PoliticsRe: Jonathan Angry Over Leakage Of Patience's Illness by ochallo: 8:50pm On Sep 05, 2012
Techwriter: Yaraduas depreciating health and consequent death was a top secret and it angered Nigerians why it should be that Thuraya kept Jona from ascending the throne. Now it GEJ turn and he is towing the same route.
yaradua;s health was never a secret, right from the time he won the primaries, the health issues were brought up and when he appeared on tv with all sorts of blemishes on his face, it was an uncoverable secret.

PoliticsRe: FG Endorses N5000 Note Introduction by ochallo: 6:24am On Sep 05, 2012
taharqa: 3 Pages and not single person have put forward a single ECONOMIC reason why this is a bad move. You keep hearing abut the introduction causing inflation yet no DATA is presented to shore up the argument; in fact, the DATA both here in Nigeria and in more advanced Economies, show little or no correlation between Inflation and Currency Denomination. Most of the arguments(if you can actually call the opposition an argument) against the policy are just anti-intellectual- just unbridled expressions of EMOTION and FEAR, Period. Imagine some persons "arguing" that the introduction of #5, #10, #20 coins would mean that products sold for say #10 would sell for #50 cos "Nigerians do not like coins"(that the present notes and the proposed coins would run side-by-side till the transition is effected is lost on them ). We also have some persons "arguing" that products/services presently going for say #4500 would be rounded up to #5000 as there are no items selling for #9400, #460 and #60 presently.

...by the way, it is my opinion that the policy be suspended, not cos of any ECONOMIC reasons but STRATEGIC ones- this govt should know that it can not afford too much distractions on policies without much over-arching benefits so as to FOCUS on more IMPORTANT issues. Suspend the policy, FOCUS on other some other CRITICAL ones and reintroduce it later(maybe in 2014).
You have to understand that this is nigeria and things are not well documented but they are well felt. The usa has large denominations yet they are not introduced in the market. Why? For a government that was bent on a cashless policy to now introduce a higher currency then something is wrong somewhere, Nigerians cant really explain it, but they know it. All the countries that have deniminations higher than 1000 except korea also have very bad economies.and you are right of all things to do now, is it the 5000 note that is going to be the breath of fresh air?

PoliticsPresident Goodluck Jonathan Fasts All Days During Ramadan And Lent -REUBEN ABATI by ochallo(op): 5:13pm On Aug 26, 2012
President Goodluck Jonathan Fasts All Days During Ramadan And Lent. Here is a man who is an epitome of loyalty and simplicity. The thing about the President’s critics is that they just cannot accept that someone with his simplicity can be their President. This is the Saul Complex. Saul could not accept the fact that somebody as simple as David could be favoured by God. And just like Saul threw the spear at David out of uncontrollable jealousy, these critics are out to throw any kind of spear to see which hits the target, hence all their lies about the President. Let me end by saying that the President is a simple man but simplicity is not naivety. If simplicity were to be naivety, then the world would not be where it is today because it is simple men like Abraham Lincoln, Mahatma Gandhi, - Martin Luther King, and Kwame Nkrumah, who have shaped the world that we live in by simplifying what others have complicated. -REUBEN ABATI, Special Adviser (Media and Publicity) to President Jonathan.

Yeah, people like you are the ones who sit back and see how it goes until you are destroyed. Haven't you seen how the fuel subsidy went?, where you not in Nigeria when the N1000 note was introduced, from that time till now, how has inflation been? Nigeria has one of the highest inflation rates in the world at present and you are sitting down and seeing how it is going.

why not simply get a NIV bible instead of King James version. GO to bible gateway. com and check several versions.

2 Thessalonians 2:3
Contemporary English Version (CEV)
3 But don’t be fooled! People will rebel against God. Then before the Lord returns, the wicked[a] one who is doomed to be destroyed will appear.

Romans 11:25
Contemporary English Version (CEV)
The People of Israel Will Be Brought Back

25 My friends, I don’t want you Gentiles to be too proud of yourselves. So I will explain the mystery of what has happened to the people of Israel. Some of them have become stubborn, and they will stay like that until the complete number of you Gentiles has come in.
CrimeNigerian Man Jailed In South Africa For Armed Robbery by ochallo(op): 5:31pm On Aug 23, 2012
The South African authorities have jailed a Nigerian man, Ekene Chukwu popularly known as KC for partaking in a recent armed robbery operation that took place some six months ago in Cape Town, South Africa.

According to the information at the disposal of our Correspondent in South Africa, Ekene Chukwu, an indigene of Anambra State, Nigeria, was arrested in Dunoon two weeks ago by the police detectives placed to mount a surveillance on him after a tip off by one of his accomplices.

He was immediately taken to court today where he was sentenced to a six month imprisonment without an option of fine after pleading guilty to all the charges made against him.

According to South African Justice department, the accused person is not a first time offender and this was enough reason to imprison him without being given an option to pay a fine in lieu of his imprisonment.

The department further said that the accused person who got to South Africa in 2006 is a notorious criminal known to be selling hard drugs to people in Cape Town.

He was reportedly jailed for nine months a while ago for the possesion of hard drugs and he was asked to serve the jail term in Pollsmoor, the maximum prison where notorious criminals are kept in Cape Town.

According to the charge sheet obtained by our Correspondent, the police in the area had in January this year arrested a white man whose name is David but popularly known as Devil amongst his friends.

David who refused to mention the names of Ekene Chukwu and other accomplices of his that partook in the crime was charged for armed robbery and got a six month jail term in that same month of January, 2012..

The charge sheet further revealed that it was when David finished his jail term in the early days of August that he decided to tell the police that Ekene Chukwu was part of the crime that had landed him in jail for six months.

Asked by the police why he thought David also known as Devil decided to give him out to the police after spending his jail term, the Nigerian accused person, Ekene Chukwu said that David was furious when he did not meet his share of the loots they got from the operation.

He said that David was thinking that he would meet his share of the loot hence he decided not to mention his name in January as an accomplice in the dastardly crime.

During his arrest two weeks ago, Cape Town police found some hard drugs, guns that were possessed ilegally and a lot of stolen items.

Checks however revealed that Ekene Chukwu was arrested by South African immigration officials at the begining of this month for living in the country ilegally but was let off the hook by the police when they realised that he already has two kids and a wife in South Africa.

EducationRe: 2-Students Commit Suicide Over WAEC-Exam-Failure by ochallo: 4:35pm On Aug 23, 2012
talk true: Its a pity but waec need to be rebrand. They are really frustrating people.
I marked WAEC last year, but i couldnt this year because i was not in the country at that time. There is nothing wrong with WAEC, the questions are very standard and they improve them each year, that is the only reason while some Nigerians are able to do well in other countries, when they go. The level of education and seriousness in Nigeria is what is falling, and waec is making their exams stricter. The level of Education in Nigeria is really terrible. last year when i marked , the highest in the maths theory was 29 % from a northern centre, and it was even very obvious that they all copied , yet they still scored very low. They are obviously going to get F9 parallel in that centre. one even wrote a letter to the marker and complained that the reason they could not answer the questions is because they had a very long break.

We have no power to prevent ourselves being born: but we can rectify this error - for it is sometimes an error.

-Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900)

I don't think suicide is so terrible; in fact, I find it quite vital. Everybody should choose life every day. Some rainy winter Sundays when there's a little boredom, you should always carry a gun -- not to shoot yourself, but to know exactly that you're always making a choice. It's a small cure against anguish, and if the cure fails and you kill and free yourself, it's okay because the world is overpopulated anyway.

Studying abroad has a advantage depending on where they are going and what they are studying. if you can help, then dont withhold it, especially if that relative has a focus.

Everybody is just hinging their personal failures on Nigeria's corruption.
I wonder how india and russia got to where they are, seeing as they are more corrupt than Nigeria.
CORRUPTION IS NOT AN EXCUSE.!
I dont really think india is more corrupt than Nigeria. Nigeria has hypocrisy and corruption together, the other countries just corruption.
