https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyMPuGPmUpE THIS is the alarming moment a firewalker in India stumbled on burning coals and fell face-first into the extremely hot pit. Heart-stopping footage shows her stumble and fall during a Hindu firewalking ceremony held in honour of a goddess. She was halfway through the dangerous walk when she tripped on her Sari and plunged into the roasting floor. Luckily people watching in the crowd reacted quickly and pulled her from the burning coals. According to the New York Post, she suffered only minor burns. The ritual of walking on fire is known as Thimithi which is celebrated as an international Hindu festival in October and November. The firewalker prays to God for their wish to be fulfilled by the Goddess Draupati Amman, who was the wife of the five Pandava brothers in the Mahābhārata epic. In the epic after the Pandava royal family was victorious over the Kauravas, Draupadi walked on fire to prove her adherence to righteous living. Firewalking is mainly practised by southern Indians in India, Singapore, Malaysia and Sri Lanka. Credits: thesun.co.uk/news/4772427/india-firewalker-stunt-falls-burning-coals/, nypost.com/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i98gHkWn6m8 Honda has a new motorcycle that can stand upright with or without a rider, using technology the firm learned from developing a walking humanoid. Unveiled Wednesday at the Tokyo Motor Show, Honda’s Riding Assist-e is an all-electric concept model that constantly assesses its position and moves the handlebar to ensure the vehicle stays upright. Honda's self balancing motorbike can even ride itself and follow its owner to a parking space. Honda says it hopes it could cut down of the number of low speed accidents where owners drop their bikes For years, international bike manufacturers have experimented with various forms of gyroscopes to prevent motorcycles from falling over, said Hiroyuki Nakata, the engineer behind the idea. “But if you wanted to keep something as heavy as a motorcycle standing, you need a large and heavy gyroscopic device and you need to keep turning it,” he saidHonda’s device, however, is only the size of a lamp and can be rigged above the front wheel. With the system turned off, the motorcycle topples over when the rider takes his hands from it. But when it is flipped on, the bike stays stock still as if in a magic show, even when the rider walks away from it.However, the firm has not said when the bike will enter production. https://autojosh.com/honda-unveils-self-balancing-motorbike-prevent-riders-falling/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 |

CCTV appears to shows one man distracting the elderly victim while his accomplice swipes her wallet. As her back is turned the thief dives into her bag and spends around eight seconds rooting around before pulling out the purse. She is distracted by a bald man with glasses talking to her about groceries in Oswestry, Shrops. The brazen thief checks the contents of the wallet before pocketing it and walking off. Police are hunting the suspects, who were described as Eastern European and in their 40s, the Shropshire Star reports. Hundreds of pounds have been raised for the elderly victim since the footage was released by West Mercia Police and shared on Facebook. Amanda Williams launched the crowdfunding page after the footage made her "mad". She told the Shropshire Star: "I was watching the video and it really upset me as this could have been a family member of mine, it could be anyone's mum or nan. "Everyone was commenting on how bad it was on Facebook so I just decided I wanted to do something to help." Scores of people have taken to social media to share the footage which has been viewed more than 300,000 times. Rita Lamey wrote: "This poor lady is even chatting to one of these disgusting b******* and this makes me cry both with anger and shame." One man is said to have short hair and was wearing a blue jacket while the other was bald with glasses and wearing a black jacket. “We want to make sure we are positioning ourselves for the future,”I hope the Nigerian government and the major oil marketers can learn from this article and from SHELL A government that has no plan for stable power supply for its citizens, definately has no plan for electric cars Cc Lalasticlala Mynd44 |
Shell is opening a first wave of electric vehicle charging points at its UK petrol stations, as it prepares for shift away from petrol and diesel Drivers will be able to recharge 80% of their battery in half an hour at forecourts in London, Surrey and Derby from this week, with a total of 10 service stations to be equipped with rapid chargers by the end of the year. The move marks the Shell’s first step into the UK electric car sector and comes days after the Anglo-Dutch oil company bought NewMotion, a Dutch firm with 30,000 private charging points at homes and offices in Europe. Shell said the forays into charging were spurred by the swift growth in battery-powered cars, which now number more than 115,000 in the UK, up from almost zero a decade ago. “There’s no doubt the electric vehicle market is developing fast. And we want to offer customers choice: it doesn’t really matter what kind of vehicle they’re driving, we want them to drive into a Shell station, refuel in whatever capacity the fuel is,”said Jane Lindsay-Green, UK future fuels manager at Shell. The NewMotion acquisition and service station charging points could prove an important hedge by big oil against the impact of electric cars, which experts said this week would cause petrol demand to peak by 2030. “We want to make sure we are positioning ourselves for the future,”said Lindsay-Green, who described the two schemes as complementary. Shell acknowledged it was taking baby steps into the market, with just 10 out of its 1,000 fuelling stations in the UK adding charging points to begin with. With rapid electric charging points typically costing $30,000-$50,000 (£22,700-£38,000) each, the 10 electric charging stations mark a minuscule fraction of the $25bn Shell spends on oil each year. https://autojosh.com/shell-opens-world-first-electric-vehicle-charging-points-uk-petrol-stations/ Credits :https://www.theguardian.com/business/2017/oct/18/shell-to-open-electric-vehicle-charging-points-at-uk-petrol-stations |

Normal vehicle maintenance is very common for every vehicle, but sometimes things can be neglected for too long or even just go bad. While some auto repair and scheduled maintenance can be affordable for most, there are a few car problems that are not worth fixing if they go bad. The following list will show the top culprits that are too expensive to get fixed. If you are having any of these problems in your current vehicle, it may be time to start looking for a new vehicle.1)A Bent Frame If your vehicle has been in an accident and its frame gets bent, it’s time to let it go.The more the damage, the lesser the chances that the frame can come back to shape. Anything less than perfect can prove to be hazardous for your safety. Cars are engineered keeping your safety in mind. if the bend is beyond the crumple zone (meant to protect the car in case of heavy impact) a bent frame can compromise that very aim. 2)Blown Up Head Gasket When the gasket that separates the head of the engine from the block breaks, you are in for a lot of expenditure, so much so, that you’d rather buy a new car. The reason is that when this gasket gets blown, antifreeze/coolant and engine oil mix together, causing clouds of smoke to come out while you drive. With time, the mileage will drop even below miserable. 3)Bad Transmission Transmission is as important as the engine is. So, if either goes, your car is likely to give up too. The cost to have it repaired could be more than you’re willing to spend, and still may not work as efficiently. It is, in fact, one of the major car problems that are not worth fixing. 4)Electrical Problems/Glitches Yes,electrical problems may sound very normal at first, but the more modern your car is, the trickier and more expensive it is to fix. So it may be time for you to let your car go and move on to a newer model. 5)Rust On Your Car It can be expensive and difficult to repair a rusted out piece of your vehicle so it’s not worth fixing if you are experiencing this problem.Either you’ll just have to live with it, or start looking for a newer car that has no rust. https://autojosh.com/top-5-expensive-car-problems-not-worth-fixing-go-bad/ |
