austinkenneth: Those that sold yesterday got it right and are in pole position to control future JIJOs within this month.
(1) They sell the bid, the price starts crashing (full offer) for days....This played out yesterday (2) you panic and sell 10-20% below the price they sold.....This is playing out today. (3) they come back to repurchase at lower prices (afterall the fundamentals of the company is OK, and they believe in the company more than you,but if they can get lower prices, why not?) (4) they are done with repurchasing, price starts to increase due to their action. (5) You bite yourself, I bought and then it crashed, I sold and then it rose. Something is wrong with me. I'm operating under a curse... etc..... (6) You jump in again with others like you---> Full bid and they sell on you (7) The cycle continues. Some in virtous cylcle. Some in vicious cycle.
By the end of the game, wealth would have been re-allocated. Some will be on top while other will be below.
Wealth would have been not necessarily created nor destroyed but transfered from one person to another.
Remember the transfer from one person to another is not 100% efficient just like energy (brokerage fees, brokers smiling to the bank)
My advice is: If you have a fundamentally sound stock and you missed participating step 1 above as the seller, do not partake in step 2. That may lead to vicious cycle. Take a chill pill and re-join the game only from step 3 or 4.
*Modified again* You just proof the theory of buy the news and sell the..... |

skedman: i am not supporting the governor for stealing the treasury but the fact that he has invested it in nigeria however,it is a plus. All these half baked graduate on nairaland employment opportunities is not just the staffs alone it include the contractors that built the hotel who may have more than 50 staffs, the sand suppliers, borehole, aluminium, and lots more and when the hotel is finally ready the diesel suppliers, fish, turkey, chicken suppliers , the market people at large ,apprentice and many others will benefit . Can you now tell me the jobs it must have created for the people . I think most of you are lazy and your brain is only limited to being a staff and not a supplier nor a contractor. The $3million is being spent on building a 100-room hotel in Lagos, Why can't the governor do this investment in his state and provide jobs for his is people. |

feelamong: http://thenationonlineng.net/oando-take-port-harcourt-refinery/
The Federal Government has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nigeria’s largest indigenous energy group, Oando Plc to manage the Port Harcourt Refinery under a repair, operate and mainteain (ROM) arrangement.
Chief executive officer, Oando Plc, Mr. Wale Tinubu at a presentation on the underlying facts of the group’s operations at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) yesterday in Lagos, said the group has received approval of the government to oversee the Port Harcourt Refinery.
“We also got approval from the President to repair, operate and maintain the Port-Harcourt refinery together with our partner Agip. We plan to increase the refinery capacity from 30 per cent to a 100 per cent, subsequently to 120 per cent,” Tinubu said. So where will the money for the repair be coming from. More Loans, Right issue, or Government Grant. |

You didn't offend anyone. That's the difference between blue Chip stocks and penny stocks Did you notice that even with the bad dividend Stanbic is suddenly moving up. Most of this bank are cleaning their books.
After Stanbic suspension was lifted on the books the stock started moving. Watch out for FIRST BANK, after house cleaning, the stock will take-off. |

austinkenneth: After the delisting, the conversion factor from Ashaka to Lafarge shares will 57 of Lafarge for 202 of Ashaka plus N4 for very new Lafarge share.
If Lafarge is N46, Ashaka should be around N13. The two should move in tandem. Lafarge started moving before Ashaka thats the reason for the interest in it. But Lafarge rights issue has blunted the interest. I thought that was done last year. Why is Ashaka still listed in the floor. |

pluto09: They have all been mentioned at a point by members on this forum. Ashaka cement which I later found out might be delisted from NSE anytime from now. Hence I have removed it from the list. Others are; CCNN Presco and Okomu. And just like somebody observed, price appreciation on these stocks might be slow but they represent great value at the current price in my own opinion. We must also put it at the back of our mind that these type of stocks might not give the best returns in a bullish market.
And lastly, everyone should do his own dd as this is not a recommendation to buy. This is why I was sceptical about Ashaka cement, i was expecting immediate delisting after their movement to Larafage last year. But the company is suddenly experiencing a bullish run. Some Wolfs of NSE are simply dumping weak/dead company on investors. |
