The implication of the comments on Peter Obi during his tenure is that South East will keep on witnessing bad governance from their political leaders because their people now have the believe that criticizing their leaders is tantamount to destroying their leaders' chances for contesting president in the future as with Peter Obi.
Most commenters on those threads are regretting ever criticizing Obi and have now miraculously became his supporters, pushing him to contest for presidency because of ethnic sentiments despite knowing fully well and witnessed it firsthand that Obi is grossly incompetent.

Their political leaders won't perform optimally since they now know that their people will never criticize them no matter how bad their governance is. Their people think that outsiders will use it against them in the nearest future when they want to contest for president.
