BombAttack: You are writing gibberish, Igbos will NEVER celebrate a known thieve or cocaine trafficker. Have you seen Igbos celebrating known political criminals in igboland? If Tinubu was Igbo, no Igbo will support him or vote him. Because he has bad records. You can't see Igbos defending a known criminal, NEVER.
kiako: So now I've opened the link. It's about yoruba elders meeting Jonathan to complain about marginalization ......
Wow, how does that sum up as the offence of the Igbo ?
Like seriously ? My dear brother, as we both can see it's almost going to be confirmed these were / are unprovoked stuff..... So far no point has been made to pick out the offence.
I'm not quarelling with you, neither am I interested in one. I just want us to have intelligent discussion atleast to inform ourselves : but then in totality, do you really take that as the offence of the Igbo ?
And yet on that basis you staying that you only just began ??
It's getting clearer there is no case.
However, go on with any which you can find .....
They introduced tribal bigotry to this forum. Whatever comment they would make on any topic, it would be made through their tribal prism. And what did we Yoruba do, we just siddon dey look.
What I meant by "just getting started" is that the era of siddon look is over. If they bring love, we reciprocate. And if it's hate, we return the favour too.
kiako: Note : this is for intelligent discussion and none should try to bring in bigotry here. This is only for information purposes and as such only if you got something in that line to add should you comment. Otherwise just keep scrolling ......make e no turn fight but just discussion
I want to be "informed" about something with regards to this yoruba / Igbo wannabe cold war. It is in the aepect of, what exactly is the offence of one to another.
I'll speak on both with regards my observation.
I've observed this yoruba unprovoked attempts to keep trying to attack Igbo. This thing has been for years not even in this 2023. But again I can't fantom why.
All I see is something of this nature where A only looks out, and sees B as weak or not as violent and then just take it as a duty to attack not because they were provoked but just display of vile. And in this case, like I said, I want to be "informed" on what would have been the issue / offence of the Igbo in that regard.
Initially, I've stated that this has been long before now hence it ain't a matter of this "no man's land" rhethoric and to even make it more surprisen that's what almost all yoruba is saying. And then if it were long said by Igbo when was it ? Any evidence ?
Since I can't find this that is why it looks even more obvious it's truly and unprovoked stuff - to go against whom is imaginatively seen as weak or so atleast in their thoughts.
To my Igbo people. It's okay for one to defend oneself. It's necessary Incase of issues.
But I'll like diplomacy to rule.
Generally, I believe strongly there should be a great potential if both tribes can look beyond the elite who is benefiting actually from this and see ahead of the possibility of a great thing that wouldn't only shake Africa but the world at large.
So guys, you can talk.
You've taken sides already. In your biased mind, you believed it is the Yoruba who are attacking the Igbos.
Just go through this thread below and observe objectively. Yoruba are just returning the favour. And we are just getting started.
Arrewa: Dear Igbos and Yorubas, you both are southerners and share a lot in common!!
This part Igbos and Yorubas are taking is very very dangerous. You these two tribe competing as the most educated tribes in Nigeria are nothing but primitives and unexposed people... Thinking that civilization is about putting on western dresses and speaking good English!!
I was thinking that tribal war between Igbos and Yorubas are just online banters and nothing serious, until 2023 election!!
Why will politics make humans living together for years in love and harmony suddenly Begin to attack each other both physically and emotionally over political opinion?
Fighting and hating for politicians you are likely not going to benefit from directly/ indirectly from??
We northerners are the biggest victims of southern Igbo tribal bigots.... We have lost hundreds of innocent souls whom most have no idea of the reason why they were attacked and killed...
Dear average Igbo, Yoruba and Northerners... We have a common enemy!!! Corruption is our common enemy!! Corrupt politicians are our common enemy!!
Underdevelopment is our common enemy that we must fight against!!! Corrupt religious leaders are our common enemies!!
For this county to develop... Humanity must come first before religious and political affiliation...
Let's keep tribal supremacy aside and prioritise Humanity and national/ personal development
Africans/ black must unite to move Africa to the right direction!!
Politics should remain and always remain a collective opinion not war!!!
Good. You made a valid point. But why would you generalize the whole south when you know the people directing tribalistic missiles at you.
I don't understand why the mod is hiding one of my comments on the first page with video interview of Chief Mokwe over the atrocities of Akwuzu SARS during Obi's tenure as governor of Anambra state.
If you like keep hiding my comments, I won't stop exposing the fraudster and pretender for what he is.
...Such was the mocking tone with which ZIK described an innocent football match with a slant of superiority complex.
But the same CKC team met the Olubadan XI, an undiluted Yoruba team in another 'Win the War' match on 24 August 1940 and were roundly defeated 3-2.
It may just be a matter of coincidence that ZIK wasn't in the mood to write at the time or perhaps he suffered what we call 'Writer's Block', because for more than 2 weeks, this headline event never got reported on the Pilot. And when the paper finally wrote on it, it was only a small item on the back page, like a mistress smuggled out of the window at the arrival of the madam of the house..and was laced with excuses,
"the CKC team was already tired; some of the players were in fact limping before the match",
and other calculated efforts to avoid giving the yoruba boys their well deserved accolade, and extreme energy was exerted in ensuring the brilliance and talent of those little yoruba boys was never acknowledged.
This was but tip of the Iceberg, ZIK would go full scale Bigotry afterwards.
Shall I Begin?
The Ibos were given inordinate publicity on the pages of the paper, which I regard as appropriate and in order, to promote one's root..but at a time when other Nationalists made concerted efforts in describing citizens of Nigeria as Nigerians or Africans and celebrated their laurels and feats as credits to Nigeria and Africa as a whole, ZIK would jettison the whole for the particular and elevate Ibo over and above every other tribe and largely over Nigeria as an entity, and in a manner that smirked Ego inspired Hate.
Typical Front Page news title in the Pilot this time were;
1. 'Ibo Young man Sail to U.K.' Sept 23, 1938. Referring to Mr. Jaja Wachukwu, who later became Speaker of Houe of Rep.
2. '14th West African Student, 10th Nigerian, 8th Ibo in U.S.A.' Jan 28, 1939. The 8th Ibo was Mr. Nwafor Orizu, later became Senator.
3. 'Ibo Medical Student Passes Exam in 1st Class Honours.' June 26, 1940. That was Dr. S.O. Eguwatu.
And some weird editorials like:
'The Ibo Are Coming' Dec 31, 1938, Wondered what ZIK meant, but the title is indicative enough of some theory of domination.
These are but very few examples of deliberate actions of ZIK in portraying the perceived supremacy of the Ibos over others, for the Pilot never beamed the light on the achievements of Nigerians of other ethnic stock...
For example, when the Ph.D. degree of London University, indeed any university for that matter, was conferred on the first Nigerian ever, such historic success was only given a small space in the paper and the title read: 'Nigerian Economist passes Ph.D. London', because that scholar was Dr. Fadipe, a Yoruba.
Ibrahimcoomasie: Early politicians of the 30s, 40s, Chiefs among them are mostly talented in writing and journalism and some owned media outfits, with which they laud and inflate their egos while simultaneously deflating d profile of those they disagree with in the political firmament.
Herbert Macaulay (A Yoruba man), the Father of Nigerian Nationalism, also a journalist was fond of calling dissenting voices 'imperialism agents' but ZIK took it to an elevated proportion, re-christened it to 'imperial stooges', 'Uncle Toms' and 'aunty Jememas', even those whose patriotism and Nationalism had never been in doubt were so named; minor disagreements and you are blacklisted. ZIK had a Newspaper outlet, 'the Pilot', a tool he creatively used to maximum advantage. The editors would daily eulogize him for d basics, and sometimes for the hitherto unknown and unheard of good things for Nigeria, nay, 'Mother Africa', Some of them acclaimed him as d 'Ghandi of Africa' and others declared that ZIK deeds had 'eleczik-ified' them.
ZIK was obviously very gifted, intelligent and clever which manifested in his works; however, he was regarded by many of his peers as the 1st consummate propagandist that Nigeria ever produced. In inflating his own ego or deflating that of his rivals, publications on the Pilot observed neither modesty nor reck. In this connection, he was in direct line of succession to Herbet Macaulay, but like all sons who are worthy of their parentage, in this respect, ZIK outdid Herbert Macaulay, for he took propaganda several notches higher with a slant of deep seated tribalism.
For example, when the ban on Palm Kernel was imposed, the Pilot supported it and reported thus: "the measure by the Government is fair. Instead of reducing the whole country to poverty, only the Western provinces will be affected and they can switch over to other avenues, to make body and soul live." He held similar stance as to the agitation against the 'Cocoa Pool'.
ZIK brazenly supported a policy which clearly threatened the livelihood of the Yorubas. Were the East on the receiving end here, ZIK would have dipped pen in gall, and crafted a creatively worded opinion on the Pilot, denouncing the Cocoa Pool as an 'imperialist device or stratagem whose aim, object and purpose was to oppress, repress, depress and distress Nigerian Cocoa producers and dealers economically' and he would have replicated same for d ban on palm kernels in d West. He would have labeled it 'a gross betrayal of trust, an indelible stain, blemish and stigma on British imperialism; a vain attempt, a complete misfire and a palpable boner in the realm of divide et impera.' Pardon my poor attempt at replicating ZIK's creative writing genius, he many a time used such strong words.
ZIK took this tribalist venom to higher Plateau when he graced the front page of the Pilot, and entitled it 'Football Iliad, 1940 Edition' what many described as a shocker, a big step forward in an insidious campaign colored in Bigotry. A football match between 2 schools, Christ the King's college, Onitsha was hosted by St. Gregory's college in Lagos, in a match tagged 'Win the War'.
The CKC team from Onitsha defeated St Gregory's team by 5 goals to 4. Spectators had a good watch, even the host considered the match very entertaining, a bonding moment for teams made up of teenagers of different cultures, that afterall is the spirit of sport.
But how did ZIK report it? ZIK saw in the sporting exploits and triumph of the team from Onitsha the inherent superiority of the Ibos over the Yorubas and he went to very great pains to establish this in d careful choice of words and emphasis..
"And then to think of the great combination of d Spartan heroes who crossed her loudly Niger, journeyed through the good earth of Benin, hurried across the domains of the Oshemawe of Ondo, of the Atanla of Owo, of the Owa of Ilesha, of the Ooni of Ife, of the Alake of Abeokuta in their invasion of these islands!
Who, but heroes of mighty brawn and exceptionally developed brain would have dared to make this invasion and to succeed in carrying to their River Niger home, the Golden fleece of Inter-Collegiate Soccer Championship of d Eastern and Western Provinces?"

JILF: Please do not tear your passport especially for those based overseas. 1. It costs money, time and stress to get your passport. Going to the Embassy is enough stress on its own 2. Family emergencies or death may come and you may need to come to Nigeria to bury or attend loved ones. 3. If you want to Japa? How you wan travel? 4. Your passport can be your only identity in a foreign country.
The Igbos are tearing their Ngerian passports over what transpired during the gubernatorial election in Lagos.
Did they tear their passports when Obi lost in the presidential election? No.
They decided to tear their passports over the state elections in Lagos that had only Yoruba candidates on the ballot.
They made it clear that their tearing of their Nigerian passports is over the outcome of the Lagos gubernatorial elections.
They did not tear their passports over the wanton killings by thugs in places like Anambra, Imo, Ebonyi, Enugu and Abia. The thuggery in the South East elections was of no concern to these diasporan Igbos rather it was that of Lagos, a Yoruba state and land.
Even the sit-at-home madness by IPOB terrorists in South East didn't made them tear their passports.
My Omoluabi people, let's wake up. These people have an evil agenda for Yoruba.
Ijoh: Yoruba was denied Presidency in 1983 Awolowo, Abiola was denied in 1993 and Asiwaju will be denied in 2023. Yoruba should avoid letter A as first letter in their name and the number 3 in the year if they want to become President.
It is not gainsaying that you guys just don't see nothing wrong with your attitudes and behaviours and will never take responsibility for your actions. Remember that for any action, there is equal and opposite reaction.
I thought you would be reflecting and charting a new course, instead it's more of gaslighting, cheap emotional blackmail and character assassination from you guys against the Yorubas. And while you're still at it, you're the one shouting as the victim.
How does your comment even relate to what we are discussing?
And now you're asking me a foolish question. It's like you have dyslexia. As usual, dishing out insults when you have nothing meaningful to contribute to the discussion. I will leave you to ponder on your mental health status and let the people be the judge.
lailo: Old man? But Joe Biden of America is a small boy? Old man who campaigned in all the 36 states including FCT before and during Primaries and real elections? Even your Mr fit did not cover as much campaign as he. I don't listen to propaganda, I have two eyes and a functional brain and don't need anybody to tell me who has more capacity. The majority have spoken, that tells u most of your propaganda didn't work. A sick old man who knows the way is better than a young man who lacks direction. Nigeria needs solution, not athletes. Peace
They will never admit their parochial views. I wonder how those guys reason. When Chioma vote for Chinedu, to them it's because of seeking good governance. But when Babatunde vote for Babajide, to them it's because of tribalism.
I don tire for their matter. They are the one doing something but they will be accusing others of doing it. They are experts at gaslighting.
Senator Shehu Sani while mocking those people's state, he forgot to realize that actions are judged by intentions.
Umar bin Al Khattab reported the Apostle of Allah (sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam) as saying “Actions are to be judged only by intentions and a man will have only what he intended."
