Police officers have impounded a plastic penis after a car driver under the influence of drugs tried to use it to cheat on a urine test.

The remarkable incident happened on Wednesday in Kaiserslautern, a city in the South-Western German state of Rhineland-Palatinate.

Police officers spotted a 26-year-old man using his mobile phone while he was driving.

When the cops pulled the man over, they noticed him behaving oddly and realised he might be under the influence of drugs.

They took the man for a drugs test to a police station where he was told to give a urine sample, under police supervision.

The officer became suspicious when he saw that the urine sample was unusually clear and odourless.

When investigated, it turned out that the man was wearing a strap-on plastic penis filled with water as he tried to fool the cops.

When confronted with his cheating, the driver admitted having consumed cannabis and amphetamines.

Police officers decided to take a blood test to confirm the man's confession and launched preliminary proceedings.

The penis-wearing offender, who has not been named, is not he first to try and cheat a drugs test, using such a method.
But such an elaborate cheat may not be possible in the future.

Last month it was revealed that a new fingertip test will be able to show if someone has taken cocaine.

In recent trials, researchers at the University of Surrey were able to detect whether the drug has been taken up to 24 hours later due to tell-tale chemical traces that remain on fingers even after washing them.

It proved 99% effective at detecting cocaine use among patients in trials.

The incident isn't the first time a dummy dong has been used to try to fool a drug test.

A GYM fanatic claimed he stripped naked and touched a woman’s ­bottom in the ladies’ changing rooms after protein shakes left him “confused”.

He claimed to have been “disorientated” after taking testosterone and downing protein supplements before wandering naked into women's changing room

Sean Bigby, 35, crept up behind a swimmer and brushed against her buttocks as she went to wash her hands in a leisure centre locker room.

The victim had seen the dad of two wander naked into the room minutes earlier and assumed he had made an embarrassing mistake.

But after he touched her she told a lifeguard and Bigby was identified from CCTV footage.

He told police he had been “confused and disorientated” after taking testosterone and downing protein supplements at the gym after his workout.

Bigby, of Hackney, East London, pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey to sexual assault.

Judge Karim Khalil gave him an 11-month community order and told him to pay £1,200 prosecution costs and £750 compensation to the victim.

The judge also imposed a restraining order and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order which bars Bigby from returning to the leisure centre in Stoke Newington and from contacting the victim for five years.

Alexander Taylor-Camara, def­ending, said the assault was out of character and came as Bigby was taking “medication to support his gym activity”.

He added: ‘The mixture he was taking may have combined not to make his mental state the best. He told me he wasn’t aware initially of the woman and, having become aware, then brushed past her.”

Judge Khalil said the interviewing police officer had been “unimpressed” by Bigby’s story.

Holden on Friday rolled its last Commodore off the assembly line, ending almost 70 years of vehicle production in Australia and more than 50 at its Elizabeth facilities in Adelaide's north.

Its demise as a car maker follows similar shutdowns by Mitsubishi in 2008, Ford last year and Toyota earlier this month, with the local industry succumbing to changing market conditions and global economic pressures.

Lack of demand, the high Australian dollar and increasing costs led to the demise of the car making business Down Under.

Aussie buyers also turned to fuel-efficient small cars and SUVs away from big hulking pick-ups and saloons.

And homegrown SUVs proved unpopular, customers instead preferring imported Toyotas, Fords, Hyundais and Mazdas.

Holden was better known for its high-powered saloons with the Commodore shipped to the UK and sold as the Vauxhall VXR8.

Holden,owned by General Motors will now move production of its global cars to Germany.

Some workers will stay on in Aussie design studios while the 200-strong dealer network will remain.

But the demise has left thousands hunting for new jobs with the Aussie government investing in building army boats and submarines to help boost the local economy.

A modified BMW made from recycled parts and costing just £10,000 to build has smashed the Guinness Book of World Records title for longest range of an electric vehicle.

The old 3 Series completed 1,600kms (994 miles) at the Auto Club Speedway of California this week on a single charge to break the record.

Comparing it with other electric vehicles,a Tesla has a range of around 300 miles and costs upwards of £50,000 while the cheaper Nissan Leaf will give you around 100 miles before you need to plug it in.

Guiness World Record adjudicator Michael Empric was on hand for the attempt and confirmed it had broken the previous record of 1,298kms (806 miles) made in Japan in 2013.

Dubbed The Phoenix, the car is the brainchild of recycling pioneer Eric Lundgren and was upgraded with 90 per cent recycled parts.
Lundgren founded ITAP,a hybrid recycling plant which re-uses electronic waste.Rather than destroy binned electronics, they extract any reusable parts and put them into new products.Clients include Nintendo, Motorola, Dell and Panasonic.

A spokesman for ITAP said:

"The purpose of The Phoenix is to showcase Hybrid Recycling, and demonstrate to the world the amazing possibilities and potential derived from electronic waste recycling."

A man who suffered with a painful erection for an entire week was forced to have half his penis amputated after doctors discovered an aggressive cancer.

The unnamed patient, 52, waited a full seven days before he visited his doctor , where he explained that his erection began without any sexual stimulation whatsoever.

He told medical professionals that his penis hurt so much it felt like it was "about to explode".

Doctor Wang Hung-jen, head of Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital's Urology Department, said the patient's constantly erect penis was caused by late-stage bladder cancer, which had metastasised and caused tumours to obstruct blood vessels in his penis.

A check-up three years ago had actually revealed early stages of the cancer , Doctor Wang noted, saying that he advised the man to have his bladder surgically removed.

He added: "

But the patient refused because he didn't want to wear a urine bag for the rest of his life."

Wang and a team of surgeons operated on the man and cut into his penis and bladder in order to relieve some of the pressure build-up causing the pain.

However, they found the tumours had spread too far and in the end had no choice but to remove half of the patient's penis.

The man, from Kaohsiung City in south-western Taiwan, is now recovering from the operation but will begin courses of chemotherapy as early as possible.

Wang has advised visiting one's doctor if experiencing an erection that lasts over four hours, saying that a 72-hour erection could cause permanent damage and result in lifelong erectile dysfunction.

On whether his patient was likely ever to have sex again, Wang said: "

He isn't married and didn't request an evaluation of potential sexual function.
"Right now the priority is to save his life."

A blazing Tesla has sparked electric car safety fears after firefighters battled to extinguish the inferno.

The Model S was engulfed in flames after its 19-year-old driver crashed into a concrete barrier in Austria.

And fire crews struggled to put out the billowing flames caused by the lithium-ion batteries.

Since lithium batteries are used,Tesla recommends that the vehicle be parked under “quarantine” for 48 hours, so that no new fire can break out.

While the Tesla performed as it should by containing the fire just in the battery compartment,the video highlights the potential dangers of millions of electric cars flooding the highways and the prospect of an uncontrollable blaze breaking out.

A new patent granted to Amazon details a system that would allow a drone to dock into electronic vehicles that are either moving or stationary in order to charge them.

The futuristic tech would fly to your electric car and lock on giving you some much needed battery power to get home.

This tech is inspired by the drone that features on Ryan Gosling's motor in the new sci-fi blockbuster,the Blade Runner 2049 that detaches itself and scans for lifeforms.

The Amazon patent means you wouldn't have to stop to plug in as drivers will be able to summon a drone to their car while they're driving along to give them some much needed juice.

Amazon would then scramble an available drone to your location to help you out and stop your car from running out of power on the motorway.

The designs show a UAV with connectors that can plug into a docking station on the car roof.Clever vehicle identification tech would stop the drone attaching itself to the wrong car.

The drone would have a range of around 30 miles from its base,weigh less than 45kg and reach heights of almost two miles before dropping down onto cars.It could also use sensors to identify hazards and potential obstacles such as trees.

And Amazon hasn't even ruled out the drones being used to fill up motors with petrol or diesel and not just electricity.

While Amazon's drone charging patent has been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, it is unclear what drone technology the mechanism will rely on,if the patent is ever put to use. 

However, given that Amazon is developing its PrimeAir drone delivery service(technology to deliver parcels to back gardens), it's possible that the vehicle charging drone technology could be based on this. 

This tech could help solve one of the biggest obstacles to electric car ownership like the charging network and having to spend hours plugged in.

Persela Lamongan goalkeeper Choirul Huda has died after suffering head and neck injuries in a Liga 1 match on Sunday.

The Indonesian goalkeeper was involved in a collision with teammate Ramon Rodrigues and onrushing Semen Padang striker Marcel Sacramento when he came off his line to challenge for the ball shortly before half-time.

Huda went down clutching his face and was rushed from the Surajaya Stadium in Sidorejo, in Lamongan, to hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

The keeper was still conscious immediately after the incident, holding his cheeks and looking dazed on the floor, but the situation soon became critical.

'He was still conscious and complained of pain in the chest,' one member of the medical team told Surya. 'Then he fell unconscious.'

Medics tended to Huda after the collision and rushed to put him on a stretcher before he was driven away in an ambulance to the Regional General Hospital in Lamongan.

Dr Zaki Mubarok, of the Lamongan General Hospital, said: 'He was just brought to the hospital still breathing, but he was lifeless at around 17:00.

'Through our analysis, it was due to collision in the head and neck.'

Persela paid tribute to the 38-year-old, who had spent his whole career at the club, on social media, describing him on Twitter as "the Real Legend of Persela."

Huda joined Persela in 1999 and had made more than 500 appearances for the club.

Tesla is no stranger to voluntary recalls.The company issued notices to 90,000 Model S sedan owners for possible seatbelt defects back in 2015, another for 2,700 Model X SUVs in 2016 for a third-row seat problem, and one for 53,000 S and Model X SUV earlier this year over potential parking brake issues.It's the price of doing business,and better that the company jumps ahead with a voluntary recall than a legally mandated one after tragedy.
Now the automaker issued another for about 11,000 Model X's SUVs released last year,this time for the second-row seats.

The electric car maker emailed Tesla customers on Thursday regarding the recall, stating that "a small number of cables in the second row fold-flat seats" may need to be adjusted. The recall affects Model X SUVs built between October 28, 2016 and September 1, 2017.

The issue was traced to a latch that could cause the seat on the left side of the second row to fall forward in the event of an crash.
The Palo Alto, California-based automaker says it has seen no reports of injuries from the issue, which was discovered during internal testing.

'Model X has received the highest rating in every category and subcategory in independent safety tests conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and we continue to conduct our own internal testing to ensure that Model X remains the safest SUV in the world.'

Tesla said it can make the adjustment using its mobile service vans so that customers don't have to take the SUV into a service center,which takes just 10 minutes to fix.

"Until then, there is no issue with continuing to drive your Model X," Tesla wrote in the email. "We just ask that you temporarily avoid having two adults sit in the second row left and center seating positions at the same time."

The jilted girlfriend of a hot-shot Wall Street banker made sure the money man got exactly what he deserved after she drove his Mercedes into a pool following their breakup. 

Russian-born model Kristina Kuchma, 24, wanted to send a message loud and clear to her now ex-boyfriend, business executive Guy Gentile, that she was not happy how things turned out between the two. 

Kuchma, who claims Gentile promised to finance her own business, became furious over the weekend when the New York high frequency trading expert broke off their relationship while vacationing in the Bahamas.

Lier!' Kuchma texted him in broken English soon after cutting ties, according to The New York Post.    

'You told me you will help me to start a business! That were your words! Now you want to be an investor.Well investor I have a surprise for you on a backyard, start with that investment idea first.'

Gentile, 41, who became an FBI informant to escape federal charges after getting caught in a Wall Street pump-and-dump scheme in 2007, came home to find his Mercedes S400 parked inside the pool.

The base price for a 2017 Mercedes S400 is listed just over $100,000. 

'My heart dropped because of [fears she was inside]. I didn't care about the car at that moment,' he said. 

'But after I realized she wasn't in it, then I start to get pissed off that she would pull something like this after everything I've done for her.

'I dumped her. She dumped my car.'

A request for comment by the Post was not returned by Kuchma.

According to Gentile, the two were supposed to have a casual dinner together at a local restaurant. 

That is until Kuchma announced that she was 'pregnant,' but not with a child, as Gentile came to find out, but 'with an idea.'

Apparently bit with the entrepreneurial bug, Kuchma pitched Gentile an idea to start a marketing business. All she would need is a gift of $50,000, according to the banker. 

'I said, 'You know what? You got the wrong guy,' Gentile told the Post. 

'If you want a guy who's going to hand you money for nothing, you got the wrong guy,' and promptly ended their year-and-a-half long relationship. 

Evidently, Kuchma didn't take to kindly to the news, throwing a cup of hot green tea in his face. 

'It was really disrespectful to do that at a restaurant I dine at a lot in front of a good friend of mine,' he lamented. 

The Russian model then stormed off, but not before swiping the keys to his ride.

According to the Post, police were called to the scene of the incident, while a crew spent a little over four hours getting the vehicle out of the water. 

'I really loved this girl and would have married her,' he said, 'but she went too far!'

At one point the vervet monkey, clearly aware of the asset's value, scares away a rival who dares to challenge it for the precious patty.  

Peter Koen, 37, had been snorkeling at Cape Vidal in the iSimangaliso Wetlands Park, South Africa, when a troop of vervet monkeys swarmed around his car.

Hungry, Peter grabbed a burger from a nearby stand and placed it on the dash board to answer his phone.

Suddenly, one of the baby monkeys caught a glimpse, and dashed straight for the food, only to find that it was behind a glass screen.

Bemused, the monkey started to tap the glass, and even became aggressive when a larger vervet came to see what all the commotion was.

Peter, who lives in St Lucia, South Africa, said: 'When I got back to the car my phone rang and so I put the burger down on the most convenient place which was on the dash of the car.

I watched the monkey debate with himself but he then dashed over to the bonnet of the car and tried to snatch it.

'His bemusement with only knocking his knuckles against the see-through window was classic.

'I then started filming his endeavor to get to the burger or even just have a taste.

'It was really funny to watch and I am happy I had my camera with me.'
