Ucheosefoh: The op provide a 2010 link u see nothing wrong with it but a 2012 link is a lie to u. I wonder how far some piple can go to ridicule others.

The least you can do is post GDP figures for 2012 so we can compare

See scanty shopping mall

I've never seen any picture of the mall with massive shoppers even on a Saturday and I've been to the mall on a weekend

This mall in Enugu is the one with low sales, no shoppers, no patronage

You bet it will close ten times over before a section of Shoprite in Ibadan shuts down

kettykin: Bare faced liars whose Oyo state which eventhough in their imaginary GDP ranking is number 4 But could not sustain a shopping mall like shoprite, they now think enugu state with a very fast growing international airport well placed tourist destination and well above average standard of living is now the poorest state in Nigeria.
For those who probably don't know enugu has the 3 highest standard of living just below Abuja and Rivers state

And who says that Shoprite isn't planning to open another outlet following impressive sales?

KFC has opened two outlets already in Ibadan and has none yet in the SE

The SW has the least unemployment rate and its no wonder they keep trooping in daily to flee from the stark poverty ravaging towns and villages built on what is left of eroded barren land

People who brandish pictures on this forum never cease to amaze me

Aren't there neighborhoods in Lagos that are prettier than some areas in New York?

Does that make Lagos richer than New York?

I can decide to post pictures selectively. Enugu is one of the smallest and the poorest, not only in GDP but in per capita

Does anyone know anybody earning six figures who works with this business centre called Slut Slok?

It's only typical of people in those parts to brandish pictures they take with seemingly important people as a proof of their associations with them

Do you know how many presidents and Fortune 500 company CEOs Adenuga, Otedola, Adedoyin, Okoya, Ade-Ojo, Otudeko and even Aliko have met? Yet they haven't created photo albums

When he made his first billions while not a governor, Otedola, and others were still in diapers.

Oya tell me what Slok is really about?

Government patronage in shipping isn't it?

His airline is dead, his newspaper is struggling and he has properties that aren't inhabited

So tell me how he survives without government patronage and the loot he made away with from Abacha days

According to Forbes list he is # 4. And he does not take bank loan or get govt patronage like Otedola/Dangote. So who the crap is Subomi Balogun? You Yorubas always think Nigeria begins and ends in Lagos. Ignorant olodos

After looting Abia State dry and passing the baton to another looter

Where and what was Slok before he became governor?

Now he's oppressing you with the same money he excavated (not scooped) and you're here applauding him

Controversy: Igbo have been surviving with out FG

If you look at what the SE states have been contributing to the centre versus what they've been getting, you will realize that the SE states have been profiting from the FG alongside the North. Only the SS and SW states have been making loses comparing their contribution to the centre to what they get from it

@Ijaw Citizen, I quite agree with you and the Itshekiri have strong historical ties with the Yorubas as well as the Edos. However, should there be a referendum to define our future, both tribes may choose to be with the Yorubas or the ND. However, I know that the Yorubas are ingenuous, sophisticated and highly progressive and can hold their own. What you're seeing today in the SW states with the little autonomy the states have, is like what the Western Region witnessed under Awolowo and co. We have what it takes and we can make it happen

slimyem: Stop pondering nonsense. Its coincidental. Death is a price everyone has to pay and the timing...no one can tell.

I'm not wishing death for him or anyone

Just that everyone must realize that no one knows when and should live a life of service especially if people have entrusted you to make this happen for them

By God's grace, Mimiko will live long and I wish him well as long as he's led the people of the state justly to the best of his ability

Bwahahahahahaha

So what did Chime go to the UK with? Ghana money? Call Tinubu whatever you want, since 1999 when thus democratic era begun, the SW has moved the furthest and developed the most with the likes of Tinubu. When he became governor, Lagos was barely generating N600m per month. Today, its almost N30bn. Ogun under 2 yrs has grown its IGR from N730m to over N4bn per month

We aren't complaining so why are you taking insulin for another man's diabetes?

Very correct

And the Design Group, led by Ayotunde Sanni has been around even before independence

The SW was slowed down by successive military regimes

We could have been even ahead of SA today, going by the our GDP then and the pace of our development then

Thankfully we are steadily and surely getting back on track now

70% of the news you hear from the SW these days is about development.

20% is about Bianca

The remaining 10% is about crime out of which 80% are committed by the usual suspects

Crime / Re: 'I Bought Fake Naira Notes From Alaba Market' by obitwo: 1:14pm On Sep 10, 2013
[b]It's these people again

More than 80% of all crimes in the SW

Less than 10% of Lagos GDP from their commercial activities

Now we can clearly see where the money is coming from since criminal acts like these dont show up in GDP computations

What this means is that there are some criminals in Alaba Market who front behind plamsa TVs to print money and may not make a sale of up to 100k in a month but claim to be millionaires from crimes

The market should be thoroughly scrutinized because I believe for every N1,000 made in sales, another N100,000 is made through crime

The sooner a Baba Oloja is installed, the better, to scrutinize the activities of the miscreants who claim to be electronics dealers

There's one of them in my estate who claims to be into construction but sits at home all day, I've never seen a building pickup or anything like it come to his house, no sign of him practicing the simplest form of building and yet he says he does construction jobs for the FG in Lagos and Abuja

I believe a lot of these guys hide behind the front of car dealer, spare parts dealer, electronics dealer, importer/exporter, oil and gas magnate etc to perpetrate their heinous crimes
