I'm trying to do that number 3. Using Your Voice to Do Everything Faster, but I didn't get it right. or is it base on the type of android one uses? I use Techno Y4.
You have to tap on the mic icon and say Ok Google do this for me...(for example OK Google call my love or OK Google Play hotline bling by Drake etc) wink

The beauty of technology isn’t just doing more stuff, it’s doing stuff quickly. Whether you want to call a specific contact with one tap, launch the camera in a flash to quickly capture the perfect moment, or search for an app while in a rush, here are some of the best shortcuts built into Android that you’re probably not using.

1. Launch Your Camera Instantly with a Double-Tap of the Power Button
That awkward moment where the perfect shot comes along, but by the time you get your phone out of your pocket, wake it up, unlock it, and launch the camera, that moment is gone. It’s a bummer, and all you end up with is a terrible picture that was taken too late and just reminds you of the moment you missed.

Well the good news is that it doesn’t have to be this way. If you’re running a modern Android phone with Marshmallow (Android 6.0), then you can launch the camera instantly by tapping the power button twice while the phone is asleep (it’s the home button on Samsung Galaxy phones). Seriously—go ahead and try it. On a few select phones, this shortcut may be different.

It should only take a split second to have the camera ready to go with this super useful little shortcut.

2. Call or Text With One Tap Using Contact Widgets
I believe we all have people that we call or text more often than others, and there’s no easier way to keep those quick calls or texts to one tap than with the Contact Direct widgets. These are essentially 1×1 icons on your home screen that immediately call or text a specific contact with one tap.

To drop one of these icons on your home screen, just jump into your device’s widgets menu by long-pressing the home screen and tapping the “Widgets” icon. Scroll until you find the “Contacts” section, then choose whichever one you want to use: Direct dial 1×1 or Direct message 1×1. Long-press it then, drop it on the home screen. From there, you’ll select the contact you want to associate the widget with, and that’s it.

3. Using Your Voice to Do Everything Faster

This is the most useful one, but most people overlooked this feature on their phone. With Google Now, you can do anything capable of, and all you need to do is say “OK Google”. It may feel weird talking to your phone at first, but when you realize how blazingly fast it is for certain tasks, you’ll never go back.

Before you do that, however, you’ll need to enable “OK Google detection” from any screen. To do that, jump into the Google Now app by either swiping up on the home button or long-pressing it (depending on your version of Android), heading into the menu, and choosing “Settings.” From there, select “Voice,” then “’OK Google’ detection.” You can toggle the “From any screen” setting here, and it will prompt you to set up a voice model if you haven’t already. Now you can call on Google Now from any screen.

Once Google Now is listening to what you’re saying, you can ask it a huge variety of questions, such as (but not limited to):

When does X business close?

How tall is person?

How many quarts are in a gallon?

What is five percent of 99?

What’s the weather going to be like this weekend?

When is holiday?

When is the next sports team game?

What song is this? (with music playing in the background)

What time is it in other place?

And so much more. But again, that’s not all. You can also set reminders, send texts, or create appointments:

Text friend “how about lunch tomorrow?”

Remind me to do thing tomorrow at 11 AM.

Set a timer for X minutes.

Navigate to place of interest.

Call person or business.

Listen to Artist on Google Play Music.

Create a calendar event: name, date, and time.

Seriously—the more you use it, the more you’ll learn to do with it.

4.Use Quick Responses to Let Callers Know Why You Can’t Answer
This feature has actually been around since, though I’m not sure many people realize it still exists. Basically, it offers a quick way of letting someone know why you can’t answer the phone by sending them a quick text—all you have to do is swipe up on the incoming call screen and choose what text you want to send. There are a few pre-set selections, like “Can’t talk right now. What’s up?” and “I’ll call you right back,” but the best part is that you can actually customize these on most Android phones.

In stock Marshmallow, just jump into the dialer and tap the three-button overflow menu in the top right corner. Select “Settings,” then “Quick responses.” There you go—edit away.

On stock Lollipop (5.0+) phones, the process is basically the same, but in the dialer’s Settings menu, tap “General,” then “Quick responses” at the very bottom.

These features may be hidden in different spots—some of which make sense, and others that do not. For example, on Samsung’s newest software builds, you can find Quick Responses in the More > Settings > Call blocking > Call-reject messages. Yeah, it’s pretty deep.

Keep in mind that it may or may not be labeled as “Quick responses,” but the option will almost certainly be found in in the dialer app.

5. Quickly Search for Any App

For those of you that have a lot of apps installed, sometimes it’s easier to just search for what you’re looking for than it is to scroll through a stupid-long list of stuff. Fortunately, Google baked a way into the Google Now Launcher—which is the stock launcher on Nexus devices, but also available for download from Google Play for all others—to quickly get access to the app drawer’s search tool.

From the home screen, just long-press the app drawer icon. That’s it! The drawer will immediately open with the “Search Apps…” bar open and the keyboard ready to go. It easily shaves a bit of time off of opening the drawer, then tapping the Search box.

These are the most useful shortcuts to improve your overall experience, I hope you’ll find them useful and please share with others.

PhonesHere Are 7 Tips You Need For Staying Safe Online by nze4al(op):
World Password Day has come and gone, the annual global push for better password security. Today millions of us are still using absolutely awful passwords like names, birth dates, phone numbers, and easily guessable words . It doesn’t have to be that way. Passwords should be something that would be very difficult to break. Often a strong password has between six and ten characters (the more the better), numbers, other characters, and both upper and lowercase characters.

Password has become an integral part of our lives. Yet, so often do we hear that so and so’s account got hacked. This is because most people make the most stupid mistakes while setting their passwords.

Now we’re going to go over the most common password mistakes you can make, so you’ll know what not to do. I’ll also share some easy ways of creating a strong password and what makes a password an authentic one.

1. Using short password

Using a password that is less than six-characters is as bad as having no password at all. When you’re making new passwords, eight characters should be the absolute minimum, and 10 to 12 characters is recommended. For super important accounts, such as your banking account, a 14- to 16-character password isn’t a bad idea too. Always try to make your password long.

2. Too simple/easy to guess password

Not only using a long password, also try not use something that is easily guessable. Even a 12-character password isn’t going to do much good if it’s something as simple as “123456789012” or “abcdefghijkl.” Hackers check for things like that right away.

Even a common phrase like “maytheforcebewithyou” is something hackers look for right off the bat. They have dictionaries with millions of the most common passwords and variations, and they can crack these simple ones using home computers in minutes or even seconds. In fact, check out the recent list of the most common passwords to make sure you haven’t used any of them

A strong password needs to have a mix of uppercase and lowercase characters, along with numbers and symbols. Your password needs to be virtually random. But instead of just randomly hitting the keys, try a method that makes the password easier to remember. Start by thinking up a random sentence, a catch phrase, quote or even a song lyric like “Tramps like us, baby we were born to run.”

3. Using one password for multiple accounts

As passwords get longer and more complex, it’s tempting to use the same password for every account so you have to remember only one. Unfortunately, if you do this and hackers get hold of your password for one account, say in a data breach, they can log in to all your accounts.

You need to create unique passwords for every account you have. Of course, that makes it really hard to remember your passwords, which leads to mistake number 4.

4. Writing passwords down for remembrance

Many people create strong, unique passwords and then write them down on sticky notes that they stick on their desk. Some people keep their passwords in a notebook that they leave lying around.

A hacker won’t have much chance of seeing those, but what about snooping family members or friends? What if your house gets robbed and burglars end up with your password notebook? If the burglars are smart enough, they can cause you a lot of trouble.

Instead of writing the passwords in a notebook, get a password manager. This is a program that stores and locks your passwords behind a single master password. You can create dozens of strong, unique passwords and need to remember only one.

Some popular free password managers are KeePass,Kaspersky Password Manager and many more others. Just google their names online and download free.

5. Changing your passwords regularly
You might have heard that you should change your password every six months, three months or even monthly. But I don’t think it’s a good idea you should be doing this.

Regularly changing passwords is annoying, which leads to people making passwords too simple or reusing them. In fact, people who regularly change their passwords make them 46 percent easier to guess. In general, you should change your password only if you think it’s been involved in a data breach or not strong enough.

6. Using Poor security question

During registration of account, most websites have options for recovering a forgotten password, and one of the most common ways to do this is by answering a security question you set up in advance. Unfortunately, most security questions are things a hacker or relative can figure out with little effort, such as your mother’s maiden name or the street where you grew up.

A weak security question can render the strongest password useless. So always use security questions that cannot be guessable.

7. Sharing password with your partner

Me personally I don’t by the idea of sharing password with love ones, it’s too risky! If you’ve been doing this you better stop it now.

Bonus: You should know that many online accounts have a bit of extra security you may not be using. It’s called two-factor authentication, and when it’s turned on, hackers can’t get into your account even if they know your password.

Conclusion
Good password practices aren’t glamorous, but they are very necessary. Don’t be a victim before you change your password to a let another year go by where you find yourself typing the exact same password for both your email login and your bank.

Have you discovered any tips that aren’t on this list? Let us know in the comments and please share with others.

PhonesIf you could only have six apps, which ones would they be? by nze4al(op):
With over 1.5 million apps in the Play Store I bet you’ll never download all, but there are just six apps you could live with. So if you limited yourself to only six apps, which would you choose? Here are the only six apps that matter to my Android experience and I recommend too.

1. For communication: WhatsApp

WhatsApp is one of the most popular apps available on Android and for a good reason. This app is where we communicate. Communication is an essential function of the smartphone.

WhatsApp takes care of all of my communication needs and that’s why I chose it as my one of the only apps I need. I can make calls, send text messages, share photos or even documents. All of this on the platform that nearly all of my friends and family have.

2. For browsing the internet: Google Chrome for Android
With my Google Chrome browsers I can do most of the functions apps do. With a browser I can watch YouTube videos, check my email, post pictures to Facebook, search for anything, navigate and many more. Google Chrome does all these things well, which is why it is essential to my Android experience. Of course, I normally use apps for many of these functions but if I only have five apps I would use my browser for them.

So why did I choose Google Chrome instead of a different browser? Chrome is one of the easiest browsers to use and does all of your the essential functions without a stutter. It has a built-in flash player and PDF reader as well as data saving features.

3. For keeping your phone secure: AVG

Without security, all of these the essential functions I need my smartphone for go out the window. If my phone is hacked I lose everything and my phone is completely useless. And though other apps on this list have security features built-in – like encryption on WhatsApp and security on Chrome for Android – the system itself needs to be protected.

AVG is the most popular security app for a good reason. All of the functions for keeping your phone secure are free and easy-to-use. Scanning and securing your device is quick and your smartphone is kept safe at all times. It just takes an update every once in a while.

4. For typing: SwiftKey Keyboard
Google’s stock Android keyboard has gotten much better over the years, but I don’t feel at home in a device until I have SwiftKey in place. Why? Simple: SwiftKey has the best layout, design, and functionality for my needs. Its next-word prediction knows me almost too well, and its swipe-to-type capability works wonderfully when I want it.

5. News and updates: FeedlyReader

I read a ton of tech news and rely on Feedly to keep up with the many sites I follow. But while Feedly’s Web interface is suitable enough, the company’s own Android app has always left me wanting more.

A third-party app called FeedlyReader fills that void with style and grace. With a clean and attractive Material Design vibe and an impressive array of features like configurable left and right-swipe actions within the story list and tons of opportunities for customization. FeedlyReader has almost everything I’ve ever wanted in an mobile RSS client.

6. For file management: ES File Explorer
ES File Explorer File Manager provides Android users with a fully-featured file manager that gives them complete control over their device’s file system. The File Manager can manage onboard storage and external storage such as microSD cards or USB flash drives.

The software can also be linked to users’ cloud storage accounts, with support for most major services including Dropbox, Box.net, Sugarsync, Google Drive, OneDrive, and more, seamlessly integrating cloud file management with local file management.

If you could only have six apps, which ones would they be? Tell us in the comments.

Phones6 Important Details You Shouldn’t Make Public On Facebook by nze4al(op): 4:04pm On Apr 20, 2016
Facebook is all about connecting and sharing your life with friends, family and other people you know. You can also meet new friends, promotes your business, and do a lot of other fun things with it.

Unfortunately, there are just some things you shouldn’t share or make online to the public. These bits of information can put you in danger of identity theft, losing your account to hackers, losing your job or causing other major life trouble. Here are the top six of your important details I think you shouldn’t share or make them online to the public.

Before we continue, however, this is a good time to remind you that Facebook has a range of privacy controls to limit what certain people can see about you. Follow our simple step-by-step guides to keep strangers and snoops out of your Facebook profile.

1. YOUR PHONE NUMBER
It’s very important to avoid having your phone numbers on your Facebook page. As prank callers, stalkers and even identity thieves can use this information against you to ruin your day.

Not only that, but people who have your phone number, which isn’t hard to find online, can use it to search for you on Facebook.

Although there are times it is good to give your phone number to Facebook, such as turning on two-factor authentication (for extra protection of you account). But if you do give your phone number to Facebook, just make sure to hide it in your profile.

To hide your phone number from the public, just go to Facebook and click on your name at the top of the page. When your profile page loads, click the “About” tab just below your cover image. Go to “Contact and Basic Info” in the left column and next to your phone number click the “Edit” link.

Click the audience selector icon, which will either be a globe or a silhouette of two people and change it to “Only me.” Now no one but you can see your phone number, and it won’t show up in searches.

2. YOUR HOME ADDRESS
It’s only people trying to steal your identity, or rob your house, could take advantage of knowing your home address. So be sure that none of that information is visible anywhere on your Facebook profile.

Just follow the directions in the last section to get into the “Contact and Basic Info” section of your profile information. Look for “Neighborhood,” and if there’s an address there, click the “Edit” link next to it and wipe out the information. Then click “Save Changes.”

3. ANYTHING WORK-RELATED
This is also very important, try not to leave any information on your Facebook that reveals where you work. You don’t just have to worry about identity thieves when it comes to your employment.

If someone from your workplace tries to search for employees on Facebook, then they might find something that they don’t like. Similarly, if a hacker wanted to figure out whom to target if they wanted to break into your workplace’s computers, social media would be their first stop. So be wise and hide all your work related information or if possible delete them.

4. YOUR RELATIONSHIP STATUS
Including your relationship status on your Facebook page just invites awkwardness. Certain relationship statuses are also a draw for cyberstalkers. And don’t forget that scammers out there who specialize in sweetheart scams. They use social media, email and dating sites to create a romantic connection with you and then swindle you out of money. You don’t want them to see that you’re single on Facebook and get ideas.

It’s easier to just remove your relationship status entirely. Let people find out about changes in your relationship naturally and not passively acknowledge your relationship status by “likes” and comments.

5. YOUR BIRTHDATE
Yes, your birthdate it’s also an important details you should hide from the public. When you signed up for Facebook, it asked for your birthdate. This is both to confirm that you’re older than 13, and so Facebook can remind your friends to wish you a happy birthday.

Unfortunately, your birthdate is a piece of information that identity thieves will need if they want to pretend to be you. You don’t want this information publicly available.

In your Facebook profile, click your name at the top. Then beneath your cover photo click “About.” Under “About” in the left column, choose “Contact and Basic Info.” Next to “Birth Date” click the “Edit” icon. Then click the audience selector icons for both day and year and choose “Only Me.” Then click the “Save Changes” button.

6. YOUR PAYMENT INFORMATION
This is the last and most important one. Facebook is free to use, but it still wants your credit card number. Adding your financial information lets you buy gift cards, facebook ads, and other products straight through the website. I normally use this feature to buy the facebook ads. How convenient and helpful!

Of course, one of the best ways to accidentally get your credit card charged for something could be to leave your Facebook profile open on your computer or phone. A small family member or “joking” friend at your home could use it to spend money on something straight through Facebook. You don’t want that to happen, do you?

So prevention is better than cure. To remove it, open your Facebook, click the upside-down triangle in the top right corner and choose “Settings.” In the left column select “Payments,” and then on the right go the “Account Settings” tab. You can see if you have any saved payment information and remove it.

RomanceSmartress, Mattress Detects & Tells When Someone Else Is Having Sex In Your Bed by nze4al(op): 3:36pm On Apr 20, 2016
In order to put an end to disloyalty and infidelity between couples, Spanish matress company called Durmet has come up with this awesome smart mattress that knows when someone else is in your bed. More crucially it can detect sex, that isn’t you, and alert you to the apparent adultery.

The smart mattress, dubbed Smartress, works by using 24 ultrasonic sensors, in conjunction with an algorithm, can detect the frequency and intensity of bouncing on its surface. It can then use its battery powered brain to send a message to the owner.

It’s smart enough to recognise the difference between someone sitting on the bed, say, and the real deal going down. So you shouldn’t get alerts every time the kids jump on the bed or when someone’s sitting in the bedroom.

According to the manufacturer, the mattress was created to deal with the apparently huge “Global Infidelity Crisis” problem of adultery in the Spain and world wild. The company slogan goes: “If your partner isn’t faithful, at least your mattress is.” Check out the video review below.

PhonesHere's The 5 Apps You Should Remove Right Now From Your Smartphone by nze4al(op): 4:49pm On Apr 19, 2016
Smartphones if not taking good care of becomes “dumb phones”. This is all about the unnecessary apps that not only take up storage space, but can also affect your handset’s performance, data, and battery life. Well, enough is enough – it’s time to clean up your smartphone and set it free. Here are five apps I suggest you should remove right now from your smartphone.

1. Battery savers apps
Battery-saving apps are often bunch of rubbish. These apps offer a solution to one of the most-loathed smartphone problems in the world and promise miracles. There are only a few exceptions to the truth that battery-saving apps are merely billboards disguised as useful apps.

If you really want to increase your battery life, you have to reduce energy demand from the operating system and all running services and apps.

To fix this, open your Battery settings. Find the app with the highest consumption in the list and forcing close it. Some app errors can also be resolved this way, which might have caused increased energy demand to begin with.

2. Facebook mobile app
The Facebook mobile app allows you to stay connected to your friends and family at all times. It keeps you updated with every notification on birthdays, comments, likes, pokes, friend requests, messages and many others. Alas, this constant connection to others comes at a cost. The app is not only intrusive, but it consumes a lot of data and battery too.

There are many alternatives you can still use to access your Facebook account, such as creating a facebook shortcut on your homepage. If you head to Facebook in Chrome or any good browser on your smartphone, hit the options button and select Add to Home screen, then you’ve got a quick and convenient way to check Facebook without all the resource-intensive bulk of the official app. This will also require less of your smartphone’s data.

3. So-called antivirus apps
You don’t need an antivirus app if all your downloads are done directly from the app store. For an Android device, the Google Play Store can do everything that antivirus apps can. For theft protection, Android Device Manager works securely without an additional app. And whether an app is actually hiding malware, Google checks with the Play Store automatically.

Antivirus apps are only useful if you are often downloading and installing APK files found outside the Play Store. Then, anti-malware apps can examine these apps during installation and offer warnings before you open them. However, you can’t disinfect your smartphone. The best method to do this is – ironically – without an app.

4. Clean Master or any cleaning app
Most Cleaning apps promise to clean up your phone to boost performance. But there only job is to clear cached data left behind when an application is deleted from the phone. It’s not necessary to download a dedicated cleaner. You can do that yourself, Just go to Settings > Storage > and tap Cached data. At the Clear cached data prompt, hit OK.

Alternatively, you can clear the cache of individual apps by going to Settings > Apps > Downloaded and tapping on an app. On the next page, tap Clear Cache.

Clean Master and similar apps often require a lot of battery power, and their in-app advertising has the potential to suck out your monthly data allowance.

5. Your default browser
There are so many better, faster, less data consumption, and more secure, alternatives to the default internet app (assuming your device doesn’t come with Chrome as the default).

Download your favorite browser from our best Android browsers list and, once your choice is made, go to Settings > Apps and tap the browser that you no longer use. Tap Disable on the following page.

Conclusion
You should consider removing any app you don’t use, seems to cause a particularly big battery drain, or consumes excessive data. You can check which apps have the largest impact on the last two things by going to your battery settings page or data usage page in your Settings menu.

Was this helpful? If it was, please don’t forget to share this wonderful tips with your friends and if you need any help on the above tips let us know in the comments below thanks.

Hi nze4al, please help me with MTN 1GB code please.
I don't know of any reliable third party data reseller now, but you can try this codes.

PhonesWhat’s The Most Important Thing You Consider When Buying A New Smartphone? by nze4al(op):
Think you know what people look for in a new smartphone before or when buying them? Then think again.

So my question is what’s the most important thing you consider when buying a new smartphone? Is it the size? The hardware? The price? The hype? Or the camera? Well a new survey has revealed what people or smartphone buyers look at when making choice or purchasing a new iPhone or Android devices and the results are definitely interesting.

According to British startup OnePulse, about 1,100 men and women aged 16-65 were surveyed and found out the most important factors smartphone buyers consider. The top three include price, brand and battery life. The phone’s design is even ranked fourth, followed by things like storage space, camera, reviews and other accessory available.

This is not the first time, that surveys has place battery life and camera quality squarely at the top of the list, so this is not a surprise.

OnePulse also asked respondents whether they understand certain features that might be advertised when buying a phone. The majority of them know what storage (87%), screen size (81%) and camera (80%) characteristics mean. But only 60% of people understand display pixels, while 53% understand RAM. The processor scores lowest, with 39% of people saying they understand it.

Finally, when asked what company is coming up with the best phones right now, 32% said it’s Apple and of those, 60% are Apple users, while 7% are on Android. But guess which company scored higher: Samsung won the battle with 39% of the votes. Interestingly, 15% of people who said Samsung makes the best phone right now are currently iPhone owners, while 61% are Android users.

What's your opinion on this, and which features do you think is more or less important to consider when buying a new smartphone? For me it's the price and battery oo! cheesy

PhonesIntroducing The New HTC 10: Beautiful Smartphone With World-class Camera by nze4al(op): 7:17pm On Apr 13, 2016
HTC’s latest flagship, the HTC 10, is officially here. The brand new handset brings a redesigned all-metal body, a camera that HTC calls the best in the world, Hi-Res 24-bit audio and a fingerprint scanner. Check out the full details of HTC’s newest flagship, the 10 below.

Starting on the outside, the first difference you see with the new HTC 10 is the chamfered edge all around the back of this dual-textured phone. It is a pleasing design and provides a “constantly changing reflection of colour and contrast,” as the smartphone moves in the light. The HTC 10 is constructed in an aluminium unibody.

Cameras are very important for smartphone users and will often play a large part in someone’s buying decision. HTC has grabbed a world’s first by equipping both front and back cameras with optical image stabilization (OIS) to prevent blurry shots from shaky hands which helps keep your picture quality up and a 12-megapixel “UltraPixel” camera that performs well in low-light situations and features. It also records 4K video.

Audio is traditional strength of HTC. So it offers the world’s first stereo 24-bit Hi-Res audio recording DAC in a smartphone. The new HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi edition speakers feature the same separated tweeter and woofer design as leading acoustic systems, with a dedicated amplifier for each speaker to deliver audio quality unprecedented from a smartphone

It has a great, fast fingerprint sensor that rivals the super-fast TouchID sensor on the iPhone 6s. It’ll work with Google’s mobile payments system Android Pay.

Other important specifications in its latest flagship smartphone include; a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, a 5.2-inch 2560 x 1440 screen with 50 per cent more responsive touch, 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of storage, microSD support up to 2TB, USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C for fast charging and data transfer, a 3.5mm audio jack, capacitive keys, enhanced 4G LTE support (nanoSIM), NFC, DisplayPort, Bluetooth, up to 2 days battery life (3000mAh), QuickCharge 3.0, and sensors such as GPS/Glonass, Ambient light, proximity, motion, compass, magnetism, and Gyro. In software terms there’s Android 6.0, the new HTC Freestyle icon layouts, HTC Themes, Motion Launch, Sensor hub, and a Boost+ utility to control your phone and app

HTC 10 pre-orders will open up from 13th April. Prices and tariffs will be revealed at that time. HTC’s own site is offering unlocked and unbranded device pre-orders right now in your choice of dark, silver or gold at £569 ($699) = N220185 in naira. Hmmm that’s a whole lot of money.

HTC 10 seems like a nice phone, but the price is a bit steep. It costs $50 more than an iPhone or the Samsung Galaxy S7, yet doesn’t appear to offer any compelling reasons to choose it over its rivals. What’s your say on this, and are you going to buy the HTC 10?

PhonesAndroid Is Blackberry’s Only Future, With Two Cheaper Android On The Way by nze4al(op): 4:35pm On Apr 12, 2016
Blackberry set to release two new phones both powered by Android operating system later this year, as their CEO John Chen told told Abu Dhabi-based The National that “there would be two Android-powered phones coming later this year; one with a keyboard and the other with a full touchscreen”.

As we already knew BlackBerry had called time on its Blackberry operating system, and would be concentrating on Android instead, but this is the first time we’ve had any clues on what form factor the new phones would be taking.

Although there’s no word about when they’ll arrive, or how much they’ll cost, but considering BlackBerry publicly admitted last year’s Priv was too expensive, so we should expect both phones to turn up for significantly less cash.

It’s sad news for fans of the Priv’s sliding keyboard, as Blackberry will be ditching it in order to keep costs down. Hopefully for BlackBerry there’s still people out there that want phones with physical keyboards.

Science/TechnologyGoogle Disables April Fools’ Joke After The Prank Backfired by nze4al(op): 2:35pm On Apr 01, 2016
Google’s April Fools’ Day prank has backfired, as Gmail Mic Drop caused more tears than laughter. Google is known for taking April Fools’ really really seriously.

This year, Google brought the ‘Mic Drop’ prank to Gmail service. A real feature which Google introduced last night allowing a Gmail user to send a virtual ‘mic drop’ in the form of a GIF of a Minion dropping a microphone and would prevent any further reply from the receiver.

Unfortunately it didn’t really go to plan. Turns out the ‘mic drop’ feature actually replaces a currently active feature called ‘Send and Archive’ which appears alongside the send button when replaying.

The results have been….unfortunate to say the least, so much so that Google has in fact now pulled the feature after receiving a barrage of complaints.

Google added the following update on a Gmail blog post:

“Well, it looks like we pranked ourselves this year. Due to a bug, the Mic Drop feature inadvertently caused more headaches than laughs. We’re truly sorry. The feature has been turned off. If you are still seeing it, please reload your Gmail page.”

You can imagine the damage already. Many business customers have hastily sent important emails, only to receive irate feedback from customers and clients who have felt slighted by the flippant tone of the GIF and the lack of response to their emails.

PhonesWhat's Your Favorite/best Browser Apps For Android? by nze4al(op): 2:26pm On Apr 01, 2016
Everyone has different criteria when choosing their best Android browser. Some want the fastest, while others are looking for a browser that will consume as little data as possible. Here are the best Android browsers you can get, whatever the features or experience you’re looking for.

1. Opera: best for data savings

“Do more online with Opera for Android,” with more than 50 million installs from the Play Store, it appears that many believe in it. Opera browser syncs across multiple devices so you can take the same browsing experience from your smartphone to your PC. It also includes typical functions such as bookmarks and private browsing.

But it’s Opera’s data-saving features that really set it apart from other Android browsers. Opera can compress videos when viewing on mobile, so they use up less of your data

2. Chrome Beta: to stay ahead of the game

I’m not just talking about boring old regular Chrome. This is the better version of Chrome. It’s the Beta version…

Stay ahead of the pack by getting the latest Chrome updates before they reach your mates who are still rocking the standard Chrome version (losers). Chrome Beta gives you access to new features first, and although you’re encouraged to provide feedback, it’s not a requirement.

3.Uc browser: fast downloading and multitasking

If you haven’t already picked a favourite browser, then UC Browser is a pretty good option that’s also free. The app was recently updated for Android.

UC Browser gets you all the bells and whistles that you’ve come to expect from a desktop browser – tabbed browsing lets you go through multiple pages quickly, while a speed dial at launch gives you quick access to your favourite sites. Support for extensions can add a lot of useful functionality as well, and you can move to full screen browsing with the touch of a button.

Overall, the browser is fast and easy to use, and loads pages quickly. One new feature on Android is the addition of a full download manager, which is very useful when trying to save multiple files

4. Firefox: best for customization

Firefox is a stalwart of the browser domain and, as such, offers a very solid experience. But more than that, its comprehensive features list makes it a close contender for the top spot.

5. Dolphin Browser: best user-experience

Dolphin Browser is a favorite among the Android community. It’s functional, it looks great, it’s feature-packed and comes with some great gesture controls too. It’s also very handy when it comes to transferring preferences between devices and sharing content.

Possibly the best part of the Dolphin Browser experience is that it still supports good-old Flash Player, meaning you don’t have to suffer just because older websites can’t keep up with current technology.

What’s your favorite Android browser? Tell us what you think in the comment box below..

Not everyone needs or can afford an unlimited data plan (all hands are not equal), so whether you have 100MB or 10GB of mobile data on your smartphone, here are a few simple tips and tricks you can follow you to reduce your data consumption and save some money.

These tips will help reduce your mobile data usage

▶Check your Data Usage
First things first, let’s check how much data you’re using. On Android, open your phones data usage menu (Settings > Mobile Data/Data Usage)

And on iPhone you can check your data usage by going to (Settings > Cellular and taking a look under Cellular Data Usage) to find out how much you’ve used and which apps are using the most data and what you need to do to cut down on your data usage. There you can also set mobile data limit, a great way of avoiding an unwelcome extra charge on your bill and a warning when you approach it.

▶ Restrict Background Data
For Android users, in the Data Usage settings menu, tap on any of the apps listed to show more information about how much data they’re using, including a breakdown of its foreground and background data use.

Apps will often refresh and update in the background, even if you’re not using them, in order to open faster and provide up-to-date information. Enabling Restrict background data can significantly reduce your data usage.

▶ Disable auto-updates
If you own an Android phone, go to Google Play Store > Settings > Auto-Update apps and select ‘Auto-update apps over Wi-Fi only’. This way, your phone will wait until your connected to a Wi-Fi network before it updates your apps.

▶ Using firewall to controls internet access for apps
Most of the apps on your Android device probably require a data connection, and you may not even know when they are sending or receiving data. Firewall puts you in control of Internet access for apps, as well as how they can access it.

There are many firewall apps on the Google’s play store, but most of them requires root access to work. So i recommend you to download this NoRoot Firewall if your Android device is not rooted. As the name suggests, the app doesn’t require you to root your Android. Instead, it creates a VPN and diverts all the traffic on your phone through it. This way, you can choose which traffic you want to allow and which you want to stop. When any app tries to access the Internet, you’ll get an alert where you can allow or deny it and save the setting for the future. This level of control can also let you see when a certain app is accessing data for ads and block it.

▶ Wi-Fi is your friend
It sounds pretty obvious, but try to use Wi-Fi whenever possible (free Wi-Fi is always sweet). Whether you’re connected to the home, school or office Wi-Fi or making use of a hotspot, you should take advantage of any chance you get to use Wi-Fi instead of your mobile data.

▶ Using mini browser’s and reducing the image quality of your browser
Mini browser’s like Opera mini, Opera Max, Uc browser mini etc to browse the internet can help to reduce data usage, as they will compress images, video, webpages, and even the data sent by apps installed on your phone. Thereby reducing rate of data consumption.

You can also save data by reducing the quality of images from your browser settings or off the image entirely if not necessary.

▶ Manually close certain apps
Some data-hungry apps that are left open, or simply due to default settings on your phone that you weren’t aware of can chew through your data without you realising it.

Pressing the back button when exiting out of apps, instead of the home button, will close down your apps. However for certain apps such as GPS (maps), video or audio streaming (Youtube, Rdio, ) or Skype go to Settings > Application > Manage Applications > Running, then open the app you wish to close and force close.

▶ And if you’re not connected to a Wi-Fi network, avoid or limit the usage of popular messaging apps like Facebook, Viber, BBM and WhatsApp as they use a lot of data to send messages – there’s nothing wrong with a good old fashioned text or phone call!

If you have any tips or ways to protect our mobile data, let us know in the comments below.

CelebritiesPope Francis Joins Instagram And Gets 1 Million Followers Within 12 Hours by nze4al(op): 6:31pm On Mar 20, 2016
Pope Francis’ joined instagram on Saturday as @franciscus with a photo of him kneeling in prayer, and captioned “pray for me” in 9 languages. His new account broke a record for getting one million followers within 12 hours of launching his account.

The news of the Pope’s plans to join Instagram broke Thursday and came just weeks after his meeting with Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom.

During their meeting in late February, the two discussed “the power of images to unite people across different cultures and languages.” They also talked about the possibility that the Pope would join the image-based social media platform, according to a spokesperson from Instagram.

His time as Pope has been marked by an embrace of social media as a way to communicate with Catholic followers around the world.

Joining Instagram was a particularly smart move since, according to a spokesperson, the platform has been quickly gaining popularity in countries with a large Catholic presence such as Mexico, France, Italy and Brazil.
