morning Chief, please why's my charge controller reading the battery voltage different from the inverter reading of the same battery ?

Multimeter reading of battery at the terminals of battery also different from both the inverter and charge controller, please any explanation for this?

They all different by 2 units, multimeter would measure 13.6 while inverter 13.4 and charge controller 13.2.
Different degree of precision and tolerance

200+ phones is around 4000w oh.

Since you are using for business, you might end up spending up to 5m if you want to run it efficiently.

I will advise if possible maintain your gen(consider using biogas) and use solar if load is within a predetermined range.

How Can Nigeria’s Banks And Politicians Work Together To Promote Solar Power For Everyone?

Hi everyone,

Solar energy has the potential to transform Nigeria’s energy landscape, especially with our erratic power supply and high generator operational costs of petrol and diesel. However, adoption is still slow. I believe the government, banks, and solar companies need to collaborate more effectively.

For example, the government can provide tax breaks for solar projects, while banks can create low-interest solar loan schemes for individuals and businesses. With better political will and financial support, solar power can become affordable for most Nigerians.

What do you think? What role should politicians, banks, or private companies play in making solar energy widespread in Nigeria? Let’s discuss!
I think there is a tax wavier on solar panels already, what we need is more investments (although some companies has started providing loans for financing solar project, how the interest rates are not encouraging)

I think government should focus more on combating importation of finished solar products (this way, a lot of jobs are created, while monitoring the standard of products that goes into the market)

Drop a Break down your load..
Irrespective of your load, the cheapest package you can go for will cost you between 750-850k.

The package will include
a mppt controller, 100A lithium battery, a unit of solar (440w) ,wires installation etc.

Hello everyone,

I'm currently considering Jakson solar modules for a solar energy project and came across their product offerings on their website. I'm particularly interested in learning more about the key features and performance metrics of their solar panels.

Can anyone share their experience with Jakson's solar modules in terms of efficiency and durability?
What makes Jakson’s modules stand out compared to other brands available in the market?
Are there any specific maintenance requirements for these panels?
How do Jakson's products perform in varying weather conditions, especially in areas with extreme temperatures?

Please quick question: My solar panel (Jinko 555W Monofacial Solar Panel) has a Short Circuit Current (Isc) of 14.07A, panel's maximum fuse rating (30A), which would be connected in series. The Required breaker size would be 14.07A × 1.25 = 17.59A, meaning I would need a breaker with 20A, right?(connection from the panels to the breaker then inverter). I wanted to confirm if this calculation is correct ? installer said we would need 65a for the setup ?
What are his reasons?

Naim easy pass to install.

I personally feel onces the installation area I very high, smaller wattage should be used

HF inverter can be replaced in few hours for those in the city. And probably within 3 days for those in hinterland.
Who needs sachet inverter to remedy any situation?

With the way battery is improving, very soon all-in-one system, HF HV with built in battery will be the order of the day.
If you wear jeans trousers and can drop Benjamins, without grumbling definitely 1-3days will work.

If you wear Ankara with fila, satchet inverter is a very viable option.
PropertiesRe: Discussion - Seeking Technical / Vocational Schools For Home Builders by Obnoxious2001(m): 5:55pm On Nov 01, 2024
Hogwarthtrades:
Hi everyone,

Interest over the years has grown to see what the vocational side of our educational system can offer. Conversation with some home builders (sole proprietor) is indicating low turn out of reliable tradesmen or women to handle task.

The idea at this point is to seek out government owned or Private (Government approved) Technical /vocational schools that teach Masonry and other aspect of home building to prepare the student for employment.

The next step will be to evaluate how to make reasonable offer to the graduates or senior students (No room for child labour) for seasonal independent contractor jobs on a small scale with room for expansion and renegotiation as the project expand.

Reaching out to get pointers about technical schools where one can get masons/ home builders to employ. Either Government owned or Private (Government approved). The goal is to work with the Schools to have a pipeline of technical school to construction site jobs. This is pretty much at an infant stage. Suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to @obnoxxious2001 and @SKydivine that have offered suggestions. I look forward to hear from everyine and make this thread a source of information for those seeking this info.
Most of this school has courses they offer:
There are government technical colleges (GTC) (most are not properly managed now), Federal science and technical college (FSTC) and college of education technical (C.O.E.T).

Considering that you tend to teach the employ, I can tell you first hand that the syllabus is first hand(I still have my notes from technical school even though I have change path).

What needs to be improved is the practical part of learning. Then probably they can allow the lower class to attend more workshop practice on Saturday.

For the employment (I think internship should be a better approach) offer them when they have finished with stipends so that way those who have graduated before and currently can learn more on the field before the normal employment.

I'm yet to see a Nigerian who thinks that External CCs are waste of Time and Money in the present day Renewable Energy Systems.

Can your charge controller invert DC to AC when your separate Inverter becomes faulty?, Of what use exactly will your Charge controller be at the point in time?
Please answer sincerely. Except of course you want to tell us about how you can still power your DC gadgets. But outside this, please educate us further.
The seperate cc will make sure your batteries are charged, while a backup inverter can do the inverting pending when the main system comes up (satchet inverters can remedy this situation)

Dam5reey1:
Well, If you use Hybrid like Deye, Growatts and co, Failure rates are very low. Dont be carried away with all these Elcheapeax Hybrid flooding the market, also unprotected installation amongst budget installs and abuse.

4 years running Hybrid zero issue...
I have no problem with hf hybrid inverters, but you can not put the transformer based inverter at a disadvantage on the ground of efficiency no Na.

Idle current is not a big problem the way it is portrayed on this thread.

Calling big names inverters, deye and the Geng. This is Nigeria.

If you create a poll here to find out how many deye or whatever has been installed so far this year you will find out they are less than 200. This is because it's mostly enterprises that will/can easily pay for it

But once you call felicity, welion, sms even Sako whey just enter market, you get hear present tire grin grin grin grin
HeavenlyBang:
Baseless take. Na you wan spoil am? Pretty much every solar setup I've seen abroad uses a hybrid inverter, and not a transformer-based one. How come those inverters aren't dying every day.

Na so dem say carburetor better pass injectors back in the day.
Omo Yankee and Nigeria no be the same.
Just the same way Yankee dey run PV combiner box even for domestic use, for Nigeria here Na ahead ahead grin grin grin.

Besides @jonesco already gave a valid point why they use hybrid more (net metering)

So with this few points of mine I hope I have been able to entertain you while educating the forum.
Thank you and God bless you
Shalom🙌🏾

Money for Felicity 120A MPPT reach to buy 3.5 KVA hybrid with 80A inbuilt normally.

At this point, there's pretty much no value in buying a standalone inverter.
Is when your hybrid inverters develop faults that you appreciate the stand alone.

Any little fault on hybrid inverter you are look at almost 100k on repair.
Besides you are left completely stranded if you don't have a redundancy plan.
(if you dey this ship go and make plans down storm is coming grin)

So if you do a comparative cost check, transformer based are cheaper over time

Dam5reey1:
Cable losses, connected device..

Stand alone Inverter is more expensive na. Unless you are not in market.
Cable lose is not a factor of Inverter but rather associated devices / application.

Even the HF inverter require you size the wires adequately.

I will still maintain my stand point, a lot of good product exists in the market, but no body is willing to use their money to test them.

So test brand/names make more money onces they cross the threshold.
