RM Sotheby just sold a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO for a World Record $48.4m at an auction in Monterey, California.

The 56-year-old car broke the existing car auction record of $38 million set in 2014 for a 63 Ferrari 250 GTO.

The new record holder ,one of only 36 Ferrari 250 GTOs ever built ,still has its original engine, gearbox, rear axle and factory Series II body.

The classic car was used as a test car by Ferrari and driven by 1961 Formula 1 world champion Phil Hill during the ’62 Targa Florio.

It entered ten races in 1962 Italian National GT Championship, winning 9 out of 10 races.

Chelsea have denied claims that they are up for sale.

A report from the Sunday Times Business section has claimed that Blues owner Roman Abramovich would be seeking more than £2billion for the west London club, and had hired the same US specialist who helped broker the sale of 13 per cent of Manchester City to Chinese investors in 2015.

That deal valued City at £1.9billion as a whole, with Chelsea's Russian owner wanting to top that.

However, Mirror Sport have learned from a club source that nothing has changed at Stamford Bridge, and that the club is not up for sale at the present time

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has hired New York bank Raine Group in preparation for selling off the club, according to The Sunday Times.

The bank is said to have valued the club at £2billion and Chelsea have engaged their advisors after they helped Manchester City sell a 13 per cent stake in the club to China Media Capital for £265m in 2015.

It is unclear whether they would look for new owners or to sell a stake in the club which Abramovich bought for £140m in 2003 but the move comes at a critical time for Chelsea, who look overwhelmed by the scale of the wealth of clubs such as Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain.

In May, following the political sanctions Great Britain imposed on Russia in response to the Salisbury poisoning, Chelsea announced that Abramovich was putting off a proposed £500m expansion of Stamford Bridge.

They have failed to qualify for the Champions League for the second time in three years, having previously qualified for the competition every year since Abramovich took over.

They have also still to convince Eden Hazard to sign a new contract or risk having to sell him to Real Madrid next summer when he will have just one more year on his deal.

Chelsea need to rebuild the team under new manager Maurizio Sarri after having allowed talents such as Mo Salah, Kevin de Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku to leave the club in recent years.

US authorities have found a secret drug tunnel stretching from a former KFC in the state of Arizona to Mexico.

The 600ft (180m) passageway was in the basement of the old restaurant in San Luis, leading under the border to a home in San Luis Rio Colorado.

Authorities made the discovery last week and have arrested the southern Arizona building's owner.

They were alerted to the tunnel after the suspect, Ivan Lopez, was pulled over, according to KYMA News.

During the traffic stop, police dogs reportedly led officers to two containers of hard narcotics with a street value of more than $1m in Lopez's vehicle.

Investigators say the containers held more than 118kg (260lb) of methamphetamine, 6kg of cocaine, 3kg of fentanyl, and 19kg of heroin.

Agents searched Lopez's home and his old KFC, discovering the tunnel's entrance in the kitchen of the former fast-food joint.

The passageway was 22ft deep, 5ft tall and 3ft wide, and ended at a trap door under a bed in a home in Mexico, said US officials.

The drugs are believed to have been pulled up through the tunnel with a rope.

This is not the first such discovery - two years ago a 2,600ft tunnel was found by authorities in San Diego, California.

Authorities said it was one of the longest such drug tunnels ever discovered, used to transport an "unprecedented cache" of cocaine and marijuana.

In July alone, US Border Patrol seized 15kg of heroin, 24lbs of cocaine, 327kg of methamphetamine and 1,900kg of marijuana at border checkpoints nationwide.

After a military parade on Thursday in Western Russia, an old T-34 tank attempting to board a transport truck fell off the side and flipped over.

Soldiers standing nearby were lucky to escape being crushed by the heavy vehicle.

The military parade was celebrating the 75th anniversary of Soviet's World War II tank victory over NaziGerman forces .
