World Champion drone racing pilot has piloted the Vodafone's Wingcopter XBR Drone to a new drone (VTOL) speed world record at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The teenage UAV racer, Luke Bannister, achieved a top speed average of 150 miles per hour (240.6 kilometers per hour) down a 328-foot track at the world’s greatest celebration of motorsport and car culture.

Guinness World Records has officially confirmed the fastest ground speed record by a remote-controlled tilt-rotor aircraft (vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) UAV). This achievement is what Vodafone needs to promote its upcoming 5G network.

Vodafone has shifted part of its focus towards the UAV industry. The Telecom operator is now using it's 4G Internet of Things (IoT) technology to test the world’s first air traffic control drone tracking and safety technology.

The tech will protect aircraft from catastrophic accidents as well as prevent criminal drones (too small to be detected by conventional radar) invasion at sensitive locations such as hospitals, airports and prisons .

Vodafone UK Enterprise Director said:

“Setting a drone world record at The Goodwood Festival of Speed gives us a glimpse of what is to come with the roll-out of 5G across the country.  With super-charged data speeds, we will see technology – including drones – put to new and exciting uses.”

5G networks is expected to be rolled out globally by 2020 with speeds between 10Mbps and 100Mbps, that's between 100 and 1,000 times faster than the 4G LTE networks.

Local police say that the suspects never displayed any weapons during the heist.

But the men had clearly planned the robbery in advance.

Two charged straight for a table with MacBooks, slamming lids shut and ripping them away.

Closer to the door, another pair of hoodlums yanked out iPhones from their tethers – as a little girl ducks under a table to hide.

One customer who tried to prevent the robbery was knocked over as thieves fled the scene.

Police are now looking for five suspects – four thieves, and a possible getaway driver.

Authorities describe the suspects as black males aged between 16 and 18 years old.

They're also looking into the possibility that this crime may be connected to a spate of recent thefts in the US state.

"There are other reports of other places, other cities in California, that have had these kinds of takeover thefts," said Hudson.

"So we are looking into [this crime] being connected to other crimes, at any other Apple Stores outside of Fresno."

A Brazen robbery of an Apple Store in broad daylight has been captured by CCTV cameras and shared to the world.

The crystal-clear clip shows four men snatching more than £20,000 worth of pricey Apple gear, before fleeing the scene.

The bold heist was over in less than 30 seconds, and saw thieves make off with 26 different items.

Four men wearing hooded jackets were seen running into the Californian store and tearing Apple gadgets away from their show-tables.

"Various iPhones, the iPhone 6, iPhone 7 and [iPhone] 8, and even the new iPhone Xwas taken in this grand theft," said Lt. Mark Hudson of the Fresno Police Department, speaking to ABC7 News.

"One customer stood by the door to prevent them from leaving but was knocked out of the way."

Apple's video shows how terrified onlookers – including a group of teenage girls – watched the robbery in shock and fear.

Volkswagen's Bugatti is set to unveil a limited-edition of a new hyper car called the Divo.

Like Bugatti Veyron and Chiron named after the racing drivers, the $6m Divo hypercar is named after a French racing driver , Albert Divo, who won the Targa Florio for Bugatti twice in the 1920s.

The Divo will be built on $3m Chiron's chassis and its 1,479bhp powertrain ,the current Bugatti's model powered by a turbocharged 16-cylinder engine . But it will have less weight, more downforce and better handling capacity .

President of Bugatti Automobiles said:

"With this project, the Bugatti team has an opportunity to interpret the brand DNA in terms of agile, nimble handling in a significantly more performance-oriented way"

The Divo will be unveiled on the 24th of August in California and only 40 of the new Hypercar will be made.

Opposition Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV shot back at Duterte by describing him as “one evil man” and his remarks as “very much consistent with the deceitfulness, heartlessness and ruthlessness of his policies.”

Presidential spokesman Harry Roque has defended his remarks, saying Duterte has the right to express his opinion on religion and cited the president’s previous disclosure that he was once sexually abused by a priest.

Duterte on Friday recalled that experience, when he said he and other students were fondled by a foreign Jesuit priest, who has since died.

Amid the criticisms, officials have arranged a meeting between Duterte and the head of the largest association of Catholic bishops on Monday. Filipino bishops opened an annual conference in Manila Saturday and were expected to address Duterte’s tirades when they conclude their meeting on Monday.

Some Catholic bishops have been critical of Duterte’s brutal crackdown against illegal drugs, which have left thousands of suspects dead in reported clashes with the police, along with his vulgar and expletives-laden speeches. He once called Pope Francis a “son of a bitch” for sparking a monstrous traffic during a 2015 visit in Manila that trapped Duterte for hours.

The Philippine president, who recently sparked outrage for calling God stupid, has courted new controversy in his largely Roman Catholic country by saying he will resign if anybody can prove that God exists.

President Rodrigo Duterte, who has had a thorny  relationship with the church, questioned anew in a speech late Friday some of the basic tenets of the Catholic faith, including the concept of original sin, which he said taints even innocent infants and can only be removed through baptism in a church for a fee.

“Where is the logic of God there?” Duterte asked in a speech at the opening of a science and technology event in southern Davao city.

The 73-year-old leader said that if there’s “one single witness” who can prove, perhaps with a picture or a selfie that a human was “able to talk and to see God,” he will immediately resign.

Duterte, however, suggested that there must be a God or a supreme being that prevents billions of stars and celestial bodies from colliding in a frequency that could have long threatened the human race.

Last week, he was slammed, including by some of his political allies, for calling God “stupid” in another speech, with one Catholic bishop calling him a “psychopath.”

Duterte lamented in that speech that Adam and Eve’s sin in Christian theology resulted in all the faithful falling from divine grace.

“Who is this stupid God? This son of a bitch is then really stupid,” he said last week. “You were not involved but now you’re stained with an original sin … What kind of a religion is that? That’s what I can’t accept, very stupid proposition.”

A Chinese man in eastern Zhejiang province was fined by the police for carrying an abandoned car on top of his three-wheeler on a busy road.

He bought the car for $125 to sell it as scrap. In order to save some money, he decided to transport the whole car to the waste recycling station by himself.

He was later arrested by the Police and fined $202 . Points were also deducted from his licence.

A Jealous wife has been arrested after hacking off her husband’s penis today– with a 12-inch-long carving knife.

Karuna Sanusan, 24, carried out the bloody attack on 40-year-old Siripan after discovering he was having an affair, she told police.

She then hurled his severed manhood out the bedroom window, leaving Siripan writhing and screaming in agony in a pool of his own blood.

Neighbours heard his howls of pain and called police, who arrived at the couple’s home in Sriracha, near Bangkok, at 6.20am.

Officers recovered his penis and put it in an ice box for surgeons to try to re-attach - but medics said that it would not be possible.

Siripan was rushed to the nearby Samitivej Sriracha Hospital while Sanusan was arrested and held in custody.

She was pictured by reporters sitting calmly as she was interviewed by police.

She told officers that she had recently discovered her husband had been seeing different women and hatched the revenge plot to cut off his penis.

She said:

“Me and my husband work together selling organic vegetables at a stall. Before this happened I became suspicious he was having an affair.

“I always saw him flirting with a lot of girls and I had an idea of what he was doing.

“Then I found out that he was secretly going with other women. This made me very angry.

"I was full of anger and couldn't relax. I was so angry inside.

She also told cops that she planned the butchery.

She added:

“I aroused him in the morning while he was absent-minded, then used the knife to cut off his penis. I threw it out of the window.”

Police Colonel Somkid Boonlert, Deputy Head of Sriracha Police Station, said that officers had received an emergency call about a man's penis being cut off with a knife.

He said:

“Police arrived along with rescue staff and found the man severely injured. From the initial investigation it was discovered that the husband and wife had a career together selling vegetables. “She had an idea that he was seeing other women and she took revenge.

“The man had lost a lot of blood. He is now under close medical supervision. He will never be able to use his penis in the same way again.

A 24 year old Florida woman, Patresha Isidore ,was arrested after she drove off with her ex-boyfriend stuck on the bonnet of a Mercedes-Benz .

According to 22 year old man, Junior Francis, after an argument with his ex-girlfriend,Isidore rushed to the car they jointly own and both needed that day. So he jumped on the bonnet in an effort to prevent her from driving away.

Patresha Isidore told WSVN

“I had to go get my child,” .

“I wasn’t going to deal with any foolishness.”

“He had plenty of time to get off the car". “He didn’t want to stop.”

They still live together despite breaking up eight months ago . Isidore said she had no choice but to drive away as her ex-boyfriend held onto the bonnet of her Mercedes-Benz C300.

Francis later managed to remove the key from the car’s ignition when they got to the West Park. He told the police he didn’t want to press charges against the mother of his five-year old child .He also refused to provide a statement.

Francis said he’s still frightened by what happened on the highway :
“This woman is going to kill me, “She’s really out to kill me.”

For people who constantly drop their phones, a German student may have come up with a solution. 

An 'active damping' (AD) phone case has built-in sensors and eight springs that look like hooks.

The sensors can automatically detect when the phone is in free fall, and then deploy the springs to catch the phone when it hits the ground. 

The designer Philip Frenzel, a student from Aalen University in Germany, calls his invention an 'airbag' for smartphones.

Each corner has two springs, but it is currently unknown what measures are in place to stop the case from activating accidentally.

After picking it back up, the user can simply fold the springs back into the case so it's ready for the next drop.

Frenzel won the top award from the German Society for Mechatronics for his phone case, even though the design is still a prototype.

He has also patented the technology, meaning the case could be readily available to consumers in the near future.

The case appears to work perfectly on flat surfaces, but there is no indication that results would be as solid if the phone is dropped on a jagged or uneven edge.

While there are plenty of options on the market, from waterproof cases to ones that claim to be 'indestructible', there may not be another one that 'bounces'.
