I lodge at new worlds inn in Lagos island. They hv very bad service. Them no gree gv me chop by 4am. Saying I shuld wait till 7am (My village people dn dy communicate with them). I left the hotel saying man must not leave by bread alone. Arrived the embassy by 4am. I was told to wait dat I came too early. I was the first to reach the embassy. I waited till paulinus came and started to arrange the sits for the documents arrangement. I didn’t want to be the first in the line (make paulinus no use me shine). So I told odas to be in front so I was the 6th person. My turn reached and I arranged my documents according to paulinus instructions.

I entered the waiting room, room normal 2,3,4 were available. Then when it reached my turn. The light in room 1 came on. So I entered the room

I met a nice young lady.
VO: what course ?
Me: Information and communication engineering
VO: MSc or bsc
Me: Msc
VO: School name
Me: Beuth University
She then told me to sign what she printed out and be sure it’s correct
VO: pick up the fone
Me: yes ma
VO: why do you want to study this course?
Me: I come they tell am story
VO: don’t tell me stories just go straight to the point
Me: I come they gave am the points
VO: why germany
Me: low tuition blahblah etc
VO: why not us uk and Canada
Me: high tuition fees etc
VO: why not Nigeria ?
Me: It’s not practically oriented etc
VO: facts about Germany
Me: told her some facts
VO: what are your plans after your Msc ?
Me: will go for Phd then return to Nigeria to work


Then she told me to go that they will reach out to me tru email.

The interview didn’t last up to 20mins. I came out b4 odas that entered room 2,3 and 4

Your comment shows you didn’t consult Daad.de atall. There are many electrical engineering courses taught in English. Try to search well. Lemme give you some Universities to check:

1: TH deggendorf
2: University of Applied sciences Darmstadt
3: KIT
4: Beuth University
5: University of Kassel
6: OTH Regensburg
7: RWTH Aachen University
8: university of Rostock
9: Revensburg weintergen university of Applied sciences
10: Paderborn University

Next time try to search harder. Remember Electrical Engineering can come in different names.

Embedded systems, IT, Power Engineering, Microsystems, Communication Engineering are all under electrical engineering. Even if you study a course named Electrical Engineering, you will be required to specialize in one of these options I mentioned above.

Passau University, Anhalt University, bamberg University, Beuth University, University of Bremen, city University and many odas accept up to 2.7 GPA. You just have to search. Make Google your best Girlfriend. When I was applying, I practically searched for all the Universities in Germany. I checked more than 30 University website all cus my GPA wasn’t good enough. Right now I know all Universities in Germany, it’s now asif have been there b4 ...I applied to more than 10 schools. Both tru uni-assist and tru normal Applications. I got rejections from almost 10 Universities. It was very frustrating. I decided to apply to UK schools to see if my village people are really hunting me. I got about 3 admissions in Uk and also in Austria. I wanted to use them as my backup plan Incase Germany no gree gv me admission. To my utmost surprise I later got admission into two different schools. So my point is don’t give up, no matter how poor ur BSc result dy.

I got admission with 2.7 German gpa... So you chance but it will be difficult. Don’t lose hope

One copy of motivational letter shuld be handwritten then you make two photocopy of it. Yes you can go for interview with your part funding.

Try to apply to Non restricted courses. It will be easier for you to get admitted unless u hv a very good GPA den u can go for restricted courses

Moreover, canada is a country of different provinces. Each province with its own law. Even after learning in province A, u might not be able to work in province B.

I know of someone in Bonn who did masters in environmental science, very fluent in german language, yet he is working in "MONEY GRAM".... This is the reason I said if ur intended course of study does not ve prospect here, think twice. 50% of what you read here on nairaland are virtual stuffs, the reality can only be decipher by you alone when you get here....

It is possible cos I ve come to learn of someone who got intenship placement in the USA...... So, wat u should do is look for ppl already studying your programm in same school. They are in the best positin to answer that question. Again, let me advice Those who are willing to listen. If your intended course does not have prospect in germany and you are not from a rich family ( this surely will make it difficult to even migrate to anoda country like the USA/canada) please think twice.......

You said internship not direct work. Internship is a form of learning and also working. You also said USA not CANADA. Canada policy is different. A lady studied accounting in Nigeria then migrated to Canada. She couldn’t get a job related to her course of study. Only secretary jobs. So She had to go back to school in Canada and start from year 1 just to work there.

Exactly my plan bro. It will be difficult to get work in Canada without studying there first. They mostly give jobs to those that study in their country. So the best thing to do is to apply for PhD in Canada after you are done with Msc in Germany.

I think it’s about 450...I didn’t buy from them since they don’t have the plastic WAEC scratch card. I decided to use the normal print out I got from a cyber cafe

I went to WAEC office to buy scratch card for visa interview but they said they no longer sell the plastic card but a small paper which contains the PIN. Please how true is this ? And for those that have gone for the interview. Which type of WAEC card did you use ?

Bro someone with 2.9 got admitted into TUM. That is why I said in my previous post that he should apply for courses that are unrestricted (ie don’t have any GPA requirement) Do your research more, u will understand what am saying

Yes it’s possible to get admitted into MSc program with your 2.37 GPA. Your GPA according to German scale is 2.9 (keep in mind that 1.0 is the highest possible grade in Germany and 4.0 means failure. Unlike In Nigeria where 5.0 means 1st class and 1.00 means failure). So bro you have a chance. You just have to find the right school to apply to and make sure that the course you are applying to won’t be restricted. I will also advice that you apply for Bsc too as you are applying for Msc, just Incase things doesn’t work out. Wish you the best
