MRbrownJAY:Good, I thought of that too. But I don't know how many people will chose death over suffering/hardship, the common saying 'if there is life, there is hope' holds for me. Your argument is valid for as long as the child is not yet conceived. Sure I will not want to bring a child into this world to suffer, but once conceived, I'll chose hardship over death. PS I don't judge or condemn those who chose abortion. may be there are other situations I might advice someone to abort, like in the case of pregnancy from despoil by robbers/father. But then, I was discussing cases like those with a friend recently, she said, in event like those she will rather have the child and give it up for adoption than abort the pregnancy. CHOICES! |
why are you telling her to maintain her stand. maybe for her fiance to be. yes. but her outlook in general is not normal. being repulsed by men of your race to me is a psychological problem maybe arising from childhood events. maybe she was sexually abused or something.
You have a point, but I was only addressing the moment: Two people who in love, and the girl's father saying 'No' because the guy is Yoruba. Even if she is to address/overcome whatever problem she has with her tribesmen, the solution doesn't include giving up on this present relationship. |
Very funny. |
Simple! you have to come to the baby's level to communicate with them. |
MRbrownJAY:Either it is manufacturer's error or human's mistake/carelessness, whatever the cause, life remains sacred ![]() |
Ujujoan:Yeye! many like you are now my sister inlaws, cooking and enjoying amala with ewedu. Wont be surprise if one of my rich Yoruba brothers hook you up soon. @OP Patience is the key, I have seen so many in your shoes overcame. Maintain your stand, let your dad know how much you love each other, with time they will give up, Just be patience. |
'Quit you like men and be strong' says the Big Book. The best encouragement you need will come from within you Be encouraged! Its never over till it's over. |
michelin89:Am not ready to pop the question in the next 2 years, so relax and face your studies. ![]() @ Topic. If you are careless enough to get preggy out of wedlock, should be man or woman enough to accept the responsibility In my book, life is sacred. |
OP, carry go jare. I envy you right now. cos i dont see myself travelling anywhere for d next 5 months Anyway, December looks hopeful. ![]() Keep us posted, who knows, someone might follow some of your routes. |
Google search. |
Ujujoan:lol. Am not hating, In fact I 'envy' your boyfriend and really wish to meet him. ![]() And its about time Seun appoint you as moderator for women affairs on this forum ![]() Romeo4real:thank you jare, I need not say more. |
manuch:Interesting. May be, it's about time condom sellers start provide testing rooms with testing puss-ies as added service ![]() |
It's about time! I just hope it's not another election winning gimmick like 'Power emergency' of 2007. |
Allowing sense of reasoning to prevail over personal pride is one of the hallmarks of true leadership. Besides, Jonathan is still achieving what he wanted, so the end justifies the means. I never wanted the ban in the first place, I only want serious improvement with our dying football. |
^^not a dream, but a wish. . . too bad wishes are not horses, but some wishes do come true ![]() |
Honestly, I can't wait for this 2011 drama to start. I wish these big names and PDP will destroy each other and a more competent person will emerge. . . really wish. |
Good one radiant and R231. shall be sending mine too. |
lack of education/adequate information is part pf the reasons but ultimately it also boils down to individual choices. I know some poor family with few children and there are many rich educated families with lots of children too. e.g Late MKO Abiola. |
Nope. Marrying a beautiful lady doesn't keep a man from philandering. That is one of the wonders of the world. |
@OP Your story is a sad one. I also respect your decision to forgive. It is a noble thing and a very rare gift in men, especially in situations like this. But like many have said here, continue the relationship ONLY when you are sure your forgiveness is total and you will have no problem trusting and loving her again. @Uju Why must every relationship issue turn to male vs female debate with you? ![]() You have little or no advice for the OP, but went all the way debating your feminist theories and querying the OP's fidelity. That wasn't the reason the OP started this thread. |
Thank you OP for starting this thread. The recommendation here made me spend my weekend watching these movies - In pursuit of Happiness - The Notebook - Sweet November - A walk to remember They are all very touching but A walk to remember was most touching for me. I also enjoyed watching August Rush. Really had a great weekend courtesy of this thread recommendations. |
Dede1:I think it is more of the usual Nigerian love for power trait. Fate handed to him a once in life opportunity and he is taking it to its fullest. Forget about him waiting till 2015, the political equation doesn't always remain the same with time in Nigerian politics. 2 years ago, who would have thought Jonathan will be the man to beat in PDP. |
whaooooo! good bye Argentina |
Not surprised! |
It is ok Menek! @ all I just wish to appeal to everyone, it is about time we rest this thread. For all that pledged to support Menek and those who who had it in mind to help him, please call him and forward whatever you promised/can. I know there is a fear of him not being genuine because there are many Nigerians who have abused such privileges in the past, but i will plead that we give him a benefit of doubt and do it as unto God/humanity, if he is not genuine (which i doubt) then let him be left to God. I still wish Aisha could coordinate this, but as it is, it looks like Aisha's hands are full at the moment cos she has not been frequent on NL of recent, therefore, the only option left is to get in touch with menek directly. let's just do it. All he needs now is just between N150k and N200K. Please assist him. |
190:190 there is no facebook entry for that email. The picture you posted belonged to Dorothy Ogbonnia and not Dorathy Ogbonna. Look again the two names are different. Think Mama gee deserves an apology from you |
Beaf:they are both Yoruba now, and in Yoruba tradition the young 'dobale' (prostrate) for the elder. Obj is older than Bankole's father. He dobale same way for Awujale recently. He is trying to show he is still a good Yoruba 'boy' ![]() |
I am not the crying type, but I watched The Champ and had no idea where those tears came from, hearing the little boy towards the end asking the champ to wake up, brought out all the emotions in me. I haven't got enough courage to watch the movie the 2nd time - feels too real. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAhrqKqK_cA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgIPePf3Rzo&feature=related |
@OP I like bad girls, they brought out the best out of me ![]() |
Aloyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ![]() you got really cracking especially with the coach comment 'ope o at least them no go blame me if we lose the match' ![]() |
