I assure you a counter protest against the movement won't work. We are glad it to lime light early enough, plans are underway to make it as futile as possible.

#Nigeria must be liberated
The counter protest is sponsored. That is not sustainable.

Even if you're benefitting from this present disgrace of a government at least you should learn to stfu at times instead of ending up sounding stvpid. Just listen to yourself at the bold.

I don't understand

What's the agenda behind these protests?

Protesting against policing of the Nigerian people

I am in shock.
Nobody is protesting against policing Nigerians. End SARS oppression is not same thing as end Nigeria Police. It is not same as end 'Anti,-kidnapping'. It is not same as 'end IRT'. It is not same as 'end Mopol' it is not same as 'Anti Terrorism Squad, ATS'. It is not same as 'end EFCC'. All these exists and having been fighting crimes. Ask yourself why SARs?

Does Nigeria have enough men in the police to fight all the youth in the country simultaneously? Do they have enough facilities to detain everyone? Hmmm.

Am not in total support of this end SARS.. I believe reforming it is better cos Their demise will cause more harm than good (thieves, kidnapers etc would be happy) .. Also if the NPF end SARS ,remember another Intelligent Department would be created by th NPF and na this same bad eggs officer go full am and continue with their bad behaviors. ... I expect people to bash and abuse me but this is my opinion and we are all free to air our opinions rather than attacking /being abusive..
There are other tactical teams in the police force which are equally capable of combating crime. Some of their activities in fighting crimes are credited to SARs. The IRT led by ABBA Kyari is doing a wonderful job. You have anti-kidnapping too. What the government should do is quickly embark on immediate audit of the activities of SARs. Request for petitions with evidences from people. They can dedicate a site or Twitter handle to this. Embark on internal audit of staff in the SARs unit. If possible scrap SARs and draft members into other tactical teams. Sack those that need to be sacked. Nobody is calling for end to police. What people are asking is for an end to SARS.

YOUTHS VS GOVERNMENT is the worst type of confrontation in the history of civilization.
This is not your regular government bodies like ASUU OR NLC vs The Government, this is the highly dreaded scenario (the youth uprising). Any country that experiences this type of confrontation always undergo major transformation.
Arab spring started this way (youth protest) which led to the death of Gaddafi.
French Revolution started this way.
Syrian war started this way.
What we are witnessing now is the natural course of event as Nigeria herself have lived below our expectations with no progress in sight. Revolution and big changes in Nigeria is underway
I saw this coming. Next thing is use of brutal force on the protesters. Then criminals will hijack it. Nigeria has many enemies both inside and outside. This includes many people in leadership positions.

#endsars# isn't the only reason for this uproar we are witnessing today!

An hungry man is also an angry man

This is just the beginning!!!

Why did the Federal government allowed it to get to this stagehuh

Is this Government governing from Jupiterhuh
This is why wise parents send their children school. ASUU is on strike. Over 1 million youths are roaming the streets without jobs. This is a ready army in the hands of enemies of state to cause havoc.

Buhari and his team are more concerned about who wins election in Ondo than this looming danger. After all their children don't attend public schools.

Call off ASUU strike and see how this noise will die down.
Education › Re: Dr Darty E. Darty Nailed It On ASUU Strike by obyrich(m): 2:44pm On Oct 10, 2020
Filosofa:
Darty Emmanuel,a lecturer at the University of Uyo wrote the following and I agree with him:

MY OPINION ON THE ASUU/FGN ISSUE

Mr President says get on the IPPIS platform or get nothing and for me, Mr President is right. ASUU should restrategize and get her priorities right. They can't be fighting for students, fighting for parents and fighting for themselves at the same time. The IPPIS is intended to check the excesses of Nigerian lecturers who work in 2 to 4 universities. I am a lecturer working in just one university so tell me, why should I be afraid of IPPIS?
FG wants to increase school fees, ASUU will go on strike to fight it. Why not allow them increase the school fees and let students from all over the country protest? The matter would just solve itself given its tendency to escalate into full blown violence. Given the recent happenings in the country, the probability of such protests relapsing into full scale violence is 100% and government would not want that. If you ask me, FG is even more afraid of students than lecturers.

If FG says work in only one university, then let all adjunct, contract and sabbatical lecturers withdraw their services and go to their domiciliary institutions. That way, the unclothedness of the many new universities the FGN has created without adequate lecturers will be exposed. The FG will either hire new hands urgently or the universities will be shut down. That matter too can resolve itself.

ASUU should stop agitating for better hostels for students. Students pay money for these services to the FG and they have a stronger ground to demand for what they paid for, not lecturers. ASUU keeps fighting for what they call "revitalization funds" (I don't know what that means if you ask me). My question is, does ASUU have any active supervision over how such monies are to be expended by Governing councils of universities or Vice chancellors, bursars and other big men in the university management? Will they sit at table when juicy contracts flowing from such funds will be given? The answer is No. So why do you decide to go hungry, your salaries withheld, subjecting your self and dependants to hardship over monies that will be expended without your inputs or any form of supervision whatsoever? Meanwhile those that will receive the alert when this money lands are still receiving their salaries. This whole drama doesn't make sense to me. ASUU should trim it's demands to member's welfare and stop carrying a scary baggage of demands around. It is a trade union for God's sake. Let's put away this hypocritical toga of altruism. Everybody's problem cannot be your problem unless you want to die before your time.
This is a reasonable argument. ASUU should streamline their agitation to issues that concern them directly as a trade union.

babaolofin:
You the IBOs are very parochial and sentimental in your thinking. Very absurd and most times irrational on matters that require objectivity. Firstly, Nigerians have no voting power and the eventual winner is determined by several factors only known to the clique that controls WTO.

Madam Ngozi was the finance minister and head of the economic team under Jonathan - the government that made the highest revenue in the history of Africa till date but without saving one kobo, but borrowed heavily and spent over $20 billion out of the reserve Obasanjo left. That is the greatest fraud in the history of Africa. Estimated $100 billion got wasted / looted under her watch.

The IBOs can never see anything bad in that fraud because it favours them. The Yorubas don't support evil and as such have nothing against Ngozi, otherwise, Obasanjo should have written to the board of WTO to drop her.

Kemi Olunloyo has written against prominent yoruba citizens based on information available to her, Sahara Reporters have done same. We have internal political, religious and socio - cultural dichotomy in yoruba land creating rooms for diverse opinions. This is missing in IBO land. Fela sang against Abiola (ITT) and Obasanjo, they were all from the same town and childhood friends, in IBO, anything against them is hatred for the entire IBO, no objectivity at all.
5 years into APC government, you are yet to prosecute Jonathan or Ngozi Okonjo Iweala over this monumental fraud. Is it cowardice or envy that is your problem?

You were chanting fraud as opposition party. You claimed Buhari will deal with fraudsters and jail everyone found culpable if elected. Nigerians elected APC and Buhari. 5 years down the line. You are still crying fraud up and down.

Why is it the duty of Yoruba media to attack any good thing coming the way of Igbos?

Bad Belle no good at all !!

Even when that Yoruba guy at the head of Afdb was accused of corruption, non of you came out to say he will not win a second term, yet he won at the end of the day.
All I see in this country is TRIBALISM .
It is so strong in Nigeria that I will conclude that TRIBALISM is worst than Racism.
This is why we complain about Yorubas being envious and devilish. When the AFDB man was battling corruption accusation,no known Igbo man came out to condemn or prophesy failure for him.

Since NOI got shortlisted as last 2 , these people have been restless. They forgot this is not a race for Nigerian presidency. Wicked pretenders. I fear who no fear Yoruba.

Tactical unit in the practical and ideal force setup are men with special training and equipment

Its appalling how they are been described in Nigeria and sometimes I do pass them ... They don't really bother me or even look my way but I see how untidy and derelict they look

Mind you, we all can't look like serious men and women, some ppl don't have my kind of wardrobe, home training or lifestyle, it dosent make them criminal

The fact that a criminal minded group adopted a particular appearance does not mean anyone who appears this is one of them.

I dress decent and look more like an officer but in certain env I am a target for embittered youth.

Police should base their job on proper police investigation and universal SOP, I wonder why their bosses have so much affluence and yet do little to improve the force. The rank n file looks like robbers, behave like robbers
The IGP is not doing his job well, if not we shouldnt be shouting fir him to know the attrocities of his men
Buhari should sack the IGP immediately. The man seems confused and bereft of ideas on how to police a democratic state.

I am have strong suspicion that many criminal activities in Nigeria are perpetrated by law enforcement officers. Many of these guys are the dreaded kidnappers and high profile assassins.

IG should call for immediate audit of his team.
