The site is looking better. However, it would be nice if forum threads were not center-justified. Instead they should be left-justified, as it was before.
But I (I think with a number of people I have read from here) prefer the centralized alignment. Neater than the left alignment IMO.

ACM10: Are you intimidating us with a ban? If you can't keep your cool in a controversial Politics section, better quit the job of a moderator. I considers the above comment as a threat. You can't just continue to stifle peoples voice. If you guys don't want Igbo posters on this forum, you better state it boldly. Stop communicating to us in codes. Enough of this low level discriminatory practices.

Whenever someone reports a comment. It will be best to review all the comments in that thread. You can't just delete some and leave other inflammatory comments.
What intimidation? What threat? Every poster has a right to complain. I have no problem with the complaint but with the insulting word he used.

Or is it part of the complaint to call mods "idiiots" or you didn't see that?

maclatunji: I am too lazy to check your antecedents on the issue but since you have said this. I will take your word for it. This country is truly messed-up, that is all I can say. In fact, I am hardly interested in Nigerian political issues at the moment, it is all one big tragic-joke!
OK no problem.

Check this out : Donald Duke Blames Jonathan For Weakness!
PoliticsRe: Blame Me Also For Failed Hostage Rescue – Jonathan by OAM4J(op):
maclatunji: @bolded, you are saying something I have said for about 12 months. What has caused the change in your outlook?
I have maintained that stand since the pre and post election violence. He is the C in C for God's sake, he should stop blaming others but deal with the situation and if he cannot, he should resign. Today he want us to believe its IBB responsible for the bombings at another time he wants us blame Buhari for the violence because Buhari is a bad loser. Who cares who is responsible, he should just deal with the situation that is why he is C in C.

And for those with ethnic lenses, Donald Duke another SS person was the 1st to publicly tell GEJ how weak he was when he was blaming the so called cabals for his indecisiveness as the then Acting President.
@Mods.

I noticed you conveniently deleted WilyWily's derogatory remarks about Awolowo and Akintola on the LASTMA fight thread, but simply left the retaaarded, dumbb idiiotic comments from hacks and lowlives like Papatosibe on the Akunyili-Iweala thread, as well as the numerous moroonic comments from the reanimated vulture-carcass known as OduaSolja.

Hmmm. . . Nice one, idiiots smiley
I didn't delete WilyWily's post but am sure his post must have been deserving to be deleted.

Did you report any of these people you mentioned? No. So quit blaming the mods for what they know nothing about. We do not have the capability of reading through all the threads.

If you want to report, use report to moderator or post the link of the insulting post here.

And you will be banned next time you insult the mods.

dadicvila: so your father will take over abi??you will not blame the people that promised to make the country ungovernable
If GEJ cannot handle/deal with those who promised to make the country ungovernable then he is unfit to be the C in C.

I will let your parental insult pass this time, but don't get used to it, cos it will earn you a ban when you try it next time with any poster.

wesley80: You should take the blame as the Mod for the frequent tribal jibes and ever increasing number of bigots this section has been continuously sprouting and do us all a favour by tendering your resignation letter. It would be most honourable, or does anyone need to tell you you've Failed? How do I sound?
No, no one has told me I've failed. It does not matter if you think so, it will only be your respected opinion, until the owner of the site thinks so.

So wait until Admin complains and holds me responsible for frequent tribal jibes and the ever increasing number of bigots in this section and see if I will open my mouth like GEJ to accept the blame. Then you can advice me to resign.
PoliticsRe: Blame Me Also For Failed Hostage Rescue – Jonathan by OAM4J(op): 3:15pm On Mar 16, 2012
naijaking1: Unfortunately, even the so-called moderator is so politicaly myopic that he doesn't even understand the virtues involved when the president has the nerves and the honesty to said, "I take the blame for all that happens in my country" Like LBJ, GEJ knows that the bucks stop at his table. If you don't undersatnd it, please do yourself a favor a get educated.
If he resigns over a killing by Hausa criminals in Sokoto, then you'll replace him with Tinubu the drug pusher?
Myopic? Because I advice him to do the honorable thing? Yes the buck stops at his desk, that is why he he shouldn't just accept the blame for failed rescue mission but for all the security lapses involving Boko Haram and follow it up with his resignation.

You my friend is the myopic one for your inability to see that our president is incompetent in handling security matters. From "We are on top of the situation" to "we know they are" to "We have to live with bombings" to "Let is pray that they repent" to "We will not dialogue with them" and now "We are begging them"

What has Tinubu got to do with my comment? Put off your ethnocentric goggle so you can see clearly.

And what does my personal opinion got to do with my moderator role?

But messages between mods and members are logged and visible to other mods, so I cannot afford to send a love message to mama-gee as a mod without Seun and other mods seeing it. But if she becomes my friend 1st, then messages sent as friends are private.

I’m partly to blame for failed hostage rescue – Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan said on Thursday he would take some of the responsibility for a failed hostage rescue attempt in which an Italian and a British man died in Sokoto.

Kidnappers killed Franco Lamolinara and Chris McManus on Thursday last week while a raid to free them was under way, according to British government sources briefed on the matter.

The case drew criticism from top Italian officials, who questioned why Rome was not consulted before the operation, which was launched by Nigerian forces with support from Britain.

In an interview with CNN on Thursday, Jonathan said Nigerian authorities had worked with the British and other international intelligence agencies, but did not specify who the other nations were.

Jonathan said Nigeria took its share of the blame for the operation’s failure.

He said, “We worked with the international intelligence system. If there was success, there would have been a collective glory. Since we did not quite succeed, well, we all take responsibility.”

“So I cannot say I will not take part of that responsibility: yes, I do. I’m the President of the country.”

Britain said it had not been possible to inform Italy of the operation until it was under way because of the fast moving situation on the ground and the “imminent and growing danger” to the hostages’ lives.

Jonathan said the raid was initiated after conversations between the captors were intercepted.

The hostages had been moved several times and there were fears they would be taken out of Nigeria, he said.

The escape of one of the alleged kidnappers during an arrest the day before the failed rescue attempt also raised fears McManus and Lamolinara would be killed, the president said.

Jonathan said he was not aware of any demand for a ransom, or of any ransom payment having been made.

“In this particular case, no family member informed security agencies that they (the captors) had reached out to them for ransom,” he told CNN.

An autopsy conducted on Lamolinara’s body on its return to Rome revealed he had been shot four times, according to Italian media reports.
