firestar: They prowl still
...this Third
Even damned
...by Divine Will

The heat burns
...and lo
Ice thaws
...Proof of
defiance to
Divine Laws:

I saw
A being
and not fossil
Fresh from
Nature's white
...Her claws.
Cud still
fresh in its jaws.

I shiver

Here it is.
Proof of
Greed begetting Lust
Its Effect...

Its Cause.
aye!
a blow
shattered cranium
kept by nature
a sober reminder

of the unending cycle
of lust
of greed
of love sorely lacking

this creature
from nature's white
atop mountains of inca
once lived
happy and carefree
yet devoured
by her very own

aeons ago
a deluge ended it

but greed lives on
she never died in those waves
like the watchers
their loss

our plague.

firestar: Tis Greed that drew
She drew them
A third of them
Down to our depths
To mortals of beauty divine
To the delicate mortal
The feminine kind

The Third came
They came and took
Took their fill
Whilst driving men insane

Violence ensued
To the point
Of drowning
the earth...
Earth became deluged...

All because of who?
Tis she.
The One whose name
Remains a mystery...
Words neatly woven
aye mother spider!
Let my intellect be your prey.

Listen to the screams from the past
her name was never lost
supple bodies
gleaming in the sunlight
the watchers watched

the blades of greed
fanned the flames of LUST
godlike ones fell
like shooting stars

love was never her name

HotNaijaBabe: Sounds of gongo!!
Bam! Bam!! Bam!!!
Mortals exit..
Alas..
Oahray, the god of stone..

What bends my mothers back?
And caused blood like tears to flow from my saviors hands!
What separates man from beast?
And lifts the whole of humanity
From grass to grace!

Love,
Even without the light in my eyes
I would sense it-
In the smile of an infant.
The cold blues of a love song
Nostalgic tap tap!!
Of rain on my window.

Love,
In the eyes of my lover
The careful touch of arms
Locked in embrace

Love,
In the voice of my mother
The memories of wails and sweets

Love,
Is why you breath
Oahray!!!
It is why you won't watch a child go astray!

Love,
Is the easiest way out
It covers all the faults
Of mortals

The God of love I know
Even,
the god of love I know
Oahray..!!!
The god of stone..
I dont know!
formerly tunes
of lust unbriddled
now in robes of love
what tune shall the piper next play?

What makes us different from animals?
Love?

paint the picture
of savage lions tearing prey
of mountain goats
locked in another meaningless tussle
a clash of horns
for the fun of it.

Hide the big picture
of the trigger-happy lad
of another explosion
of the poison-birthed throes of death

What makes the mother hen
fearlesly face the serpent
her chicks behind her.
Instinct?
Tell me if you do know.

Another baby
a refuse dump its new cradle
abandoned by its mother.
Its human mother.
Questions unanswered
many more asked
where is the love
of which you speak?
Tell me if you do know.

A god of stone
so named for lust sake
an absence of it.

Like you fair maiden
I do know the God of love,
of laughter
of glee
of life.
The goddess of lust
I know not.

Hotnaijababe: Soul songs don't fade
And lust chains don't sway
What binds the soul on the right?
And what binds it on the left?

Let Ur tots leave u for a while
Like tendrils of smoky globs
Twisting and turning
Weaving silky webs
of memories past..

That person
That Ur heart knows
And Ur flesh seeks to know!
What drums do your heart beat?
Songs of love , lust or wants?
Tell me!
Tell me, Ur soul songs
The lingering fingers of ur dread
Knowing you can't have what you want
and you can't keep what you have..

Like silky smoke
Lust lingers awhile
and then.. sneaks away...
Gone- but still with u!
Shall hearts of stone beat yet?
I shall sing
neither of love
nor lust glorified
Lust a shapely lady
I never knew her

embers of passion
shamelessly fanned
self-control
a lack of it
shall not mortals
remain mortals still?

Pardon me fair maiden
listen...
The echoes
of love unrequited
of lust unquenched
of affection still-born

search no further
fair one.
In these cardiac walls of mine
a grim reality
lust doesnt live here
she doesnt even visit

Those chains called lust,
love potion.
dark clouds
of infatuation

call the doctor
while the heart yet beats

why sing with zest
a fading love song?
Have you no say
in this beat gone wrong?

Call the doctor
while the heart yet beats.

Trust Nigerians to be so self righteous, as if we are much better.
What of the many deaths that has been overlooked here?
The Mubi killings, the Aluu4 killing, the countless acid baths, the many deaths that do not even make it to the news, much less the headlines...
A boy kills with a gun (easiest weapon to use for mass killing) and a mob of adults beat people to death without mercy and then set them ablaze. Which is more savage, more animalistic?
To think people just declared Nigeria a safer place to live in that the US.
At least the people value life enough to make a fuss over it and take steps to curb a future occurence.
Make una shattap jawe!

Why would a mother with a psychologically unstable child keep a collection of guns?
Guns have only one function: TO KILL.
Its so sad the e-diot had to take 26 other lives.

Literature › Re: Patch Of Black by Oahray(op):
At exactly 11:59pm on the fourth schoolday of my third week in secondary school, the new worst day of my life had just a minute remaining in it.

No, it was not the day Rachael left. That was months ago. I had started to get used to it.

It was not the day papa lashed at me for the sins of my brothers. Papa had since replaced the television, and my twin brothers had calmed down after that. Not that they quashed their rivalry, they simply fought less and respected me more.

That thursday began much like every other week day.
Mama always made sure we got ready on time.
Ehi had started school.

That morning, the four of us set out. I felt good in my 3weeks old white shirt and blue trousers. It was a mark of seniority as far as I was concerned. The twins wore shorts like other primary school boys did. I wore trousers like other secondary school boys did.

Papa had bought me a rubber wristwatch after I finished my final primary school exams. That was the first time I ever owned a watch that truly worked.

It was quarter past 7am.
I thought of the never-smiling senior prefects at the gate and tried to hurry up, but Ehi was holding on to my left hand and could not keep up.

"Ojie!" someone screamed my name from afar.

I turned to see Ugo hurrying to catch up.
We had been classmates in primary school and it continued into secondary school.

We waited for him.

"Ojie, you do your maths assignment?" he asked as soon as he reached where we were.

"Yes"

"Abeg, I no fit do my own, make I see your own."

"I pulled off my back bag and reached into it".
The growing confusion soon turned to apprehension as I realised my maths note was not among the contents of my bag.

I looked at Ugo. He understood.

"You forget am for house?"

"E be like o" I answered, still confused. I recalled putting all my notebooks on the sitting room table into my bag before I left for school.

"Time still dey o. Make we go house go collect am." he offered.

I usually walked my siblings to their school gate before continuing to mine. This time I bade them goodbye and turned to go back home with Ugo.

"Hey you!" A sharp voice exclaimed.
We turned to see a lanky figure in the same blue and white uniform we wore. His shirt however was long sleeved. It was obvious he was in SS3.

"The two of you, am I not talking to you? Come here and carry my bag!"

I glanced at my watch. It was half past 7am, thirty minutes before the overzealous school prefects locked the gate. I had to go get my maths note.

"Please I forgot my maths note at home. I want to go and collect it" I started to explain.

"Shut up! Did I ask you about your note? Obey before complain."

For a second, I was torn between disobeying this senior and getting lashed by Mr Osahon, our maths teacher.

It didnt take long to decide. I bolted towards home.

"Hey, come back here!" Lanky yelled after me. "Don't let me catch you again o!"

I ignored the threat and continued running, but turned back briefly to see him give Ugo his bag.

It took me less than five minutes to get home.
After some minutes of thoroughly searching with mama, I had not yet found it.

All hope lost, it was a visibly shaken version of me who set out again on that road to school.

I glanced at my watch.

This time, it read 7:53am.

ayobase: Many with gun have been killed.

Lets not try to justify an act when we all know that it is not perfect enough.

Curbing of social menace starts from disarming!
hmmm... How do you suggest they disarm everyone or prevent illegal possession?
A psychopath would always find some means to kill. Like in Naija where possession is illegal, even university cultists own firearms.
Don't put all the blame on owning guns, put it on the world that has gone insane.

yes, even I have, monkey post things. However it isnt in a professional league (top one for that matter) or official competition. Zambian league in 1962? Even at the moment, their league is thrash, much less 40years ago.
