2 years with option of N750k fine. Billions of new naira notes can disappear at CBN and nobody will talk about the CBN governor but EFCC will look for Soludo over N750m contract awarded by Obasanjo.

Sincerely, if Nigeria is not ready for merit based growth and development, let’s sit down and talk. Lord Luggard’s 100 years expires next year, 2014. If because of hypocrisy we cannot shake hands and say “you are still my brother no matter your new republic” let us agree a regional government where each region pursues the type of development suited to it. While some might choose the Sharia model, others will be free to pursue Awolowo style development socialism or apply the American Capitalist model based on merit and competence. If one region is making progress others will copy or at least visit that region to borrow wisdom. Who knows, after AD 2140, our great grand children might decide to come together and propagate and pursue merit as a basis for reward, promotion and appointments..

God forbid that my children will belong to a country where merit and competence are punished.

Make una respect una self with Ihejirika. To avoid “in those days when Igbos were here” called from:http://247ureports.com

CelebritiesKing Sunny Ade Opens-up About Ex-guitarist Caught With Cocaine by nyabingi(op): 11:15am On Jan 14, 2013
Some days ago there was news about a certain ex band member of King Sunny Ade who was apprehended with drugs at the Airport. Nairalanders contributed so much on that topic that it got to an extent where some even accused the king of knowing something about the trade
but there is an update from the King himself!!!

King Sunny Ade's ex-guitarist, 62year old Fatoke Abiodun (left) was arrested on Tuesday January 1 2013 at MMIA with 1.575kg of cocaine as he attempted to leave Nigeria. Fatoke said he turned to drugs after he was unceremoniously retired in 2007 without severance pay after playing with KSA for 30 years.

King Sunny Ade has finally reacted, saying his former guitarist was not a member of staff of his company but just a member of his band, who was not entitled to a severance pay.

KSA speaking to the PUNCH said, “I pay salaries to the members of staff of my company. As for my band members, we share money based on what we make at every show where we perform. I would first of all, remove the money for taxes, equipment we used and other stuff connected to the performance. Thereafter, the remaining money is shared among all of us. Before now, I advised my band members that we should have a common purse, where we should leave money for welfare. But they refused and insisted that everything should be shared.

“If he and the others had agreed to my advice then, he wouldn’t have had any reason to say he didn’t get any severance allowance,”

On why he retired Abiodun, KSA says he changes his band members every three years in order to be current and follow the trend.

“But he worked for me for 30 years. Those who have even worked for me for two years are so well off now. How can he say he didn’t have anything after 30 years? Are those there now complaining?
“And to set the records straight, I didn’t sack him, he left on his own. We came back from an international show and he told me he wanted to start his own band and said I should assist him.
“Before I knew what was happening, he went to Ibadan with my guitar without my knowledge in order to start his own band. I told him to return my guitar and when he didn’t, I had to involve the police. That was how he left,” KSA added.
He said he had not seen Abiodun since he left his band in 2007.

“Anybody who is involved in any crime has it in him. It is not proper for anybody to say that it was a condition that led him to a crime. He was among those in the high category in my band. It is surprising that he claimed he had nothing. I have never seen or heard from him since he left my band.

“In the 30 years he worked for me, he never exhibited such criminal attitude. I am always concerned about the people traveling with me. I make sure we all travel light and get whatever we need for the performance in the country we are going.

“I have never seen cocaine. I don’t smoke, I don’t drink and we are always checked thoroughly at the airport here and at the airport over there,” he said.

With the way the story goes its obvious that this baba was not doing his first shipment and secondly he must have learnt the trade from his former boss. The king and his band boys just like other prominent yoruba musicians like kwam1, Sir Shina Peters,Adewale Ayuba etc are usually given VIP treatments at the nation's airport, they are not searched rigorously like any other travelers. the truth remains that many of our so-called respected musicians are drug peddlers but i know that a lot of people here would not agree with me. there is a lot that happens in the entertainment industry that we don't know about!

The point remains that most people who say they are Roman Catholics never really take time to check on the church history, it all rides on the asumptions that Peter started the church where as it was all fasle cos the catholic church was actually instituted by the roman empire to checkmate the spread of the gospel which was viewed as threat to the roman conquests, that is why till today thepapalcy remains more of poluitical position than religion, the popes are elected and one must gains some level of Roman state loyalty to be considered for such!

Truth be told Igbos have suffered more injustices than any tribe in Nigeria and my Nairaland friends would agree with me that even till tomorrow the an average Igbo man remains a threat to an average Hausa or Yoruba man why this is so I cant really fathom but I know it got something to do with what Achebe has lined out in his book!
