Our correspondent gathered that the passengers were coming into Oyo State from Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State when the bus conveying them was waylaid and forced to stop by the hoodlums. The incident was said to have happened on Thursday morning between Igboora and Eruwa Road. Although residents of the area could not ascertain the actual number of those in the bus, all the occupants were said to have been been whisked away by the gunmen. The Secretary Farmers Union in Ibarapa, Taiwo Adeagbo, told our correspondent that the incident happened on Thursday morning. He said, “The bus is still beside the road there between Eruwa and Igboora. I have told the police, I told our senator and others. I am saddened by these happenings.” The Convener of Igangan Development Advocates, Oladiran Oladokun, also confirmed the development. The Police Public Relations Officer in Oyo State Command, Adewale Osifeso, could not be reached as at the time of filing this report. Ibarapaland has been in the news of late over incessant attacks by criminals suspected to be herdsmen.

Ohanaeze further warned that if the purported move by Miyetti Allah is not quelled, it may spell doom to Nigeria. The highest Igbo organization in a statement by its Secretary General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro and issued to DAILY POST on Monday night, emphasized that securing lives and property of the citizenry solely lies in the hands of State Governors and the President, vowing that Ndigbo would resist such attempt to deploy any Fulani security group to man nooks and crannies of Igbo land. Ohanaeze Ndigbo cautioned Miyetti Allah not to taste the venom and wrath of the Igbos with the increasing attacks on innocent Igbos by its killer herders. “We have accommodated them, living with them peacefully, but we will resist any attempt to deploy any Fulani security group in the east,” he said. The group further used the medium to condemn in strong terms the burning down of security formations in Uzuakoli, Bende local government area of Abia State. The spokesperson to the NAF, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet disclosed this in a short statement on Wednesday night. According to the statement, the aircraft was supporting troops at one of the Theatres of Operation in the Northern part of the country. “A NAF aircraft on routine mission in support of own troops at one of the Theatres of Operation in the Northern part of Nigeria has lost radar contact. Efforts are currently ongoing to locate its where about. Details to follow,” he said in a tweet. More details are however yet to be provided since the incident. The Armed Forces of Nigeria have numerous Theatres of Operation combating Boko Haram terrorists in the northeast region. The missing plane incident happens just weeks after a NAF Beechcraft KingAir B350i aircraft crashed on Sunday, February 21 in Abuja. The aircraft crashed while returning to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport after reporting engine failure en route Minna. All seven of the NAF personnel on board the aircraft died. The NAF personnel who died in that crash were: Haruna Gadzama, Henry Piyo, Micheal Okpara, Bassey Etim, Olasunkanmi Olawumi, Ugochukwu Oluka and Adewale Johnson.
