The question that keeps popping in my head is we are saying competition is good and should bring down prices. So this means when you are competing there should be a benchmark which should be a minimum standard. What is the sulfur content of the fuel being imported into Nigeria? At least it was in the News when Dangote queried NMDPRA if they had Labs where they test the PMS being imported. In advanced countries the quality of fuel determines how much it is sold so you can have Gold, Super and standard as an example. What is being imported as PMS for now is only accompanied by certificate of Quality from Refineries which are mostly doctored. The only way competition can be fair at least a little even if we are to import is if the regulator can test and price the fuels appropriately not the kind of scam the importers are practicing. This kills engines of most Nigerian cars faster than any other thing. The other upside I see with Dangote refinery is the effect on forex which is good. He has tried to Lower fuel prices and I wonder why Labour Unions cannot also challenge the sellers that are still adamant on lowering the prices. Everything has just been quiet or is it only the Government they are suppose to challenge? Before the other refineries come online the regulators should put their house in order. Everything should not be always be about profit to the detriment of the consumers. This is my my 2 cents! |
Wow...highly enlightening. We should just stick to our Dstv bouquets. Dstv must be given qudos then... they have been in this business for a while. I remember applying for a freeze in December 2023 and it was done and restored as instructed. I was routing for pay per view too...bit now I know better...especially if you have a family with kids |

Depends on where the other job is located...most of the North aside the flash points is still safe. |
Goke7:Go and complain on the twitter handle if you are on aedc. They claimed the reversal was done in the early hours of Oct 1. Please has anyone bought units at the old rates on aedc today? |
brownemmanuel43:Why not upload to Google drive and send the link. Please send me a link to nylawal1@gmail.com . Thanks! |
thatigboman:Please, why not do simple Google search. There is Nin for minors https://www.nimc.gov.ng/how-to-enrol-minors/. We should always look at the brighter side... there maybe a lot of challenges but this is how to get our country among the developed countries of the world. We already have a lot of exam cheats as leaders. Do you think these guys will not help their own children too cheat the system. There was a time Nimc was practically begging people to go and register, now that it has become a requirement they have to up their game! |
PassingShot:You are quite on point. The government had announced that no more importation of rice through the land borders, so if you have taken loans to still indulge in it, you only have yourself to blame!!The ban on rice import [b][b/]through the land borders was announced over 2 years ago so what notice are you giving to the smugglers again. These rice importers can buy Nigerian rice in paddy form and get it processed in the process making a lot of money, but no you went the illegal route!!! Check out most of the products trapped most of them are on the ban list or forex ban list!!! I hope Nigeria as a whole will learn to look inwards and invest in Nigeria. |

snowblaq:Toyota Matrix 2003-2007 basically has the same engine and suspension with the regular Corolla of the same range. The fuel economy is very good just like the corolla. My wife uses a matrix and I believe it's a car that in cheap to maintain and good after sales value. You can by one with a high clearance rather than the sport with spoilers. Pls never you try to adjust the leg Springs it's always the bane of poor fuel economy and other issues. |

Hello, Please my Tech Camon CxO had water splashed on it while at the pool. The phone just started rebooting severally until the battery eventually died. Pls what can I do to resolve this.. and if I can't do it at home, where is the Carl care service centre in Kaduna. Thanks! |
Na wa o! What is the morale of this story? Very sick story for the twisted mind. Fiction or not, our society is already a sick one, use your skills for better things please. |
All this noise sef! Who has been able to buy the decoder. Why rush to launch when u guys are not ready for business. Who don buy abeg make we hear word!!! |
These idiots in the Senate.... hmmm hope say no be dem import am for the upcoming elections. I won't be surprised. Saraki has no power to order anything. Anytime the Senate gets excited in matters like this, it looks suspect. Only this year his bullet proof car was seized, there's no smoke without fire. They should put serial numbers on the pump action guns and give them to Prisons. And the importer should not be fined at all, he needs to be jailed. |
I concur with the last poster why not finish your BSc Mech. Engr and then go for a masters in physics. Have you heard of reciprocity, Pls Google it. When you need to apply with your Cv, the question might keep cropping up. By the way you didn't state the Uni. You are studying currently that is making you contemplate on this adventure. Goodluck! |
I was looking for a place to buy 5w30 lubricants and I stumbled on a thread on nairaland that referred me to autoselect (Google the name). I discovered the sell quality after sales parts from world renowned manufacturers. From them I also got to know some big distributors from whom I get oem parts in Abuja. As for tokunbo, I know guys in the UK who butcher cars for parts because it can ship 3 to 4 butchered cars in a container rather than 2 whole cars. I think they say the profit is higher. The cars are not always accident ed or worn out, sometimes just got a good bargain or they pay less duties on parts. I guess for something like car headlight bulbs I will always go for tokunbo. I have used one for almost 2 years now. |
Hello house, I just stumbled on this thread and wow it is really educative. I want to venture into fish farming and I want to use Benuwats trampauline for 2 4,000lt tanks in Abuja. The area I stay has pipe Bourne water, is this ok for fish farming because almost everyone has been talking of borehole water. I also hope to start with 1,000 juveniles of catfish and would like to know the quantity of feed required till they reach table size. I have been reading some ebooks and visited a farm but I would be grateful if the poster (who appears to have a lot of hands on experience) to help out. Especially the consumption rate for 1000 juves so I will know what to prepare my budget. Thanks! |
Blue3k:Very interesting aguement you guys are putting forward. I implore you that when you want to put up data to make a point you can use that of a 5 year period to show a trend. it amuses me when you say agriculture contribution isn't significant, do you know the quantity of processed food we import? Rather than just looking at NBS incomplete data, do you know how many people are employed in the processed food value chain? We export cocoa and import chocolate, do you know we are employing foreigners and empowering them? Do you know how much Malaysia makes from palm oil? Even I learnt they got the seedlings from Nigeria in the 80s or 90s. Just take a stroll to shoprite one of the biggest retail stores in Nigeria. You will be amazed how many processed foods from South Africa they sell. Funny enough, from potato chips, tomato paste, fresh tomato, and lots of food readily available in Nigeria are imported from South Africa. Just a few of teasers. Do not forget the whole railway infrastructure and roads the British built in Nigeria was from agriculture and it was built for the purpose of evacuating agricultural products to lagos to be shipped off to Britain. Cheers! |
@agu12000 interesting pie you wrote up there. More ink in your pen. Now that the naira value has dropped now is the best time to invest in Nigeria... before u eventually take the step of moving back! |
@Kiekie sorry I saw this very late. The ac is still working at maximum efficiency. I recommended it to 2 people that bought early this year (no complaints) but it's now costly because of the dollar issue. I think 1.5hp now goes for 140k plus. You can get it at any LG accredited dealership. Pls make sure you us their technicians for installation because the tools re different from that of d regular ac. This is to prevent damages and leakage because the gas I'm told is different too. Cheers! |
Nigeria is the better for it. This is the best way to get out of recession. What the state and Federal Government should do now is to build a value chain by encouraging other part manufacturers to spring up. Brake pads, shock absorbers, tires, radiators, shafts etc can be manufactured to ivm specs so that the standard will be very high. He can go ahead and manufacture the engines here too and hopefully he will start getting the the raw materials locally, I'm sure that was why the vice president went to visit the plant some days ago. I hope Enugu and Fg would support this man with electricity so that the value chains mentioned above can be located near his plant. Kudos to IVM! |
Nice job you are doing but please as much as we want to promote made in Nigeria you need to improve on your packaging. If only you would get a curvy plastic cover for your front panel. If you can package your product at international standard what makes you think you have to sell your product cheaper than the foreign ones. I used to run a cafe like 10 years ago and this your inverter looked like one of the local ones patronized back then. Asides that you can sell your products and be rated by third parties. Cheers |
I hope this thread can be revived. I want to know what is happening to those dollar collecting schools I 2016 ending. |
I wasn't even aware of this 6gb plan. I just walked into an airtel office to buy a sim for my wife, incidentally my bis just expired, so I asked d lady to load bis for me too. Surprisingly I saw bis unlimited 1 + 1 subscription. I had to ask the lady if it was a promo. She didn't seem to know sef. Afterwards i went online to find out and from different forums I found out one had to dial a code to check for eligibility. After dialing the code it says I'm not eligible. Here I am rocking the 1,500 for 6gb plan courtesy of the guys at the airtel office. I tell you I joined this network for data since 2012, then on a promo for pay for 2 months and get 3 months subscription. From where I live in Abuja, it's been great ever since. Their data coverage of major cities and highways is awesome! |
delishpot:what I mean is that hospitals are meant to be baby friendly. What would be the level of productivity of a nursing mother if her baby is miles away from her. I'm talking of a Doctor here who sometimes have to be on night shift. Some other private organizations are creating baby nursery and crèche in this same country and they get better productive workers. Are you telling me there are no crying children in the hospital always? The world is fast changing and we should know and demand our rights. I stopped my wife from working there, it's a very isolated area where armed robbers can even way lay someone. Even the so called advanced countries are embracing baby friendly work place. Thank you! |
