Mcy56: Lasaco Assurance has been consistent with dividend payment for the past few years now. A stock selling for 25k as at now paid 5k to shareholders for YE 2018. Plan for Private Placement to 'strategic/selected investors' at 1.20k per share is ongoing. Watching this one. Time will tell.
Caveat: Not monkey hunting, just trying to get more details about it. Interesting. |

locodemy: Good plan for you.I once had this your kind investment decision but now I need a strategy that will wipe off my losses.I really had a hard time this year and really need to use this time to balance myself again.
Everyone here on zenith issue is right based on your investment horizon.
Make una good nite........ Maybe you need to properly categorize your stock. Some stocks will give 100%+ capital appreciation within short time, but zero dividends. While some will give you a good dividend with no capital appreciation. Stocks trends differ from each other. |

locodemy: Are you still expecting 2.50k dividend from zenith bank after The Tb rate is down?
Do you know banks have cycling period? Probably 10 years another leader pops up. Think of that massive offload from that key holder and get an interpretation.
Zenith is still a good bank but I don't see it touching #30 as predicted by the gurus. The billions of units offloaded so far are in the hands of impatient retail investors who are always ready to sell.
Higher % of Stocks with huge Os are better hold by the board of directors/corporate organizations.
Do you know any of the buyers of those zenith shares offloaded so far? Zenith can still pay N2.50 dividends, Tbills isn't thier only revenue source. I don't Want Zenith touching #30. Good dividends yields is okay for me. I don't JIJO with Zenith and GTB, the lower the price the better for me. |

locodemy: The guy enjoying good dividends in billions don begin abandon you and thereby making the free float shares more volatile.
Just take a good time and make a good research on why a profitable stock should be on sale for weeks/volume.
Access bank will beat zenith Bank in this coming financial year result.Quote me. If Access beat Zenith, can Access pay N2 dividend? If Access is selling at N20 what will be her dividends yield? Zenith currenlty got the highest dividends yields on NSE. Just looking at GTB vs Stanbic . When it time for dividends, I will buy GTB before thinking about Stanbic. |

aspiring44: Very true . its only condoms that has 0 duty . that does not mean you won't pay some other component of taxes
Very funny abi
Constant delays at the port rest squarely on the custom . if they Dont release from the system is a big problem and they Dont care about demurrage , but by the time you stand your ground that you have done your own part by paying correct duty or you petition the service that is when they know you are serious. Other agencies can also frustrate you the likes of NAFDAC, NDLEA, SON, CIU, Enforcement, FOU .
FOU , they can frustrate the hell out of you when you must have paid the actual , they will stop you just to extort you , but if you are not in a hurry without minding demurrage charges it will be worth the while . All those agencies also wants to make money from innocent importers. The Nigerian Factor for You. |

aspiring44: There is online system in place for duty payment already . The era of 40 :60 , 60: 40 which brought in corruption on a large scale.has been defeated and a new system is in place whereby once you make your payment it reflect in NCS Custom payment portal instantly
Unfortunately , the sharp practices benefits the custom officers too because they have what is called alert block , inspection act, valuation alert , CPC alert , PCA alert . All these alert are put in place to check mate a fraudulent act by any agent ,but by the time agent grease their palms with cash they remove those alert and it becomes a problem by the time a vehicle is driven out since the car is cleared out of the port.
So , both the agent and customs are always in good marriage of convenience.
Surprisingly , importers of vehicles does not always want to pay the exact duty that is valued . They will price it to the last kobo . hence agent try to behave funny to short change , but the importer should be carried along
The customs also explore the loop holes and connived with the clearing agent
Lastly , when an importer pays full duty , the customs also find fault with it that is not the actual duty paid. Have once paid a duty of N86,000,000.00 . they still argued is not enough.
Practically , all hand must be on deck to tackle the sharp practices Apt. That high Duty and constant delay at the port is the why neighboring countries ports are attracting Nigerians. |

Nigeria’s capital market investors are not happy with the e-dividend mandate which was imposed by the market’s regulator, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Some of the frustrated shareholders have described the process as “a scam”. Why their grievance? According to the shareholders, the e-dividend process is difficult, therefore making it extremely impossible for them to claim their dividends. Note that dividends valued at N126.03 billion are currently unclaimed because of the so-called “difficult” process. [READ MORE: Fidson’s shareholders approve N225 million dividend payment] A shareholder, Mrs Olabisi Deji-Folutile, told reporters that the process is not as easy as the Securities and Exchange Commission had made it seem. According to her, she has been unable to receive any dividends despite completing the registration eight months ago. “I went through my stockbroker and they told me they were going to process it through the registrars, but I have not heard anything from them. “We need to know what is happening to our unclaimed dividends. I have shares in First Bank, Access Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank, NPF Microfinance Bank, among others, but no dividends. They say maybe we have issues. But I was not told I have any issue. I provided all the documents needed. They need to tell us what is going on or what else we need to provide to receive our dividends.” Other investors have shared similar experiences. Mr Olalekan Oregbesan even alleged that it is the registrars that make it difficult due to their extremely strenuous verification processes. In reaction to this, the Institute of Market Registrars argued that the identification/verification process is necessary for obvious reasons. In the meantime, Mary Uduk, SEC’s acting Director-General, recently disclosed that dividends that are not claimed by shareholders within fifteen months would be returned to companies. The unclaimed dividends could then be plowed back into such companies, thereby facilitating their operations and ultimately increasing shareholders’ prospects of making more money in the future. https://nairametrics.com/2019/10/25/secs-e-dividend-mandate/ |

NimrodEndOfDays: Satan is not your enemy but an angel who tempts and test. if you notice in the bible especially the old testament, Satan was mentioned only once. and that was in the book of job. no where else. CHRISTIANITY MAGNIFIED the concept of an adversary with God. please dont be deceived by all these talk of JESUS is white and Satan is black. the Jews who are the original owners of the bible hardly ever talk about Satan. he is inconsequential in their worship of God. The white man has deceived you people for long and you continue to fall for his antics and gimmicks. and dont forget that there are other angels too. i dont even want to start quoting scriptures because you might get confused. There are so many things that are done in CHRISTIANITY that has no scriptural backing. Mr Freeze is very correct but there are instances were he didn't state the facts but that is for you to figure out. Satan was mentioned more than once it the Old testament. Read the book of JOB, PSALMS,Zechariah, 1 Chronicles 21:1. Satan is the fallen lucifer. |
