I was recently reading an article of one hit wonders in America and then i started trying to figure out one hit wonders in Nigeria, that has just one hit and nothing again was heard of them and i can't seem to remember any , even thought i know there are so many of them. let's list them here. |
when the opening credit lasts for ten minutes and things like transport, catering services and even phone numbers come up on screen. when desmond eliot screams while he is playing angry when nkiru sylavanus cries when genevieve kisses someone |
@poster this is obviously a lie, the illiteracy rate is high quite alright but not the highest in the world, you should go to India and see illiterates. |
please what is the difference between, diaspora and best nigerian/ african living abroad. Some of the categories are so stupid anyway. the less the awards given, the more power and respect the whole awards garner. i also dont see why there should be a separate category for children, if the child is so good, he should be nominated with the actors. the most stupid award of all has to be " best promising actor" what is the criteria for this, how is somebody promising, how many films most you have acted to be promising, are the other actors that have been nominated for lead roles no longer promising because they are now big stars. so hilarious, i guess we can never do anything in Nigeria without trying to put the nigerian factor, what is best nigerian film ? all those diapora films should just be tagged as best foreign film. the organiser should go to the oscars website, HPFA website , BAFTA , SAG and so many awards website,to see how award categories are structured. also bringing american artists does nothing to the reputation of the awards, the way the program runs like a seminar with dance performances should be improved upon. Ps. i have not seen any of the movies anyway, stuck on foreign movies. Dont blame me, NOLLYWOOD caused it, i was always watching nigerian films years ago until i realised , i was becoming stupid as that's the only way you could enjoy nigerian films , you have to be stupid and dont think, just watch, laugh and enjoy. Maybe i would try coming watching one someday. |

fat girls are treated better because everyone pitys them. |
Well, I must say something, homosexuality has nothing to do with civilisation, homosexuality dates far back as the bible days, where men wanted to have sex with the angels that visited lot. It has nothing to do with the West or America, there are homosexuals every where in the world. The gay bill is just hypocritical because there are gays in the senate. It is a natural disorder and most people are gay from puberty, its not by choice. |
who knows which bank i can send money from into a Gtbank account in Nigeria, i knew that standard chartered bank can send directly to finbank but i don't know which one sends directly to GTB. |
i applied for the internet banking platform, got my token and all only to open it and then discover another name on my platform, i dont even know if this is my account with another name or someone's else , i just closed everything and forgot about it, because i am presently not in nigeria. |
Well,I believe everybody in Nigeria planning to come to new Delhi for studies ,need to know some things, as things are not always what they seem. There are a lot of substandard courses and schools here with very wonderful websites. We can ask me questions, I feel somebody has got to know what is going down here. Add me Penn.walnut@yahoo.com. |
i expected a good result, i marked this year and most of those i marked scored very high, i would say about 65% were going to pass, WAEC is easy to pass , as the marking scheme is becoming more lenient, it is NECO that has a problem, with incorrect questions and all that. |
from my experience with models and all, i will say the guy with the highest potential is tochukwu. |
iya witch are you using this medium to drain also? i saw you in my dream persuading me to be a witch, i embarassed you seriously and stoned you with your cake. |
the fashion world in america and paris dictates how people dress, it takes a conscous effort not to follow the trends. the lines between female and male clothes are getting thinner and skinny jeans is actually made for people who are fit and have something to showoff. it is called fashion evolution deal with it. |
ZE:i'm back from church, some churches are time conscous you know, God works with time. |
i think it is a total shame that this topic is being discussed at all, paying for a child to pass is telling the child that you don't have to make effort in life, you can always take a shortcut and all those parents who pay for their children are digging the graves of their children. if you take your child to a school and find out that the teacher of the school is someone who had paid you in the past for you to help him/her pass their exams and he is now a teacher, teaching your child. would you be comfortable leaving your child in that school? |
iya witch , i am expecting your reply. i want you to also explain the concept of spirit husband and wife, you said all real witch are female, then what about the spirit husbands, also explain the initiation process of an initiated witch and tell us all you know about light ( though i know you know very little about that). |
you have confirmed obasanjo as an initiated witch and you are not the first to say that. now tell us about jonathan goodluck, olusola saraki and the other politicians |
fyi eminem's chances in the general category are very slimso far my predictions are the closest, AOTY- arcade fire ROTY-need you now SOTY-need you now |
personally i think this malawian family are just looking for money and fame. Read The family of Madonna’s adopted Malawian daughter are threatening to take legal action against the singer, claiming she has broken her promise to let them see the girl. They say they were guaranteed regular contact with Mercy James, now five, when the 52-year-old adopted her from an orphanage in June 2009. But they have not seen her since, despite Madonna having made two return visits to Malawi with Mercy. Now they have enlisted the help of the country’s leading civil rights group CILIC to prepare a legal case. The child – whose 16-year-old mother died five days after giving birth – was raised by her grandmother and uncles, but placed in the care of the Kondanani Children’s Village when they could no longer look after her. Emmie Chanika, director of CILIC, said: ‘Mercy’s family have met me several times over the past year and they have been very upset. They have a strong recollection of being told that they would be able to see Mercy and have regular contact with her – and that when she is an adult she will return to live with them in Malawi. ‘I believe they have a case in law because there appears to have been a verbal contract between them and Madonna’s representatives. I have already consulted a lawyer on their behalf. Obviously there could be problems as there is no written agreement, but the lawyer is looking into it. ‘I am preparing a letter which will appeal to Madonna’s lawyer Alan Chinula to intervene on the family’s behalf and ask Madonna to kindly let Mercy meet her family. ‘None of us desires an embarrassing and expensive court case which could humiliate or inconvenience Madonna. The best outcome would be a proper agreement to let Mercy meet her family on a regular basis.’ The legal threat comes as Madonna – currently directing a film about Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson – faces further questions about her abandoned plans for a £10 million girls’ school in Malawi. Two years after she laid a brick in the foundations with a fanfare of publicity, no construction work has been completed and the land has become useless scrubland. mercy grandmother lucy Mercy’s grandmother Lucy Chekechiwa, who raised the child, ekes out a living selling home-grown tomatoes at market in Thwonde village on the outskirts of Malawi’s southern city of Blantyre. Her mud-built home has no running water or electricity. The 72-year-old said the family always intended to bring Mercy back to live with them once she was six, when they believed her immune system would be strong enough to tackle the country’s endemic diseases. She said: ‘The baby needed feeding and the orphanage offered me a wet-nurse to take care of that. We live a very simple life with little money and we felt she would be better in the orphanage for her first few years. ‘We know Madonna gave a lot of money to the orphanage, and the people there persuaded us to let her have our child. But she cannot love Mercy more than I love her, that is not possible. We are just asking her to be humane.’ Mercy’s uncle Peter Baneti, a fisherman, added: ‘We had been visiting Mercy regularly and we never wanted her to leave us and her country behind. But we were told she had a chance of a good life with this singing star who would make sure she never lost touch with her African roots. ‘We heard that Mercy was brought back to Malawi, and we even saw pictures of her in our newspapers, but there was no contact with us. We feel cheated, and my elderly mother is very upset. She lost her daughter and now her granddaughter. ‘My brother and I decided we should seek professional advice. We are not rich people, nor very well educated, but we know that Madonna’s representatives and the lady at the orphanage promised we would always be in close touch with Mercy.’ Mercy was the second Malawian child adopted by Madonna, who has two older children from two previous relationships – 14-year-old Lourdes and Rocco, ten, In 2008 she adopted one-year-old David Banda from an orphanage in the capital city Lilongwe. He was taken back to meet his father Yohane Banda for the first time in three years in March 2009. Thoughts ![]()

Firebomb:fyi eminem's chances in the general category are very slim for AOTY-- arcade fire has been tipped to win, followed closely by lady gaga , eminem is the third most likely here though. for SOTY- need you now, the house that built me and fucck you all have better chances than slim shady for ROTY- empire state of mind has been tipped to win.,eminem i the second here and for those idiots talking about race, when beyonce was nominated last year , u didnt talk about race , must u all act like black people all the days of your lives. eminem uses real meaning words in his raps , no phrasing or slangs, he raps fast and at high pitch, he has real stories to tell, from drugs to bullying to love and all, his melodies are also on point and he had very good production and recovery is the highest selling album of this year in the US. for those campaigning for waving flag look at the list of songs in nominated in the categories u feel he should be then go ahead and listen to them and read their lyrics then say which one waving flag ( simple chant song)is better than. for best rap album it is recovery, because he is the only one nominated for AOTY, u cant lose in your category then get nominated for album of the year, this is the surest award that eminem would receive. so far mosst albums nominated in the AOTY category win in their respective genre except they are nominated with another winner from the same genre, for insttance katy perry and lady gaga are nominated in pop ablum and AOTY , but we know he winner is between the two of them for that genre |
the grammy nominations are out and this time it is eminem who is leaading with ten nominations, lady gaga and jayz and katy perry are all sizeabla contenders, justin bieber also score two, check the major list here http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1653389/20101202/story.jhtml what do u think bout the nods. trey songz was snubbed in the r&b category |
how come the company doesnt even have a website or any reference online?, just taa consultants, something fishy |
i smell a rat ! no 17 year old calalbar girl would kill herself over a diick. they study dickmathematics and excel in it so that is ridiculous if only she was from a rich home, they would have performed an autopsy on her and see if she really died of suffocation from the state of her lungs and wind pipe, or it was just a diguise, but unfortunately she is an orphan but i believe the truth would come out one day , we may just not know about it. Nigeria police? |
it is so amazing that people would blame the woman for it , saying she doesnt satisfy his sexual needs, that is so stupid, a gay man is naturally attracted to the same sex and it takes only god to help him get over it , it is like been born with an abnormality like having sickle cell or being born with a heart condition, this is only happening because he has to satisfy the soceital requirements of getting married and all because nigeria still frowns at homosexuality but this has absolutely nothing to do with the woman, so ignorant people on this thread should back off, this . @ poster get over it , you are not the first and you will not be the last statistics have it that at least 2 in every 50 men have natural same sex tendency and think about it all these guys would eventually marry women in nigeria. but i must say i dont really support the decision to cut him off entirely , have a discussion with him and make decisions together, there was a pastor on oprah the other day called Ted that his wife stood with him but he was also willing to wait on god to correct his orientation but he confessed it wasnt easy but he is a living testimony, but some people cannot even bring themselves out to that place where they can be corrected, but seriously would u have prefered him to be a serial killer or armed robber, come off it girl and go meet your husband, there is no guarantee that u wont meet another guy who has the same orientation or your son might replay this in a few years |
