Albert Dryden gunned down Harry Collinson as journalists assembled in Butsfield,County Durham,to see his home which he built without planning permission demolished in 1991.

The murder was filmed by a BBC Look North cameraman and Dryden was later jailed for life for the murder and the attempted murder of council solicitor Michael Dunstan.

Dryden,now 76,suffered a stroke behind bars which has left him unable to talk.
He will be released from prison to live out his days in a nursing home.
Mr Collinson's older brother,Roy, was told of the killer's release by Victim Support.

He told the Northern Echo: "He’s been released because he is dying, but that doesn’t bring one iota of comfort to me.

“The whole thing is a disaster, it should never have happened. My brother shouldn’t have been killed and Dryden should never have been locked up."

Derwentside County Council moved in to demolish the bungalow on June 20, 1991, and were accompanied by staff and a number of TV and newspaper reporters.

The creator of this street legal,Upside-Down Camaro is Jeff Bloch,and he has created a number of vehicles for the LeMons league, including cars that look like a plane,a helicopter,and the station wagon from National Lampoon’s Vacation.

This Upside-Down Camaro was recently given to racer Dave Montoya, who borrowed it from the LeMons HQ for an event.
Apparently,the homeowners association in his neighborhood is annoyed by the appearance of the weird vehicle and has sent him a letter, asking him to remove the car from his driveway.

Stating that “all Permitted Parking Areas shall be used solely for the parking of motor vehicles used for personal transportation,” the homeowners association gives Montoya 15 days to park the car somewhere else so that his “property is in compliance.”

But there’s one thing The Homeowners Association are missing – the Camaro is actually exactly that,a road-legal vehicle for personal use.

Catt Gallinger, from Ottawa, Canada, decided to get a sclera tattoo, which changes the colour of the whites around your eye.

She shared disturbing pictures of her eye weeks after the treatment she now considers a "massive mistake".

The 24-year-old former pet nutritionist had the procedure four weeks ago and is still struggling to see out of one eye.

Sclera modification - in which a specialist injects a liquid into the eyeball to stain the whites of a person's eye,is becoming popular among body modification fans.But Catt said that her eyeball quickly began to ooze purple liquid.

Concerned, she went to the hospital where she was given a dose of antibiotic drops.

Shocking picture above shows how her eye reacted to the drops, swelling up like a balloon.

Doctors then gave her steroid drops but after three weeks, her pain and blurry vision remained and the purple liquid appeared to be clumping around her cornea.

Catt said she wanted to modify her eye colour to "make me feel more at home in my body".But she now is warning everyone against trying it.

The former model said she has cancelled any future work and that she has spent hundreds on prescriptions over the past weeks.

Doctors and her surgeon have told her that her eyesight will not get better.She told the Sun Online that she advises anyone against trying it out.

But if they do, they should "look into not just the artist and their portfolio, but to talk to some of their clients, talk to other artists about them and get experiences beforehand".

For now, the prognosis is that her eyesight will either "go completely or stay a blurry mess" but she hopes surgery will prevent it from getting worse.

Surgeons said her sclera tore from the size of needle used, depth and amount of ink inserted.

Doctors were also concerned that the equipment was not sterile and that there is an infection stuck in with the excess ink, she said.

The British luxury automotive brand's obsession with the Guinness Book of World Records clearly shows no signs of abating with its latest publicity stunt -- setting the fastest speed ever for towing a skier through snow.

The skier in question is former UK Olympian Graham Bell and the car that pulled him at speeds of up to 117mph is the new Jaguar XF Sportbreak with all-wheel drive.

The new record, a whole 47mph faster than the current best, was set at the Arctic Revi Test Centre in Aejeplog, Sweden, where the temperature was a decidedly chilly -28°C -- great for strong, compacted snow, but potentially problematic for a car's powertrain and of course for a skier's ability to maintain his body temperature and mobility.

Yet after just two practice runs Jaguar was able to set a new record, thanks mostly to the car's special traction control system that enables smooth acceleration off the line on potentially any surface plus continuous adjustments to power channelled to the axles to counteract wheel spin and loss of grip.

The car, XF Sportbrake's superb traction, handling and high speed stability made it the perfect choice for this speed record attempt.

One woman's rose gold iPhone saved her life during the horrific Las Vegas shooting Sunday night.
The woman, who has not been publicly identified, showed her cab driver her damaged phone after the horrific attack that left 59 people dead and 527 injured during country music star Jason Aldean's concert Sunday night.

A photo of the pricey and popular device shows the back of the iPhone completely shattered after being hit by a single bullet. It's unclear how or where the woman was holding the phone while fleeing the scene of the worst mass shooting in U.S. history.

Gunman Stephen Paddock, 64, died from what's believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police say Paddock started firing down on the crowd of 22,000 people at the concert from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino.
His motive for the horrendous attack is being investigated by police and federal authorities.

It took police 72 minutes to zero in on Paddock's hotel room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino across the street from the festival.
They say he had cameras set up in the hallway so he would know when authorities arrived.

Paddock continued to fight even as police breached his room - firing through the front door at officers. But by the time the SWAT team finally made it into the room, Paddock had killed himself.

He lived in 27 residences in Nevada, Florida and Texas as an adult, but other than that he had apparently lived a quiet and unremarkable life.
The retired accountant had worked as an internal auditor at Lockheed Martin for three years in the late 1980s, and was a manager and investor in apartment complexes located in Mesquite, Texas and California, which made him millions, his brother said, according to the Las Vegas Sun.

Local police said they had no run-ins with the man, not even traffic violations, and his brother described him as 'just a guy who lived in Mesquite who drove down and gambled in Las Vegas and... liked burritos'.

An unfortunate driver had his luxurious Rolls-Royce swallowed up by a sinkhole in northern China.

The driver claimed that an enormous pit appeared when he was about to start his car at a traffic junction on October 1.

''I was waiting for the green lights and the second I started the car, the road surface started to collapse.''

The driver was reported to suffer no injuries and the car was pulled up by a crane.

He also claimed that his Rolls-Royce Phantom had cost him about 5,000,000 yuan (£565,000).

Footage shows the luxurious car getting half stuck in the sinkhole, leaving its rear half hanging in the air.

Workers arrived shortly and hooked strapped around the car before a crane slowly hoisted it from the pit.The car did not seem to have significant damages on the surface.

Thousands of Muslims marched through London to protest against Isis and other Islamist terror groups this weekend.Victims of the terror group were remembered during the peaceful march on Sunday, which also marked the start of the religious festival Ashura. The march started in Hyde Park and ended in Trafalgar Square, with people of all ages carrying banners including ‘Muslims condemn terrorism’ and ‘180k imams have spoken against IS [Isis]’. The brother of aid worker David Haines, whose beheading by Jihadi John was posted online, spoke to the overwhelmingly Muslim crowd.

Mike Haines said: ‘It is important that we react in a positive way against these hate-mongers. I mourn my brother every day.

‘However he knew the risks of being a humanitarian worker. He and my family accepted those risks because he was doing important work, helping his fellow man regardless of creed, colour, race or religion.’ He added: ‘The callous murder of my brother, the bombing of a teenage concert in Manchester, the deplorable attack on a place of worship in Finsbury Park, the inexcusable name-calling of people based on their religion or colour – they all have one thing in common which is to incite hatred.’

Catriona Robertson, director of the Christian Muslim Forum, told The Daily Mail: ‘Today is an important day and this is an important procession. It is something that people from many different backgrounds can learn from.’ Ashura is the tenth day of Muharram in the Islamic calendar and marks the climax of the Remembrance of Muharram. The march is now an annual event which is becoming more popular every year.

The driver of a Nissan Rogue was reportedly the suspect of a shooting that took place earlier in the day. The Video above shows some of the dramatic 45-minute chase as it moved from surface streets downtown, onto multiple highways before ending up on I-75. The vehicle suffered a flat left front tire before the driver eventually pulled over on the side of the road and began running on the freeway.

The suspect was eventually apprehended, but not before attempting to elude police one last time by hurling himself on top of a Chrysler minivan. One officer followed the suspect on the roof of the vehicle, and tackled him to the ground where surrounding officers made the arrest.The police said it was the second time in the day that police were in involved in a chase with the suspect after he reportedly evaded arrest earlier that morning.  

The suspect was taken into custody and is expected to face attempted murder charges, according to the Detroit Free Press.
The victim is at a local hospital in gravely critical condition.She was hit in the head after an exchange of gunfire with a small caliber gun.

An Ohio Sheriff’s Office says a system that shoots GPS-tracking darts at vehicles has led to the arrest of a man who fled after pulling out a handgun during an encounter with a deputy.

The encounter occurred after the deputy saw the man,John Bartlett digging through a trash bin and asked him to leave.Instead,he allegedly pulled a gun on the officer and fled the scene.
However,the deputy’s cruiser had the Starchase launcher on its bumper,and the law enforcement agent was able to tag Bartlett’s vehicle with the GPS-equipped adhesive dart.

The man was arrested with police help after stop sticks were deployed to flatten tires on his car in northwest Ohio’s Lucas County.

The Sheriff’s Office says“This was the first time that this was the perfect case scenario and we are happy with the outcome we will mark this as a win because there was no serious injury or loss of life we did not crash any of our vehicles and there were no citizens of the suspect hurt,"

Starchase can mount to the front of a cruiser and uses compressed air to deploy.Officers can launch the adhesive dart from inside of their vehicle or use a handheld keyfob to do so remotely.In addition,the company behind Starchase also offers a handheld launcher.

6)Fuel Injectors
Both petrol and diesel engines have fuel injectors and it provides the right amount of fuel in internal combustion engines.

The generation of Chrysler PT Cruiser that smashed into a pole in Amsterdam had been rated as a risk to both drivers and passengers by experts.

Chest, upper and lower leg injuries, feet and knee injuries were all listed in the damning Euro NCAP report from 2002.

The report said: "Results from Euro NCAP’s frontal impact test showed that the driver risked chest, and upper and lower leg injuries.

The imbalance between the front and side test results is a concern to Euro NCAP.Neither the driver nor the passenger were well protected.

The three star rating from 2002, when the American-built car was released, was one of the worst of its era.

The five door MPV also scored badly for pedestrian safety, in the tests conducted on all new vehicles, with the bonnet regarded as "unforgiving".

Part of the reason the PT Cruiser scored worst than rivals was because it was designed for the US market where safety tests are different.

Aguero was riding in the taxi as a passenger when it collided with a post on the way home from a concert in Holland.

The 29-year-old Argentinian ace was saved by his seatbelt when the crash happened on the way back to the airport.

German car owner Markus Zahn left his flashy McLaren 650S Spider parked next to the animal's paddock in September last year, and returned to a rather unpleasant surprise.

The donkey,known as Vitus, had tried to take a bite out of the car's rear bumper, inflicting £26,000 worth of damage.

The animal apparently mistook the bright orange supercar for a giant carrot, but donkeys are known to have limited vision in differentiating colour.

Fortunately for the motorist, the McLaren dealer covered most of the repair bill,but Zahn was still left with an outstanding repair bill of just over £5,000 after his insurance company refused to pay, claiming he should have picked a better parking spot.

The fact that Zahn parked a car worth as much as a small house within arm's reach of a donkey's field does make you wonder who the real ass in this story is.

After taking the case to court,the owner of the donkey was asked to pay for the outstanding £5,000 repair bill.

The Jaguar's Driverless Range Rover which was unveiled recently is a car that can drive itself around a city and even respond to traffic could be on the roads in a matter of months.

The Range Rover Sport's space-age technology even lets it negotiate T-junctions and roundabouts and make way for approaching emergency vehicles.

It is part of a £20million Government-backed project designed to keep Britain in the forefront of driverless car design.

The Sport is one of a series of vehicles that was being demonstrated at the Horiba Mira testing ground in Nuneaton before going on to official road trials later this year and made available for purchase in a matter of months. .

It uses two cameras mounted at the front of the car to act as its eyes.GPS antenna on the roof help it locate itself.

Other technology includes a traffic light recognition system,T-junction crash avoidance and emergency vehicle alerts.

Road conditions,live traffic and parking availability can also be transmitted through the connected system that uses sophisticated wifi.

Jaguar Land Rover has already demonstrated Level 2 and Level 3 self-driving technologies, and its ultimate goal is Level 5, where a vehicle can perform all driving operations without a human in the cabin.For example,it should be able to drive itself to a remote parking location and back to pick-up passengers.

The manufacturer is also working on autonomous technologies for offroad driving,using sensors that scan the road and detect changes in terrain up to 16.4 feet (5 meters) ahead, adjusting the Terrain Response setting to cope with new challenges.

Jaguar Land Rover is developing a car technology which will shut or open sunroof, automatically close windows or turn on the heating by detecting the change in weather. Not just that,adjustments would be made with safety features of the cars like brakes, traction control and windscreen wiper settings as per the data received.

Jaguar Land Rover even goes so far as to say the cars will be able to predict the weather better than forecasters,by focusing on local conditions.

The weather forecasting system uses a suite of air pressure,humidity and light sensors to help its vehicles predict changes in conditions and adapt to them.

Cars equipped with the system could tweak the air conditioning if it finds the weather is getting warmer during a journey or increase the cabin temperature if it will get colder.

Safety features such as the braking system, traction control and windscreen wiper settings could also be automatically adjusted to ensure the vehicle can cope with the incoming weather.

The patent said: “The forecast may be a forecast of the likelihood of rain. 'The forecast may indicate there is a likelihood of one or more weather conditions, such as rain, within a predetermined period of time, such as five minutes,although it will be realised that other time periods may be used.”

The vehicle may then adapt to the local weather conditions.
In particular,it may close one or more windows,or close a roof of the vehicle in response to a forecast being indicative of rain.

The King of Saudi Arabia has issued a decree allowing women to drive,state media has said.

The order issued by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud,overturned a longstanding policy which had become a powerful symbol of oppression.The conservative kingdom is currently the only country where the act of women driving is forbidden.

The move was announced on television and also by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the royal decree mandating the creation of a ministerial body to give advice on the practicalities of the edict within 30 days and a full implementation of the order by June 2018.

The royal decree will implement the provisions of traffic regulations,including the issuance of driving licences for men and women alike,” the state-run Saudi Press Agency said.

Saudi Arabia is a Muslim monarchy ruled according to Sharia law,with the royal decree stipulating that the new rules must “apply and adhere to the necessary Sharia standards”. State media said that the Council of Senior Religious Scholars,the country's highest religious authority that advises the King on religious matters had approved the permissibility of the decree.

Trump's comments drew sharp condemnation from some of the nation's top athletes with basketball star LeBron James calling the president a 'bum'.  
James also released a video on Saturday, saying Trump has tried to divide the country.

Trump started by announcing that NBA champion Stephen Curry, the two-time MVP for the Golden State Warriors, would not be welcome at the White House for the commemorative visit traditionally made by championship teams.

American football stars took a knee in defiance of Donald Trump at Wembley Stadium today after he said sportsmen who 'disrespect America' should be 'fired'. 

Players from both Jacksonville Jaguars and the Baltimore Ravens dropped to their knees as the national anthem was played prior to the match in London. 

No players were kneeling during the playing of 'God Save The Queen', which followed the Star Spangled Banner. 

They did so after President Trump had stoked tensions by saying NFL players who protested during the national anthem should be sacked by their team. 

At a rally on Friday night the president said: 'Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, 'Get that son of a bi*ch off the field right now... he is fired.' 

He was referring to a controversial string of protests started by player Colin Kaepernick last year when he sat or kneeled during the anthem to highlight the treatment of black Americans. 

Players on both teams and Jaguars owner Shad Khan, who were not kneeling, remained locked arm-in-arm throughout the playing of the national anthem and 'God Save The Queen'. 

Khan, who also owns Championship football club Fulham, has previously donated one million US dollars to Trump's presidential inauguration. 

At a rally in Alabama on Friday night, Trump had delivered a scathing attack on NFL players who opt to kneel in protest when the Star-Spangled Banner is played prior to matches.

He claimed team owners should sack any player involved in such a demonstration and that fans should leave the stadium if they see it.

There was a fiery response from the NFL to Trump's controversial comments.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell released a statement saying 'divisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect'. 

The NFL Players' Association said Trump had crossed a line by effectively telling players to just 'shut up and play'.

Association president Eric Winston said Trump's comments were 'a slap in the face to the civil rights heroes of the past and present'. 

Some NFL players have kneeled or raised a fist during the national anthem to protest against police brutality towards black people.

This has included high-profile players such as Colin Kaepernick, Michael Bennett and Marshawn Lynch.    

Kaepernick, who remains unemployed despite leading a team to the Super Bowl at the end of the 2012 season, was the first to protest over perceived racial injustice and police brutality.

On Saturday night, the Oakland Athletics' Bruce Maxwell became the first Major League Baseball player to kneel in protest during the national anthem.

The Bugatti Chiron reached 249 mph from 0 in 32.6 seconds and covered 1.6 miles in the process.
Once the brakes were applied the car came to a halt in 9.3 seconds and 491 meters.

The car maker released a video where the record-setting Chiron was being tracked at speeds exceeding 350 km/h (217 mph).
