One of the problems we have in this country is the judiciary.Given judgements without proper looking at the evidence before it.Same evidence presented at the high court is what is presented at the appeal court yet they will pass contradicting judgements. Its a shame to our learned colleagues. High court sack him, appeal court restates him. Also, i Anambra State, high court sack a candidate, appeal court restates him.........Are the courts now struggling for superiority. The judiciary needs should wake up so that our politicians don't rubbish them |
The Governor of Rivers State should apply political wisdom and maturity in handling the present political situation in Rivers State. When Women(in black attire)protested against the police commissioner they were received by the State Government and they were term "concerned women of state". When women (in white attire) protested in support of the police commissioner they were term "jobless women who were paid. When Youths protested they were term "ex-militants, militants, touts". As such the state government accused the Police CP for allowing "hoodlums" to invade the state. Now before this time, the police cp do not stop any one for protesting in the state as long as it is peaceful Even the protest of the youths which were called touts and militants was very peaceful. It is based on this accusation against the CP that he decided that there should be no more protest match again because any protest match in favour of the government is accepted and anyone against the government they will say it is the CP, President that is sponsoring them. When the CP made that pronoucement, the state government welcomed it because at least no group will make a protest match against the state government. Little did they know, they themselves will want to protest. "those who make the law want to break the law".funny. Again, they the state government and those not really inform say that the minister of state of education, Chief Wike is the one troubling the state; only because he has refuse to be rubber stamp to the governor as he did four years ago. Four years ago,Chief Wike was the Chief of staff government house, he was an errand man to the governor doing all the good and bad deals, taking up political opponent, seizing houses and revoking the C of O of this houses once it is learnt that the house was used by opposition to hold meeting. The police CP was intimidating political opponents, so called touts were used to intimidate voters on election days.Hmmmmm....all this happened in Rivers State Now no more rubber stamp and their is crisis. Dear nairalanders, let us analysis this issues with wisdom. As long as i am concern Rivers State is peaceful as against the call by some politicians saying the state is not peaceful |
Here is a young Nigerian that sings like Toni Braxton.View the video and you will enjoy it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5XyKY6zUXw |

Ptimes: http://premiumtimesng.com/news/136919-breaking-appeal-court-judge-withdraws-from-al-mustaphas-case-citing-personal-reasons.htmlThis case has taken too long.If the Nigerian judiciary can not bring this case to a logical conclusion then they should ask for external assistance from Judges outside the country, otherwise they should let the man go. |
My brother, this is the kind of country we have. When the government institutions do not favour them they say their is foul play but when it favours them they will scream it is the last hope for the common man. Do onto other as you will want other do onto you-Golden RULE Dracula27%: |
I will urge we all (learned nairalanders) not to be fooled by some of this politicians. And i also wonder why we keep pointing fingers to Mr. President over Gov. Ameachi issues when he is the one causing problems for himself.Lets look at the facts; 1.Gov. Ameachi is a member of PDP who has sworn to abide by the party constitution and rules. So, if his party says this is our new exco why not accept the exco and write to your party authority concerning the personalities that made up the exco instead of going on air saying you do not accept the excos.Which means you don't want to obey your party. 2.An elected LGA Chairman and entire legislature of a council was suspended without fair hearing. When the State lawmakers were asked why, they said their is a petition of corruption against the LGA Chairman. If there is a petition did you give the accused(chairman) fair hearing before suspending him. What has the law makers got to do with the petition against the LGA Chairman? And why the sudden setting up of a caretaker committee to run the affairs of the council when you have council head of administration to manager the council pending the call back of the LGA Chairman as stipulated by law. 3.My dear compatriots, Mr President can not impeach Gov Ameachi with just 5 lawmaker. The impeachment of a elected office holder is by 2/3 majority. come to think of it why has the state law makers not resumed sitting when they did not go on recess. There are more to this that meet the eyes. |
Surprise to hear about Multilink introducing new product. They should concentrate in improving their services with the products they already have instead of introducing new ones just to rip Nigerian populace. |
try MTN HYNET they have unlimited plan and their service is ok |
The body language of Mr President shows weakness.Setting up a committee to look into those with questionable character is a waste of time and money. All he needs is to revoke the national award given to those with questionable character. Some of them have been tried, prosecuted, jailed, release and moving as ex-convict with our award. What a country?? |
Its unfortunate that Starcomms is like this.In Port Harcourt, Starcomms network is frustrating and disappointing. They use to be the best but now they are the worst. |
Its quite unfortunate it is happening to Nigerians. We all remember "Ghana must go", Ghanian went home looked at themselves and told themselves the truth by saying we can make things happen in our country.Today things are happening in Ghana that is why the children of the rich now go to Ghana to school, our big men go to Ghana to spend vacation and so on. Let us face the truth,Ghana has a favourable environment for business, education, leisure etc. Let us make our country better the way we want it and stop complain what Ghanians are doing to us. |
"Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free". Until we tell ourselves the truth we will continue to carry last and think we are carrying first. Our population should be our strength.Government should provide steady power, fight corruption in this sector, hold people accountable; then you will see improvement in the broadband (internet services) |
Please mukina2 where did you get this picture. The lady on the picture is not Uche Jombo.Try and clearify you facts before posting them so you don't mislead other nairalanders. |
The Holy Bible says "When you know the truth, the truth shall set you free". Nigeria is in this mess because we are shying away from the truth.Only the truth will save Nigeria. How can a country that is well bless with human and natural resources says she is broke. That is a fat lie!We need to sit down together as a country and tell ourselves the truth.Until we do that i have aligned my self with the school of though that says Nigeria is a failed state. |
what is the breaking news all about? When this men will be having there elections few weeks from now. One of the problems we have in this country is the judiciary. They are never consistent with there laws.A court will pass a judgement another will counter and so on,prolonging issues. Now a court have said the governors were staying illegally at the government house. Will they refund their salaries, allowances since they collected all this illegally. The judiciary needs a serious reform so cases can be treated urgently and justice done. |
Fellow Niger Delta youths, please don't be blindfolded by the on going strike by labour union.Jona is our bros and we all voted for him because we believe he can transform the nation. Look at the future and not today. Jona is wants to open the oil sector so that we from the Niger Delta can also begin to benefit from the sector. For how long are we going to be playing second fidal when our Northern brothers owes all the vessels, tank farms, fuel trucks even in our land. Let us think beyond today. The president is not wicked but mean well for everyone especial those of us from the Niger Delta. Why did Labour not strike against the National Assembly who has refuse to pass the petroleum industry bill(a bill that will compel oil companies to employ more indigines)? Why did Labour not strike when Northerners are killing Southerner? why did Labour not strike that all the security chiefs should be changed for failing to secure us? why did Labour not strike when some states refuse to pay their workers minimum wage? why did Labour not strike when EFCC said it is the judiciary that is slowing the process of prosecuting corrupt leaders? Fellow brothers, Let us think and act wisely |
We should not allow sentiment to becloud our sense of reasoning. Before Jonathan becoming the President their has been corruption and weak institutions the in country. We all gave him our vote because we trust his judgement,so let us trust his decisions now. Pengassan/Nupeng are part of the corrupt bodies in the oil industry. What have they done to ensure they eliminate corruption in their domain. Is it not their members that conspire with fuel importer to inflate numbers of vessel brought into the country? Now they are not happy their illegal monies has been cut off. Charity they say begin at home.Labour and TUC should help the government in fighting corruption in this sector instead of going on stike for their selfish aims.Uncle Joe welldone for taken this bold decision |
The judiciary is a disgrace in this country. They are just making things difficult for EFCC. If not how they grant him bail based on the appeal that he is sick. When he was stealing the money for 8 yrs he was not sick. Now can you imagine he is sick. I dey laugh oooo |
The president should be supported to achieve his transformation agenda. If today the leadership of the country has decided to change strategies in moving this country forward, then we should support them. After all, for over twenty years the leadership of this country has been using strong hand, force, aggressiveness etc. yet Nigeria has not moved forward. We are classified as one of the poorest nation and so on. It is time to change tactics and move the country forward. What we need is a leader that is sincere and not a leader that uses force, aggressive or weak . Let us not be sentimental and myopic in our reasoning. |
I have gone to there office they reconfigured my modem and told me their engineers have finished working. That i should go and start enjoying my modem. After i left their office till now i have not enjoyed anything.Infact its like the engineers did not do any work because no signal. |
solar2005 are you in PH.I used to be a proud customer of starcomms but for the past i month,i can not say i am proud of them.I renewed my subscription on the 12th of august. On the 13th they had a network problem and up till now they can not fix it.Instead they sent me a txt msg to come and renew my subscription when i haven't used the one i pay for.I have called customer care, gone to their office yet all the say is ''we are sorry''. Pls beware of them |
Sentex, i am also having the same experience in my area(Borikiri, Port Harcourt) for the past one month. When i ever i called them, they will send me an sms issue resolved but it is never resolved. Its like starcomms is dying and they don't know what is wrong with them because they can not identify the problem. Presently, they are the most frustrating network in Borikiri,PH |
Change is the only permanent thing in life.If PHCN staffs does not want change they should resign and let good things happen.Maybe, they are happy we are having epileptic power supply. The president and the minister need to exercise their power on this issues because group of people can not hold the power sector hostage. |
Simeonwal stop creating panic in the minds of internet users. Test running of IPv6 does not mean their will be no internet services. |
It has to do with their coverage in your area.Go to their office and inquire if your area is covered by there network.Starcomms use to be the best in Port Harcourt but now they are getting worst by the day.Looking for a better alternative here in Port Harcourt.I just wish swift 4g is here |
